River Breeze Villa Bentota

The hotel is well maintained, peaceful and surrounded by greenery, with a nice swimming pool and a small grass area. The staff were friendly and helpful and the balcony on the top-floor room was a great place to relax and unwind.

The location is a little isolated, with no shops or restaurants within walking distance. The family room also didn’t have AC in the hall, but considering the reasonable price and overall comfortable stay, these are minor compromises; food can also be conveniently ordered online.

Extremely nice property owner, always glad to help with any requests. The bedrooms were extremely nice and showers were good. Overall the place looks and feels beautiful (the nature definitely helps with that, including many garden flowers and some animals)

We travelled with our family and River Breeze Villa Bentota exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, everything was well taken care of, and we had an exceptional stay — 10/10. The staff were excellent, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. The facilities, cleanliness, comfort, and overall value for money were all excellent. Our rooms were comfortable, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable, making it easy to get a good night's sleep. The breakfast spread was another highlight. We tried both the Sri Lankan breakfast and the English breakfast, and both were excellent. There was a good variety, and everything we had was enjoyable. The location was good and worked well for our family trip. Overall, this was a wonderful family stay that exceeded our expectations. Excellent service, comfortable accommodation, great food, and very good value for money. We would happily stay at River Breeze Villa Bentota again and highly recommend it to families looking for a relaxing stay.

The property is in an excellent location, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The owners were extremely friendly and kind, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Although there is no in-house restaurant, they thoughtfully provided all the necessary cooking facilities in the room, which was very convenient. They were always ready to offer help whenever needed. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and a very pleasant experience.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. A family run business that really cares about its guests - the owners couldn't do enough for us. Our ground floor room was spacious and very clean and looked out onto part of the gorgeous and beautifully maintained garden. We liked having a little kitchen where we could do basic meal preparation. The swimming pool is small but sparkling clean and was greatly appreciated as a way to cool down in such high temperatures. The guesthouse is in a quiet area, a good 20 minute walk from the beach, but it was easy to get a tuk tuk. We spent six days here and it was the perfect ending to our seven week trip.

Velmi doporučujeme!!! Toto ubytování bylo jedním z nejhezčích na Srí Lance - hezká lokalita poblíž řeky, všude zeleň, kvetoucí keře, velmi čistý bazén, skvěle zařízené a čisťounké pokoje (jsou to vlastně spíš apartmány s vlastní koupelnou, kuchyňkou, posezením apod.). Ubytování nabízí i skvělé snídaně. Ze 3 dnů, které jsme tu měli strávit, se díky odloženým letům do Evropy stalo více než 14 dní. Když jsme přijeli, přivítal nás tu úžasně milý personál, Ruchira a její blízcí, při odjezdu jsme je už vnímali jako rodinu. Vyšli nám ve všem vstříc a moc nám pomohli (nakonec se nám od nich neodjíždělo zrovna lehce...). Rodina má jezevčíka Tía, i toho jsme si zamilovali. Taky se nám moc líbilo pozorovat zvířata, která žijí v okolí domu - zábavné malé veverky, gekony a ještěry podobné chameleonům, ptáky... Je to tu prostě moc fajn a místo můžeme jedině doporučit. Až zase zamíříme do Bentoty, bude to znovu do River Breeze vily :-)

