Location, staff and room was nice

The bathroom was a little dated

Close to our relatives home, room comfortable with good facilities, kettle coffee etc.

Hot water tap not working, fixed after the 2nd night, curtains poorly fitting, wallpaper coming loose in places.

It would be ideal for young people. The bedroom was upstairs when I arrived the bloke carried my bags etc upstairs but the next when I was leaving nobody was around and nearly put me out. The car park was at the back which was annoying as you had to walk all the way around. To get to it. Also I was expecting a lovely cooked breakfast. They called it continental but wasn’t much of it.

The room was very clean and well stocked with toiletries, bathroom had modern facilities, no noisy extractor fans etc. The, hotel was quiet at night and we slept well both nights. The staff were lovely and helpful too, all round cozy place to stay.

The hotel doesn't really do a breakfast service, there's a selection of pastries, tea and coffee facilities left in the room, but no hot breakfast service. There's a chance that you may get an internal facing room, where the window looks onto a small void space above a roof.

The staff were all very welcoming. It was lovey and peaceful so we got a good night's sleep. The evening meals were tasty and nicely presented. They had a lovely range of whiskey to enjoy as a nightcap. All in all just a pleasant place to stay for a short break.

It was close to the airport. Staff were all friendly. You get what your pay for so can’t expect too much.

Carpark was way round the back. Shower could do with a bit of bleach to get rid of the mould.

The drain smell in the ensuite when we first arrived was overpowering. It seemed to disappear with use, though.

We only stayed for one night, but everything was clean and well organized. When we woke up, there was a bag with breakfast items waiting outside our door. We absolutely loved it! We were doing a road trip through several cities, so it was perfect to have something we could take with us and enjoy along the way.

Breakfast arrangements. If it has to be delivered to the room the previous night, shredded wheat would be a good option. The breakfasts we got were good quality though: we enjoyed the croissants and fruit, and the coffee was quite good.

The room was very stuffy , very tired looking and smelt of old carpet . The bathroom needed maintenance and was tiny.. No notication of WiFi, unstaffed between 11pm and 11am. No hot water in the sink. This was not a reasonably priced room.

Loved how peaceful it was and that we were given full information about the overnight self-service but also the scurity arrangements. Loved the packed breakfast at our door. Left in peace but would have known where to get help if required. Very very comfy quiet sleep.

Hôtel bien situé dans le centre de Linlithgow, chambre propre et agréable, literie confortable.

Hôtel bruyant car situé sur la route principale qui traverse Linlithgow, mais nous le savions . La grosse déception était le petit-déjeuner ! Sans plus d'explication, on nous dit à notre arrivée que le petit-déjeuner n'est plus servi dans le restaurant le matin, mais qu'il sera déposé devant notre porte. Résultat : nous avons trouvé des sacs à 21h devant la porte de notre chambre, pour le petit-déjeuner du lendemain ! Brique de jus de fruit, pomme, une mini (!!!) viennoiserie, barre de céréales, mini bouteille de lait et boîte de céréales. Ce n'est pas du tout ce qui était présenté dans le descriptif de l'hôtel quand nous avons réservé et cela ne correspond clairement pas au service attendu face au prix payé. Par ailleurs, pas de personnel dans l'hôtel entre 23h et 10h. Cela ressemble fortement à une recherche d'économies, au détriment du service malgré le prix de la nuit, extrêmement décevant !

We were told the door to our room was "fiddly" and we would have to pull the door while turning the key. Anyway we couldn't get the door opened and had to get staff to open it for us. Getting the door open first time was a bit of a lottery after that. Grateful we were only staying one night. When I looked to book this hotel there were lots of reviews etc. talking about the excellent cooked breakfast. They NO LONGER do cooked breakfast. The replacement breakfast bag was adequate with cereal, fruit, croissants, and cereal bars. Small niggle was only two breakfast tea bags in the room as we had a cup of tea at night and because there is NO staff overnight we were unable to get more for a cup of tea the following morning. Also only one tea cup in the room. Had to ask for another. Shower head was fixed to the wall at a great height, so when used the water hit the back wall and all over the floor.

