Misleading - facebook page states "Holiday hostel & Bar offers delectable dishes in our high-quality restaurant, using locally sourced ingredients," Booking.com listing shows "Does Slieve League Lodge have a restaurant on site?, Slieve League Lodge has 2 restaurants:, Slieve League Lodge Restaurant. Restaurant #2--- Apart from breakfast, the restaurant is not open, staff say it hasn't been for some time. We booked to stay here because it seemed handy having somewhere to eat in the evening without having to travel out for food. Safety ----- firedoors on top floor of accommodation were propped open, should remain closed. Plastic glass litter (from Saturday night's drinkers?) on stairwell outside bar door on morning 1, was still there on morning 2 on our departure, as was the bag of rubbish left outside the room next door to ours.

Déjà l établissement ne fait plus restaurant donc arrivé sur place on a dû se débrouiller pour manger alors qu il n y a rien autour ! On a été acheté de la nourriture à la supérette à côté ! Et manger dans la chambre qui est sombre et donne sur la toiture délabrée de la maison d à côté ! Le pdj n est pas avant 9h donc faut attendre et c est très bruyant (bar en dessous) et on entend tout des chambres voisines ! A éviter surtout avec des enfants

La chambre n’est pas insonorisé, on entend parler les personnes dans la chambre au-dessus de nous , sonner leur réveil, etc

I booked a quadruple room for three people so that we would each have a bed. We were put in a triple room with a double bed and a single bed. I was still charged for the quad room. Prior to our stay, I had emailed about this, but received no response. At check=in, the man at the bar said there was nothing he could do about the price.

No food served in the evening although a good Indian takeaway up the road.

Tiny room with shared bathroom downstairs. Obvious that it was an interleading room for children. Same price charged as friends who were in a large room.

Mattress very poor, need immediate upgrade. We had 3 rooms and all 3 very poor and old . Bedding is bottom sheet was so Bally and worn I had to go to the press and get a cover to cover the sheet as irritation was overbearing. Pub was empty all night . Fun and music across the road in Evelyn's . Great night there had . Breakfast - was only continental. Was not told would not be hot breakfast when booking . Overall experience very poor. Woke every hour on the hour with hip.pain . Shocking .

Booked 2 nights here only stayed the one night cause the bed was like lying on blocks very uncomfortable..had stayed here about 4 years ago wrote about it then aswell .Last time we had a hot breakfast but now it's a few breads and cereals and they don't open breakfast till 10 .gone down hill alot such a pity for a good location

Reviewed Aug 13, 2026Ab 9:00 gab es ein sehr anständiges (kontinentales) Frühstück. Die MitarbeiterInnen waren sehr freundlich. In der Gemeinschaftsküche hat man die Möglichkeit, selber Mahlzeiten zuzubereiten.
Die Unterkunft war absolut in Ordnung. Der Ort hat nicht viel zu bieten - nur 2 Takeaway-Lokale und 2 Pubs ohne Essensangebot.

The room is small but rather nice, but the window cannot be opened to let some air in. The bed in not uncomfortable but soooo squeaky. The staff was very nice though.
Could be cleaner in the common areas.

Evening food was available in 1 location in the town but this was fine and it was tasty. Breakfast was continental and did the job. Staff couldn't be mute friendly and helpful. If I'm passing this way again I'd Def stay again

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026Gemütliche Zimmer und Pub im Erdgeschoss. Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür. In unmittelbarer Nähe ein sehr schöner Flusslauf mit Wanderweg.
Insgesamt in die Jahre gekommen. Die Zimmer waren im Haus umständlich zu erreichen. Diese lagen im Dachgeschoss und bei ungünstiger Wetterlage hat man sehr viele Außengeräusche durch Wind und Regen wahrgenommen.

Todavía estoy esperando el desayuno (lo sirven a partir de las 10h pero tenían que dejarme huevos, pan y leche en la cocina: el pan con moho, el resto missing). Todo necesita una seria reforma. Sábanas y toallas de color gris: se nota menos que están sobadas. Usé las mías.

2 nuits dans une chambre austère et pleine d araignées. La peinture a sauté sur une bonne partie du mur de la salle de bains . Lits au confort moyen et qui grincent. Et puis surtout le BRUIT ! Aucune insonorisation entre les chambres ou avec le couloir. Le 1er soir , obligés à 2h du matin de sortir de la chambre pour demander du silence . Le 2eme soir ( un samedi) la musique était encore plus forte que la veille . Les gens qui parlent fort ou qui klaxonnent à 1h du matin. Et nous n étions pas juste au dessus du bar mais de l autre côté du bâtiment ! Je n'ose pas imaginer pour les chambres de l autre côté du couloir et donc au dessus du bar. Nous ne nous sommes pas endormis avant 2h du matin... Attention petit-déjeuner UNIQUEMENT de 10h à 12h mais obligation de libérer la chambre à 11h... Pour le petit déjeuner seulement des œufs sous toutes ses formes sont proposés .

Reviewed Jun 21, 2026Aoife greeted us as we arrived . Kitchen was already closed but told us we could order food and bring it back. Lovely little spot , not too many frills but was clean and comfortable. Breakfast very good next morning and again served by the lovely Aoife. Plenty of coffee and tea to wake us up . Altogether a very pleasant stay.
I can't say too much as we didn't stay too long but bathroom a bit small, however, spotless clean .

Reviewed Jun 3, 2026La ubicación excelente, el personal muy agradable, el desayuno muy bueno. Tener el pub abajo es muy cómodo para poder cenar. Tener acceso a cocina, con mesas para poder comer o trabajar y sala de estar lo hace tremendamente funcional.
Alguna percha más en la habitación y en el baño así como una mesa o algo para poner las maletas en la habitación lo haría perfecto
