The Inn Patan

It is an amazing property, great location and overall the hotel building is an old woodenconstruction that feels authentic. Also there are really nice cafes and restaurants right next to it, so you dont need to go far for quality food and coffee.

The staff could be a bit nicer

A very nice hotel -- it felt incredibly luxurious for the price point. The bed was super comfy and the rooms were beautifully designed and very cozy. Really special place, I was able to get a massage in my room.

Rien

Ligging, het pand zelf. Eten was heerlijk. Vriendelijk personeel.

Beautiful guest house with a very charming and peaceful courtyard! The room was perfect and so cosy! The staff are so kind and friendly and the food is great! Honestly a perfect place to stay! Patan is an amazing area and it’s on the perfect part of the area ! Suuuuper clean as well ! It feels traditional and modern at the same time!

Nothing :)

It’s absolutely beautiful

Nothing

Old stylish building

Cold, no heat in the rooms or in the outdoor dining areas. Room was dark with minimal lighting. Hard to read a book. I could not shave in the bathroom as there was so little light to see what I was doing.

Really helpful staff, excellent location and lovely room - would recommend to friends and would love to stay again!

Inn Patan is a beautiful heritage hotel tucked away in a quiet alley, just a short walk from Patan’s historic square. The moment you step inside, it feels as if you’ve travelled back in time — the architecture and atmosphere capture the charm of old Kathmandu perfectly. The rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully designed, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of delicious options to start the day. A truly special place to stay in Patan.

x

Great place in the heart of local culture.

Quaint. Peaceful, comfortable, unique, excellent clean food, staff and owner made everything easy and go out of their way to make sure you are supported with anything you need.

Very lovely hotel with very nice people working there!

Perfect, peaceful location with a very kind staff, a very good cook.

The property is beautiful in the center of all the cultural things to see but down a passage away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The rooms are clean and comfortable and food great congratulations to the chef the chicken satay was awesome . But most importantly were the staff they were literally the kindest sweetest boys ready to help with anything and always with a smile . My trip was really made because of them I cannot thank them enough ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nothing really I enjoyed everything especially the cheesecake which I was recommended even though I don’t usually eat cheesecake it was indeed delicious 🤣🤣

Wonderful character, luxuriously comfortable with traditional charm. Excellent cappuccino and chocolate chip pancakes at breakfast.

Good location - haven of peace when you walk in compared to the Durbar

Ceilings are low so need to careful

All around great spot. Staff and location really stood out as exceptional

Absolutely beautiful, and phenomenal staff

The hotel is a wonderful heritage building in a fabulous location just beside the Durbar Square area. As it is set well back from the main road and the endless noise of motorbikes it is very quiet. The suite room was delightful. It is spacious and well furnished.and is very comfortable. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast in the courtyard was very good. There is a large variety of foods available to order. We have stayed here before and would definitely return to this hotel should we ever come back to Patan. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

The shower area in the bathroom really needs refurbishment. An outside very bright light shines into the room all night. As there are no curtains, just thin blinds on each window pane, the room is lit up the whole night.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Inn Patan. The room is spacious, the staff is ever friendly and they serve great food. What we very much appreciated was the patio, providing a serene and safe space to hang out and relax.

Fantastic friendly staff!

Fantastic location and delicious food! Beautiful heritage property and spacious comfy rooms.

Staying in a beautifully restored Newari home was a wonderful experience . Rooms were spacious . There are many stairs to get to the top so we stayed in room 4 as it was not too many stairs and nice view . Staff are all lovely and helpful . Great position only a few minutes walk to the Patan Durbar square

Everything was great

Inn Patan was a home away from home in the charming and regal Patan neighborhood. The building itself is transportive to a different era, and the room was elegant and thoughtfully designed as were the commons spaces. The food was delicious and the staff were all very kind.

The toiletries in the bathroom could have been improved, perhaps with the use of locally made Himalayan Ayurvedic products.

The Staff were awesome

The internet connection was not stable, I had to work during the day and my experience was not good

The location is amazing! In a quiet secluded alley, but less than 3 mins walk from Durbar Square! Beautifully renovated with an atmospheric courtyard

Had to ask for a hairdryer. No other negatives

Lovely, large room with yummy food, fabulous and informative staff in a great location.

Beautiful traditional hotel in the perfect location next to the Golden temple and the incredible square and museum . The surrounding laneways were filled with art and lovely restaurants but we ate at the hotel as their food was delicious. Management and all staff were welcoming and helpful in organising our travel to and from the airport.

Charming arcane great location

Not enough light in room for reading.

Loved the location, architecture of the building in traditional newari detail. Staff was amazing

nothing

The restaurant was good. The location of the properly is also prime. Overall, the heritage experience is good .

