Dar Adul

I'm pretty speechless (doesn't happen often) and don't know where to start with how utterly wonderful, divine, memorable, warm, friendly, comfortable, kind, beautiful, well-equipped, scenic, 5 star location in the Medina, whilst being quiet, Dar Adul is. Mary, the owner has taken a prime location and building, with the roof terrace, stunning sea views to die for, retained the charm, upgraded it with mod-cons (and some amazing wifi) and kitted the accommodation with everything you could ask for, decorated it with most stunning local art and Moroccan furniture and a friendly, professional, wonderful, caring team (shout out Mohammed and Said) that elevate it a stay that it's really hard to say goodbye to. My second time to Essaouira, last time I was solo but this time I brought my 80 year old Mum and wanted her to experience the heart of the charismatic medina but was a tad worried, given her age with the notorious tricky buildings and potential pitfalls etc...Well Dar Adul was the dream. Easy for her to get around in (even up to the roof terrace), bright, comfortable everything, a pleasure to rest in, in-between gallivanting and with always someone on-hand with a smile if she (or I) needed anything and to witness how bold and joyful and adventurous it made her, even in this new, foreign place was the best gift to me. We were spoilt rotten! THANK YOU! Turns out I wasn't speechless!

Beautiful cool room with a comfy bed. Having a fridge was great, Views from the terrace were wonderful and the Riad was in a lovely quiet location.

La struttura è molto bella e il personale è fantastico! Sia la proprietaria Mary che tutti i ragazzi che lavorano in struttura sono stati gentili e disponibili ad aiutarci in qualsiasi cosa. Ci sono tutte le cose necessarie al soggiorno, ottime lenzuola e cuscini, asciugamani in abbondanza, il frigo in camera e un letto comodissimo. La colazione è preparata al momento ed è buonissima, ci sono degli spazi comuni molto belli e per ogni necessità, da divani comodi all’interno a un terrazzo molto accogliente e da cui si vede il mare e la Skala.

La vue des terrasses est magnifique, le personnel est aux petits soins et l’emplacement parfait pour se déplacer à pieds.

Die Unterkunft hat eine super Lage und ist von innen super schön eingerichtet. Es ist alles komplett sauber und es gibt eine tolle Aussicht vom Dach aus.

The property was unique- lovely artwork, individually designed rooms and lots of comfortable seating inside with a tasteful terrace overlooking the sea. However, what makes Dar Adul exceptional is the owner, Mary, and staff- Mohamed, Saiid, Khalid and Amina who were so kind, helpful and friendly.

Très bon accueil de l'équipe du Dar Adul. Très bonne installation dans notre chambre et très bonne communication avec le personnel. Très bon petit déjeuner sur la terrasse. On a pu laisser nos affaires dans une pièce du riad après avoir quitté notre chambre et en attendant de quitter Essaouira pour un dernier tour dans les souks. Riad très bien placé dans la médina et très calme la nuit.

Rien, tout était bien. On se sent un peu comme chez nous 🙂.

Everything about this property was truly special. The aesthetics, facilities, location, and rooms all contributed to a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were genuinely kind and well-spoken, making us feel cared for. Breakfast was absolutely delightful, and the terrace overlooking the sunset created a magical moment for us. It truly was the highlight of our trip, leaving us with cherished memories.

Eigentlich alles,bis auf die Größe des Zimmers( wir hatten allerdings auch das Kleinste aller Zimmer).Bisschen eng für 2 Koffer,aber die Stimmung im Riad macht das Alles wieder wett.Von uns aus: Eine klare Empfehlung für dieses Riad

Un séjour absolument magnifique ! J’ai beaucoup apprécié l’endroit, sa décoration soignée et son ambiance chaleureuse. Le personnel est adorable, très accueillant et toujours aux petits soins. Mention spéciale pour la terrasse avec sa superbe vue sur la mer, un vrai bonheur pour se détendre. Une très belle expérience que je recommande vivement, et je reviendrai avec grand plaisir ! Un grand merci à toute l’équipe ainsi qu’à la propriétaire pour leur accueil chaleureux, leur gentillesse et leur attention.

Excelente ubicación... Riad bonito con preciosas vistas dede la terraza. Se ve el constante trabajo y dedicación de su anfitriona Mary. Su personal es dedicado, amable siempre bien dispuesto a ayudar con una sonrisa. Todos fueron conmigo excepcionales, Khalid, Said, Khalid 2, y Mohamed.. así como la cocinera de los desayunos. Gracias por hacer de mi estancia inmejorable. La habitación era amplia bien decorada y con colchón y ropa de cama y baño de calidad. Volvería sin dudarlo. Shukran. 🫂🫂🫂🫂

Le Riad est magnifique et décoré avec beaucoup de goût, les chambres sont incroyables, spacieuses et confortables. Le roof top offre une vue sur les remparts et la mer, en résumé c’est un super Riad à réserver sans hésitation, hyper bien situé dans la médina. L’accueil est incroyable, on a apprécié le thé sur la terrasse dans l’après midi et le petit déjeuner était parfait. Merci à tous pour cette belle expérience !

