Reviewed Aug 24, 2026Struttura semplice, a tratti un po' lasciata andare purtroppo. Richiederebbe alcuni interventi per rinfrescarla. Staff cordiale e disponibile nel fornire informazioni circa le escursioni da fare, Colazione non a buffet, semplice, poche cose ma buone. Cani meravigliosi.
Forse aggiungerei un succio di frutta o acqua alla colazione qualora non si voglia bere ne the ne caffè. Da riprendere la struttura in alcune cose nelle camere e bagni.

Reviewed Aug 22, 2026Het is voor ons werkelijk een stukje comfort geweest en dat was heerlijk! Toevallig hadden wij veel sneeuw en best wat kou, maar de kamer was altijd aangenaam. Zeker de warme douche en het bed waren een verademing. Daarnaast heb je geen gids of iets nodig. Stephan weet alles van de omgeving en staat te popelen je te woord te staan. Dat was niet alleen gezellig, maar ook nuttig! Daarnaast zijn de drie honden super lief, speels en heten je steeds welkom. Zeker boeken als je de prachtige omgeving van Lauca en Las Vicuñas wil ontdekken!

Reviewed Aug 16, 2026Hôtel très facile à trouver en arrivant à Putre. Propriétaire très accueillant et prévenant. Bon petit déjeuner. Literie confortable et couvertures chaudes.
Chambres très spartiates : 2 lits simples, une table, deux chaises et une salle d'eau et c'est tout. Une cuisine commune serait un plus appréciable. Un peu vétuste.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026Great owner, very caring. Always checking we had everything we needed. Gave us great tips on what to see and how to be safe. We were given a portable heater to keep us warm and hot water and tea for altitude sickness.
It’s expensive for what it is. The rooms are a bit tired. They need a proper clean and new lick of paint- dusty skirting boards and bug splats all over the walls.

Reviewed Aug 9, 2026Sehr gute ruhige Lage am Ortsrand. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und lecker. Heißes Wasser zum Duschen. Der Chef, Stefan, hat uns vielseitige Hinweise gegeben und war immer ansprechbar.
Das Hotel ist schon in die Jahre gekommen und hätte eine Renovierung nötig.

Reviewed Aug 6, 2026Zeer goede uitvalsbasis om Parque Nacional Lauca te bezoeken. Personeel is heel behulpzaam. Ze staan direct paraat om informatie te geven of te helpen bij problemen. Prachtige locatie om de sterrenhemel te bewonderen.
Het hotel is aan vernieuwing toe. Accomdatie is sterk verouderd. Verschillende zaken kapot (bv. lampen, douchebak dat water doorlaat in de badkamer, kraan dat wat los staat,...). Ontbijt is beperkt. Weinig keus en ook geen variatie over dagen heen.

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans la région de Putre. Cette région vaut largement celle de San Pedro de Atacama. Elle est plus sauvage et plus tranquille. L’établissement Las Vicunas est un excellent point de chute pour visiter cette magnifique région. Les deux frères qui tiennent cet établissement sont de très bons conseils pour visiter la région. Ils seront très bien vous conseiller, ils sont très sympathiques et non négligeable ils parlent très bien l‘anglais. De plus les chambres sont confortables et il y a même du chauffage. Putre est un village sympathique et les habitants y sont accueillants. Je recommande vivement cet hôtel et la région de Putre.

Reviewed Jul 1, 2026Accueil exceptionnel de Stephen avec qui nous avons pu partager son histoire de famille, son village, sa région ! L'excursion dans le parc de Lauca en pick-up privé était super ! On se croirait dans un western dans un village au bout du monde ! Le chauffage d'appoint est un vrai plus. Eau chaude dans la douche et petit-déjeuner complet. La salle de ping-pong est parfaite pour se poser et bénéficier du wifi.
Peut être juste rajouter un jus de fruit au petit déjeuner.

The room was clean and the beds were so warm and comfy! There were even three delightful dogs that kept our 16 year old entertained for the entire stay. It was just delightful!
There was nothing we didn’t like. It was perfect.

He is very knowledgeable and provided great tips for trips in the Lauca National Park. The location was very convenient, both for easy parking and walking distance to the village. All staff was very friendly. The facility is very simply, but for Putre standards very good. It has all you need for your stay. Breakfast was also nice. Overall, great experience. We would definitely stay here again.

Reviewed Apr 25, 2026Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt, bekammen Hilfe beim Gepäck sowie Hinweise zum Verhalten in der hohen Lage. Stephen hat uns wertvolle und hilfreiche Tipps zu Ausflügen in der Gegend gegeben. Seine herzliche Art und Hilfsbereitschaft waren unbezahlbar. Die Zimmer waren geräumig, sauber, spartanisch eingerichtet, geheizt wurde mit Elektrolüfter, Anfang April war es ausreichend. Die Lage ist ruhig und sehr gut.
Der Speiseraum beim Frühstück war nicht beheizt, es war kalt und ungemütlich beim Essen.

Reviewed Mar 20, 2026L'unica cosa buona è il fatto di essere a Putre, ma l'hotel ha con evidenza conosciuto tempi molto migliori.
Ci fidiamo sempre delle indicazioni tratte da Booking, ma in questo caso sono state smentite. Il degrado della struttura è palese e la pulizia non fa parte delle priorità, in particolare la vecchia moquette puzza di muffa, il bagno è da dimenticare, il riscaldamento è con stufetta che il responsabile della struttura suggerisce di spegnere di notte. Per colazione c'è il minimo indispensabile.

