Riad Haj Thami

Our host Ali and his staff were the highlight of our stay. The Riad is well kept & welcoming set over 2 floors + a roof terrace. Our room didn't have an outside window, but it did have a working AC unit so we used this. A great & varied breakfast was served each morning with various fruits, pastries, omelette + coffee, milk & fresh orange juice. Very good value for money & most accommodating staff.

No natural ventilation in the room & bathroom sink was pretty small & some occasional thumping noises we could hear evening time as well. All was well other than this.

Séjour absolument exceptionnel dans l'établissement d'Ali ! Pour notre première fois à Marrakech, c'était bien mieux que nous ne l'espérions. Si vous cherchez un superbe établissement pour passer un bon séjour, vous êtes à la bonne adresse ! Tout était parfait du début à la fin: -L'emplacement est idéal, le centre de Marrakech est faisable en 15-20 minutes à pieds selon le point d'intérêt -L'établissement est d'une propreté impeccable; les chambres, la salle de bain et les espaces communs sont irréprochables et constamment nettoyés -Le petit déjeuner est excellent, copieux et servi avec amour. Tout comme le diner que nous avons bénéficié avant notre départ. Les gourmands seront ravis ! -Mais ce n'est rien comparé à la bienveillance, à la gentillesse, à l'amabilité d'Ali ainsi qu'au staff qui nous ont fait passé un excellent séjour! Nous étions ravies de constater que de belles personnes sont toujours présentes sur terre. -En bonus, il y a des chats partout.... pour les amoureux des chats, vous allez être servis!! Vraiment, un énorme merci à Ali et à toute l'équipe du Riad pour ce moment incroyable ! Nous serons de retour ! Clara & Sandra

El personal es excelente, siempre disponibles y encantadores. Te ayudan en todo y adaptan la hora del desayuno, teníamos actividades programadas muy temprano y se adaptan a la hora que les digas. La comida es muy buena, además soy celíaca y adaptaron la comida para mí. También te facilitan la recogida en el aeropuerto y la vuelta a la hora que les indiques, el chico que nos llevó al aeropuerto era muy agradable y servicial. En cuanto a la limpieza también fue excelente, te cambian las sábanas durante tu estancia. Muchas gracias a Ali y a las chicas que estaban sobre todo en las comidas, sois un encanto. Saludos!

La habitación era pequeña y el cuarto de baño también, pero es como se muestra en las fotos.

The hosts were very friendly and attentive. They made us feel extremely welcome. The breakfast was lovely. We felt very safe there and it made our trip very special. This was honestly the best stay I've had at any hotel/BnB/riad because the staff were so kind and accommodating. Thank you so much!

Hard bed and a tricky AC

We had a very pleasant stay at Riad Haj Thalia. Ali was an incredible host—super welcoming and communicative from the moment we arrived. He helped us coordinate taxis for our departure and even organized takeaway breakfasts for our early day trips. Most importantly, when we were feeling a bit under the weather for a couple of days, he looked after us with extra care, which we truly appreciated. The building itself is vibrant and colorful with clean, tidy rooms. Starting the day with breakfast on the terrace was a highlight! Also, it is located a bit further away from the chaos of the Medina center, which makes for a quieter stay. It’s important to note that the structure is more of a hotel style rather than a traditional courtyard Riad, but it’s a very nice experience regardless. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here and felt very well looked after. Thank you, Ali!

There are just two small things to keep in mind: the secondary roads leading to the property can put you off a little at the start, though they feel perfectly safe once you get to know the way. Also, while it’s kind to care for the local stray cats, having them sleep directly in front of the main entrance didn’t feel the most hygienic or welcoming for guests.

Il soggiorno è stato piacevole, abbastanza vicino alla piazza principale. Le camere sono confortevoli e pulite, la colazione abbondante sia dolce che salato, con la possibilità di farla in terrazza. La struttura in generale è tenuta bene e ha spazi relax piacevoli. Alì è stato disponibile per qualsiasi richiesta, anche per prenotare le escursioni direttamente e ci ha fornito consigli per visitare la Medina in sicurezza.

Incomodidad al entrar al baño

Ali è una di quelle persone che si incontrano raramente, è stata una fortuna essere sue ospiti. Un animo gentile, buono, sempre disponibile, una persona eccezionale, ci ha accontentate in tutto. Gli auguro tutto il bene, e se deciderete di passare del tempo nel suo riad, non solo sarete accolti con incredibile gentilezza in un gran bel posto, molto pulito, ma anche potrete fare colazioni e soprattutto cene che non troverete in altri posti di Marrakech. Cucina eccezionale! Spero di tornare!

Desayuno muy abundante y el huésped fue muy servicial, nos ayudó en todo momento y siempre que le pedimos cualquier cosa estaba a nuestra disposición.

