The hospitable staff

The interior is very old, bathrooms aren’t modern.. We could hear noise at the bar when we were trying to sleep.. no room phone, we didn’t like that there was no gate when entering the property it made us feel unsafe

The room was neath, bedding was clean and the tv worked properly. The water was nice and warm. All four of us could was in warm water after a long day on site.

It was not a newly renovated room which you can easily be noticed in the bathroom. But it was a nice and quite stay.

I liked the view from the room. The place was also quite empty and we almost had the entire facility to ourselves.

I didn't like the fact that our bed was made and we didn't get clean linen after the first night.

The small fridge in a 5 sleeper room The kettle smelled so bad from water that was in there for long We were not notify before hand the pool were going to be out of order. In the shower there is no slip mats and a dish to hold the soap. The bathroom was wet and we asked for a mop so no one came

The bar

There wasn't a light bulb in the lamp next to the main double bed.

Clean and comfortable

This was a lovely quiet stay. The unit was self- catering which was a plus as it was well equipped as well.

A well deserved rest. Like the peacefulness. Young staff very helpful.Room was ever day cleaned up with clean bedding and towels etc 👍👍👍

Rooms floor are not very clean. The Hotel is in renovation stages and the smell is disguisting. On our arrival we were told that for R1000 per night per room we actually booked "budget" accomodation but the will upgrade us... I felt humiliated as we travel alot and get VERY good rooms for that rate per night. Advertise Restaurant but its not open at all. Situated in a very dodgy area. I did not feel safe at all. Hand Shower fittings are gone...handles are loose...basin hangs away from wall...

The rooms lived up to the standard we saw on picture and it was spacious enough for two people.

The couch in the lounge area was a bit uncomfortable. It seemed more suited for outdoor furniture. There was no heater in the room as well.

Chalet 44 has no bathroom floor mats and the kitchen kettle is electrically faulty.It trips off power.

Anya and Mile,were very friendly and exceptional profesinial,my stay there where awsome.

Our welcoming by Anja and Brook was amazing, and that resulted in us booking another night. Love the room...the bed was devine!! Overall, we had a relaxing stay.

Bad smell in chalet. Very old and badly put together. No curtains in bathroom. No soaps. No nothing. Very rundown and shabby. I don’t know why they put us there when there are better rooms in the main hotel building. The manager wanted to refund me but only if I took down my complaints from the web. I refused. Incidentally, the price on Booking.com started at R2830 then it changed to R1630 later in the day. My family and I had to look for alternative accommodation which we luckily got at Sunset Lodge. Many thanks to Martin there. He really went out of his way to help us.

Breakfast nothing else, the hotel is run by internship girls mostly under the age of 20 which have minimal training and they all are trying their best , ownership of the hotel is pathetic, demarcation of the pool area which is supposedly under construction is open to the public at own risk even though they are aware that it is extremely dangerous, our friend fell in this area and found himself in theatre due to extremely slippery surfaces around and in the pool , no remorse was given by one of the owners when we return to the hotel after being at the hospital the hole day.after this whole episode the pool entrance was still open to the public with notices that say enter at own risk, which an child would never see or be able to read , it should closed off with danger tape as it is a health and safety risk.

The restaurant only serve breakfasts, no lunch or supper options available on site. No comfy lounger chair in room, no safe in room. No access to seafront from the hotel property.

Amazing stay! The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Benicke, who made the experience even more special with excellent service and hospitality. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Staff are very friendly and so accommodating.

Floors in the room where dirty, bed sheets where stained, glasses on arrivals where dirty. The room itself was not as per advertised, we viewed the family rooms online and the room we where given was not even on the app. Bathroom need a serious clean up, ventilation also needs to be looked at, along with a shower curtain so the bathroom floor isn't full of water after a shower.

We didn’t like anything about the property. The property still needs more renovations and complete the building plan cos what on the pictures online is not exactly when u arrive there

What they advertised online is not what we get when we arrived. Worse we had to use the back door to enter into our room cos the front door has a problem. Only one chair in the room, no table to use for eating and there was no microwave and ironer. The view was disappointing maybe bcos I’m coming from a proper sea view in Gordon’s Bay. IT IS NOT A HOTEL but it more of a Lodge or guest house.