The location, the old heritage property, the staff and the food at the restaurant. Perfect

Nothing to complain about

Hotel was beautiful. The building is preserved so well and the decor was lovely. Wifi was good and restaurant staff were very kind. Quiet location.

The weather when I was in Kathmandu was cold (14* c) and I assume they have solar heating for the water as there was no hot water the duration of my stay.. Other guests also had the same issue which was unenjoyable as I had booked this place at a much higher price point than others in Kathmandu as I wanted comfort on arriving in Nepal and prior to trekking. There was also no heat source in the room except for the electric blanked on the bed and the lighting in my particular room was very dim, which was pretty, but made it challenging to do anything or even use the mirror in the bathroom outside of daylight hours. I also had an odd interaction with the night employee on arrival who kindly helped me with my bags but then would not leave my room until I had apologised and explained multiple times that I had not gotten any cash out yet for a tip as I had arrived at the airport close to midnight. It was not a great way to begin my stay or trip. Overall, for the price point in Nepal I would expect a higher level of comfort.

The food, WiFi and overall ambience was excellent. We came here for our first few days in Kathmandu, before journeying on to Pokhara and Chitwan. On our return, we chose to go back as we had enjoyed it so much.

Nothing

The Inn is ideally located, a short walk to Durbar Square with temples and museum and the Magal Bazaar The staff helped every day arrange our trips and organize drivers for us. Laundry service was fast and great. Once we walked down the alley to the Inn, all of the bustle and sounds of the city faded away and we were at peace.

Just beautiful

I lived in Patan, Nepal in 2006 and have returned several times to reconnect with my "Nepali Family" and the one of kind culture of the Kathmandu Valley. The Inn Patan is a treasured restoration of a traditional Newari home, and is a moments walk to Patan's Durbar Square. The property is extremely quiet, the on-site restaurant is excellent, and the staff are consistently wonderful and accommodating. My husband, friend and I throughly enjoyed our stay and will stay at The Inn Patan when we return to Nepal.

I enjoyed my stay here with friends very much! The Hotel building is really old and is renovated really well! The stuff is amazing, everyone is polite and nice. Location is great, next to Durbar square. It was clean, food was amazing! I would recommend everyone to stay here!

I enjoyed everything

Location great, loved that it was down an alleyway. Was nice and quiet, while still being able to hear the day to day life of Patan. A stones throw away from all the must see spots of Patan and a short taxi to Kathmandu central. Food - exceptional. Gorgeous room and staff - amazing. Loved my stay at the Inn Patan. Great Boutique hotel.

The Inn Patan is a beautiful property, with lovely rooms and a great courtyard area. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfast - which was included in the price - was enormous and delicious. The location was also fantastic: even though you're right in the middle of Patan near the square, it's very peaceful. I stayed in several properties in Nepal, and this was one of the few which had great wifi outdoors.

It was an absolutely magical experience to stay here. The room was cozy and beautiful. And the food was beyond our expectations.

Our stay was incredible… Everyone was so incredibly kind and helpful at every step of our stay. The premises are absolutely beautiful, and we appreciated every renovation that was made to the historic building. Location is fabulous… patan is less tourist dense than some other neighborhoods of Kathmandu, and it was close to attractions and dining opportunities, as well as historic attractions. The entrance is not difficult to find and it is easy to arrange taxis from the nearby patan square main gate.

The ONLY thing that could have improved is perhaps a heating source in the room… I can imagine it gets quite cold in the cold months. Also consider changing showerhead fixture position in room 7 because it is quite difficult to get your head directly under the stream. But the water was reliably, hot and lasted for duration of bathing! :)

From the moment we walked into the courtyard of The Inn Patan we were charmed. The owner, Buddha, has restored a 3 story 19th century house into a 9 room inn with meticulous taste. The young staff is ready to handle every need. This inn is not going to have all the facilities of a large mass market hotel, but if you are looking for a relaxing and authentic taste of Nepal you are not going to find a better spot. It is just down a little alleyway from Patan's Durbar Square so you are close to the most important historic areas. Our breakfasts and dinners were very well done; far better than I expected from a small establishment. Don't hesitate to book this tranquil little gem.

The hotel is beautiful, staff is friendly and helpful.

Location is good but not very convenient for taxis. Room can get very cold.

Excellent food

The hotel was adorable. We wanted to stay in a traditional type of hotel and we were happy to have chosen the Inn Patan! The staff was kind and helpful. We had a great time there. The room was a bit cold because there was no AC but no worries as the beds have heating :) Everything was perfect!