The host is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean and the atmosphere is very nice. The roof terrace is nice. There are two cats who are very friendly and don't get in the way. It's a little down an alley but easy to find. Be aware of crooks trying to pose as someone from the hotel who wants to show you the way to the hotel. They want money from you when you get to the hotel, and they have noting to do with the hotel.

La chambre sans fenêtre donc sans aeration était minuscule et humide avec rien pour poser les affaires. Passage par la douche pour accéder aux toilettes.

The area is good and near the square just walking distance about 15 minutes which is not bad. The room was ok nice tidy and clean. I stayed there for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. Breakfast was good and the staff was too good to help you with everything. The manager was so kind and helpful and he looked after us properly

Nothing really. Just mentioning that the attached bathroom was too small and the shower head you have to hold with one hand. I didn't enjoy it much to take shower honestly.

Ali war ein super Host, immer zuvorkommend und freundlich. An dem üppigen Frühstück morgens war absolut nichts auszusetzen. Dieses wurde je nach Wunsch und Wetter entweder auf der Dachterrasse oder drinnen serviert. Für mich war die Lage gut, in knapp 15 Minuten konnte man die Innenstadt gut zu Fuẞ erreichen. Auch Pick-Up-Points für Ausflüge lagen in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Die Ausstattung des Zimmers war recht minimalistisch. Von der Größe her war es für eine Person angemessen. Es war nachts für mein Empfinden etwas zu hellhörig, aber mit Ohrstöpseln regulierbar.

Das kleine Hotel liegt am Rande der Souks, somit ist man in 10-20 Minuten Fußweg, je nach angedachten Ziel, am Ort des Geschehens. Das Personal ist super hilfsbereit und freundlich. Das Frühstück ist gut, verschiedene Brot- und Gebäcksorten, Joghurt, Ei, frisch gepresster Orangensaft und Tee oder Kaffe gehören zum Angebot. Wir haben unser Frühstück auf der Roof Top Terasse zu uns genommen. Der Empfangsbereich und die Gänge sind ansprechend und gemütlich im orientalischen Stil eingerichtet. Alles ist super sauber, Abends werden noch Düfte und Kerzen im Treppenhaus hergerichtet um uns "Heimkehrer" willkommen zu heißen. Wir hatten einen Nachtflug und durften unser Gepäck bis spät abends dort stehen lassen.

Das Bett war uns persönlich etwas zu hart, aber das ist ohnehin eine sehr persönliche Empfindung. Es könnten mehr Kleiderbügel und auch Vorrichtungen zum Aufhängen von Handtüchern vorhanden sein.

Wonderful hosts with a lovely family, very sweet children who were very proud to show off the street cats they were looking after which was an absolute highlight!!

Got lost on the first night but think this added to its charm!!

Je tiens à souligner l'extrême gentillesse et sens de la convivialité de Ali et de tout le personnel. Un petit-déjeuner somptueux fait maison servi avec beaucoup de professionnalisme, petits plats, belle vaisselle etc...le quartier est situé à l'écart de l'agitation touristique ce qui est très appréciable. Quartier typique et population très aimable

les chambres et salle d'eau manquent de maintenance et de rangements. Il suffirait de pas grand chose pour améliorer le confort et l'usage pratique. Un endroit pour accrocher les serviettes de toilette, quelques petites tablettes pour poser ses affaires. Certaines chambres n'ont pas de placard pour ranger les vêtements, ce qui est ennuyeux lorsque l'on séjourne une semaine. Ali nous a gentiment changé de chambre lorsqu'une "meilleure" a été libérée

This Riad gave really the feeling of Morrocco. In the morning waking up for birds, and fresh flowers at the breakfast table. Really nice, welcoming hosts.

La situation du Riad dans la médina, la propreté de l’établissement et la gentillesse de Ali. Les déjeuners sont parfaits.

Nice owner, helped us with everything and was very kind. The riad is a traditional place, in the middle.of Medina. No noise from outside. The room is small, but dark and there are no windows. The bed is hard but comfortable. The breakfast is made by local food, we liked the rooftop terrace where you can eat it. The cats are very sweet.

The bathroom was small. The door hit the toilett at opening. The room is not very spacious, not recommended for longer stays.

Es tal cual la fotos, aunque esta un poco alejado de la Plaza se llega caminando en 20 min y esta cerca de una puerta donde te puede dejar el taxi, el desayuno es excelente, todo muy casero. La habitacion es basica, el baño no olia bien, y faltarian percheros para colgar cosas, pero esta bien en general. Ali es super servicial y te ayuda en todo!!

