Waterstone Lodge

The breakfast catered for all expectations, the buffet was excellent with meaningful add ons. (chia seeds, linseeds et al) Our host prepared sumptuous hot breakfasts too.

Weather!!!!!!

Beautifully furnished, exceptionally comfortable room and bed. Great hospitality/guest service.

Everything was perfect!

Nice setting. Pretty garden. Breakfast was on par. Friendly staff and owner.

Our room was very noisy. We did not rest well there. The shower leaked. The bathroom was full of stains - the floor, on the curtains. We did not like using the bathroom. The bedlinens were not so nice and the carpets next to the bed was a little gross. The towels were not very dry. We did not like the room on the roadside. Sorry.

Beautifully appointed. Couldn't have asked for a nicer hostess

All good

The staff is very friendly and delicious breakfast!

Det var støy fra veien

Exceptional service. The property manager and staff go above and beyond.

Friendly staff and very clean. Breakfast was lovely as well.

Have to drive to get to many restaurants. But there is a lovey restaurant next door, bit pricey for some, but the food was also lovely. Bit really it’s a small complaint to be fair.

Charmaine made us feel very welcome. Her breakfasts are amazing. All the staff were very polite and friendly. Andrew was very informative with suggestions. Our room was clean and well equipped.

Having to leave.

Centrally located, great facilities, excellent breakfast. Friendly staff

The breakfast was well prepared by the amazing hostess Charmaine. She would take our orders and prepare as requested. Cant fault anything at all

Brilliant location staff and breakfast was very nice

Overall a great experience value for money

Great stay will recommend

super nettes Personal, schön gelegen

Staff was super friendly and supported me, even putting everything in my room in order for me to have a glass of wine before I went for dinner at Steffanies.

The room was on the side of the property. I guess for others, it might be brilliant, but I would have preferred a first-floor room. The property was still amazing.

Very neat and centrally located with a super friendly host

No smart tv offering

Good breakfast and great service

Exactly as I remembered the place around 5 years ago when we stayed for the 1st time. From what I remember Andrew and Philip just bought the place. And we visited family for an 80 birthday celebration across the road at Stephanie’s place. We booked at Waterstone Lodge as it was a quick walk across the road. Room is a perfect 10, from cleanliness to class, style and amazing view. Bed is king size (memory foam), bath tub and separate large shower. From Bedding to towels all was just perfect clean and great condition (not many places focus on the details but Andrew nailed it for consistency. Honesty Mini Bar, great touch to the room. The rest of the house perfect from the kitchen area and sneak view I had of the gardens etc. Well Done Andrew & the Waterstone Team for the consistent upkeep of the place. Absolutely amazing returning to a place and having the same experience 5 years later. A definite must to stay.

Too short….

Andrew, Charmaine and FiFi are incredible. They made the stay special, with nothing being too much. They are all so friendly and accommodating. It was our 2nd stay, and definitely wont be our last.

We liked everything. I would have to be unfair to complain. If I have to complain about anything, it would be that there is a lot of light coming into the suite upstairs. I am a poor sleeper, and this was just me.

The size and decor of the room coupled with the amazing view of ocean and mountains. The good breakfasts.

Everything.

I felt safe. Charmaine was so pleasant and good at her job

I liked everything

Individualised service and attention.

I am a returning guest, so no dislikes , otherwise I would not be returning for the 4th time.

It was overall stunning

We loved the elegant design and furnishings. Beautiful outside area and swimming pool. The room had everything you needed and the rain shower was excellent.

Everything. One of best I stayed in a while.

What a gem! Andrew and Charmaine are wonderful hosts, so friendly, and helpful with tips about restaurants in the area, and more. The guesthouse is wonderful. The furnishings, fixtures and fittings are modern and functional. The bed was comfy. The room amenities included a safe, small fridge, AC, TV and coffee/tea station. The bathroom was well appointed. The toiletries are top class. Breakfast (cooked to order) was delicious. All in all, a great experience. Easy to recommend. Thanks guys!

Friendly staff, able to check in early after overnight flight. Comfortable pool area.

Nothing.

Very elegant property with beautiful grounds. Substantial and well presented breakfast which we were able to eat outside in the beautiful garden. Such a welcoming and friendly Owner. Would highly recommend a stay here. Only a short drive into Cape Town.

Nothing!

Home away from home, beautiful setting and wonderful ammenities. Perfect for a work trip and it must be noted many international travellers on holiday were also present. The staff go out of their way to accommodate their guests.

Heavy traffic to Cape Town CBD can't be avoided, plan accordingly.

Easy to find and well located. Situated in an established area of Somerset West. Entrance is welcoming and layout is tranquil. The bed was especially comfortable and the property neat and clean. Breakfast was great and the check in and check out was seamless.

Friendly host / owner Great breakfast Comfortable beds

Breakfast was a mix of a continental spread with an addition of made to order hot food each morning, and even with very last minute super speedy request the team were very eager to help. Food was delicious, fresh and very well prepared. The coffee was also excellent.

More of a personal pet peeve as I struggle with light sensitivity, the roll down blinds on the east-ish facing window, as much as they were blockout, because of their design and how they sit they don't do much for blocking out the rising sun coming in through the sides and reflecting off walls in the very early hours and the room was completely flooded with light as though the blind was not even there. I managed to use the blanket as a curtain over the blind and happily went back to sleep.

Everything was exceptional. The service, the staff, the breakfast all wonderful. I felt at home. The place is exactly as shown in the pictures and more. Thank you Charmaine for being such a wonderful host.

I liked everything

Great stay

Excellent atmosphere, style-fully equipped room with all amenities, and comfortable living areas.

Very good. Diverse offerings catering for different choices.

No fresh fruit like strawberry and bananas

Beautiful accommodation in a good location. Loved everything about it. Charmaine took good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Andrew was very helpful and gave us lots of info about the area which we appreciated as we are new to the area.

Mooie en gezellige lodge, uitstekend ontbijt en lekkere tuin met zwembad. Alles top voor elkaar.

everthing was perfect

nothing

I only stayed for a night but I felt very welcome. Waterstone's manager arranged for an early check-in and was extremely helpful throughout my stay. The facilities are modern, clean and convenient to Somerset West and Stellenbosch.

The personal touch, welcoming atmosphere and guests been looking well after.

Next time I will prefer a downstairs room

Delicious breakfast, DSTV all channels, especially sport and business/the markets. Well situated. Friendly hosts.

We had a wonderful stay, the room was comfortable, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Loved the decor of the whole house and the fireplace was so cosy to sit at. Breakfast was also really good and we had wonderful service from Andrew, Charmaine and all staff.

My stay was beyond my dreams. Everyone was absolutely lovely, friendly, funny, and had a heart of service and a spirit of excellence. Accommodations were wonderful.

Leaving to go home! 😊

Excellent.
