Beautiful and unique!

The property is amazing--the owners have created a very nice experience. The location was convenient for us as we were traveling across the island, and we were very pleased with the accommodations and the service. The open area could be a little loud at times, but I am certain the staff will figure out how to minimize the noise in no time.

Jerry was such a kind and helpful host! We enjoyed our stay and would return in a second. The grounds were so beautiful as well as the home. I like a softer bed, but it was all just amazing!

Such a stunning property both the building & the gardens were all in pristine condition. Excellent accommodation & breakfast was wonderful. Host was very welcoming as we arrived & continued through our stay, we wish we could have stayed longer.

This was by far the best hotel we've ever stayed at anywhere, it was truly a 5 star place; it looked and felt like it. Exquisite grounds, impeccable service from Gerry, and got to meet his friendly dog as well. We somehow managed to get the penthouse at a reasonable rate and it was so awesome it was unbelievable that we could stay there. The only problem we had is that it was a little too cold in our room for our taste as it was in-floor heating and it was 2000 square feet of open space. We asked for an extra heater and Gerry brought one to us. Breakfast was great and served in a nice high ceiling room with other guests. Real, fresh squeezed orange juice, actually good coffee that comes in a French press and all local ingredients with your choice of options. Bed was really comfortable and a good size. The pillows were comfortable, comforter was extra soft, couches were actually comfortable. When you arrive Gerry comes out to greet you and take your bags, and when you leave he comes out to help you take your bags and check out, just like magic. We've never stayed in an actual B&B before so we can't really speak to how different or better it was, but we've stayed at much more expensive and supposedly fancy places that were just really expensive hotels and fancier looking, but this was a totally different and better experience in every regard. We highly recommend, would stay again!

Jerry and wife are spectacular, can’t say enough great things about my visit to Castedale. The rooms, the grounds with its mature landscaping, the security at the entrance gate and the wonderful hospitality of your host. Jerry and wife exceeded my expectation. I would recommend this to anybody interested in this all the best.

Beautiful property a few minutes from Sligo. Our room (Deluxe suite) was very spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. Our hosts were friendly and very knowledgeable on the area. Gerry gave us many recommendations on where to go or what to visit. Delicious breakfast! We wish we had a longer stay but hope to visit Sligo and Castledale again soon.

Beautiful grounds and building!! Very clean and comfortable bedding. We were greeted upon arrival and fed a wonderful breakfast even tho we forgot to confirm. Definitely recommend staying here.

I was dubious at first with the quality of the reviews being so good, however I can confirm that they are genuine. An extra effort for breakfast was made for my dietary requirements and the grounds and place is better than a hotel. You will not be disappointed. The penthouse suite I took is 250 sq metre. It’s bigger than some houses, great value.

I arrived late late in the evening around 730 and was greeted by Jerry. It was almost like coming to a friends house to stay if your friends house was a mansion. We asked for recommendations for any restaurants in the town for dinner. Unfortunately we got there too late and most of them are closed. We will be coming back. There is some fabulous places to eat in this town and speaking of eating. I stayed in 11 hotels on this trip to Ireland and this location had the best breakfast, absolutely delicious. Jerry was an excellent host and he made us feel at home.

Lovely welcome & tour. Truly lovely property, light & open with very large beautifully appointed room. Unfortunately, noise from very late partying guests echos thru building. Lacking amenities expected in 4 star - bath soap, robes, etc

Castledale is the most beautiful B&B property or hotel we have ever stayed in, including places that have cost 10x as much. Gorgeous gardens, magnificent house, fitted out with everything you might need. My only regret was only staying one night. Would stay there for a week and be happy next time.

This is a beautiful, quiet oasis just outside Sligo. The house and grounds are beautifully appointed and welcoming. We fell in love with this B&B and will return if and when the opportunity presents. The owners were both gracious and attentive. We highly recommend Castledale if you are heading to Sligo!

Hidden Gem! I cant explain in detail how much you get fir such a low price. Owner is an absolute pleasure to be greeted by til the sec you say goodbye. Missing this place would be like missing the views of Kylemoore Abbey.

Magnificent grounds and building. The room was on the ground floor and we wished we were on the first floor.

This is an absolute must stay if you are in the are of Sligo! The owners of Castledale have turned their home into a magnificent accommodation for guests. Don’t worry…the owners live behind the property now after their kids moved out. You are literally staying in a castle, or a mansion for those of us from the United States. The bedrooms are all locked rooms. As a guest, you get a “castle key” to your room, a key to the front door, and a remote for the private driveway gate. The common areas of the home serve as a breakfast area, entertainment area, and relaxation area. There is a piano, a pool table, a massive room to watch movies, and much more. The grounds of the property are immaculate. The owners and hosts greet you upon your arrival and give you a great tour. Each room has its own bath and equipped with a hair dryer, soap/body wash/shampoo and conditioner. It feels a little strange at first because you are staying in someone’s house which they use to live in, but this is a mansion/castle and it was fabulous. My only concern was that if you happen to book at the same time as a rowdy individual or two, they could literally play the piano or watch movies downstairs all night and the sound would carry. One of the coolest places we have ever stayed at.

