Breakfast great location good
The room was warm and comfortable but the washing facilities could improve. There were no hooks for towels or clothes. No handle on outside of bathroom door. Plug was unchained so got stuck in hole when used, my husband repaired this as it was a pain...door wedged on floor half open. The toilet seat was loose and no toilet roll holder. Just a little more attention to maintenance required we thought
Excellent value for money and the foods is amazing, will definitely be booking again!
Not a lot
Room was outside, very tired and had an old damp smell. Breakfast was very poor. Had small full English and it was inedible. reall horrible.
Very good value for money. Staff amazing. Great place to stay on the way further north.
Some TLC needed - marks on walls
The breakfast was fantastic. All the staff were lovely. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable
Not a complaint really but I just found the door to the room very stiff and difficult to close, in particular. At times, I felt a little anxious that I might not have closed/locked it properly
The shower door need some attention.
It is spacious and neat. In a good location for me.
This is my 4th or 5th stay this year & it is the closest place to stay when visiting my brother.
My tv wouldn't work the following morning.I rang on Monday 24th Aug & left a message incase the remote needed new batteries. When I came back after 8pm nothing had been done so I went over to the Inn & the staff were very helpfull & put new batteries in.I went back to my chalet & the tv still wouldn't work so I climbed onto the table ( I'm 78)& turned the tele off at the wall.Switched it back on & the remote worked. This morning Tuesday 25th the same happened again so I did the same thing switching the tv off at the wall & low & behold the remote worked again.I've stayed in this chalet on most of my visits & never had this problem.
Cannot fault the staff, all very friendly. Breakfast was really good, with a varied choice. Dogs made welcome, too.
Though very clean, the room we stayed in needs updating. The main door was very hard to open and close without making a lot of noise. There was no handle on the bathroom door on one side.
Spacious and separate building from the pub will lots of parking.
The room smelt like damp and wet dog. Shower leaks onto floor as tiles are not grouted and shower door would not close properly
The bar staff were great. I loved the evening food and the brekky was so good! Superb value for money too.
Very convenient for the places I wanted to visit.
No WiFi
Central location
A bit dated
Excellent value , breakfast well worth having
Fridge didn't work
Pub for dinner was very good, staff very nice and attentive.
Room/bathroom could have been cleaner, bed not comfortable, breakfast was ok.
Not taken.
Stuffy and smelly Toilet seat lose Needed ventilating before arrival Stale tobacco smell although it is a no smoking room. Door troublesome to lock. Felt dirty.
Very nice and clean. Really quite great sleep
Location and comfortable
Good location and parking
Nothing to dislike, it was as described
I stay there as it is close to my brother for visiting. I went & got a drink on Saturday night from the bar to take back to my chalet.I said to the young barman I was going to watch the England match & straight away he said come & watch it in here. That was very nice of him but I refused.
When I booked it said breakfast included but that wasn't the case. I didn't have a hairdryer in my chalet no 3 though when I've stayed before in chalet 1their was one.I rang & asked about it & the message from the manager was if they had one spare they would put one in my room.Guess what it didn't arrive. Not good.Jaqualine
the location was perfect for the event I was attending with local shops close by. Own entrance with parking outside front door. Spacious inside with a mini fridge. Staff were very friendly.
tv remote control missing as was the handle on the bathroom door. The unit generally could do with a little TLC.
The staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful and made stay a pleasure
The room itself had quite a few issues which need sorting but otherwise great value for money
Food and staff was great 👍
The room was dirty on arrival wasn't cleaned from the people before. Beds was shocking one mattresses was broken. Didn't even open on the last day for breakfast so had to go elsewhere to eat. I wouldn't book here again.
The food in the pub next door looked very good although I didn’t eat there.
The property could do with a new front door for multiple reasons. The locking mechanism was a little iffy and there was evidence slugs or snails that had slid in under the door during the night and left trails all over the floor and my shoes.
Convenient as a pit stop when doing a long drive, comfortable clean simple spacious room, housed in a separate building from the main bar & restaurant - which was very dog friendly and served some lovely food. (It’s not on the menu but a great tip, they offer a dog roast dinner) Water in the room fridge was appreciated.
The front door lock wasn’t a bit wobbly and didn’t feel the most secure.
This is excellent value, with the added bonus of a fabulous full English breakfast cooked to order. The rooms are separate to the main pub building with plenty of parking available. The room itself was nicely furnished with a small fridge and tea/coffee facilities. They even had sachets of hot chocolate, which is unusual to find in hotels. The staff were friendly and helpful and were able to arrange for our breakfast to be ready at a set time, which was much appreciated as we had to get off quite early. The location was good, it is a short drive to the coast and there is also a lovely river walk just down the road from the pub. We had fish and chips from a locally chippy which were very nice.
The buildings housing the rooms are not very inviting from the outside, but are nice inside. The bed mattress was pretty soggy, I think it might be time for a new one. It is on a busy road, so there is traffic noise, especially if you have the windows open when it is warm weather.
