Hotel Des Lys

Breakfast was decent - not outstanding but well up to European standards. Only disappointment was fairly rubbish coffee (particularly by Italian standards) - Nescafé machine again the culprit. Spotlessly clean and newly refurbished on my floor. Initial issues with faulty room key (door mechanism as it turned out) which took 3 attempts to solve but otherwise faultless service. Tiny bit noisy in the mornings which was surprising for a top floor room.

Very friendly staff. Comfortable bed and delicious breakfast.

Loved it

Hotel is in a great location 15 mins from the palace of Versailles and so many restaurants just around the corner by the market. Easy to get into Paris train station 5mins away. The reception desk staff were great and printed the trains we need to get to the Eiffel Tower as a direct train was not running that week.

Great location. Efficient service but not particularly friendly. Very transactional. Advertise car park yet no instructions on how to get into it, and it was locked! Arriving by car in a foreign, new town, this stuff should be really well communicated to make arrival as easy as possible.

The Hotel is located just off the beaten path, still close to everything including the palace. Had a great stay, would definitely go back to this hotel, if visiting Versailles.

The booking said satellite and cable TV, but it turned out this was only available in French. Also, no kettle or tea/coffee available as promised in the booking, unless you pay for it at the bar.

Good location to visit Palace of Versailles, plus a wide choice of resturauants around the market area of Rue de la Paroisse. The hotel is on a quite street with all the usual facilities, including an exellent buffet breakfast to offer. Only downside is the small car park at the back, although we arrived early and a member of staff was really helpful in organising a space for us which seemed to be the last one, so probably best to visit by train if possibe. Otherwise all good.

This is a very reasonable and convenient hotel for an overnight stay in Versailles.. I arrived early, so my room was not ready yet. Very understandable. They my bag as I went and got lunch. The staff was very accommodating and put up with my bad French! The room was cosy, perfect for one person. The hotel was also very quiet. I did not hear any noise from other rooms. The air conditioning was also adequate.

Rooms are small but clean. Walking distance to everything around Versailles. Only complaint is that the sink and toilet about touch so it’s tight sitting down.

EXCELLENT. Great location. Close to food and a 10 minute walk to Versailles. Nice breakfast, and staff members were so kind and helpful. Will stay here again for sure !

Great location. Staff was very helpful and the hotel was very clean and room cleaning very good.

Fabulous staff, excellent location! It was a fabulous stay and I would love to come visit again!

Good location for seeing the sites of Versailles. Staff helpful and friendly. Room comfortable

The service, reception staff was the best I recall in decades of travel. Attentive, polite and helpful with some adjustments we will return here and happy to share this report. Great neighborhood as well with a garden across the street. As a result of very very poor Expedia experience with our Paris accomodation in future we will book in Versailles and arrange transport to Paris as may be necessary.

For a last minute booking I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service we recieved

Great location & clean and friendly

Lovely hotel with great staff. The housekeeper was so nice. The room is small but clean. They offer Lor coffee (it’s s great coffee) the location is perfect and they are very accommodating and clean

Excellent hotel and service. Close to palace.

Excellent location. Palace of Versailles, shops and restaurants all within a 10 minute walking radius. Staff were very friendly and informative. Breakfast was more than adequate, nicely presented and offered a great choice.

Ideal place to stay for visiting the Palais Versailles and the surrounding areas. Rooms nicely decorated with Palais theme and comfortable. Also offers a good continental self service breakfast too.

We needed a decent room for the night to explore Versailles and this hotel was perfect for that purpose. Small quiet room with decent beds... a good nights sleep. Walking distance to everything with parking on site... and they let us leave the rental car in the parking lot until the afternoon so we had lot's of time to explore the palace in the morning before heading to our next destination. Great staff, great breakfast.

Great location if you are visiting the palace of Versailles, or even as a “suburban” location for Paris itself for a few days.

Highly recommend this place at the heart of Versailles. Staff is very friendly and accomodating and location is very convenient.

Everyone was great Left my ipods in room They are going to check to see if they have them I'll give update

Solo trip. This is a lovely place and the staff are friendly and professional. The only suggestion is that 1 morning I went down to have the buffet at 10:15 and the buffet is supposed to go on till 10:30. But when I got there, they had already put everything away because they assumed that everyone had eaten and that nobody else was going to be coming down to eat. I was very Disappointed at that. But the hotel is in a great location. It's within walking distance of everything and it is a nice place to stay.

It was good. Compact room, but great value for its location.

Very good location, very clean, very nice hosts but no coffee machine or big towels

The staff were exceptional. They always had a smile and were very helpful to us foreigners who were struggling with the language.

Was everything thing we required for our visit to the Palace of Versailles.

A centrally located hotel with great options for restaurants, transport and shopping. The single room was very compact but very well equipped, clean and comfortable.

Very nice and comfortable place to stay in Versailles, close to everything! The staff was friendly and check in was easy. Good A/C and comfortable bed. I will return.

Everyone here at the Hotel Des Lys is wonderful! They have been incredibly helpful with everything and especially with directions to the many points of interest in Versailles. My room is charming, immaculately clean and very quiet. The entire property looks new and is very well cared for. The hotel feels like it’s in the middle of everything in Versailles and is walkable to all you’d want to see and do in Versailles—shops, restaurants and historical sights.

Excellent stay

Pleasant staff on check in , room very clean and comfortable, the hotel has limited parking for €8 which is much cheaper than the near underground parking at €28

Perfect location for a stay in Versailles yet in a quiet area. Clean no frills rooms with friendly staff - maybe a little high priced but our stay was for the Olympics!