Room was very small and cramped. It was advertised on the website as providing a cooked breakfast but we were advised on arrival that it was a continental breakfast. The breakfast was of poor quality. There was no choice regarding type of cereal or fruit provided. We were not asked if anyone had allergies or health conditions. The first morning there was no milk for the cereal. The second morning there was no orange juice. There was no knife in the room for spreading jam. There was no tea spoon for making tea. There was a coffee machine in the room but no pods provided. The tea tray wasn’t cleaned or restocked after the first day. We were away all day and staff were off duty when we returned at night. We were away early the next morning so unable to let staff know directly about short comings. We were extremely disappointed with our stay. We went out to a cafe for breakfast both days. This cost us an extra £58. The only positive was that when we did see staff on the first evening they were very polite and helpful.

Lage ist perfekt, Größe des Zimmers war okay, grundsätzlich auch sauber! Betten bequem, haben trotz Straßenlärm gut geschlafen! Pub war kaum störend von der Geräuschkulisse her! Frühstück gebucht, steht auch in der Gästemappe, dass Frühstück gekocht wird! Jedoch bekommt man nur eine Papiertüte mit Cerealien, Milch, Riegel, Croissant, Marmelade, Orangensaft! Alles verpackt und billig, keine Butter! Am ersten Morgen bekamen wir gar nichts, am zweiten, nach Beschwerde (freundliche Bedienung, jedoch keine Entschuldigung vom Personal)nur für 2 Personen (wieder keine Entschuldigung, sondern Hinweis, dass im Computer nur 2 Personen aufscheinen! Eigentlich nicht mein Problem, wenn ein Dreibettzimmer angeboten wird)am dritten endlich für 3 gebuchte Gäste! Zur Begrüßung am Ankunftstag drückte man uns den Zimmerschlüssel in die Hand, Zimmer mussten wir selbst finden! Kurze Einweisung vorher, sonst kein Kontakt! Personal erst ab 11 Uhr mittags im Haus, kein Frühstücksraum! Zimmerservice nicht vorhanden, nur Abfalleimer im Zimmer wurde entleert, nicht jener im Bad, erst am Montag wurden erstmals die Betten gemacht! Am Wochenende gibt es wohl keine Reinigung (obwohl es Hotel heißt)! Im Zimmer (Dreibett) nur 1 Stuhl, am Tischchen unmöglich Platz für Frühstück! Gegessen wurde daher im Bett! Fenster im Zimmer war nur ca 7 cm weit zu öffnen, bei längeren heißen Tagen unerträglich warm! Badezimmer max. 3 qm, für korpulente Personen ist das WC unmöglich benutzbar! Zähneputzen nur bei offener Badtür, Waschbecken sehr klein! Für ein Quartier samt Frühstück lt. Angebot zu teuer, das Frühstück ist keine 10 Pfund wert gewesen! Würde empfehlen, ohne Frühstück zu buchen und sich somit Ärger zu ersparen! Oder es auch ganz sein zu lassen

Außergewöhnlich freundliches Personal, hervorragendes Abendessen im Restaurant, am Samstagabend sogar Live-Musik. Unsere erste Station auf unserer Schottland-Rundreise - ein super Anfang.

Parking at the hotel was fortunately of no problem.

No help was provided in taking our bags to the rooms while the access was catastrophic through what I believe to be a fire access. Problems gave with both keys to both rooms I booked. Breakfast consisted of a bag full of trinkets in front of the door in the morning and again during checkout no a soal was to be seen which left us breaking through the fire exit to escape the premises. I don’t know if this is common practice, but I can't imagine this is common practice.

Staff were very friendly. The Inn was very homely & rooms had everything you need. Loved our walk around Linlithgow & towards the palace in the drizzle. We enjoyed our stay here, good location for exploring Kelpies, Xtrenme Go-karting etc. Dinner here was very good too!

