Riad Shambala

True to a traditional Moroccan Riad, we stayed in a suite on the first floor which was beautiful & overlooked the open courtyard. We didnt use the pool as we had busy plans for our short stay. The Berber breakfast was great & plentyful, we couldnt eat it all! Chaimae & her colleague who looked after us were amazing, very knowledgeable with the area & arranged a superb onward transfer, which turned out to be an excursion of sorts. Just brilliant.

Theres nothing much to be negative about at all, if i were picky enough i would probably prefer a softer pillow.

El sitio tiene encanto, pero está muy dejado y deteriorado.

Todo está deteriorado, no hay piscina, es una alberca de 1,50 x 2 m, incluso había una cucaracha flotando, la distancia del Riad a la plaza principal no llevaba 20 minutos como estaba en la descripción, tomaba una hora, no limpiaron en toda la estancia, ni hicieron la habitación, solo cambiaron las tohallas el último día, tohallas que parecían una lija, las sábanas y fundas tenían rotos con agujeros, las lámparas sin enchufes, los tenían cortados, los dosificadores de jabón y Shampo no funcionaban, los grifos goteaban, el internet no llegaba a la habitación, el propietario solo lo vimos la primera noche y no lo vimos más, el desayuno fue lo mismo durante 6 días, la ubicación es en el Marrakech profundo y da mucho miedo por la gente (drogadictos) que se aglomeran en esa área, todo a los alrededores lleno de basura, aunque nunca nos pasó nada, y si se quiere pagar con tarjeta les cobrarán una comisión de tarjeta aparte, en definitiva creo que por ese precio o un poco más hay Riad muchos mejores que este.

The roof terrace and plunge pool were welcome and location was right in the heart of the medina.

La habitación, estaba muy bien cuidada, la cama era comoda y muy grande para dos personas, dentro de la misma habitación hay un pequeño lavabo y su baño con ducha totalmente independiente. Tenia A/C, enchufes de sobra para cargar los moviles.

Goede locatie. Prima om alles te voet te doen. Alleen bezienswaardigheden waren maximaal 30 minuten lopen.

Was kleiner dan we hadden verwacht. Op de foto's leek het groter. En helaas werkte het zwembad in de binnentuin niet terwijl dit wel vermeld stond in. Hij was er meer voor de sfeer.

La localisation ainsi que la baignoire dans la chambre était charmante

We loved that Riad Shambala gave back the traditional Moroccan-Riad vibes and atmosphere. Also, the breakfast was great, typical Moroccan and Adam, the receptionist helped us with every single matter we had. He was especially kind, but the whole staff was very helpful throughout our stay. Absolutely recommended.

Nuestra habitación, sabanas con manchas, cortina que separaba el baño d la habitación era cortina de ducha

Habíamos reservado una habitación doble superior con cama de matrimonio y nos hemos encontrado una habitación con dos camas gemelas que las tuvieron que juntar . Las fotos no tiene nada que ver con la realidad , habitación muy pequeña , en el baño apenas se coge y muy deteriorado , con enchufes que no funcionan, grifos rotos . En la puerta del Riad gente consumiendo drogas que dan muy mala imagen e inseguridad.

Le personnel est agréable et le riad reste malgré tout très charmant.

La propreté est à revoir… Le petit déjeuner du matin était encore présent le soir sur la terrasse, l’odeur de canalisation dans les chambres était assez pesante, la wifi ne fonctionnait pas (même si ça ce n’est vraiment pas très grave), la situation géographique n’est pas non plus des plus idéales.Le transfert pour l’aéroport est vraiment cher (20€ vs. 15 dans un autre riad plus loin pourtant).

The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. This Riad is well located for tour pick ups and exploring the city. I had a wonderful sleep the bed is very comfortable and it has everything you need. I would recommend staying here and would definitely book again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Dès l’arrivée on nous dit que le TPE ne "marche pas" et on doit s’aventurer faire du change. Le change nous a coûter 50€ de frais supplémentaires. J’ai dû insister pour avoir une "facture" par whatsapp. On a passé 6 nuits et impossible de prendre un bain chaud. L’eau de la douche qui ne s’évacuait pas. Hygiène douteuse lors des petits déjeuner.

