Excellent old style inn right on the River that has been totally upgraded! Great staff and dining options! Very walkable and parking available!

Over priced. Premier inn / holiday inn - have far superior breakfast! AVOID

Hotel itself was average. Expedia themselves made this a terrible experience

No a bad place to stay. Staff were missing when we went for breakfast but otherwise not too bad. Room was more traditional rather than modern and no air con made it a bit stuffy.

Like an old peoples home. Has a great outlook but not used.

On hearing we were celebrating a 90th birthday our booking was upgraded and our suite overlooking the river was delightful. All the staff were pleasant and most helpful. An enjoyable stay.

Really nice independent hotel. Very old fashioned - which was ok. Rooms can get a bit warm as there is no AC or temp control. We wouu you kid stay here again!

The Trout was lovely. We had a room with a river view which was lovely. The room was very comfortable, plenty of room and spotless.

The hotel and staff were great but I felt for a 4 star hotel that the service was rushed not timely to relax with pre dinner drinks taken straight to table etc not what I expected after a long work week and drive to the hotel

Beautiful hotel in an idyllic location next to the river, lovely gardens to enjoy the nice weather, great food and a well stocked bar with local beers and a good selection of whisky, gin etc. Room was spotless. Breakfast was great - freshly cooked!

Absolutely fantastic hotel! Was there for work purposes (so claimed through expenses so could be expensive to others) however that aside service and food quality was amazing. Views are lovely too (especially in this warm week we've just had!)

Everything was brilliant, location, room, staff and food.

We had a lovely stay in one of the hotels apartments that was linked but you have to cross a courtyard. We expected it to have a higher standard than it did we did recommend to the hotel that they put a Nespresso Machine in. The price difference between the rooms we felt did not meet value for money as the bedroom was very tight and the lounge quite small. If you don’t like noise in a hotel if there’s a chance that an event might be on then this room would maybe work better for you then. All in all everything was ok and we did have a nice stay.

Lovely stay in a beautiful garden room. Came up to Cockermouth for a family occasion and the Trout didn’t disappoint. Very Covid safe. Friendly staff from the minute we checked in until we left. Super comfortable super king sized bed, fresh clean linens, quiet location in centre of town. Good lunch menu and breakfast. Service at breakfast was a bit disjointed and cooked breakfast was brought out before starters was finished but very accommodating with kiwi fruit allergy.

No internet connection Front desk rudely refused to accept we had a connection problem in room because front desk reception worked. 1hour 15 minutes to serve breakfast

The staff at the Trout provided a warm welcome. We had a comfortable stay with a lovely dinner and pre dinner drinks outside in the sunshine next to the river. It was so relaxing. The hotels in a great spot for having a walk around Cockermouth

Hotel was lovely & clean. Unfortunately the air conditioning unit was next to the window which kept us up most of the night. Great food

Because of COVID things was so different..they wasent cleaning the rooms the second day of our stay so bed wasent made ect..they was so busy they wouldn’t let us have our drinks outside at the tables we had to sit in the hot bar also the rooms was unbearabley hot..the hotel is very nice but wish I would of not bothered with the new situation due to restrictions with COVID

Excellent but wish we had booked directly with the hotel they had DB&B deals available which would have saved us a considerable amount of money.

wheather was amazing February sunny most of the time and about 18 degrees. Went out for food one night which was good and dined in the Trout Hotels Derwent Restaurant the other, this was very good and will definitely do it again. Enjoyed the hotel and will stay again.

Very comfortable clean room with nice bed. Bathroom warm and very good facilities. Hotel staff pleasant, helpful and friendly. Overall a good experience. Excellent breakfast.

Great location, clean, good staff, friendly, efficient - can't fault it

Room was clean and comfortable. I received a phone call to ask if I wanted a twin or double, the room was incorrectly set up as a double regardless of the phone call this was changed quickly but was an inconvenience. The cocktails and food were ok but not worth the money and the most inconvenient issue was that the tv did not work, I rang reception who sent the waiter to try and resolve the issue but after 15 minutes of fiddling with the wires he advised he couldn’t get it working. The issue was also affecting other rooms.

Super bed, excellent dinner. The room has everything you need and the Wi-fi is fast too

Good hotel in Cockermouth. The staff are friendly and service relaxed, and rooms reasonably comfortable (though a touch on the expensive side for what they are, but that's location I suppose). Ate dinner there and it was pretty decent, though again a touch on the expensive side for what it was. My room was on the front and road noise was a little distracting, but not terribly so. Perhaps the strangest thing - given it's obviously not a chain and is a little quirky - was it didn't have much character feel to it. I've stayed in big chains that felt more 'personal' and 'homely', which was odd. Nice hotel, overall.

Really great place for a business visitor; with excellent cooked breakfast in the morning as well.

Lovely hotel, fabulous friendly staff. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had in a hotel, letting you choose exactly what you want so it’s made to order and piping hot. Will definitely be back - loved it.

出張で2泊。直前だったのでジュニアスイートしか取れず、実際部屋は悪くないが、レイアウトがいまいち。空調設定が非常に難しく面倒な上に調整がきかない。また、備え付けのシャンプーはあまりにキャップを強く締め付けて使えなかった。朝食は美味しかったが、パンはクロワッサンやマフィンなどいまいちだった。