La habitacion podria estar un poquito mejor, con mas detalles. Muy basico el baño tambien

Struttura carina nel piano superiore, staff molto gentile e disponibile, presenza di micetti

La stanza risultava essere piccola, con wc all’interno del piano doccia, condizionatore non riscaldava abbastanza, e la stanza quindi risultava fredda. Non c’era la presenza di phon, coperte aggiuntive, cassaforte e un solo asciugano doccia a testa ( con uno da condividere per mani/faccia)

The host was excellent! Upon arrival, he gave us very helpful advice on where to eat, what to visit, and the basic things to know. He offered to organize an airport transfer to the riad for €20 (about 200 DH). Since we arrived in Marrakech after dark, the riad is quite hidden in the old part of the medina, and it was our first time in Morocco, we accepted the price even though it was quite expensive. For comparison, the city bus to the medina costs only 4 DH per person. The room was fine but quite basic, with a bed, bedside tables, a table and chairs. There were no glasses in the room, but the host provided them immediately when we asked. Breakfast was good – a standard Moroccan breakfast in riads. Marrakech in January was not very cold, and the air conditioner worked well for heating the room and keeping it comfortable. The bed was very wide, the linen was clean, and the mattresses were comfortable. The pillows were a bit higher than we are used to, but still comfortable enough that we didn’t need to use our own travel pillows. Noise levels in the riad were typical for this type of accommodation, even lower than in some other riads we stayed in.

As mentioned, the riad is a bit far away, “on the other side of the medina,” and it takes about a 15-minute walk to reach the main square. I wouldn’t say it’s a good location for someone who wants to be in the center of the action, but it is a very good location for someone who wants to explore the medina. But its also very hard to get a taxi if you want to get somewhere quickly or to come back to the riad. The bathroom is small. The shower is right next to the toilet, so everything gets wet after showering. At least a curtain between them would be helpful. I also don’t understand why it is so difficult to install some hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels – I noticed this in several accommodations in Morocco. General cleanliness in the room could be improved. The bed linen was clean, but the floor and some other surfaces were not very clean. The room has no window to the outside, and although there was decent air circulation, the humidity in the room was noticeable.

The owner was nice and helpful, he helped us find taxies, let us keep our room for the day that we were leaving till late in the night, when we had our flight. He also kept our luggage one day that we were at a tour and packed us lunch. Really nice gestures :)

My Staying at Riad Haj Thami felt less like being a guest and more like being welcomed into a family. From the very first moment, Amina and Mariam took care of everything with incredible warmth, calm and attentiveness. Their presence created a sense of safety and genuine hospitality that is rare to find. Ali was equally kind and respectful — always helpful, attentive, and available without ever being intrusive. Everything was done with a natural “if you want”, which made the experience feel relaxed and deeply respectful. The riad itself is beautiful, clean, peaceful and full of soul. You can truly feel the Amazigh spirit here — hospitality that comes from the heart, not from obligation. Small gestures, care for daily comfort, and sincere kindness made this stay unforgettable. I am deeply grateful to all three of them. This was not just accommodation — it was a human experience I will carry with me. L’emplacement est parfait : le riad est situé dans la médina tout en restant très calme. Ali et toute l’équipe sont extrêmement accueillants, disponibles, et toujours de bon conseil. La chambre est propre, et le petit-déjeuner typique est copieux et délicieux !

Bardzo przytulny, przestronny, schludny i sympatyczny riad , znajdujący się na skraju medyny. Na tle riadów, które odwiedziliśmy wyróżnia się czystością , uroczym wnętrzem, gustownym wykończeniem, dbałością o detale, ale przede wszystkim bardzo miłą i pomocną obsługą. Zarówno manager Ali, jak i jego personel robili wszystko, aby czas spędzony w obiekcie, jak i poza nim był dla nas jak najbardziej beztroski i komfortowy. Przepyszne śniadanie i wyborna herbata. Bardzo duże i wygodne łóżko. Wspaniały taras na dachu, idealny zarówno do spożywania śniadań, jak i spędzania wieczorów. Życzyli byśmy sobie, aby wszystkie nasze pobyty w wakacyjnych obiektach tak wyglądały!

Może tylko odległość od Jamaa El-fna.

Riad superbement restauré au milieu de la Médina. Très joli et confortable. Petit déjeuner très copieux merci !

Pas de chauffage dans les parties communes. Pas de chance nous étions là une semaine de décembre où il a beaucoup plu. Le petit déjeuner dans le hall sans chauffage était compliqué. Pas fan des salles de bain avec douches sans bac qui arrosent les toilettes.

I liked everything about this Riad. It’s really beautiful and the location is great as it’s inside the medina but in a very quiet area so there was no noises during the night. It has heating and hot shower for the winter. The breakfast was delicious and rich with different options everyday and including fruit. The best of all is the staff. Ali and the women working there are extremely helpful, kind and considerate. This was definetly the best place we could have stayed and highly recommend it to everyone.

