Zug fährt quasi durchs Zimmer ;-) aber wir wurden immer so freundlich über die Gleise zum Strand begleitet, dass wir es ausblenden konnten.

The hotel is located in a quiet and very beautiful area. The food was very good and the beach well maintained.

The security system of the safe in the room. Although only we knew the PIN code, from the second day on it did not recognize it. After the staff unlocked the safe, we found that a significant amount of money was missing. Therefore, the safe does not provide security and you should not store valuables !

Everything and all.... Except the noise, but we're early sleepers so it's all relative.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft am Strand mit grosser guter Auswahl an Speisen.

Die Ausstattung des Zimmers war von sehr hohem Standard - wir hatten das Deluxe Doppelzimmer gebucht - groß, komfortabel, tolles Bad. Die Lage am Strand in Bentota ist sehr schön, der kurze Weg zum Strand vom Hotel ist überwiegend im Schatten. Duschen, Umkleidekabine, WC am Strand sind sehr schön und sauber.

Unser Deluxe Doppelzimmer war in einem Nebengebäude, der Weg zum Restaurant, zur Rezeption und zum Strand war umständlich, über den Garten zur Straße und dann wieder zurück in die Hotelanlage. Das Nebengebäude liegt an der Hauptstraße, Abends und früh morgens waren die Busse und LKW‘s ziemlich laut. Die Terrasse des Zimmers war sehr groß und schön, aber eigentlich kann man damit nicht viel anfangen weil morgens und abends Moskitos den Aufenthalt dort beeinträchtigen und der Ausblick nur in einen Baum und das daneben liegende Hotel geht. Das Frühstück wurde nach Auswahl pro Person gemacht - Eier und Toast waren meistens schon kalt als sie an den Tisch kamen, in den meisten anderen Hotels in SriLanka hatten wir Frühstücksbuffet was uns viel besser gefallen hat. Insgesamt wurden unsere hohen Erwartungen auf Grund der vielen sehr guten Bewertungen des Hotels nicht erfüllt.

Zimmer hellhörig, zu nah an der Straße Zugang zur Anlage über die Straße, obwohl direkt angrenzend Frühstück sehr beschränkt, Auswahl aus kleinem Menü dunkler Balkon Abendessen durchschnittlich

Sehr großes, toll ausgestattetes Zimmer mit einem Badetempel. Die Lage und die Ausstattung am Strand waren top!

Um auf das Zimmer zu gelangen muss man die Anlage verlassen. (War für und aber kein Problem)

Brilliant location, the beach is fantastic with sunbeds provided and the grounds beautifully maintained. Our room was very big, well equipped and clean. They let us check in early after we'd just flown in very weary which was gratefully appreciated.

Dinner at the restaurant was very disappointing, it came out tough and cold. Food at the beach cafe however was fantastic, our breakfast was good too.

Great location, beautiful by the beach, very relaxed vibe. Lovely staff. Huge, clean rooms. Convenient to have food/ drinks there.

The room we got was quite dark and tucked away which was great for temperature as it stayed cool but wasn't the most breathtaking spot. The vibe is also definitely more retiree - older crowd or families.

Unser erstes Zimmer hat uns nicht so gut gefallen, wir konnten dann in ein traumhaft schönes Zimmer umziehen

Tout. Nous avions réservé 2 chambres identiques, alors que celle de nos amis donnait sur les climatiseurs et était pas très lumineuse. Nous avons demandé un changement de chambre et on leur a proposé une chambre donnant sur la route. Du coup ils ont gardé la chambre donnant sur les climatiseurs et l’hôtel leur a offert les petits-déjeuners.

Le p’tit déjeuner est très bon, mais cher 10€/pers.pour le pays.

Хороший ресторан, был тут 12 лет назад, на этом месте был только ресторан, отеля не было. Качество ресторана не упало, цена чуть выше чем вокруг, но они это заслужили. Оплатить можно картой, что удобно. Теперь про отель. В номере чисто, полотенца меняют, сантехника в исправном состоянии. В целом персонал старается. У этого отеля оборудована пляжная зона, удобные шезлонги, сервис с едой и напитками, что удобно для тех кто привык. К пляжу оборудована дорожка через железную дорогу, стоит специальный человек, который следит чтобы вы безопасно пересекли железную дорогу. На пляже оборудованы туалеты (чисто), душ с пресной водой, кабинки для переодевания. Любите жить у моря на безлюдном пляже, это место именно такое. Мои ежедневные прогулки по пляжу в количестве 10 км были потрясающими. Природа, океан, белый шум, отсутствие людей. Мы брали полупансион, все по честному, выбирать будете из обычного меню, а не обрезанного (салат/стартер/+основное блюдо+десерт) напитки оплачиваются дополнительно. Если будете брать свежие море продукты вместо блюд из меню, делают хорошую скидку.