De riad is wat rustiger gelegen, niet direct in de drukke soeks maar toch op wandelafstand van alles. Het ontbijt was eenvoudig maar lekker. Comfortabele bedden.

Het was niet overal even proper, op veel plaatsen lag je stof liggen. Er kwam een rioolgeur uit het putje van de douche in de badkamer. In de gemeenschappelijke ruimtes maakte de riad een slordige indruk: handdoeken over de ballustrade, werkgerief aan de trap, etc... Met kleine dingetjes zou het een betere indruk kunnen wekken: een serviette bij de maaltijden, zout en peper op tafel, wat meer decoratie aan de muur in de kamer,...

Everything was very nice, the staff, location, service amazing.

The shower needs a curtain because a lot of water was splashing outside of it.

La nostra camera era piccola ma perfettamente pulita con cambi di biancheria ogni giorno. La presenza della vasca da bagno ha reso più rilassante il soggiorno. Un ringraziamento speciale va allo staff del riad, che ci ha dato una grande mano a gestire il nostro bambino piccolo. Abbiamo avuto pie o accesso alla cucina del riad per potere preparare del cibo per il bambino. Struttura silenziosissima.

Le dimensioni della stanza erano un pò piccole per due occupanti più un bambino e la culla fornitaci ha ulteriormente ridotto lo spazio per organizzare i bagagli.

Petit riad avec du charme. Karima est gentille et accueillante. La terrasse est très agréable. Les petits déjeuners sont bons. Décoré avec goût.

Les photos du site montrent des grands volumes. Ce qui n est pas le cas. La piscine est toute petite. Les chambres sont plus petites que sur les photos. Obligé de demander de changer des ampoules dans notre salle de bain car tout noir pour se doucher... Ce qui pourrait être géré en amont tout de même ! Nous avons eu une fuite d eau importante venant de la chambre du dessus qu occupaient ma fille et mon gendre. Ils les ont déplacé une nuit dans une autre.... Puis remis dans la première après réparation. Aucun dédommagement ni pour moi qui a eu de l eau sur le lit toute une nuit, ni pour eux qui ont du bouger 2 fois sur un séjour de 6 jours !!!! C est très très peu commercial ! Attention quartier très populaire et rue bruyante jusqu à minuit 1h du matin ou les enfants hurlent et les adultes boivent en parlant fort....

Le jeune Adam a ete un hote exceptionnel. La tranquilite du riad, la proximite de la grande ceinture rendant les excursions a l'exterieur de mArrakech plus faciles Le petit dejeuner copieux Le lit super confortable

Des voisins de chambre un peu bruyant un peu tard une nuit (sur 4) L'immense baignoire que l'on a pas pu utiliser car la fermeture de la bonde ne fonctionnait pas, dommage!

The location, decoration, rooms and staff were amazing! I especially loved the traditional ambiance, the tea and the food! The woman from the reception was always kind, polite and ready to help.

In Marrakesch sollte man unbedingt in einem Riad übernachten. Riad Schambala ist wunderschön gestaltet, mit vielen liebevollen Details in den Zimmern. Das Frühstück war hervorragend und die Lage ebenfalls sehr gut. Das Personal war hervorragend!!

A cozy and nicely decorated riad with comfortable beds and hot water in the shower. The staff were very kind and welcoming, and even gave me breakfast to take away. The riad is a bit far from the city center, so if you want to stay close to everything, this may not be ideal. There was also some noise at times, but overall it was a pleasant stay.

La struttura è molto pulita e si trova all’interno della Medina, posizione centralissima (10 min a piedi da Jardin Majorelle e 20 min a piedi da Jemaa El-Fnaa) . Younes e Khadija sono stati super disponibili, accoglienti e premurosi Colazione molto buona. Consiglio vivamente!!!!

Nous souhaitions vivre l’expérience au cœur de la médina de Marrakech. Le logement est bien situé, tout peut se faire à pied. La chambre était confortable, dans une ambiance tamisée. Le personnel était adorable et aux petits soins, ce qui a grandement contribué à rendre notre voyage encore plus agréable. Une belle expérience que nous recommandons vivement.

