Location, the size of the room, and the breakfast

Found the bed mattress and pillows harder than I would have liked. Sleep was disturbed by noise of HGV traffic accelerating away from the roundabout at the start of the nearby bypass.

The staff were excellent, friendly and very helpfull.

The hotel itself was a bit tired looking, but the staff made up for that.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. The food in the bar and breakfast was lovely. The staff were nice and we had what we needed for our stay.

A bit of evening entertainment of a weekend in the bar would have been nuce, especially seeing as there didnt seem to be any other pubs or entertainment nearby. It was a bit dull, not much atmosphere. Nothing bad but just a very basic hotel, no real value for money.

It’s was just out of town so perfect for what we wanted after a day of shopping in town , lovely ground floor level rooms perfect for taking my mom , very kind lady had rang me when o made request to be near a lift or on ground level for easy access for my elderly mother, so she gave me a ground floor disabled adapted room and it was so perfect comfortable and so spacious really appreciated the phone call to let us know we had been given a better room than I booked

Everything is perfect , breakfast Buffett could be upgraded that’s about all , little more choice on breads / pastries etc but otherwise perfect

Lamp over mirror had no bulb in it. Toilette could not be used as only able to pick up the handle itself, despite trying to screw the rest of the brush onto the handle. No air conditioning. This is supposed to be a 4-stsar hotel.

Buffet breakfast was very poor. Croissant and muffins pre packaged, yoghurts sitting in a bowl of iced water, cooked breakfast was nice. Windows need replacing, tired and possibly single glazing. We stayed on 2nd floor - shower consisted of a shower hose connected to bath where you had to try balance the hot and cold tap to have a decent temperature turned out it didn’t matter because the water pressure was so poor. No excuse for this in 2026!!!! I would have no problem if the cost was €80-€100 but to charge €173/£150 for this is extortionate. Price does not match the quality. High prices for poor facilities….

We have stayed here before & although we had a small problem we did not consider it important enough to not return. This hotel is in a good location, it's is spotlessly clean, beds are comfortable, food in restaurant is good & breakfast very good in choice & quality. Staff on this occasion were excellent - really helpful and friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Only thing I can think of is it could do with a little more storage in the bathroom - somewhere to set toiletry bags etc.

Staff friendly & helpful. Perfect location for shopping, hotel itself is so quiet & food is fabulous. I encountered an issue ( through myownfault) & it was sorted immediately and professionally. This hotel is our go to a few times every year and I have no intention of changing to any other.

Whilst this is not a modern Hotel it is clean the staff are fantasic welcoming and warm. Nice bar food available till 8.45pm bar staff also very friendly. Breakfast freshly made and contential available porridge was really nice. Service propmt and friendly.

My room was on the ground floor and wirh the exception of the heavy curtains there was no privacy screen blinds or nets on the window. The Hotel is slightly out dated.

Ursula at the main reception assisted and helped me confidently. Minute walked in , also the staff in the food restaurant on Sunday evening were nothing but pleasant . Different circumstances definitely be back again

The Mourne Country Hotel is a great place to stay and the breakfast and food offering are very good. The location on the edge of Newry is idéal for guests who have their car and there is ample parking. For guests who are using public transport, an hourly bus service (338a) provides a connection to and from Newry bus Centre at the stop outside the hotel entrance.

Decor outdated, litter everywhere in car park 7.30 start for breakfast on a business day is too late The hotel needs some TLC and refurb

Room was small but had everything one would need. Just no privacy net curtain behind blackout curtains. Great staff, good food and comfortable stay

Easy parking, lovely room, vending machine for late night check in if you need anything… breakfast was made to order..

The restaurant/bar staff were so lovely, very friendly and kind , highly recommend this Hotel for a stay, food was delicious 😋 😀