На мой вкус номер маловат (на пару ночей ок, но две недели будет тесно), окна выходили во двор на парковку ресторана, в общем вида из номера нет. Балкон есть, но из него дают парковку, поэтому есть он или нет, без вида он нам не нужен.

För höga vågor för att vara badvänligt för de inte så äventyrliga, men i övrigt fantastisk sandstrand utan klippor och stenar.

Everything. The hotel was perfect. First time in Sri Lanka and we couldn't have picked a better hotel for our first visit. The staff were marvellous inc the restaurant, the room staff, and the beach staff. The food was excellent and was that good that we ate in the hotel restaurant virtually every night. Fantastic new years eve party. Buffet in restaurant and then party on the beach. Thank you all for a perfect stay.

À éviter absolument L’emplacement est parfait et le logement était propre. En revanche, notre séjour a vite tourné au cauchemar. • Lorsqu’il a plu, le plafond s’est mis à fuir directement sur le lit. • L’extracteur de la cuisine, situé juste à côté, faisait un bruit insupportable toute la nuit. • Le plus étrange : une grosse bête (ressemblant à un castor) a même essayé de rentrer dans la chambre ! Nous avons payé un prix exorbitant pour deux nuits, et je trouve inacceptable d’avoir un hébergement dans un état aussi désastreux. 👉 Conseil : ne vous fiez pas aux photos. À fuir absolument.

Good daily rate but the restaurant is expensive for the area. It is a little further out from the main Bentota beach so you need to travel to the best swimming. It's a good place if you don't kind getting a tul tuk to the best beach. The staff were very helpful and always available

From the moment we arrived in Bentota, we knew we had found somewhere special. The staff at Amal Beach welcomed us warmly, making us feel right at home. Our room perfectly matched the serene surroundings—spacious, relaxing, and full of character. The hotel’s beachfront is truly charming, with plenty of sunbeds and a breathtaking view of the ocean. As night falls, the bar comes to life, and there’s nothing better than watching the sunset with a cocktail in hand after a refreshing swim—it’s pure bliss. The hotel is also conveniently located near some fantastic restaurants, and a short tuk-tuk ride can take you anywhere you need to go. Sadly, we only had two nights here, but every moment was unforgettable.

Steep stairs - anybody with a disability would be struggling.

We felt very welcome at Amal Beach and found the employees friendly and attentive. Our room and balcony were both spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, including fresh juice, fruit platter, toast and marmelade, eggs, curd and fresh coffee or tea. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, nearby sandy beach and took advantage of the 3-day Ayurvedic package just across the road.

Building works going on right next to our room, we were only here for one night but if it was a longer stay we would have asked to be moved. Maybe we were assigned this room because we were only staying for one night.

The beach is very accessible from rooms hardly 150 m. Very beautiful property.

Rooms amenities and food was average. Staff behaviour was not so good. They were not maintaining a peaceful and quite environment for guests when renovation was going on.

The hotel was amazing beachfront and exceeded expectations way far. The staff is absolutely fantastic, very helpful and very friendly. The hotel runs own restaurant and beach bar and both are superb. They serve fresh sea food, good choice of foods, very good breakfast. They have own green garden with pizza service in it. The room with balcony was very comfortable with very spacious bathroom. Few steps away from own beach with beach bar and sun beds. The beach is clean with perfect sand. Very green place. They can help to arrange sightseeing tours around, transfer to the airport and tuktuk to move around nearby village. The Manager and Front Office mangers are absolutely fantastic people and very helpful.

Amaal Beach hotel is a beach resort which has its own private beach. Starting from the rooms, the rooms were good, well kept and clean. There were two eating areas, one in the hotel premises and one on the beach side, both places were gorgeous and will definitely give you tropical vibes. It's a great place to stay, but just make sure to spend 2-4 days here to actually enjoy and relax at this stay.

It was my first time and I like it.

Breakfast was average. Fantastic beachfront location. No TV in rooms. No luggage stand to place your suitcase, we had to put our suitcase on the floor and bend down to reach (not easy for elderly person). The steep stairwell had no handrail making this difficult to climb if you have mobility issues. The shower drain was partially blocked and caused water build-up.

We came to Sri Lanka to enjoy its local cuisine and was highly disappointed that no Sri Lankan food appeared in the menu.