I didn't mind, this at all, but some may find the breakfast in a bag by your door unusual. Box of cereal, croissant, apple, granola bar & carton of orange juice. All good & actually handy if leaving early as they place by your door at night. So, not a negative.

Staff were super friendly & the Inn had a lovely homely feel. Everything in the rooms you would need.

Clean and comfortable

The bedroom was a good size, with a comfortable bed, space for hanging clothes etc. Decor was muted colours and relaxing. The hotel was a pleasant walk from the station and well placed for visiting the Palace.

The establishment turned out to be more of a pub with rooms than a hotel, and did not have staff always on site which we found odd. The booking included breakfast which the hotel website described as 'English breakfast' and 'served'. In fact what was on offer was a bag left outside the bedroom the night before. So neither description of it as breakfast lived up to reality. The key both to our bedroom and to the exterior door were awkward to operate. The bathroom was whiffy on arrival (but with no staff to ask, we ran the shower for a while which lessened it). The shower although hot was not particularly strong, and the small patch of black mould in one corner of the cubicle was unwelcome. On arrival we found we had one hand towel between the two of us - this was rectified for the second night through a written note.

The location was fine for Linlithgow, The Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies.

Firstly let's review the breakfast. Now I'm ok with continental breakfast but when it is just delivered in a brown paper bag at your room door about 10pm at night, like an old school pack lunch, you are stretching it to call this bed and breakfast with what you would normally expect for £125 per night. The food at the hotel/pub was at best only average. The parking was not technically on site, it is on a council owned parking lot adjacent to the pub. The room was a good size but that's about it. The sash windows which lead out on to a flat roof along with other bedrooms would not lock as it was actually broken and in pieces on the window ledge. That's a security issue! The bathroom was vile, the stench from the drains on the shower was compounded by the lack of a working extractor fan. There was nothing in the information on the hotel booking site which said the site was unmanned from 10pm until 10am . There was nothing in tge information that said it was a brown paper bag breakfast. Very poor and the hotel should be taken to task for the ommission in information which would have change our minds about booking here. It's too late when you arrive on the day to be greeted with this information as you don't have a lot of alternatives in terms of accommodation. The other point here is that if you decided not to stay because of these reasons, it would be a fight to get a refund.

Nous avions une voiture de location que nous devions rendre le lendemain matin, cet établissement est à 20 minutes de l’aéroport, l’endroit parfait pour cela. Cette petite ville est aussi très intéressante à visiter.

West Port was a typical pub/Inn on the high street. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and accommodating when I asked if there was a possibility of changing rooms because the shower was in the bath and I have hip replacements I was concerned about climbing into the bath to have a shower. The gentleman I spoke to offered another room with a walk in shower. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The carpets and general appearance was a little tired and carpets were marked and looking a bit tired. The continental breakfast was brought to your room the night before because the site was unmanned from late evening to 10.00am. This was very basic and didn’t offer much in the way of choice. The restaurant was tables in the bar and was okay but didn’t find a lot of choice on the menu and had I had longer would have probably looked around the town for somewhere else to eat and was just a convenience. For what I paid which was admittedly a last minute booking would have looked at other hotels in the area that offered more. It was convenient to where I was working but on reflection had I had more time to book somewhere, would have picked somewhere that offered more for my money. If you are wanting somewhere basic and clean and convenient, I would say it okay, but I probably won’t stay there again.

Le personnel est très agréable mais à partir de 22h il n'y a plus personne sur site, donc en cas d'incendie on vous montre les portes de secours. Le petit déjeuner est mis dans un sachet derrière la porte.

Perfekt für die letzte Nacht vorm Rückflug. Liegt sehr zentral in Linlithgow, einem super schönen Ort mit Altstadt. Das Restaurant ist super, Essen war lecker. Bett bequem und Zimmer schön groß.