Our family had such a lovely stay at Dar Adul. The location was excellent - close to everything but also really quiet at night. We stayed in the family suite which was spacious and very comfortable. The bedding was lovely and we were given lots of towels for our stay! The breakfasts were delicious and enormous but best of all was Mary the owner and her incredible staff. They were so warm, friendly and fun! We really enjoyed talking with them in English, French, Spanish and Berber hahaha!!! We really hope to be back!

Une superbe expérience, je recommande vivement ! Le Riad Dar Adul est un véritable havre de paix. Le cadre est magnifique et le service irréprochable. Le gros plus : Le petit-déjeuner préparé par Amina,un pur délice chaque matin ! L'accueil : Un grand merci à Khalid pour sa grande disponibilité et sa réactivité face à toutes nos demandes. Une adresse à retenir pour un prochain voyage !

I cannot recommend this Dar enough. It's beautiful. The communal spaces are lovely and the room was exceptional. The staff were friendly and informative. The view from the roof terrace was stunning. We had heavy sea mist/ fog whilst we stayed but sitting overlooking the sea and sunset was simply magical. Essaouira was lovely and if we make it back to this beautiful place we would definitely try and stay at dar Adul again.

Beautiful riad in a perfect location, right in the heart of Essaouira and within walking distance of all the main attractions, restaurants, cafés, and the beach. My family had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed their time here. The staff went above and beyond to make them feel welcome and were incredibly attentive throughout their stay. Highly recommended!

What I really liked the place was the terrace where I could enjoy breakfast and the views. The rooms were spacious and very large bathrooms.

L'humidité dans la chambre et l'odeur très tenace malgré un ventilateur et un déshumidificateur vétuste qui fonctionnaient non stop et la météo au top fin avril (temps sec et venteux, 21°). Peu de place dans la chambre pour ouvrir les valises. La 2e nuit impossible de dormir avant 1h du matin à cause de nos voisins de chambre italiens qui parlaient très fort, nous avons dû crier plusieurs fois pour qu'ils s'arrêtent, comme dans tous les riads l'isolation pas au top mais personne pour intervenir. Nous avons passé trois jours et deux nuitées, la propriétaire Mary n'est venue nous demander si tout allait bien qu'au moment de notre départ pour nous demander un avis sur Booking...

Es war ein Rundum perfektes Riad. Super freundlich, sehr hilfsbereit. Die Mitarbeiter haben teilweise Deutsch gesprochen. Es war super Sauber. Das Zimmer sehr geräumig und Schön. Wir kommen definitiv wieder

On a choisi pour le lieu, excellent, contre les remparts et au cœur de la médina, face à la mer. En plus on a aimé des hôtes très gentils (mention spéciale à Amina et ses msmen, oeufs brouillés, ....)

Riad in posizione super centrale. con spazi comuni e camera arredati in modo molto originale e decorativo, colazione molto ben assortita e abbondante, personale gentilissimo e disponibile, davvero una ottima accoglienza e un piacevole soggiorno a Essaouira.

Forse il bagno si potrebbe rinnovare un po', non ho apprezzato molto ill decoro a mosaico di lavabo e doccia , che non ho trovato molto funzionali.

The most lovely place! Mary, her team and Angus were so welcoming. Our room was amazing, as was the riad, the breakfast, the view, but the people are above all what made this place so incredible. We will remember our time in Essouaria for a long time to come and we are already planning our return (in the meantime we’ll be recommending this place to everyone). Thanks so much for having us!!!!

Nous avons très apprécié, l'accueil, la gentillesse, et la disponibilité de Mary et de toute l'équipe de Dar Adul; ensuite, l'authenticité du Ryad, et son emplacement dans la Médina, la qualité du petit déjeuner.

C'est un détail, mais s'il y avait eu des coussins dans le roof-top à mettre sur les "banquettes" carrelées, cela eut été plus confortable.

Tres bien situe. Tout a pied . Calme. Direction et personnel adorable. Le dar est joliment decore. On s y sent tres bien . Tres bon wifi partout. Nous avions la chambre du haut avec apercu mer. Le grand plus est une terrasse en roof top offrant une belle vue mer . Y boire un verre et prendre le soleil la journee est top . Y passer un moment la nuit en ecoutant le bruit des vagues et en admirant les mouettes passees dans le clair de lune a ete un moment magique . Bref une superbe adresse de charme que nous recommandons.

The owner Mary and the entire Dar Adul team, go above and beyond in making their guests stay special! The location is fantastic (just off the main streets) but it still feels tucked away and quiet. The property itself is gorgeous and a perfect balance between a traditional feel and modern comforts. We loved that our room had a kettle, coffee, black tea and a small refrigerator! The bed was very comfortable with luxurious linens. The bathroom had plenty of space, extra towels and the shower was nice and hot. The breakfasts were delicious, generous and they included eggs, cooked to order! The best part about this property is definitely the roof terrace, with tables and lounges and a breathtaking view over the Medina Wall to the sea! If you are in the lovely, laid back town of Essaouira, don’t miss the chance to stay at this incredibly well run and gorgeous gem!

The riad is absolutely beautiful with a great view of the sea, it feels so homely. Mary (the owner) is so kind and is so gracious with her time to all of the guests, all of the staff are also so friendly and really make you feel like you are at home.
