We loved the outlook and the decor.

We stayed in one of the small cabins on this winery property in Cromwell, and it was truly one of the most memorable stays we’ve had in New Zealand. The cabin is new, spotless, and very well equipped—everything felt modern, warm, and comfortable. At night, the sky was full of stars, and walking through the quiet open countryside around the property was incredibly refreshing. The hosts were exceptionally kind and welcoming. One small moment that we’ll never forget: after we checked out and started walking away, we realized we had left a pair of boots behind. The hostess actually ran after us to catch up—she was out of breath, but still insisted on making sure we got everything back. That level of care and sincerity genuinely touched us, and it’s a happy memory we’ll keep for a long time. A lovely extra touch: fresh milk every day, and it was delicious (some of the best milk we had during our trip). We don’t drink alcohol, but we still recommend that guests taste their wines—this place clearly has its own charm and character. Highly recommended! If you plan to be here, please double-check your transportation in advance. If you plan to come from Queenstown by InterCity bus, book your tickets early—public transport can be limited, and planning ahead will make your trip much smoother.

Lovely outlook with remaining vines from our window. The majority of the vineyard has been pulled out. Property was super clean and tidy in and around our cabin.

A kitchen sink would have been handy. Had to wash fruit and hands in the bathroom. Would have liked to be told about how the hot pools work and what treatments were on offer. We weren’t shown them.

Excellent location for us . We parked our car and rode everywhere we needed by bike. Lovely private unit. We used the bbq each night to cook. We spent a day biking the Dunstan Bike trail and enjoyed a boat ride back up from Clyde .

The room and the property were lovely. The host was also lovely. Easy walk to town and very peaceful.

There was no end table next to the bed so I had to use a kitchen chair. The light over the bed was blinding if one person wanted to sleep and the other one read. Small things. All in all a nice place to stay.

Jan and Graeme were great hosts. Unfortunately, we missed the wine tasting on the first night, however were pleasantly surprised when we attended our second night. Great discussions and selection of wines. The room was very cosy and secure with everything we needed and the BBQ was great for what we needed. Indulged in a spa on site and again were impressed by the property. Would definitely go back.

Great location as base for touring area, private outside space to relax, well equipped with added extras. Complimentary wine tasting and hot pools facilities were a much enjoyed bonus.

The atmosphere amongst the vines is so relaxing, and the attention to detail in the finishing of the rooms is faultless. We didn't use the pools or spa but would anticipate the same excellence. We will most definitely stay again, hopefully on holiday, rather than whikst on a work trip to Cromwell.

It was fabulous - extremely well equipped kitchen, private, quiet. The cottage had many extras that you usually do not find in a rental property. Has private yard, BBQ, jacuzzi tub, oven, full size frig, Nespresso, everything we wanted and more. Hosts are very nice and extremely helpful and accommodating. Excellent stay in everyway.

The attention to detail all around the property that showed it is has been carefully and creatively planned. Free wine tasting was such an enjoyable experience. Little extra touches inside the room that made us feel really welcome and appreciated as guests- well done team.

Very clean. Our cottage was very comfortable and we enjoyed a hot tub in the afternoon.

Well-appointed and comfortable unit with view of the grapevines from your patio. Bbq to cook an easy dinner and an assortment of breakfast items delivered to room...what is there not to like? Great hosts and a wine tasting of River Rock wines was a bonus. Great location to explore Cromwell area.

Wish we could have stayed longer. Not walkable to restaurants but a very short drive to wineries, cellar doors, grocery, and selection of restaurants.

Absolutely nothing everything was amazing

Our room and the view out over the vineyard to the mountains is beautiful. And the complimentary wine tasting exceeded all our expectations. We tasted so many wines - all were wonderful and the talk about them was informative and interesting without being pretentious.

There are no restaurants that are easily walkable from River Rock.

Great hosts !!!! Cottage was right in the middle of a well manicured Vineyard. Beautiful gardens and fruit trees. We had a glass of wine or wine tasting each evening with the hosts . What a wonderful stay. Plus they have hot tubs to rent

So luch to like about Rivrr Rock. The setting was just lovely. Our hosts were fabulous and generous. The wines were great quality. Our cabin was great. We're definitely going back!

Our stay was too short.

The breakfast was great, lots of variety and different on both days. The location was awesome, beautifully peaceful looking out onto the vineyards yet only a few minutes walk to the town centre.

There was nothing we didn't like. It was all lovely.

The wonderful I hot tubs and wine tour

We loved everything about this place. The accommodation was beautiful set amongst the vineyards, fell totally in love with the tiles in the bathroom and the light switches. We also fell in love with one of the ports, but won't mention which one so that it doesn't sell out for selfish reasons. Jan and Graeme were wonderful hosts and really helped us out of a bind. We really appreciate your generosity and can't wait to stay here again on future travels.

Really good facilities in a fantastic location, easy walking distance to town. Good size self contained unit. Very clean and tidy. Wine tasting was fun! Really recommend.

We thought the breakfast plentiful on the first day, very generous however replacement became less on second and third day.

Continental breakfast was excellent, with little differences made each day - more than we could eat! Location, cleanliness and communications were all excellent.

Being charged over $12 to use our Debit card! (this hadn’t happened anywhere else in NZ) Lots of road noise from heavy trucks.

No complaints what so ever

Our hosts Graeme and Jan-Marie were so welcoming. Our room was beautifully furnished and a superb continental breakfast (more than we could possibly eat) was provided in our room. BBQ on our own deck overlooking the vines and complete privacy. Use of washing/drying facilities was a godsend. And on our last evening we enjoyed a complimentary wine-tasting with no less than 8 wines and 3 ports! Such fun hearing all about the wine-making process in such good company. Thank you Graeme and Jan-Marie.

This is a lovely place to stay, very close to Cromwell in a peaceful and scenic setting with very clean and comfortable facilities. Breakfast every day was a bonus. Good parking, friendly hospitable owners and the evening complimentary wine tasting from the vineyard was a treat. Would highly recommend for a couple.

The room and the property are so amazing and beautiful, exactly like the photos. We were very happy when we checked into our beautiful accommodation. The wine tasting at night was a great way to meet other people staying there. We had such a good time talking to the other guests and the hosts Graeme and Jan-Marie who are so welcoming and friendly, it was a really lovely time. We also booked a hot tub for the second night and WOW how amazing it was when we walked in, all the little added extras just made the whole experience so romantic. We definitely will be back to try the others!! Thanks so much Graeme and Jan-Marie for making our trip one will always remember ❤️

Nothing everything was so wonderful

AWESOME place to stay. Everything was perfect, from the substantial breakfast to wine tasting and bbq facilities on the deck outside the unit. This is a boutique winery with amazing units set in the vineyard. Our hosts Graeme and Jan-Marie were fun and great hosts, who love their job and happy to share their wine creations. Unfortunately, we did not use the hot tubs, definitely on the list for our next stay.

This is an outstanding place to stay, and couldn't fault it.

Staff were great, so friendly and welcoming

The Vinyard owner offered complimentary tasting at 1700 hrs of about ten different wine, incl. white, red and Port, which are of superior quality. It was a pity that I cannot carry any further additional weight in my check-in baggage on my return flight back home, otherwise I would buy a few bottles back. I like the whole accommodation setting of cottage style in the middle of the Vinyard and also the comfy of the bed provided.