The staff were nice and welcoming. The location is very good if you stay in medina and the new Marrakech can be reached by foot in just 25 minutes. The room was clean.

The room me and my friend stayed was very different from pictures on the internet. There was no door to the toilet, just curtains which means there was no isolation and the smell in the room was unpleasant. Although we were offered a room upgrade after 2 nights, the first 2 were quite horrible. They don't accept cards, so the payment for the hotel had to be made on the spot via bank transfer and we were asked to give 20 euros in cash for taxes. Breakfast is just their two pieces of local bread and two eggs.

Yunes is an absolute star! The riad on its own is great but he made the experience 10x better! Very considerate, attentive & always willing to help. The lobby/breakfast area is absolutely beautiful & the terrace is also very nice 😊.

After searching for where to stay I. Marrakesh, hotels vs Riads, we ended with a Riad in order to experience the culture. It was a great decision. Although there are some things that could be better (WiFi), the experience was really good. We were well taken care of and both Karima and Yunuus went out of their way to make our stay memorable. It was walking distance to the medina and shops as well as some famous places. Overall, a great place to visit and would recommend if you are looking to enjoy the culture.

Personalet fremstod ret forvirrede da vi ankom. Vi blev ikke budt ordentligt velkommen og der var forvirring omkring hvor meget vi skulle betale for opholdet. Værelset var udemærket, men toilettet lugtede virkelig dårligt af kloak. Morgenmaden var skuffende.

Accueil excellent. Petit déjeuner délicieux. 1 chambre double très jolie. Belle décoration. Patio central ravissant.Des chauffages portatifs quand il a fait froid. Personnel charmant.

1 chambre à 2 lits pour les enfants sans porte pour les toilettes/ salle de bain, juste 1 rideau. Relents de canalisation et donc mauvaise odeur permanente dans cette chambre.

Внутри риада чисто, уютно и красиво. Очень приветливые хозяева и остальные сотрудники, вкусный марокканский завтрак, особенно понравился кофе с кардамоном и корицей. Удобная кровать и подушки, в номере интересное интерьерное решение - ванна прямо в номере, душ отдельно (там же).

Парковка довольно далеко и очень уж она специфическая: грязь и похожа на мусорную свалку. У стены медины тоже торговые ряды и тут же нечистоты. Но это скорее специфика центра города, а не риада.

La gentilezza dello staff, la pulizia, la cena e le colazioni ottime e varie. La posizione comoda sia per "perdersi" nella Medina che per uscire dalle mura. Il posto giusto per "vivere" Marrakech con le sue luci e le sue ombre

Il bagno con la tenda anziché la porta. Purtroppo i giorni del soggiorno non erano molto belli e la temperatura era freddina (dai 6 ai 10 gradi); di conseguenza ho patito un po' di freddo durante la colazione che è sui divanetti a bordo corte

Ho soggiornato in questo hotel e l’esperienza è stata davvero splendida. La struttura è molto bella, curata in ogni dettaglio e accogliente. Le camere sono confortevoli, pulitissime e arredate con gusto. Il personale è stato sempre gentile, disponibile e professionale, facendoci sentire subito a nostro agio. Ottima anche la posizione, comoda e piacevole. Un soggiorno rilassante e di qualità: lo consiglio vivamente!

Nous avions la Suite Senior avec baignoire qui est une belle et grande chambre. Petit déjeuner au top, emplacement proche du cœur de Marrakech. Équipe très serviable et dispo.

Humidité dans la chambre, l'eau chaude/froide se règle difficilement et en fonction du moment de la journee il y a plus ou moins de pression.

The Riad was lovely just what we wanted to get a taste of life in Marrakech. The rooms are traditional with large comfortable beds. A lovely breakfast is served every morning enough to set you up before you head out to explore the city. The best part of our stay at Riad Shambala hands down was the amazing staff Selma and the team made us feel like family such a lovely group of people so kind and friendly.
