Las instalaciones no estaban acordes a lo que se muestra en fotos,, el precio no era apto para lo que ofrece, fallos en las instalaciones, ducha en mal estado, poca privacidad, nada cómodo.

Hotel is great value for money but slightly more run down than others locally. But if you're planning on spending most of your time on the beach then this is totally fine.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans ce petit hôtel local. L’emplacement est idéal. A deux pas de l’épicerie, de la rue principale et de la mer. Endroit très calme avec un beau jardin très bien entretenu. L’appartement était très propre, vaste, très fenestré et de ce fait bien ventilé . Les fenêtres sont équipées de moustiquaires et de grillages. Nous avons pu dormir en toute quiétude et on y entendait même les bruits des vagues.! La cuisine est bien équipée ce qui nous a permis de faire quelques repas et de profiter de la terrasse. Dernier point, tout le personnel est sympathique, souriant et toujours prêt à rendre service!

Nous étions un peu déçu de voir que le jacuzzi sur le toit n’est plus fonctionnel mais l’agréable jardin nous l’a vite fait oublier! Aussi, le parasol du jardin a besoin d’être remplacé…mais c’est un detail

Cozy, clean rooms, wooden furniture, mosquito nets. Kind staff. Decent quality for the price. Cute lil outside garden with trees, white metal chairs two adorable cats. Great position, incredibly close to the beach!

In the smaller room, the tap did not work very well. The big terrace of the structure could use a little maintainance, it has great potential.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a leak all night in our room with some of the leaking over our bed. Edry was very helpful and spoke to the manager and was able to get us a full refund.

I felt very welcomed by Edry and Joseph in the reception. Thanks🙏The location is perfect, very close to the beach, supermarket, bus stop, shops and restaurants. I felt very safe to walk around on my own. The room was okay with tv, WiFi and fridge.

It smelled smoke in the room from previous guests. Edry was very supportive and said that he could go to Janet’s and by an air freshener but I was okay leaving the window open and the fan on full speed.

The location is excellent for those who want to be in the heart of the action. It is very close to the main beach, which is surrounded by a great variety of restaurants. If you prefer a more natural or 'real' beach experience, be prepared for a bit of a walk to find the quieter spots. A major plus is the large supermarket nearby; it’s perfect for those who prefer to self-supply and save on dining out.

"Disappointing stay. As a professional water treatment specialist, I can confirm the plumbing in my room was in a state of total failure. The shower diverter valve was so worn it could no longer seal; water leaked from both the lower spout and the showerhead simultaneously. Because of this bypass, any slight drop in building-wide pressure caused the showerhead to stop working entirely. Furthermore, the toilet had a faulty seal in the tank, causing a constant 24/7 leak. Not only is this a massive waste of water, but the persistent running noise made it difficult to sleep. I reported these issues twice, but management was dismissive, pretending a weak trickle in the shower was 'normal.' It is clearly a case of neglected maintenance and poor management. To be told a broken fixture is 'fine'—when I manage these systems for a living—is insulting. I stayed for two days and couldn't even take a basic shower or get a quiet night's rest."

I loved the beach view. it would’ve been nice for the restaurant to be open even for breakfast. I was sorry the hot tub was not working. I think the new owner should put a little investment into this beautiful area. It could be made so much better.

The pillows were awful. Very lumpy uncomfortable and there is actually black mold on some walls. The room was very small

As digital nomads, the internet is not reliable enough to work from. Our room was right next to one of the WIFI routers and still was going in and out and not able to hold a teams call. The water was also not very hot for showers. Hotel management did accommodate us by refunding us the remaining days and we paid and stayed for only one night before moving to Kite Beach at an airbnb for the remainder of our stay and had no problems and even worked from the beach while watching the kite surfers which was very cool!

Everythings Perfect

My studio was very comfortable and clean. It had the basic supplies for cooking simple meals. I was very close to the beach, shopping and a variety of wonderful restaurants. A very convenient fresh fruit and vegetable stand was right outside the gates that offered delicious ready-made fruit salads as well as Dominican produce. The staff at Hotel Alegria were friendly and always ready to help with big smiles. Joseph in reception provided excellent service (including fresh coffee) along with the very nice cleaning and maintenance staff. I would stay for longer next time!