Nothing. It was awful. The staff was very unprofessional. Old guy at the gate was literally harassing after he kept soliciting to take us to the spa across the road. Felt as if they have something fishy going on in the spa. The beach view was also OK. Nothing as compared to Mirrisa. Only good enough to stop over for lunch or tea. Very expensive for the kind of place they have. Not recommended. Worst experience in Srilanka so far.

Good location on a great beach. Plenty of lounging beds. Nice walk through the greenery across the train line to the beach. Good airconditioner. Good parking. Good restaurant down the street.

We booked a Superior room. We wouldn't call this a Superior room. It was probably the worst room at the hotel so was superior to nothing. The room only had one small window that looked straight at a nearby wall. This made the room claustrophobic and dark. It came with an outdoor sitting area which in effect was just the landing for the stairway and it had no real view. It was a shared space with the room next door but only had enough chairs for one room. In the room there was either a bed to sit on or a couple of hard wooden chairs. Not a relaxing room.

The restaurant timing wasn’t flexible and it was very far from the city, had to rely on hotel only for commute.

The Resort is very close to the Beach. The restaurant in-between coconut trees looks very nice in the evening. .

Be careful with the breakfast. If you want a typical Sri Lankan breakfast then you need to order a day before. We were not told.about it and could not get any breakfast

Hotel with very outdated feeling. Only for a stop on a go, definitely not a resort to stay. For the same price we had beautiful accommodation everywhere else in Sri Lanka. Food was horrible (in a country where you would think it cannot go wrong). We tried noodles with prawns and prawns were not cleaned (and I’m not talking about shells - you could taste sand in between your teeth). Noodles were overcooked. We swapped to a club sandwich and we found a hair inside. Also it was served with some suspicious meat (assuming some cut of pork to replace bacon (it was black so hard to tell)). We had dinner included but didn’t really want to go after that lunch disaster (it was also not even cheap for Sri Lanka). However, we couldn’t find anything better around so we decided to go for a safe option - pizza (just to stuff ourselves after being hungry since the morning). No surprise - pizza tasted like 2$ frozen pizza (even if they have a good looking wood oven.

Very Clean, a lot of very friendly personal, great Service. Because of 3 Stars in booking.com we had no expactations and were really suprised how good it was. The fresh Fish of the Grill was one of the best i ever had. Also breakfast comes with lot of different Tasty options. 10/10 recomandation. Only the Shuttle Service is expensive. We decided to take Airport Shuttle for half the Price from a local.

On the beach, great food, friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Plenty of sunbeds on the beach. The hotel eating areas, entrances etc are beautifully kept, wonderful plants and lit up at night.

Often difficult to choose table we wanted for dinner as many were always reserved but no one actually came to the tables during the whole evening. We didn’t realise until the end of our stay that there was an upstairs seating area in the restaurant. We also didn’t realise until last day that sun loungers are reserved for you on the beach if you stay at hotel. Feel that this should have been explained to us on arrival. Also, you need to be aware that there is a 10% surcharge on all food/drink on the menu, which increases to 20% if you eat on the beach.

Good location, great beach, from Bentota along the beach 10-15 minutes on foot or by tuk tuk. Quiet, relaxing atmosphere, good Ayurvedic center with massage and swimming pool. A very good seafood restaurant, a little more expensive than in the village, but it's worth it.

They serve for a long time in the restaurant at breakfast and on the beach. There is no comfortable welcome area or lobby.

This was the cleanest, best maintained hotel that we stayed in, in Sri Lanka. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The hotel is actually best known as a sea good restaurant, with most customers coming there to eat. And the food was excellent. Great facilities on the beach, which is groomed daily to make sure it is also clean.

The impeccable location, the remoteness of the beach with one of the best experiences to relax and rejuvenate. They have property shacks on the beach where you can take a nice dip, sun bathe anx have some refreshing drinks post your dip. Its a small garden walk from room and that small walk also offers many experience to relax at the property and enjoy nature. It also is situated right next to a herb garden from where you can pick some quality cinnamon and other herbs which is produced in Bentota. The property is extremely clean, well thought and the rooms are perfect size with detailing in every smaller needs of visitors.

The best hotel I have been to in Sri Lanka. Very good rooms. We took a large one with a corner balcony. Cleaned up every day. Always clean, comfortable and pleasant to be in the entire hotel. Also a very good restaurant. They cook very well. There is also a bar. If breakfast is included, they are very large and tasty. The hotel also has its own beach. It is also cleaned every morning. Free sun loungers from the hotel. The beach also has a bar and tables where you can eat on the beach at any time. The hotel manager deserves special thanks. Very polite, always ready to help, suggest and provide various additional services, such as taxis, tuk tuk, safari, turtle farms and so on. I am very happy with my vacation here.
