The staff at The Grand Orient Hotel were so helpful and polite,would highly recommend this magnificent hotel ,the bonus to staying in this hotel is the water park at the back of the hotel which only costs 25 MYR($8AUD),,thankyou very much to all the wonderful staff at the Grand Orient

Lovely pool and good size water park for the family day out. However the changing room @ toilet need maintenance, some of the toilet has no light, very dark and very creepy. Told the staff about the faulty but no one even take a note for the repairing. Went back for the waterpark next day and still the same no lighting and creepy toilet, very disappointed.

Very dirty hotel and very dirty pool, no pool cleaning made garbage in the pool and around the pool very much like food waste in the pool, no staff guarding the pool no pool guard guarding the safety of guests very dangerous, very dirty room garbage under the bed, torn towels, toilet drain, dirty mini bar, dirty drawers, hotel aircond is not cold, very dissatisfied. hope the management can monitor and solve such problems in the future.

My 1st room got a lots of ant and in the middle of the night ac problem so i have to switch to new room . And the new room got like more then 5 cockroach inside .

The room is small, and just basic. The parking is very limited, however the guard is being helpful enough to arrange a lot for me. The hotel offered small-concept water-part within the premise with 3 types of slides to offer and lazy river too. Value for money!

Stayed here for the water park as well as our transit point for our next journey Room was clean albeit small in size. Simple amenities was provided and water pressure was fairly good. The hallway leading to the room was also well maintained There is only 1 lift serving the establishment so if there is a lot of guest the wait can be a bit longer. Parking is available in front of the hotel but not many lots. Water park entry was included in our stay. However there was some pitfalls during our visit. Towels was not provided for hotel guest which I find it to be troublesome. I would suggest the management to provide it for your guest. Using the same towel at the water park to dry off after a clean shower in your own hotel room is certainly a NO. Workers was cleaning and scrubbing the dirt and algae in the pool while we were there. So you could imagine the end results. We didn't stay long in the pool. If the management plans to clean the water park maybe a better plan can be carried implemented without affecting the guests Washroom and showers is available at the water park. If it wasn't for the inconveniences caused it would have been a better stay

Water park

Stayed at Grand Orient for one night for a business trip, and even though the hotel catered more for families with children (they have an in-house water park, though I did not try it out), I was generally satisfied with my stay. Room: Being relatively new certainly helped them in this regard, as the room's fittings were good and intact and the room itself felt fresh despite not having any windows. Bed and linen were comfortable, and the room was equipped with basic amenities. They provided an ironing board and iron which was a handy addition. Toilet was clean and modern. My only complaint - the toilet had a small tube (most probably for draining air-conditioning condensate water) sticking out of the ceiling directly on top the sink, which dripped water once in a while. Definitely something that needs to be improved on. Also, the room was quite small and felt slightly cramped. Location: Not very conducive, as there are hardly any shops within walking distance. The nearest convenience store would be a petrol station, about a 5-minute walk away. You would have to drive out for food and goods. Staff: Professional and welcoming. No complaints. Conclusion: Even though the Grand Orient had an in-house water park and was more family-oriented, the hotel premises was generally clean. It is probably not well suited for certain target groups, so do bear in mind what your priorities are before considering this place. All in all an ok place, though I may have scored it higher if it weren't for the odd water leak issue in the toilet.

Very good.. With bfast..

1. The room is quite small. Not suitable for family with many kids. 2. Do not open the window because the mosquito will fly into the room. 3. Do not expose your food because will attract attention to ants. 4. The attraction of this hotel only because of the waterpark.

The room was small but comfortable especially the bed..the cleanliness in the room also good..but the theme park not really clean..the wall n cement was dirty and I with my kids got itchy all over our body after swimming there..the management should pay more attention on it since we need to pay to enter the theme park..the breakfast also moderate..not many choices..

Small boutique hotel with messy water park. Have to keep an eye on our belongings as it is a theme park kind of thing. Small and tiny room and bfast room is always lacking of seats. Too cramp for sitting together with family. Lift near the stairs always wet

Overall OK. Room very small. Parking Limited. Breakfast very limited choice, 2 days with same menu. Water park not free, need to pay. No eating place near the area, can order in-room service but if have function at the hotel, they will not entertain you and the staff said they only accept order food for Saturday night (Which we asked to order food was actually on Saturday night).