הארכתי את השהות שלי בשבוע נוסף, מאחר והטיסה שלי בוטלה בגלל המצב הבטחוני וסגירת שדות התעופה.היו בווילה עוד משפחות עם ילדים באותו מצב שלי של אי וודאות וחוסר אונים.בעלת הוילה אחותה ושאר הצוות היו שם במלוא הנכונות לעשות את כל שניתן לתת לכולנו האורחים את הרגשה הכי טובה, הכי נוחה,והכי ביתית שרק אפשר,מה שעודד את כולנו שאנחנו מטופלים בדאגה רבה בכל דבר כמו: אוכל תרופות, הסעות לאן שצריך, ולכל דבר הנידרש לצורך האישי והפרטי של כל אחד מאיתנו.האווירה היתה נעימה במיוחד תמיד עם חיוך רחב ותשומת לב לכל הפרטים שעזרה רבות לשכוח מהמצב שניכפה עלינו.ללא ספק ניתן היה לראות ולהרגיש איך המנהלת ושאר הצוות עבדו במשך כל היום מסביב לשעון לבשל,לנקות,לתחזק את המקום בצורה הכי מושלמת,ולפנק אותנו בשייק פירות ועוד.היתה לי הרגשה של ביטחון ותמיכה מלאה בזמן של מצוקה. ברצוני להודות לרוצ'ירה בעלת המקום,אחותה הבשלנית המופלאה ושאר הצוות שהיו בשבילנו ועבורנו, ותמיד עם רצון הכי טוב לעזור מכל הלב.תודה ענקית וחיבוק גדול.

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and nicely decorated room - I can see why River Breeze get so many good reviews. The value for money is outstanding. I had the bedroom with a little sitting room and kitchen and a really nice bathroom. The owners are lovely and helpful and the swimming pool and garden area are lovely and also spotlessly clean. Location is very quiet but just 2 or 3 km to the busier areas and the beach. Highly recommended.

Wir hatten das Apartment im ersten Stock. Für uns war es qualitativ die beste Unterkunft im ganzen Urlaub, da es keinerlei Lärmbelästigung gab und dies mein Fokus ist. Weder Autos, noch Klimaanlage oder Nachbarn. Die Klima war super leise- sowas hatte ich noch nie. Das Apartment selbst ist großzügig und sehr sauber. Die Dusche war ebenfalls sehr gut. Guter Wasserdruck und heißes Wasser ohne Einschränkung. Besitzer sehr freundlich. Parken unseres tuktuk im Hof möglich. Zur Umgebung kann ich nichts sagen, wir waren auf der Durchreise und nur eine Nacht vor Ort.

Da ich Klimaanlage schlafe benötige ich eine dickere Decke. Mir wurde aber schnell ein zweites Laken geliefert. Darüber hinaus wäre ein mückennetz gut, da es sehr viele Stechmücken gibt. Der Kühlschrank „pfeift“ das ist etwas nervig.

Everything was perfect ! The owner , staff everyone was super helpful. Breakfast was delicious . Stayed 2 nights there and it was wonderful. Very clean and spacious rooms. Also the best part about the villa was “Theo” . Iam attaching theo’s pic below . If you’re looking for a great experience here and want to meet theo then do visit this place . I totally recommend .

That was my first booking in Sri Lanka and now I know it was one of the best, the cleanest and well kept places. The friendly owner welcomed me with a fresh juice, she helped me arrange tuk tuk rides when I struggled to do so in the app. The room was super spacious and clean, same goes for the bathroom. There is a mini kitchenette there as well with kettle, sink and fridge. The location is very peacful and only 10 minutes away from the more bustling center of Bentota.

clean place with great pool, plenty of squirrels (sweet), great breakfast and super friendly hosts, ideal organization of boat trip in mangrove forest in the morning - the guide was great - informative and positive attitude.

nothing really if we would be two people but I made reservation for three (including my 8 year old son) and the sofa bed was not there. Hosts found the solution with a chair and kind of small bed ai it was ok for one night for us. This should be changed on booking, but as it was recent change probably it has been corrected already. 😀

Прекрасный гест-хаус, приезжаем сюда с 2019 года. Один из самых чистых на шри-ланке. Белоснежное постельное белье и полотенца, меняют регулярно. Чистота безупречная в каждом уголке! Отзывчивая хозяйка, которая готова помочь в любых вопросах, ощущение, что приезжаешь к друзьям. Вкусные завтраки, которые подают в оговоренное время, когда вам удобно. Вайфай быстрый и работает без перебоев. Есть небольшой бассейн, кристально-чистый. Искренне рекомендую этот гест-хаус, он подойдет даже для самых взыскательных гостей. Соотношение цена качество соответствуют. Поистине райский уголок! Мы обязательно вернемся 🥰