The room and property seemed to be a bit rundown and dated. TV in room didn’t work. Was ok, but not an ideal place to stay especially for the cost.

It is an old hotel but the staff is friendly and everything is clean, do not have a restaurant neither a bar but everything is close nearby, it is ok price versus location

Located about a 4 minute walk to beach( but not on beach), was quiet, close to other amenities, was reasonably priced, room was cleaned daily, staff were friendly.

Other than the free coffee, no food or snacks on site. There were good places to eat a stone’s throw away. Only accepted cash or PayPal ( which added costs).

The hotel is ok . . My room was soo dusty alot of mosquito. The room needed to be sweep. Needed to put in a humidity box. The bathroom needs more room it was too low.

Hotel Alegria is nestled between two bigger and fancier (more $$$) hotels (Velero Beach and Ultra Infinity). It should be mentioned up front that Alegria does not offer direct access to the beach, nor does it have a pool. However, the beach is only 5 min away on foot. Alegria’s location is excellent; only a few minutes to Janet’s supermarket and several inexpensive restaurants (Papi’s and La Cocina de Mami). Despite being close to Cabarete’s main street, Alegria is reasonably quiet. Alegria does not currently (Feb 2023) have food services, but coffee is available in the morning. The booking procedure is ‘different’ because Alegria doesn’t accept credit cards. We found out that this is not that unusual in Cabarete; many of the smaller restaurants don’t accept credit cards either. With respect to booking, one has to pay a deposit in advance (by PayPal) and pay the remainder (in cash) upon arrival. Once I understood the procedure, it all turned out OK. We had a 2-bedroom apartment on the ground floor (with 4 beds and 2 bathrooms). It was spacious and clean. Moreover, the place was cleaned thoroughly every day and the beds were made. The kitchen had most of the needed ‘stuff’ and we even used the gas oven once (with advice from the staff). The bathrooms were average with a functional shower and hot and cold water. There’s a safe. Drinking water is provided from five gallon containers. Importantly, the staff was very friendly and willing to help.

The location

I had a 6 night stay. Only one night I could lock my door. The lock on my door did not work after that. Staff tried to rectify it but in the end could not. Felt very uncomfortable that I could not lock my door with all my personal belongings and at night when I was sleeping. Staff reassureed that it was safe. Other staff apologized and said they will get someine to come and replace the next day but did not in the end.

Amber was particularly friendly welcoming us to the hotel.

I landed at this place because there was no other suitable availability near Cabarete beach for the dates I wanted. I paid the same price for this place that I would have paid at a 4 star nearby. The place is clean but the accommodations are extremely basic and poor quality. We had to pay cash which was not stipulated in our reservation. No one carries that much cash for safety reasons. Manager/Owner was also kind of rude to his Receptionist, Joseph. Needless to say, I will not be staying at this place in the future.

The property is unique! It is a simple room, but I have zero complaints considering the price. It was clean, spacious and had a beautiful view. I actually spilled water in the main space and wiped it up with a white towel, and the towel was not dirty when I finished.. I was impressed.

It was a decent hotel for a quick stay. Price was soooo good. If you’re not looking for a 5-star hotel when you’re on a road trip then it’s perfect.

Beware

This is a budget hotel and standards are commensurate with that. Cheap and well placed at centre of the strip. Top floor where the hot tub is was a bit of a building site. Floating chlorine dispenser had algae on it which was unattractive and left you in doubt about the water in the hot tub. Fridge, TV, safe etc all worked fine.

The restaurant was simple, good food, with great service. The hotel staff was super accommodating and very friendly. The building and room was in much need of a serious renovation, which was a shame to see because it had a lor of charm and could be a very beautiful hotel. The jacuzzi, well let's just say i would use it, and we didn't.