Quartier calme près du centre de la médina

A szállás nagyon kellemes, a szállásadó (Ali)nagyon segítőkész, mindenben segített, elénk jött robogóval az érkezéskor, reggelit utánunk hozta, mikor korán kellett indulnunk, rendelkezésre állt. A tetőterasz csodálatos megfelelő időben, most hideg volt! A riad színpompás, csodálatos, a szoba kellemes!

A szállást nehéz megtalálni, mert a gps nem a megfelelő helyre visz, többször kellett segítséget kérnünk, de a helybeliek nagyon segítőkészek, nem volt gond!

Riad centralissimo, pulito e spazioso, ma ciò che più abbiamo apprezzato durante la nostra permanenza è stata la gentilezza di Ali, che non ci ha mai fatto mancare nulla e si è sempre mostrato sorridente e disponibile. Io sono celiaca, e pensavo di poter trovare difficoltà durante la colazione, invece mi ha fatto trovare ogni mattina alimenti senza glutine e una ricca colazione che bastava per saziarsi durante tutta la prima parte della giornata. A ogni nostra richiesta si è mostrato super preparato nel venirci incontro, compresi i giorni in cui abbiamo chiesto di anticipare la colazione per escursioni prenotate sempre su Booking. Soggiorno top, assolutamente tutto perfetto!!

La colazione e' stata sempre molto buona, ricca e piena di cose buone da mangiare, ogni giorno Ali ci proponeva qualcosa di diverso, e tutto era preparato con cura e preparato molto bene. Da quando ci sedevamo a quando arrivava la colazione passava davvero poco. Abbiamo fatto colazione tutti i giorni in terrazza. Il bagno era piccolo, ma ben fornito con set di cortesia e asciugamani grandi e puliti.

Il bagno essendo piccolino non ha il piatto doccia, quindi fare la doccia e' un pochino scomodo, ma ci si abitua in fretta e alla mattina e' tutto asciutto.

Het personeel aas super vriendelijk!! Ontbijt werd gelijk voor ons gemaakt elke ochtend wanneer we de kamer uitkwamen en we kregen handige tips voor in de stad en een map

Je ruikt de afvoerput van de douche heel erg dus dat stonk en verder is er geen raam om te ventileren

Riad Haj Thami felt like home to us. Ali the Manager was so helpful with everything and the other staff were so hospitable and friendly. They made us morrocan tea and refreshments when we arrived and when we had been out exploring the city all day. Ali helped us with navigating our way around and helped us to and from taxis when we were going on tours. He helped with booking day tours and finding travel options for our next destinations. He assisted us to by a morrocan sim card so that we could use Google maps to find our way around too which really helped. Perfect location away from the hassle and bustle of the main square but only a 15 minute walk away. The rooms were clean and comfortable , with good storage. The matress was slightly hard but lovely crisp clean sheets. The roof terrace was a lovely place to sit and socialise and have our breakfast in the morning surrounded by pot plants and the two resident friendly cats. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning with cooked eggs, breads, Jams,yogurt and fruit with coffee and juice. During our stay in Morocco of 15nights, we stayed at the Riad on 3 separate occasions in between travelling to other parts of Morocco Every time we arrived back there, we felt as though we had come home. Nothing we didn't like

L’accueil par l’hôte du Riad, la proximité des lieux à visiter.

La chambre manque d’aération ( odeur de moisissure et d’égouts ) car elle ne permettait pas une aération optimale ( pas d’ouverture vers un patio ouvert). La chambre manquait également de confort et de rangement : le matelas était très dur, une petite commode et un porte manteau pour rangement. La salle de bain était minuscule et vétuste : on se douche quasiment sur les toilettes, le petit évier était descellé, une douille avec ampoule ….Le petit déjeuner était très sommaire et ne correspondait pas au descriptif. Nous avons fait remonter la problématique de la literie, l’hôte nous a proposé de changer de chambre mais malheureusement le confort était identique. Nous avons préféré partir après une nuit et perdre notre argent pour changer pour un autre Riad. Le quartier n’est pas très rassurant le soir.

Struttura accogliente, curata nei dettagli e pulita. Ottima la disponibilità di Ali anche nel gestire richieste extra. Nel caso si attiva per risolvere ed aiutare in ogni situazione ed in ogni orario. Terrazza molto accogliente dove Miriam coccola gli ospiti con thè e caffè a qualsiasi ora. Ottima anche la colazione. La Riad si trova in una zona in ottima posizione e tranquilla. Stanza con televisione, condizionatore e phon. Consigliatissima.

Come per la maggior parte delle Riad dove abbiamo soggiornato ha una unica finestra che affaccia sul cortile interno.

Stayed for 5 nights, arrived quite late but Ali made us very welcome. He was so helpful with getting sim cards for our phones (6€) and again when I left my phone in a taxi !!! He organised our journey from and to the airport..and our trip to the hot air balloon experience. Breakfast up on the terrace was delicious
