The tap in the wash basin is faulty in the room we had. House keepng change towels and cleaning cups, and replenishing biscuits didn't happen. We had to ask for water to be replenished.

This was a fantastic stay! I would definitely stay here again! The staff are the best thing about this place (although there are many people there good things too). They are sooooo friendly, chatty and go for her and above to make you feel welcome and do anything for you (including nipping to the local shop when my son wanted Nutella on his croissant for breakfast). Highly recommend!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The stay was great value, comfortable and really very pleasant. Just a couple of slight issues. We were advised that our room would be ready for 15:00hrs when we arrived we were told the room wasn’t ready. It wasn’t ready until 16:00hrs. Also the room was very warm even though there was no heating on. Apart from these two issues our stay was enjoyable with an emphasis on our welcome and committed staff.

Comfy beds. A bit noisy when the dray was delivered. Food was excellent ( best poached eggs I’ve had )as were all the staff. They were friendly, courteous and accommodated our visiting family( including children) for dinner.

Nothing to be negative about. A cosy and welcoming pub, great food and super service all round. Great location. Would highly recommend.

Location is amazing and the rooms were so beautifully done. The extra treats for dogs made the £10 well worth it! Lovely to have fresh milk in the rooms and fab tea and coffee. We also had a lovely evening meal.

Quality of the fixtures and fittings in the room were spot on and dinner was superb. Not just the quality of the food, the service by the staff was outstanding

Noisy dog in the next door to our room. I blame the owner not the hotel. The owner even left the dog to bark the next morning whilst she went walkabout knowing we were in the room. As I said bad owner not the Hotel or staff. No respect for others staying at this fabulous Hotel.

Wonderful location in the quaint town of Coniston. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff was warm and welcoming.

Location, size of room stayed in, hotel was lovely, staff friendly.

Unfortunately was shorted staffed when arrived so couldnt get lunch as had to just honour book ins & slight delay with check in but it happens. Manager reserved us a table for the evening due to being short staffed to make sure we could have meal which was appreciated. Overall would definitely recommend. Food was lovely for evening meal, we had beef roast & full English next day was great.

The breakfast was quite basic. I had avocado & tomato on a muffin which consisted of a muffin which hadn’t been buttered, 2 thin slices of avocado topped with a large whole tomato

Our drinks order didn't arrive at all during the day so we went elsewhere. It was forgotten apparently. Had to interrupt my main meal to get my drink I'd ordered at the table. Chef didn't do brekkie as requested. No staff around at checkout so had to ask a chef!

I paid for a King size room (upgrade) and I'm almost 100% sure I got a standard double!! Not only that it was a very warm weekend and the sash window was restricted to 6 inches opening and the fan provided just blow warm air around a small room. Air conditioning should be considered as a necessity for hotels / guest houses's these days....especially as global warming gets a hold. The fan in the bathroom also did not help to remove steam as it wasn't working. There's a church opposite with a bell that chimes on the hour which I would prefer not to hear at 1,2, 3, 4 5 am etc !!

The pub itself had a great ambience, lovely decor and generally a great vibe..obviously popular with tourists and it was right in the middle of Coniston. The decor of our bedroom was lovely and it was very spacious

For some reason we were put in an accessible room?? This meant we were not in the main building but adjacent to the carpark. Windows needed to be opened as it was a warm room which left me feeling quite vulnerable. Also position of bed headboard was below a window so had to ensure blind was fully down. Would have much preferred being in an upstairs bedroom. Breakfast if you wanted continental was very limited, literally croissants and miniature cereals such as cornflakes, disappointing! One variety of yoghurt. Cooked was better but bacon overcooked and sausage very anaemic.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The food was of great quality and was really tasty, we had breakfast and evening meals. The beer served at the bar was good. Our room was very comfortable.

Big room and handy location

The disabled toilet towel rail was stuck on boiling hot which in a heat wave was not ideal, the wet room/bathroom had just been used so the floor was wet and there were hairs in the shower it felt hot but i assumed it was just the heat but at 2 am in the morning i had to open the door to let some air in because the heat from the bathroom was horrendous. The green fire escape light was very bright in the room all night too. When i told staff at morning breakfast they said ‘ yes we must get that fixed the twisty thing is broken’ The toilet also had a leak after flushing the floor became wet.

These small Lake District towns often have a 'the only game in town' kind of feeling when it comes to their hotels. If you are following a walking route that hops between tiny towns, there's not much pressure on the owners to make it all that special (this is something we had experienced that night previous). It's in this context that the Crown Inn of Coniston is even more admirable for its exceptionally friendly staff, delicious food and delightful rooms that make your heart melt upon entrance. The shower had the perfect water pressure. the hand soap and shampoo both smelt lovely, and even more so when combined. They do pies properly, they do the Truffle chicken with the most delightful potato fondant, and oh boy do they do desert. Oh my gosh the deserts! A picture of one is attached. They really line you up with that evening meal, and then knock you down with a gorgeous breakfast the next day that makes you contemplate walking onwards or 'resting your legs' to stay another night. Really just lovely.

Quite expensive. The breakfast was good but no fresh fruit or choice of pastries etc. Quite a limited menu for the amount paid. Noisy at night as we overlooked the beer garden.

The location is central and convenient, both for the lake and for starting several walks. Our room was large, with a king size bed and crisp cotton bedding, both of which were a welcome joy. Kettle, coffee & tea in the room - much appreciated. Breakfast was excellent - generous portions of well-cooked local produce. Wish we'd booked a second night - very highly recommended.

Room was immaculate, looked as though recently revamped. Toiletries, complementary tea/coffee very good quality. Lovely big fluffy towels. Dinner & breakfast served fresh, piping hot , generous portions & really good quality produce.

Room was large, clean and comfortable with a third bed case if need. Everything provided from pods for our morning coffee to biscuits, milk, water etc Bed was very comfortable and linens lovely. Blackout curtains great for a restful morning Breakfast excellent with choices of cereals, yoghurt and fruit together with goid coffee Meal on the evening also very good and would highly recommend. Staff friendly and helpful

Bathroom could do with slight refresh around the bath and provision of a hand rail on wall to assist stepping in would be a good addition
