Reviewed Sep 11, 2026This was a bed only accommodation. The room was clean and tidy. The room was warm but you could open the window and there was a fan in the room.
The bathroom was clean but the shower was a bit old and it didn't drain very well. There was no noise from the bar or restaurant however the neighbouring rooms you could hear the toilets flushing which normally wouldn't be a problem but at 5am in the morning it was a bit much

No breakfast available but there was a cooker and fridge to bring/prepare your own.

No air condition even after spending so much money and that too in a superior room there was only fan so couldn't sleep well. It was self catering but there were no plates or pots or cutlery or nothing provided. Every drawer was empty. No phone for room service at all.

While the room was surface level clean, the shower head didn’t work properly, just dribbled as there was so much limescale, and the shower tray didn’t drain. The pub downstairs was playing music incredibly loud until midnight, at which point the punters left noisily, so not at all quiet or relaxing! The security fob system to the rooms was also broken, not great when you enter through the pub car park. The standard and experience meant it felt more like a private room at a hostel than a hotel, and without breakfast or even bottled water my stay was overall disappointing.

Reviewed Jul 9, 2026Reviewing the hotel not the pub. Clearly recently been renovated so decor was nice if very simple and cheap. plenty of parking. Friendly, helpful staff, good Indian food in the pub attached and Jubel on tap.
Bathroom had no window and stank of damp, was really pungent and made me feel sick everytime I had to open the door. Shower needed cleaning and the drain was blocked so kept having to turn it off to avoid it overflowing. Wide awake at 5am as no curtains in the room just some blinds which didn’t cover half the window. Not the owner’s fault that it’s a heatwave, and they did provide a fan, but it was extremely hot and the fan was really noisy. No hairdryer provided but the staff behind the bar in the pub did get one promptly when asked, most people wouldn’t have realised till the morning though and would have been stuck as there’s no staff available in the morning when the pub is shut.

The staff were lovely and friendly on arrival, the accomodation has its own entrance which is seperate to the pub which is only accessible by guests making it super secure. The bedroom was exceptionally clean and had everything you could want in it. Comfy bed, clean sheets, fan and a radiator. I was very happy with my stay and would 100% recommend it to anyone else. The property was also very easy to find.

Wasn't so attracted to the bar and menu, so took a short walk down the road to the Chieftain which had real ale on hand pumps and a traditional pub menu - try the pie and mash!

The electric shower was only very hot or very cold. The blinds did not keep the light out of the room and the old sash windows did not block out much noise from the road outside. No desk or table to work on and it felt like a hostel because there was no option to have breakfast or coffee in the morning on site (other than the kettle and instant sachets on offer in the room).