We were given room 13. The room offered after we asked another room, did not have a sea view. We also had to move from one room to another between the Saturday and Sunday. Obviously we prevered to look for another place to stay. They are also revamping. Someone died in the place the previous day. This was a terrible experience.

Breakfast was bad and only one person who was serving poor experience. Location easy to find.

There was not enough cutlery for a stay no refill of coffee,no microwave worst of them all not even a sanitary bin at the bathroom not even a bin at all and why on website does not say that the pool is under construction. No gate at all.

What a gem. We had a great stay. Staff are amazing.

Loved everything but - no fault of the hotel - the mosquitoes mean business. Will take mozzie pads or Doom for the room at night next time.

The booking in by the receptionist was done in a very friendly manner. Also, the location close to shops, eateries and bars. Parking was convenient and close to the room.

We booked the room that they advertised but did not get it. It was a lesser room that we received. We also needed to book out the following morning by 10h00, but the cleaning person nearly entered the room at 09h30. I had to run out of the shower to stop her from coming in.

Very relaxing. Comfortable chalets. Friendly staff. They clean up while you are out. All around a pleasant stay.

This room is honestly a mess from an aesthetic point of view. It feels like a collection of random elements thrown together with zero thought for design or comfort. The bedroom area is particularly awkward. The black tufted headboard tries to look modern and luxurious, but it completely clashes with the rough, textured white walls and the visible wiring hanging down from the air conditioner. The TV is mounted off-center with cables just dangling—nothing is concealed, which makes the whole space feel unfinished and cheap rather than minimalist. The mismatched lighting fixtures on either side don’t help either; instead of creating symmetry or style, they just make the room feel unbalanced. The bathroom is even worse. It looks dated and purely functional, with dull grey tiles and a tired-looking shower curtain that does nothing to elevate the space. There’s no sense of cohesion or design—just basic fixtures that feel more like a temporary setup than a hotel you’d want to relax in. The exposed curtain rail and lack of any decorative touches make it feel cold and uninviting. The ceiling damage and visible stains in the last image are the final straw. Instead of a clean, polished finish, you’re left looking at uneven paint, cracks, and signs of poor maintenance. It gives the impression that upkeep is not a priority at all. Overall, the room feels neglected, mismatched, and poorly styled. It lacks warmth, cohesion, and any real attention to detail—definitely not what you’d expect from a comfortable or visually appealing hotel stay.

Balcony door could not lock. Plaqued by mosquitoes.... No bin in the bathroom...Breakfast menu all day was disappointing..... No information about renovations on the website....

The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The family room was big and clean. It was value for money.We will definitely be back and I recommend the hotel.

The hotel didnt have supper, during our stay only breakfast. They should also get a vending machine for snacks or drinks. Pool area is nice but very slippery.

The Staff is friendly. The pool table my kids enjoy it . And swimming pool..

I will like a microwave in the room .

The room was cleaned everyday and the facility was proper with pool tables and the staff very friendly to our kids.

Everything was above average, but I think what blew us away the most was the exceptional customer experience we received from Melany, one of the hotels interns. She blew us away from the first moment we met her. She made us feel welcomed and was very attentive to our needs etc. As a Guest Experience trainer I'm very impressed by how we were treated. Thank you so much! We had an amazing time.

Incredible staff

Run down facility All the very young staff girls have to wear very short skirts. I was expecting Geoffrey Epstein to appear any second.

From the minute we got there we were greeted by the friendliest group of girls. There was a bit of confusion on my part on the room that was booked but we managed to sort it out and upgraded to a sea facing room. The room itself was spotless however the layout is a bit weird with the open plan design but that was no biggie. The stay was wonderful and the staff were exceptional. A special shout out to Amy who offered to play pool with my son. The girls were so kind to him.

I wish the restaurant was fully operational for breakfast, lunch and dinner. However, the breakfast we ordered was really lovely. Also, our rooms weren’t cleaned while we were out.

The area is lacking town facilities for people to enjoy. There is a lot of property building happening but little infrastructure as in leisure businesses to support that. The original room offered was quite smelly. It was sea facing (not sea view) garden level. We had booked sea view with balcony. They moved us due to the smell to sea view with balcony (what we actually booked). So we got what we expected and the staff were very lovely about it.