The house and grounds were absolutely beautiful. We were immediately greeted upon our arrival and shown around. Room was immaculate. Very short drive to Sligo for dining and shopping. Highly recommend!

Beautiful home located close enough to town for easy access to restaurant and shops. The host stayed open 1 extra day for us since we had booked our reservation so far in advanced and gave us free reign over the entire location. The views from the room are stunning and the cinema room was wonderful!

Huge house. Felt very like a modern manor house. Room was comfortable, lots of electrical outlets. No safe. Free wifi and parking. Breakfast was excellent. The grounds were beautiful, too. My only caveat was that there were motion controlled gates and we didn’t know if we were in the right place initially. Plus when you left the gates, they opened towards you so I had to back up to get out. Great place.

Castledale was an incredibly beautiful renovation of a private house. It was spacious, elegant, tranquil, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. We loved just walking round the grounds, playing pool, playing their lovely old grand piano, and relaxing in the peaceful atmosphere. I highly recommend it!

We had a very pleasant overnight b&b at Castledale. Only when we arrived did it strike us that this is not a hotel. It certainly has the proportions and look of a hotel but it is a grand home.

This was a stunning property with beautiful grounds and dining room. The room was comfortable and elegant. The hosts were very accomodating and helpful with our stay and in getting local information.

Although our stay was short (1-night only) our experience was fantastic. Jerry and his wife were lovely people, who made us feel welcome, provided superior service and personal insights on "must-see" places. We followed their recommendation and were not disappointed at all! Very comfortable room with top notch amenities. Breakfast was made-to-order and delicious.

This is a lovely, grand home. Spacious rooms. Guests have access to a home theater, piano and pool table. Hosts Gerry and Kaarjal work very hard at making guests comfortable. Breakfast was made to order, fresh and delicious. Resident dog, Leo the labrador is a big sweet boy. We didn't want to leave. Highly recommend.

Grounds are beautiful and extensive. Walks, fountains, luscious green. Bed was large and comfortable, shower great.

The property was visually beautiful from the outside and nice in the inside. The owner gave great recommendations for dinner and parking which we loved. The breakfast selections look appetizing and we will be eating soon. However, we booked a king size deluxe and received a small guest room with a full size bed with a tiny 3/4 bath. It looked nothing like the booked room online. Not getting the room we booked, cobb webs/spider in the bathroom window and the small bed for two persons dampened my opinion of this place.

This is a beautiful property! Grounds and castle are gorgeous. The owners were wonderful, kind, thoughtful and helpful. We loved our time there and wish we could have planned a couple more nights there. It's on our list when we return to Ireland!

A unique B&B experience - I know the Sligo area and there is nothing else like this. 5 star in a quiet setting, yet next to town. The rooms are huge, luxurious and comfortable. The food and service outstanding. I wouldn't go anywhere else if I need a night in Sligo/Leitrim.

A lovely stay in a modern day mansion that reminds me of a castle. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are lovely. Gerry made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was amazing. He gave us recommendations of places in Sligo to visit and we were very happy to have visited Castledale. I would definitely recommend a visit to Sligo and Castledale for accommodation. I also loved their dog, Leo.

Spent 1 night at Castledale on a brief tour around Ireland. Greeted by homeowner, Leo the dog, and Lily the cat. The house and grounds are beautiful! Wish the weather were nicer so that we could truly appreciate the gardens. Will have to come back again in the summer time! The rooms are spacious and clean. Food was great. Played pool and watched a movie in the media room. Close to downtown Sligo. Definitely worth staying here if you get the opportunity.

This is such a fabulous place to get away and relax. The room was second to none, warm and cosy and extremely clean! Enjoyed curling up on the couch with coffee and relaxing on the bed to watch a film. Breakfast was amazing and the hosts were absolutely amazing, so welcoming! As was Leo!!

This was an incredibly impressive home/property, secluded but located only 5 minutes from the town of Sligo. The home was massive with some really cool features. The hosts gave us a tour and indicated common areas for guest use. There was both a billiard room and theater room for guests to use at their leisure. A yummy breakfast was served in the morning, with several choices cooked to order. Our room and bathroom were a decent size and very clean. Netflix was available on all the in-room TVs. The hosts were lovely and accommodating and offered some great suggestions for sight-seeing and local restaurants. Highly recommend!

We had the entire top floor of this "castle." The place is beautiful and well-equipped and our host Jerry was attentive and gracious. Ireland is having a heat-wave so having the windows as well as the doors to both balconies open was a must. Unfortunately, we could hear the sheep bleating and the sun came in bright and early (5 am) in the master bedroom. Could have used just a sheet rather than a heavy duvet. Despite that, the views were amazing and it's a short drive to the river restaurant area for dinmer. The breakfast at Castledale was amazing! Best fruit plate and omlette we've ever had. Wish we had booked more than one night here. It was a beautiful place.