We hadden onze tuktuk onder de overkapping gezet in de nacht De Volgende ochtend was de tuktuk zonder vragen naar buiten geduwd waarbij de zijflap uitgescheurd was! Hiervan melding gemaakt bij de host maar deze zijn dat dat al was en oude flap was De schade was er zeker niet en ook geen oude flap daar dec tuktuk nog geen 8000 km had gelopen en dus eigenlijk nieuw was Uiteindelijk toen ik bleef doordrammen dat ik dit moest gaan betalen bij het verhuurbedrijf bood ze aan de flap te lijmen Dit was uiteindelijk wel erg netjes gedaan Maar vond het niet fair dat ze er over loog

My girlfriend and me had a lovely stay-over, it was one night before she did the Skydive in Bentota and it was exactly what we needed. Clean, welcoming, and a lovely dog named Theo. I'd recommend this :)

The room was lovely with a private balcony where you could sit and a shared balcony where meals were served. The room was spotless and beautifully fitted -- a comfy bed and a super shower. Ruchira, the host, was so friendly and helpful- she took me on her bike to the beach which is gorgeous, offered to buy me a train ticket as I wanted to return by train, and helped me with a visit to Lunuganga Gardens. She also arranged a river safari for me with Harinder (Harin) who was an absolutely fantastic guide-- he spotted so many animals and birds and took me for one of the best river safaris I've ever been on. I highly recommend doing the river safari with him. Breakfast was excellent. I also ordered dinner there one night and the food was fabulous- made by Osaka, Ruchira's sister. Location was quiet, very pretty with lots of scope for nice walks, including to the Bentota Temple on the river. You could see the river in the distance but cant easily walk along the river. The beach is a short tuk tuk ride away and so are a number of restaurants. Its very easy and affordable to order a tuk tuk. Overall this was such an amazing stay-- I very much recommend it. The reviews that Ruchira has got are amazing -- but she more than deserves these wonderful reviews. I hope to be back again soon!

We liked everything!! The hosts were super kind, paid attention to every detail. We felt really comfortable. The villa is beautiful, the furniture really comfortable, the food amazing. The place is quite, and invites to stay, read a book, relax. Really clean, the kitchen is really handy, and the bathroom really new and very hot water. We will come back!!

The host is so kind and helpful, lovely, spacious and clean room with good ac and fan. Modern and clean bathroom with hot water which you can’t find in all accommodations in this country.

I sow some ants ( but apparently it’s so normal in Sri Lanka, you will find it in every room/ apartment). They didn’t provide us with shower gel/ shampoo, it wasn’t a problem for us because we had our own.

We booked this lovely accommodation from other reviews saying great things! I am about to say the same! The family hosts are so friendly, helpful and just simply wonderful. Definitely one of the best stays we had in our 3 weeks. Spacious, super clean and comfortable rooms. We had 2 rooms upstairs with 2 balconies. Peaceful lush surrounds and a very easy tuk tuk to beach or tours. Eating here is a must!! It is like restaurant quality food. Delicious! We spent our last 2 nights in Sri Lanka here. It was the perfect way to end a perfect 3 weeks.

Everything. This is the second time we have stayed here. Ruchira the host and all her staff were superb. She happily arranged trips (ask for Harry to take you on a river safari, he is superb at spotting things and loves nature) for us as well as tuktuks to get around and an airport taxi. She booked a table for us at a restaurant she recommended too. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The rooms are huge and well equipped, more like apartments, breakfast is varied and tasty, and the whole place and pool are spotlessly clean. Fresh coconut water as we sat by the pool was also a nice generous surprise Thank you We dont have a bad word to say about any of it.