Das Frühstück wird vor die Tür gestellt. An sich kein Thema aber wir ernähren uns vegan und darauf wurde gar nicht eingegangen. Wir haben Frühstück in der Stadt besorgt und das Frühstück vom Hotel leider stehen lassen. Ansonsten alles super

Die Heizung im Bad war trotz angenehmer Außentemperatur voll aufgedreht, ebenso ein Heizkörper im Flur, der nicht abzustellen ging, weil defekt. Die Dusche ist sehr eng, der Einstieg extrem schmal.

Die Lage war perfekt für uns. Wir kamen spät in Edinburgh am Flughafen an und suchten eine Übernachtungsmöglichkeit in der Nähe. Das Personal bei der Ankunft war freundlich.

Am ärgerlichsten war die Frühstückssituation. Hier scheint sich im Vergleich zu früheren Bewertungen das System geändert zu haben. Es gab kein echtes Frühstück, nur eine Tüte mit einem Croissant, einem Müsliriegel, einem Apfel, Milch und Cornflakes. Die Tüte wurde nachts vor die Tür gestellt. Eine Kaffeemaschine stand im Zimmer. Als wir morgens einen Kaffee machen wollten, mussten wir jedoch feststellen, dass es keine Kapseln dazu gab. Das Personal kam morgens erst um 10 Uhr. Wir konnten daher auch nicht nach Kaffee fragen. Des weiteren gab es nur einen Stuhl, sodass die 2. Person wohl im Stehen frühstücken sollte. Das Zimmer war nicht sehr sauber. Der Teppich war fleckig und auf den Heizkörpern lag fingerdick der Staub.

Quick one night stay before departing from Edinburgh airport early the next morning (20 min away)

Our room was directly above the very noisy pub with live music and on the street front so the added noise from people on the street and leaving the pub.

La ubicación, es un pueblo muy tranquillo, las camas son muy comfortables y la comida del restaurante muy rica. El personal muy agradable.

Es la segunda vez que vamos y esta vez nos tocó una habitación bastante pequeña. Ya no hay desayuno, nos dejaron unas bolsas con algo de leche, fruta, cereales... hubiéramos preferido bajar a desayunar al restaurante como la otra vez.

Ideal location with lovely walks from the hotel. Good for stop overs with dogs to break the journey. Staff lovely and welcoming.

Apart from the comfort, staff, the amenities etc, the staff that stayed on and on,!! The flight left Zurich after the time we were due to collect our car from Edinburgh and then I took a wrong turn at the roundabout. At about 2.00am they guided us to arrive at about 2.30am! How wonderful and gracious is that!!

The breakfast offering is a joke, a wee bag with stale pastry, a box of cereal, uht milk and if you’re lucky a piece of fruit. Considering the cost you’d expect a better breakfast. thankfully staff gave a heads up about the breakfast at check in so I knew what to expect

We have used this hotel many times and were disappointed to find that they no longer do cooked breakfast. The bagged breakfast was not suitable for my husband as nothing was gluten free.

The only good thing about it is the port side round the corner.

The room wasn’t very clean, the bathroom the shower cubicle was tiny , the staff wasn’t very helpful, we also had food at the hotel. Wasn’t the best either. 20mins to come get food order, got that then waited another 20mins for pudding order by that time I had enough. If I wasn’t staying there I would have walked out. Also we had a dog and he cut his nose on the radiator which when I went down and felt it, it had sharp edges to it along the bottom. So that’s not very good if there was small children in the rooms. The curtains in the room did even have enough length to cover the window.

We expected a breakfast. However when we booked in we were told that breakfast consisted of a bag which was deposited at the door to our room before 9PM. This bag contains milk. There was no way to keep this milk fresh in a hot room There were no plates or even a knife to spread the jam on the croissants. Only 1 chair in the room so we had to sit on the bed to eat This is not what we expected from the price we paid. Finally,, check out was terrible. There wasn't a single member of staff available. All we got was a notice telling us to leave the key in a box