Grand Orient Perai Hotel, Penang has been in business for more than a year. It is considered a boutique hotel as it is a small number if rooms less than 50. Located behind BHP Petrol Station and BMW Showroom as landmarks to exit from the main road to the hotel. The rooms are on the small side and compact but quite comfortable. Air-cond. worked well, there is a cupboard to keep clothings, powerful shower spray, safe deposit, good sizeable TV with very clear pictures. For double bed there are 4 pillows which we like it very much. They have good supporting staff willing to assist. The breakfast though with limited choice but very delicious. The nasi lemak is the best and taste better than 5-Star hotel. Parking is available for about 30 cars but the are parking spaces outside the gate. Free wifi is available plus coffee & tea maker. Iron board is also available but we need to request for the iron without any problem. The hotel has a nice water theme which is a plus factor for family with children with entry fee of RM 15 for staying guests and they allow non hotel guests to use the facility too at slightly higher price than the staying guests. We find it a very interesting hotel with unique design using cut stone found in Bali. It is quite low priced hotel but with luxurious appearance. Don't judge the hotel by its outside looks because inside it is like a jungle.This hotel is shockingly amazing, this hotel is for mostly a family-friendly hotel and all the types of people who travel, it has a waterpark which will give lots of kids or even adults a lot of fun in it which has a couple of slides, a jacuzzi, a lazy river and a large swimming pool. The cafe which is located downstairs is so good! it shocked my taste buds of how good it is, it has fried rice, fried noodles, sausages and juice which is really nice. It has a gym too. The services here is amazing, the people here are really friendly and all of the toilets are really clean. The rooms are a bit small but it has an amazing bed which gave an amazing sleep. This hotel is located near condos and apartments which are really quiet. We have staying here for a week and so far it is amazing for our whole family! Tan Family

1.Make Up Room Pukul 4pm? Hotel mana yg hny kemas bilik 4pm? Once u guest check out, u suppose to clean the room. 2. Worst bfast. Ada 5 jenis makanan shj. Not worth it if u pay extra bfast. 3. Lift rosak? Dr pagi smpi petang.. And tiada emergency lift? Boleh bayangkan kesusahan kalau u bawak anak2 kecik and senior ppl. 4. The room ia too small with the price offer. Better check in hotel lain with much better service. 5. The only reason i've choose to try this hotel is becoz of the theme park.. But still No Worth It. 6. 1st and last. Will not recommeded this hotel to others.

Have a good hospitality for staying here about 1 week. Have a very awesome gym for exercise. Also have a quite good swimming pool just for relax and the mini waterpark also good for visitors who are staying or holiday with kids and family. Otherwise, the breakfast quite not so good. Just a rotating menu for the whole week and sometimes same menu everyday. Quite a boring menu served for the free breakfast. Wifi connection are impressive. So don't worry about wifi connection 😋

Stay for one night. Overall the stay was satisfied. No major issue. Hotel are very new. But the breakfast was so simple. Need to upgrade on that. Theme park still not open. Was informed by hotel staff that it will open in one month time. Swimming pool are available for use.

Took a room that accomodates 3 paxs and by 3 paxs, it really only fits for 3 paxs and there arent any space left for luggages and walkway as the rooms are very small. It feels crowded as the room size is too small eventhough its a family room. There are no breakfast or cafe in the hotel and the nearest food centre, you have to drive there as it is not within walking distance. The waterpark is not open yet or it is closed already im not too sure. Location wise for this hotel is not favourable as it is away from attraction places nor there are any food stalls around the hotel unless you have a car and are able to drive around. My family name this hotel as a 'jungle' hotel due to the location and surrounding area.

Brand new hotel in this vicinity, just about a couple of weeks old as I write this review. Near to Penang Mall (a dying mall unfortunately), Juru auto city (approx 10 mins drive), Sunway Carnival Mall (10 mins drive). The location of the hotel is not in a much favorable place, as I missed my turning to the small road on my first drive, it needs to put up a signboard on the turning. And it has no restaurant or cafe or any street food nearby (I mean walking distance), you need to drive out to get a nasi goreng (Malay fried rice). Don't expect a room service yet, because the hotel restaurant is not yet in operation, it doesn't even serve breakfast yet. This hotel has a in house water park, which is not yet functioning as it just started operation. But I can forsee there won't be enough parking space once everything begins to function. There is a mosque at very close distance, love it or loath it if you might, load speaker delivering some religious message beside the usual prayer calls. Besides all the above, it's a nice and clean hotel since it is still brand new. Enjoy it while it lasts!