Spotlessly clean premises, sparkling clean refreshing pool, we were warmly greeted with a delicious fruit drink upon arrival. Family run business, much nicer than staying at a hotel. Shower was amazing, plenty of water, the air-conditioning actually worked, not like another hotel we stayed in at Bentota beach. Lush surroundings, very peaceful, lors of birds, we would definitely stay here again. The meals are home made and were very tasty and were delivered to a table outside our room in the garden. Thank you so much for having us.

The property was very clean and host were excellent. The breakfast was lavish and tasty. Rooms had all the facilities except no toiletries were provided.

When you reservate room or breakfast, it is cheaper through booking.com than direct at host. In our case it was arround 25% more expensive. From my experience this is unusual, because direct they dont need to pay commission and should be same price if not cheaper.

The room had an attached kitchenette.

Location of the property is dim and distant. Approaching road is very narrow and unlit. So if you don't have a vehicle it is definitely a difficult and unsafe task to reach the place at night for a foreigner . Erroneous display of rooms and its inventory on booking.com. Advice to work on the pest control.

I had a pleasant stay at this cozy property nestled amidst nature. The peaceful surroundings and the welcoming attitude of the host made it a relaxing experience. The place is well-maintained, and having access to a kitchen was very convenient, especially since there are no restaurants nearby. Thank you for the warm hospitality. However, I feel the experience could be further enhanced by including complementary toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel, as well as basic tea and coffee sachets in the kitchen. The place is calm, green, spacious, fresh and extremely clean. The staff is welcoming and discreet, always at your hand if you need. The kitchen is a great plus.

Everything you could want & more - from getting off the train Pradeep was there to greet us with his tuk tuk - he works so hard from cleaning to organising tours and going that extra mile to make your stay fantastic. Along with his sister and older sister ( the chef) they run a fabulous boutique villa - everything was as expected - in fact the reviews made us choose this one- Whilst its location is a little out of the way ( 2 min walk to the main area) it’s tranquility cleanliness and high standards of accommodation is worth the walk- if you don’t fancy walking a tuk ride is 300 LK or about 90p We like walking so great for us Surrounded by green jungle gardens the wildlife and gardens are stunning The plunge pool looked inviting but sadly we didn’t get chance to use it. Pradeep is very proactive - he organised a tuk driver to take us to the temple and also the brief hard to see the bevis bawa sculptures and art. He also organise dinner for us on our last night and a bottle of wine ( which was half the cost of restaurants ) and even then it was cheap. If your thinking of visiting Bentota - this place is a must - clean - high spec - modern & the family customer service and communication is one of the best we have experienced anywhere in the world.

The host and his family were extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was very nice with a balcony looking over the pool. Breakfast was well prepared and tasty. Bathroom and shower were to a high quality and best we'd had on our trip. Overall, highly recommended.

The apartment was very large and absolutely spotlessly clean. It was great value for money and really nice breakfast with plenty to eat. It is so well maintained, if you want to stay in Bentota I 100% recommend this to you.

Big room equipped with kitchen (incl big fridge and gas stove), comfortable bed, tv, aircon and fan. Spotless bathroom with the best shower. Outside area with table/chairs and pool just outside the door. Genuinely friendly, help- and respectful family that owns the guesthouse. Made us feel at home immediately. They helped us with scooter rental, tuk tuk transport and all other questions that popped up during our stay. Star of the family is - of course - the dog Tio. Unbeatable price/value.

This was in a very quiet area. Kinda away from the busy roads and the rooms are very spacious than what we saw from the pictures very clean and there was a guy named Pradeep who was very helpful and very responsive. We didn’t experienced any issues during our stay.

Mobile signal coverage is kinda low but you can use there wifi, and limited parking areas.

Excellent and economical place for solo or family stay. Everything inside the property is just perfect to get feel of family atmosphere with very good clean and large rooms with facilities. The hosts take utmost care and handle all your needs in a breeze. Please experience a stay and you will never regret it.

Only issue can be the location which is a bit off the main road. But when you enter the premises you forget everything and fall in love with this place.

We had a wonderful stay at River Breeze Villa! The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with beautiful surroundings perfect for relaxation. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The location was excellent—close to Bentota Beach and other attractions, which made exploring easy. Highly recommend this villa for a peaceful getaway!