Old and outdated Needs remodeling Bathroom shower needs fixing

Great location and comfortable room on ground level with a small view of ocean. Must be able to climb steps if given an upper level room. Only suggestion is to remind guests they must pay in cash before checking out as hotels.com site was confusing; guests need time to get adequate cash since no credit cards accepted. Otherwise, nice experience in quiet hotel off from the main street with grocery very close!

Very good location, 5-10’ of walk of the center and is a quiete area, the supermarket is very close. Good quality/price, if you don’t have a lot of money to spend, this place is perfect for you. Some stuffs need to be fixed, like the shower or lavado, but still everything is fonctionnal!

My go-to hotel in Cabarete. Looking forward to coming back.

This was my first time in the DR & I really enjoyed my stay! The Hotel is in the community & I was able to mingle with the locals! The Owner was like “the Wizard of Oz” he helped me stay focused on why I was there & I appreciated his advice! Thx Peter for the route back to Punta Cana, that was great! Only regret was Domingo but I’m sure that will not be part of your concern! I really loved walking down to the beach each day & the room was very comfortable! I had a BLAST...

Good location. Close to center of Cabarete. 1 minute walk to Janets Supermarket. Our room had a view of ocean with AC. Reasonably priced. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Far enough away from the main street to keep the noise down.

Great little hotel, esoecially for the location and price. I had the non-AC room, but the fan was sufficient for me to stay cool enough every night I stayed in August. Shower was decent, but the bathroom light switch had problems working. They also started pressuring me to pay ther full amount in cash by the second night. There was no way to pay by credit card, which was really unfortunate, because taking out over $200 cash from an ATM and walking back to the hotel made me nervous. It was a little offensive the way they pushed me to pay quickly, as if they thought I was not going to pay.

In a good location with a three minute walk to the beach. Property is well planted with nice trees. The restaurant on the ground level is a nice place and the guys who run it are really friendly. It is almost right next to Jenets, a supermarket which is the main one in town. The owner is quite amiable and helpful and speaks English. I can't say anything negative about the place and the price is quite reasonable considering the good location.

Hotel Alegria is an affordable option with tons of character, friendly staff who speak English, an on-site cafe with healthy food and drink options, has its own access to the beach, and is located within easy walking distance to a supermarket, many fine dining restaurants and a fun night-life.

This hotel is certainly not luxurious or upscale and may be considered rustic by some. However, location was very good as it was close to the beach and Cabarete restaurants and bars. The room was cleaned each day and a ceiling fan kept the room comfortable at night. Although I didn't use it there was a hot tub on the roof with a panoramic view of the Cabarete landscape and ocean. A nice little bar area in the check in lobby had great breakfasts (not included in room) and drinks for later in the day. Because of it's location, cleanliness and nightly room rate I consider Hotel Algeria a great value and worthy of a 4 rating. I will defininately stay there when I return to Cabarete on my next trip!

This was my first visit to Cabarete after a 5 year absence. Back then, I traveled to Cabarete each week for 2 months and stayed in a different hotel. First of all, the hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. The hotel is very close to the only supermarket in town (Janet's supermarket), which has a small restaurant in the 2nd floor that serves daily a fairly wide variety of typical dominican dishes(rice & red beans, boiled chicken, boiled pork, grilled chicken, beef steak, salad and much more) only at lunch time (noon-2pm). If you, at some point, get tired of the beach restaurants, this is a great option and a very affordable one. The room has all the basics: A/C, Flat screen TV, cable TV, a small refrigerator, a shower, hot water and a small safe for your precious items, offered at no additional cost. I specifically asked for an ocean view room which happened to had a balcony. Wifi is also available. Access to the beach is very easy and it's just a mere 2 minute walk from the hotel's lobby through a corridor located between two neighboring hotels. From here and taking an additional 8 minute stroll along the sandy beach, you'll reach Downtown Cabarete, where all the action is. The surroundings as well as the installations are safe at any time of day or night. I felt very safe anywhere I went in Cabarete. Of course, basic personal security measures, as any other place in the world, should be taken. Price-quality relationship for this hotel is positively correlated.
