Reviewed Sep 2, 2026A bit further from the main station of Hualien and the center of the city but this is a benefit as both are quite within walkable reach! Beds are comfortable, and everything is in good condition (with one exception). The main area is a bit small but very comfortable and nicely decorated. The staff, the one I talked to, was very friendly, excited to give recommendations and also have a chat with. The environment is welcoming and it is good to meet other travellers too. It's the type of place that makes you wanna stay more. The slippers, with the no shoes rule, and the washing machine are very appreciated.
The bidet in the toilet fires like a firefighter's hose. So, using it is not really an option, not to mention the hilariously loud sound it makes.

Es ist zu hell in den Schlafräumen. Die Vorhänge am Fenster sind lichtdurchlässig und kein Bett ist wirklich rundum zu schließen. Wenn jemand sein Licht an hat, ist der ganze Raum hell.

Reviewed May 14, 2026We stayed at sleeping boot and which was about half way between the train/bus station and the night market in Hualien. Not super fancy but it was clean and they provided house slippers. Nice common are on the first floor. There were curtains but for the top bunk, the top was open so eye shaded is needed.
There was only one toilet per a floor. It was not a problem for us because it was not fully booked but could be a challenge. Because they are bunk beds rather than pods, you can feel the bed move when the top person enters/exits.

木頭的上下舖偏舊，會有咿呀咿呀的聲音。床鋪也偏薄。沒有電梯。

The host were extremely friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist and also recommended food to try at night market..! The overall vibe was comfortable and welcoming. Definitely one of the best places to stay if you want convenience and good service. Highly recommended!

Reviewed May 2, 2026Het voelt aan als thuis komen. Het personeel geeft je een veilig en huiselijk gevoel. Ze helpen je met kleine dingen. Ik had mijn enkel omgeslagen en ze hadden een coldpack voor mijn enkel. De dag erna had ik mijn schouders verbrand door de zon, ze boden me aloë vera aan op me te verzorgen. Ze houden gerust een geïntereseerde converasatie met u, zowel Engels als Chinees spreken ze vloeiend. Als ik in de toekomst nog eens een stop maak in Hualien, verblijf ik hier zeker opnieuw!

Reviewed Apr 11, 2026- The owner (Sam) is a legend, very helpful and kind with tips and knowledge about Taiwan and Hualien! - Ability to store bike securely inside the building at night. - Clean and tidy common areas and well equipped kitchen. - The 10-bed dorm has aircon as well as a balcony with a rack to dry clothes (there’s laundry facilities you can pay to use). - There are small lockers to store valuables or bigger lockers if you bring your own lock. - Supermarket, eateries and convenience stores nearby.
During the day, the front door remains unlocked but the hostel remains unattended. The dorms do not lock so in terms of security, anyone can enter the building and access the dorms.

No towels (despite picture of the room has them), barely any light in the room, bed could have been more comfortable and for a hostel - limited reception hours. I was rushing from the train to check in before 9PM and by the time I was leaving around 8AM there was no one so looks like place runs itself as I was advised by other guests what to do with my keys upon check out

The same thing I dont like all over the region-- taking off the shoes. But I got some house-flipflops at the PXMart that was only .5 miles away and they were cool with the flip flops.