The staff was amazing. The son spoke very good English and they were super accomodaTing even though we were a bit demanding. i really liked the pool and the private beach area as well as the breakfast and the fresh towels we requested without problems. We rented a scooter there for a day tour and I heard on the last day that there were free bikes to rent. Overall it was an amazing stay nevertheless and we vould also order tuktuk that drove us close by to Mirissa or elsewhere

The AirCon was not included in the price like the other accomodations we stayed in, however you can use it for an additional fee

Road to apartment is narrow

The room was very big and spacious. It was very clean and the washroom was exceptional. It was super good and spacious. We liked the host, they were very caring and courteous. It was a lovely stat and excellent breakfast. Loved every bit. And the owner Pradeep and Ruchira were very helpful and kind.

Outstanding hospitality- the rooms are immaculately clean, beautiful and also very comfortable. The gardens are gorgeous and the pool is perfect. Room conditions were pretty good. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Looks and experience is a perfect match for the photos. Bathroom water pressure was excellent. There is a well maintained pool for you to dip in. Customer Service was really good. Ms. Ruchira was such a lovely host. Have just returned from Sri Lanka after two weeks holiday. The last 6 nights we stayed at the River breeze Villa Bentota. What an amazing experience. This small independent family run villa is situated about 1 minute walk from the river. A truly idyllic location for peaceful and relaxing holiday. The rooms were spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. We had a deluxe queen suite with balcony and air conditioning.T e rooms were cleaned every day. Thank you Pradeep. Every morning, our breakfast was brought to our balcony at the time we requested. Freshly prepared and so delicious. The bedding was changed every other day. The family work together as a team to keep the villa and guest rooms immaculately clean. The swimming pool is cleaned every day . A perfect temperature and very inviting. Perfect for an afternoon dip, to which we availed ourselves. The nearby beach, Bentota Beach. WOW. Unspoilt and very clean, safe for families, sunbeds and umbrellas available at a small cost. The beach is approx 10 minutes tuk tuk ride away, which the family will arrange . Either Pradeep or their Uncle will drive you there for 600 Sri Lanken Rupees return fare. let them know what time you would like to be collected, they will be there. Many restruants run parallel on the road from the beach. Public transport nearby.Also a railway station near the beach for trains to Galle and back to Colombo. The family work hard to make you welcome and your stay memorable. You could easily spend your whole holiday here. Perfect fora relaxing and peaceful holiday. First class hospitality given by Ruchira and her Family. We had two meals cooked by the family , both nights we had traditional vegetable curry and rice. So tasty , the best meals we ate in Bentota. Thank you for the delicious food and the Birthday Cake you arranged for my birthday. That was so considerate of you all. The village of Bentota is charming and very traditional. Airport transfers can be arranged by the family if required.

Pradeep and Ruchira are very hardworking people. They cater to the guest demands and are very responsive. Pradeep arranged dinner for us on a very short notice. The property is sparkling clean. Wish we would have stayed longer.

Pradeep and his sister were the perfect hosts, so friendly and welcoming. Pradeep is like a little genie, he appears and grants your every wish. Some 5 star hotels could learn a thing or two about how to treat guests from him. His sisters cooked us some delicious food too and like Pradeep always greeted us with big smiles. The rooms were absolutely spotless, spacious and very comfortable. The grounds were really well kept with beautiful flowering bushes and trees full of wonderful birds. There's a small and well maintained pool that was really welcome in the heat of Sri Lanka. I loved spending some time in there late in the afternoon to watch the fruit bats fly over and the parrots go to roost. Bentota has some fantastic beaches and restaurants, just a short tuk tuk ride away, provided by Pradeep and his uncle for less than £2 for a return trip. We had an amazing stay there. I really enjoyed my stay!! The room was very spacious and clean. It was nice to have a fridge, pool and very comfy bed. Highly recommend staying here. It felt very safe for solo female traveler