Excellent location for working in Patan with probably the best Chicken Thali I have tasted in all my years of living in Nepal

Bit chilly in the evening but nothing that couldn’t be sorted with an extra pullover

Beautiful architecture and space.

Some days there was a foul smell coming back through the drainage system.

The location and general boutique hotel ambience is perfect. It is all very tastefully decorated and furnished. The rooms are good, a bit small and definitely not convenient for tall people.

Low ceilings may be a challenge for tall guests

I booked to stay here 2 nights for Diwali (as a Hindu they kindly said I could join in with the celebrations with everyone there) but due to being in hospital I had to cancel. despite the cancellation period having expired they waived the money due for which I was very grateful for. I came to stay when I was well enough overnight before flight home and fell in love with the place! knowing I was still not well they upgraded me to a room on first floor which was beautiful with a balcony ( bigger than a normal balcony) so I could sit outside when I could. I was so touched and the owner came to ask me how I was and took time to speak to me a couple of times and make sure I was okay and arranged taxi for the airport too. I echo all the other reviews regarding the stunning place it’s just so traditional and the best place I stayed in over my 3 weeks in Nepal! The electric blanket in the bed was amazing ( I stayed in room 1). and the bed super comfortable. it was lovely and quiet and great location. The food is all freshly cooked and prepared and was super delicious! The staff are all so lovely and helpful and genuinely kind hearted! As a lone female I felt very safe here and in location. I cannot recommend this place enough what an amazing hidden jewel. I stayed in Thamel when I arrived and it was too busy and noisy. Patan is definitely much nicer and less busy. The breakfast was amazing and there are lots of choices on the menu for it and you cdd as n choose to have lunch and dinner there too which I did. Stay here you will love it! Thank you everyone 🙏

N/A

- location was perfect - charming setting and lovely renovation - friendly and helpful staff - excellent breakfast

- lack of sound proofing between bedrooms, kept awake by someone in the next room coughing all night

Charming little hotel right beside Durban Swuare Patan, the best Thali dish in the restaurant I had in all my travelling in Nepal. Loved it. Also good for solo travellers as other people are solo and chatty! Not in your face but just v friendly! The owner is chair of the Katmandu Preservation Trust and passionate about restoring old buildings

It’s wonderful. But I had just injured my back and found some of the low doorways a little difficult.

For architecture lovers because of its original Newari architecture and tastefully decorated rooms and courtyard. Literally 20 sec walk from Patan Durbar. Great breakfast and service and very accommodating when we needed to stay a few extra nights. We forgot some valuables which they safeguarded for us until we returned from our other travels.

We liked everything.

Great Breakfast, lovely architecture -- very close to Durbar Sq. Patan. Favorite place we stayed.

Superb location. It is a beautiful brick-and-timber Newari heritage hotel. Great ambience. We enjoyed having breakfast and dinner in the little courtyard.

Charming boutique hotel. the food was delicious. Its a great location so close to Patan Durbar Square.

The small taxi they had booked to take for of us to the hotel - it was not suitable for our party size and luggage. Ended up paying for two taxis.

A good location

The staff were very polite but not trained. Their were no toiletries in the bathroom. The price was very high for the services and comfort provided.

Incredibly friendly and attentive staff. The building is beautiful and full of charm. The area was perfect.

I love the location, despite being near Patan Durbar square, where there are temples and museum, the hotel is quiet. Bed and room very comfortable and even being summer, and not having AC, it was comfortable sleeping at night. The Staff was very friendly, picking me from the square and escorted me to the hotel. I arrived and was immediately welcomed with a nice cup of coffee, which I haven't had in a few days. I will definitely come back. It is a shame that tourists don't explore Nepal in all seasons. The hotel also recommended me a guide, who was very kind. Summer is a low season but the rain in the end of the day was nice and didn't interfere with my staying and explorations of Patan. Food was great too.

There was nothing that I didn't like.

The structure and ambience are exceptional. It’s so traditional, historic! Foods are very good as well! The staffs are very nice, helpful and friendly, but they need to be a bit more professional for serving the guests.

It’s quite dark even during the day, insufficient light is a big problem, I accept it’s a very different traditional hotel but at least there should be a television, air conditioner and some other amenities like tissue paper, shower gel, toothpaste and May be a hair dryer… because we are the traveler of 21st century.

It is very nice place if you looking for a traditional newari house. The staff is hospitality and friendly. Locatipn is good there is close to Patan square.

loved the overall feel and how they had restored the old architecture. The owner architect was very welcoming even thoug they were having the road outside redone at the time. Nothing was too much for them. Easy access to all the sight around Patan.

The doorways were low so did bump my head once but keeping them traditional added to the charm.

Original 160 yrs old building, fantastic taff, great kitchen offering wide choices all excellent food