Reviewed Sep 29, 2025Cet établissement est une ancienne cité pour mineurs composée d'une multitude de bâtiments dont quelques uns seulement sont habitables. Le confort est sommaire, une restauration ne serait pas un luxe. Mais il y a tout, eau chaude, petit chauffage, etc... Le personnel est très gentil, le petit-déjeuner est correct. Seul bémol, le prix est élevé, ce qui fait que le rapport qualité-prix n'est vraiment pas bon. N'ayez pas peur des 3 bergers allemands, ils sont adorables, même parfois collants...!!

Reviewed Sep 7, 2025Siamo stati ospiti dell'hotel per 3 notti (mentre eravamo lì abbiamo deciso di aggiungere una notte in più). Il pueblo di Putre è super carino, servito con alimentari, qualche negozietto e ristoranti validi. L'hotel è all'inizio del paese, in una posizione ottima! Tutta la famiglia che gestisce l'hotel ci ha fatto sentire sin dal primo momento come "a casa" accoglienti e disponibili in caso di necessità. Noi siamo arrivati a Putre con auto 4x4 propria e abbiamo fatto tutte le escursioni in zona in autonomia, però su richiesta i proprietari organizzano tour guidati! Non potevamo trovare soluzione migliore. Grazie in particolare a Stephan, Luz Maria e Christian!

Reviewed Aug 29, 2025Gorgeous place with sooooo much amazing nature to see! The hosts were perfect and gave us excellent info. We fell in love with their dogs!! The breakfast was perfect. It's cold up there but they had a heater and super warm blankets. We were there at super cold time and were fine. Don't stress just bring good clothes for high mountain area! We spent a rest day in Putre and loved it. Great restaurant Casadona in town square by bank... bought the most amazing warm lama coat from amazing artisan on corner down from restaurant. Soooo warm and super cool!!!! Make sure u fill up on gas before you come to Putre.

Reviewed Aug 27, 2025Il personale è stato molto disponibile ed accogliente. Ci hanno fornito delle stufette elettriche per riscaldarci e le coperte erano estremamente calde. L’hotel si trova a due passi dal centro. I tre cani sono molto simpatici.
La struttura è abbastanza datata e non è dotata di riscaldamento quindi sebbene si possano usare per alcuni momenti le stufette l’ambiente rimane un po’ freddino. Ho provato a fare la doccia la sera e l’acqua calda non funzionava

Bed was comfortable, with good bedding. Shower was the hottest and most powerful we’ve had during our 12weeks in South America. Breakfast was tasty and always served with a smile, with opportunities to ask more questions about the area.
Room felt tired and dated BUT immaculately clean and was comfortable, just not modern day aesthetics.

When we arrived it was cold and wet, there is an electric heater provided for the bedrooms, which worked well but the bathroom and common areas are chilly. Be sure to bring warm clothes and jacket

The hotel could do with a refurbishment. There are 4 very large and very curious dogs on the hotel grounds. This might be fine if your are into dogs. For us it was rather annoying as they were trying to enter our room and car. One of them went so far as to chew my coat. Location was at the end of town, but most likely you are here with your own car anyway. We had booked two double rooms as a family because there were no other options on booking even though the hotel did have other rooms (at lower price) available. Also, we could have fit in one room only as the beds were rather large.

I was really happy to be able to book a room online, with no surprises when I checked in. Sunrise in the courtyard was great for birdwatching.
I don't have any major dislikes. It's an older hotel, but then so are most of the other hostels and hotels in the area. It met all our needs.

The location was great. The city of Putre gave us a good impression of the countryside. For fellow travellers: you should expect to organize and prepare yourself if you come to this region. But if you are up with simple living and enjoy this way of travelling - Putre, and specifically Las Vicuñas is a great place to visit.

Reviewed Dec 5, 2023Stay at high altitude for sporty people or those who want to strengthen their fitness. You can cycle up to 5250 m nearby ( Ruta A23 ) The hotel owner speaks fluently English. Very spacious rooms with very comfortable beds and very good mattresses. Spacious private parking at the hotel. A short walk from the center of Putre with a wide choice of small and good restaurants. In the neighborhood you can find also thermal bads or hotsprings to relax. Very good location for sporty people on high altitude or sportteams to do a altitude internship.

Reviewed Dec 22, 2022The hotel was well placed for access to the Lauca national park. The owner speaks excellent English and was very helpful in dealing with Europcar when we damaged our hire car. (n.b. Altitude sickness can seriously impair your driving ability, as we found to our cost. If we went there again we'd book an organised tour instead). The owner's husband took us on a good day tour to the north when our car was out of action.
The hotel is elderly (it was originally built to house mine workers) and needs renovating, particularly the bathrooms.

The owner Heinz drew a map for us of the key natural spots to look out for, lent us his own 2 warm jackets when we realised the weather was much colder than expected and he also recommended a brilliant detour on our way from putre to colchane, and we had nice breakfasts and dinners freshly prepared and good packed lunches, and amazing wine. You are at 3.5km altitude so the facilities were simpler, but the service was excellent. They really looked after us. Thanks for a great stay!

Reviewed Mar 9, 2018We stayed there one night in order to visit Lago Chungará, The town is surrounded by pretty scenery. It's about a 2 hour drive from Arica and then another one hour drive to Chungará. We saw lots of cute animals along the way. The hotel room was big with a table and lots of closets. The view from the room was pretty. Supper in the restaurant was affordable.

Reviewed Nov 10, 2017Please, be adviced to bring a 20 liters can of diesel with you to make sure your return to Arica. Or you will be in trouble.