Comfortable rooms with A/C but no internet.

Perfect hotel for a trip to Paris if you prefer to stay outside of the city. Beautiful, clean and quiet rooms with newly renovated bathrooms, safe and convenient parking at the property and a very friendly staff made out stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend it. Getting to Paris is very convenient and a 15min walk to the C-line train. Visiting the castle an easy 10min walk. Cute little cafes and restaurants all in close proximity to the hotel. A perfect find in Versailles and I would definitely come back again.

Nice, clean rooms, good breakfast and super nice staff. Easy to walk around and to Chateau Versailles.

Excellent service !

All Front desk staff are extremely helpful. Two male staff helped with train directions to Paris on Saturday morning, how to purchase full day transit card etc.

Excellent location, an easy 20 minute walk to the Palace of Versailles and a few minutes from the RER L train station. Room was clean and with all usual facilities. Breakfast quite sufficient. Staff friendly and helpful. Despite having a 24-hour reception, the confirmation email said checkin stops at midnight and you have to call for late arrivals after 8pm - but when I called, the staff didn't seem to know anything about this, they stated that reception was open 24 hours.

The hotel is well-located and has parking (which was important for us to secure the rented car). The breakfast was OK but expensive for the food options they had. The staff was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, they gave us the room behind the Elevator and it was noisy until midnight. The walk to Versailles is 15 minutes, there are many restaurant options around the hotel.

Great place! Clean, friendly staff, very close to Versaille. The breakfast was also great.

Sam at the Front desk was great! Perfect place to stay, walk short distances to city centre, restaurants and Palace.

Great location and parking available on site

Very accommodating staff!

Very central. Very clean. Good towels. Very slippery floor in the shower. Secure parking at reasonable price per night. 24 hr concierge. Good lift to upper floors

Nice property, clean, well maintained and an easy walk to shopping, restaurants, and attractions. Parking can be a bit of a challenge.

The location was perfect!

Great service - allowed a very late check in. Wonderful property - clean, comfortable bed, amazing breakfast option!

Nice hotel close to the main square in Versailles & walkable to the palace. Exactly as described & pictured!

Near the château de Versailles and very friendly staff

New and clean. Very quiet. Great breakfast. Close enough to walk to the Palace and anything we needed.

On a quiet street but walking distance to restaurants and shops.

We only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer. We could walk to a lot of cute little restaurants and were close to the metro so we could get to all the sights we wanted to see. The bathroom was huge :)

Comfortable beds, good breakfast and great location!

This hotel worked out very well for us. The room and bathroom were clean but very small. The location was great…15 minute walk to Versailles Palace and a large market just down the street. Breakfast was good and front desk staff were very helpful.

Good, clean and very conveniently located.

Great location from Chateau de Versailles. Parking on site is limited and very tight.

The reception team was very friendly, and fortunate for us, spoke excellent English to our weaker French. We were given a disabled room, which while a bit larger, lacked storage. The shower had no curtain, so we had to wipe down the toilet and mop the bathroom floor after each shower. Suggest providing extra bath mats for this room. One of us could not connect with the hotel's WiFi on an iPhone 13. This was a significant inconvenience.

Small rooms but excellent location at a very reasonable price. Also has parking.

Super room. Great location. Super breakfast. Nice staff.

Lovely little hotel, walking distance from Versailles Rive Droit train station! Staff were friendly, hotel was clean, food nearby and it was a great price!

Central location walking distance to major sites. Book hotel parking in advance (9euro) if required as space is limited & its cheaper than weekday street parking

Hotel was nice and clean and only 15 minutes walk to the palace. Lots of restaurants in the area to choose from, and a Sunday market. Love that they have their own gated parking but spaces were tight! It took me forever to park but I managed. Continental breakfast available.

a small hotel but very clean and nice. 5 minutes walking distance to restaurant

Smart hotel in a great location. Our room was a little small and suppose to be superior so not convinced we were checked in to the right room.

Staff was extremely helpful on check in, giving us their parking space as they were leaving. The hotel is just around the corner from many restaurants. Room was very clean an up-to-date. Breakfast was great with lots of options, including fresh sliced fruit and warm bread. Would definitely stay again!

I stayed 3-nights, had one full day visiting the Chateau de Versailles seeing an opera there in the evening. Took a day trip into central Paris the following day. The Chateau and train station are close by. I had a compact single room with nice size bed and good walk in shower. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There is a lively square full of restaurants just around the corner.

Good hotel as a base for a few days to explore Versaille. Convenient location with selection of restaurants and bars just round the corner. Checked in very late due to flight delay with no problem. Friendly staff. Would recommend

Check-in was ok, but the internet did not work and the night manager did not seem to care nor was he trying to help. Skip breakfast since it looked very basic. Other staff were friendly and location was good. Rooms were VERY small.

We were given early check in, minutes from rive droit train station, 10 minute walk to the Palace!

Excellent service and room

The staff could not be more helpful, I needed COVID testing and they looked up a laboratory close by for me to do my testing.

My dream was to visit Versailles, and I really enjoyed this hotel so much, it has a great location, convenient, beautiful view, and I would undoubtedly re-book it again when I come back.

Great location , very friendly and helpful staff our room albeit on the small side was clean and well serviced We would use again

Hotel is situated in a quiet block just a couple of minutes away from the restaurant/shopping area. Very convenient. The room was good value for the price, but staff could have been more professional. Most of the time they weren’t wearing masks.
