Coachman Motel

Dated but very clean and maintained. Perfect for a night stop over.

We arrived late and walked into a lovely warm room, that was very much appreciated.

Very cosy, warm unit, and a comfortable bed and pillows. A bit of road noise but it didn't stop us sleeping. Shower okay but maybe needs some attention to the spray distribution

All we wanted, very convenient location, well equipped. Would recommend.

Had difficulty with booking. The cleaning lady ovrtseeing the place was very helpful.

Would like shower gel in the shower.

We had everything we needed, and it was a good price. All nice and clean.

Cosy a little tired

Easy friendly check in. Lovely clean room and good facilities. Road noise a problem, I came prepared with ear plugs and got a reasonable night's sleep. - almost needs triple glazing to help and a door that blocks out noise. Apart from that I have stayed here 2-3 times and always enjoyed my stay.

Accommodation great Dinning out not many opportunities

Ok

It was unfortunate the person on duty was too busy to talk or welcome us. She may have had an off day

By the side of the highway so take ear plugs! Cheap noisy plastic toilet seat. Good basic motel accommodation.

Nice place to stop over. Travelled with fiance and our 6yo, and the unit was clean, tidy and gave us all some space to ourselves.

I have stayed here before, its a good location for traveling the island between centers, just out of town. The downside is the volume of heavy trucks on the main road outside late at night. Reasonably priced and same standards as most other motels for the price. There is a good restaurant close by for dinner, good menue and a welcoming roaring fire, in winter.

Great overnight stop, would stay again.

Lots of road noise, curtains were not able to darken room as the lights were so bright outside room. Bed was only a double, partners movement transferred through mattress making sleeping not restful

Great place clean and lovely staff

So close to main road traffic noise is constant through the night …… take ear plugs! Otherwise a very pleasant stay

This was just an overnight stop to break the drive between Auckland and Wellington and was adequate for purpose

Wonderfully clean and comfy

The property was in a good location for an overnight stay but extremely noisy as it is on a main trucking route. The noise didn't stop until midnight!

Lovely, friendly hostess greeted us upon arrival, gave us the key and showed us our room. The location is very handy to all amenities, 2 minutes drive to the local shopping centre, nice restaurants, New World for snacks and drinks, right on State highway 1 for easy access. Cleanliness is tops, bed very comfortable, compliments to the hosts and we shall return soon.

Was clean

All very nice ,great staff

Convenient - hosts are thoughtful and kind.

Service was great, four of us all felt comfortable, room clean, small kitchenette perfect, friendly and helpful owner

Clean unit with everything you need, although a little dated. Very accommodating for a late check in. Would like a bed side on both sides of double bed as nowhere to put my water, phone and bits. Unfortunately it is bang on State Highway 1 with rail track too which is not ideal for a good nights sleep.

.

Tidy motel, pleasant friendly staff. Convenient motel when in transit

Conveniant location. Clean and comfortale

Nice quiet motel, close to town.

On state highway one, straight back on the road again in the morning

clean and tidy

Very nice and clean would go back again.

The Coachman is handy to town & although older style, it is comfortable & fine for a one night stopover. The receptionist was very helpful & we loved that she had warmed our room. Although on a busy highway, the traffic noise is minimal.

Very pleasant hosts, close to town of Taihape. Cleanliness of unit excellent.

Location being half way between Wellington and Hamilton. Good pricing compared to other motels in area

An excellent host & great for assisting with late arrival.

Clean and tidy, with seating outside and close to the Rustic Restaurant which serves up some lovely aged steak.

Modestly priced for convenient location with everything you need.

Very comfortable clean warm and homely. Wud stay here again

Compact good for overnight stay. Welcomed when we arrived, very helpful.

Excellent communication with the manager. Very clean.

It was very clean but I had little sleep with the noisy trucks on the highway

Comfortable and clean. Only drawback is Noise from number of truck movements - (not specific to this motel). No aircon.

Warm and inviting staff despite my late arrival. Showed me where everything was and were helpful.

Excellent place to stay , very clean and tidy. Close to town.

One of the best value for money motels I have every booked. Excellent for an overnight stop in Taihape.

This stay was in the middle of a drive from Wellington to Auckland, so well situated near the half way mark. No frills, but that was fine. Easy, friendly check in. Ample, free parking. Super clean. Comfortable.

Quiet considering it is on the main road, could do with air conditioning

It was clean comfortable affordable and had all the necessary equipment friendly cheerful staff

Nice motel within easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. Very tidy room.
