It does not feel like a hotel. It has a warm cosy vibe. Decor is excellent Breakfast was perfect in a wonderful setting We arrived a bit early and instead of a push back we were shown our rooms and given a tea in the veranda.

Very interesting decor. Room had a door with a semi private garden and water feature, which created a calm atmosphere. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Self catering facilities are comprehensive.

I think I paid for a larger room, but was placed in a standard sized room. Not the end of the world, although I thought perhaps there should have been acknowledgement of this.

Maison H is a treasure of unique furniture and artwork. It was so much fun to stay there.

Well appointed cottage with self catering amenities, comfortable bed, clean and well maintained, great breakfast and service. Beautiful garden and pool area with beach access. Close proximity to Umhlanga Village and promenade.

Forest Drive is a busy road with traffic so one needs to be careful with access. Traffic noise during busy periods.

Returned having stayed there last year. Lovely place full of character, great service and lovely staff.

Lovely decor. Spacious room with kitchenette and huge bathroom. Very short walk to the beach to have lovely morning walk. We really enjoyed the monkeys drinking and birds bathing in dedicated bird pool outside our windows. Safe parking inside gates. Great location, a short drive to variety of restaurants.

We had a very comfortable 1 night stay at Maison H Guesthouse - very clean, spacious room with a beautiful garden, welcoming staff, and overall a great location with just a short walk to the oceanfront that we highly enjoyed. Would certainly return!

Very well equipped, even cotton and needles in the drawer. Many books to read, games to play. Filter coffee in the room. Really exceptional.

I liked everything about it. The location, we can take a walk without any worry and its a 7 minutes walk to the beach. The stuff is friendly and the host. The room is clean. They make you feel like home

Great location by the ocean, stylish and well furnished guest house with patio, garden, pool, lounge, parking. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The breakfast is excellent. The staff is professional and lovely, housekeeping is perfect. I immediately felt relaxed as at home, I will come back soon for sure!

Ne cherchez pas de défaut dans cette maison, il n’y en a pas. Piscine propre, grande, chaude. Jardin luxuriant, très bien entretenu. Garage dans l’enceinte de l’établissement. Calme absolu. Faible distance (en voiture) de Umhlanga Rocks, bons restaurants, jolie promenade de bord de mer. Chambre et lit grands, deco raffinée, petits gâteaux très bons et carafe de porto…..top ! Nous avions une chambre toute blanche donnant sur un patio, Magda nous a proposé, le lendemain de notre arrivée, une chambre plus grande, plus luxueuse que nous avons refusée car nous étions très bien dans la nôtre. Cela vous donne une idée de l’esprit qui règne dans cette maison. Le personnel de service et les 2 dames qui gèrent les lieux sont attentifs à votre confort, mieux encore puisque grâce à eux la maison devient la vôtre le temps de votre séjour. Prendre le temps de regarder les objets, partout, ils ont tous un charme fou.

I love this guesthouse... my preferred accommodation when traveling to Durban. Decor is wonderful and attention to detail is great.

Great location and beautiful setting!

Wir hatten ein Upgrade auf ein sehr schönes großes Zimmer mit einem Bad, dass so groß war, wie sonst schon mal das eigentliche Zimmer. Zum Zimmer gehörte auch noch ein heimeliger Außen Sitzplatz. An jedem Bett stand immer eine Karaffe mit frischem Wasser. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf hier. We hadden een eigen appartementje met slaapkamer, badkamer en woonkamer/keuken. Heerlijk ruim en smaakvol ingericht. Dat laatste geldt voor de hele guesthouse. Alles klopt daar. We hebben even naar binnen gekeken in een paar van de andere kamers en allemaal even mooi, ruim en licht. Verder een mooie tuin met heerlijk zwembad. Het strand is twee minuten lopen. Niet echt een gezellig badstrand, maar wel een ruige zee. Leuk om even te kijken en voor een wandeling, niet echt om te gaan liggen. Dan is het zwembad een stuk prettiger. Heerlijk ontbijtje. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk, speciale dank aan Prince die er alles aan deed om ons verblijf aangenaam te maken. We hopen ooit terug te komen bij dit guesthouse.

The breakfast was delicious and there were thoughtful touches everywhere like quality coffee.

In dieser Unterkunft ist wirklich an alles gedacht. Absolut entzückendes altes Haus. Der Pool ist auch toll. Der Garten sowieso. Und die Managerinnen geben einem das Gefühl, nach Hause zu kommen.

Ganz liebevoll gestaltetes Haus mit Super Service und sehr guten Frühstück. Gute Lage. Man ist direkt am Meer und ganz schnell bei allen möglichen Restaurants.

It was centrally located. The room was comfortable, clean and well equipped. The support staff were kind and the breakfast was delicious. There was an honesty bar but very limited.

Parking inside was tight. Also the owner was not welcoming and didn’t even mention her name despite our introduction. Rattled off the info and rules and only when l asked her name disclosed it. Seemed very conveyer belt. I left my cellphone plug and cord behind and despite an email and subsequent phone call where owner promised to return nothing transpired. We also both got gastroenteritis the day after we left and may have been the Dbn tap water which was placed in the room

The accomodation is exceptional. The hosts Debbie and Magda are sincere and genuinely care for their guests. The accomodation is clean, in a great location, safe for female solo travellers and has great amenities such as the pool and delicious breakfast (to name a couple). The hosts went the extra mile for my birthday which left me feeling valued. I anticipate returning to enjoy their warm yet exceptional hospitality.

Ein sehr liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Die Lage ist topp. Unweit vom Strand und Umhlanga. Wir hatten praktisch eine Wohnung mit eigenem Garten. Einfach super. Die Besitzerin und das Personal waren sehr zuvorkommend. Gute Essenstipps in benachbarten Trendsetterort.