Staff and bar area were very nice
We stayed in room 4. Mattresses on both beds were well passed their best, the beds creaked and groaned without any excess activity. The front door did not fit its frame, there were large gaps letting in a cold draft. The full English breakfast was swimming in grease which is a shame as the sausage and bacon were of a high quality and tasted fantastic in the breakfast stottie I had on morning 2.
Large room.
Dog friendly, liked that it had a sofa to watch tv, tea & coffee facilities. Pub meal and breakfast exceptional
Mattress really uncomfortable, large bathroom but the smallest shower
Staff friendly and helpful
No lock on bathroom door and door didn't close properly
Room was well thought out. Comfy bed and peaceful
Nothing
Tidy room, parking on-site, next to pub, convenient for southern Northumberland/northern Newcastle.
Quite basic, I was very happy though.
Location Allowed bike storage in our room Lovely friendly staff especially in the evening. Food in pub was nice
No breakfast was available
Cycle storage
It is convient for me as my brother doesn't live too far away.A six minute walk.
I was there for three nights & expected my bin to be emptied at least after two..That is just a small observation.
We liked the fact that the location was perfect for what we needed.
First of all the door didn't lock. We sought assistance from one of the staff, a young lad, who tried his very best but ended up having to ring his manager while attempting to identify the problem. The lock was broken so we ended up having to push the sofa up against the door for safety as the other room wasn't available. Even if the door had locked, the room was freezing cold. The heating went off and on all night long, but it was only in short bursts (which was very noisy as the boiler is on the main wall of bedroom area) Bathroom was ok, although around the toilet wasn't very clean, it definitely hadn't been checked or cleaned just before we arrived as the bin hadn't been emptied either, there was a Monster energy drink can in it. Single beds were clean and comfy but very small. We were awake all night. The manager informed us to call in before we left in the morning for some kind of reimbursement. Although the lights were on it was all locked up and we couldn't get an answer so we deposited the key into the box and left. I did leave a message but as yet have had no response. The location was ideal, thats why we chose to stay here for the night, as we were attending a family wedding very close by. It was a very disappointing end to a lovely day.
Location was good food in restaurant was nice
Bed and pillow's were so uncomfortable had to get pillow changed when we arrived as it was all burst and inside was hanging out pillow's were flat and soft mattress was same ,didn't get good night's sleep we left a day early as I have disabilitys and I was very sore with laying in the bed not good .
I was informed on arrival that they no longer do breakfast ??? I was told this has been the case since last year ? That’s not true as I’ve stayed regularly. Only 2 months ago I received a wonderful breakfast but not any more it seems.
Love the fact the room's are not in the pub building, plenty space in the rooms, nice to have seats outside to enjoy the sun, nice beer garden in pub.
Tv needs to be on a swivel mount, shower tiles could do with a deep clean and some gaps around tiles and taps in shower, Could definitely do with another window on the bed wall.
The Half Moon rooms are lovely and clean, and was ideal for what I needed.
Everything was lovely although the food is a little overpriced.
Lovely staff room clean and fresh sheets smelt like comfort! Nice coffee
I did not have breakfast. What I can say is Joseph and Kerys were excellent Team players and demonstrated excellent leadership, tenacity, professionalism and commitment. Joseph was particularly great with early check in .
I can’t think of anything just stop giving great service.
Food was good if expensive
Room was grubby, outdated (we stayed there 36 years ago and it was great then) the beds were really uncomfortable, place smelled and the carpet was covered in stains
Local to where we needed
Room was clean but a few things needed sorting, no door handle on bathroom, door locked wasn’t very good or safe, toilet seat wobbled
The noise of the boiler kept me awake but I just switched it off and all was ok
Bar , Restaurant , Food , Staff .
Room , needed TLC., Not as photos ., Main door /lock needed attention., / Handle missing of Toilet / Shower room door . , Toilet seat required adjustment / new fittings Shower accessories not adequate for a four night stay . Tea / Coffee not adequate , not replenished . Beer garden not in use ., although not warm , would have been somewhere to sit with dog .
It was available at very short notice
It was in a car park. It was cold and smelled of damp
Nice food at lunch and dinner at the restaurant.
1. No breakfast provided, even though inferred on their website. 2. Television did not work properly - no plug socket close to bed where you could charge and stream in phone. 3. Excessive external noise from main roads. 4. No way of contacting - voicemail box full!! 5. No reply to email requesting VAT invoices for the stay.
Affordable, comfortable, loads of parking space, excellent food served in their restaurant and friendly pub. All round excellent trip.
All good
It’s is spacious and warm
Na
Nice comfy room separate from the main pub. Staff always friendly and welcoming. Great dog friendly place to stay. Food at the pub is exellent
Staff & food really good and pub very pleasant atmosphere & busy
Room very cold & tired, boiler kept kicking in but no heat generated to radiator
I stayed in one of the comfy chalets which was well furnished. The pub restaurant was handy and served a range of hearty and well-cooked traditional dishes. The staff were friendly and helpful.
No WiFi in the chalets which is a headache for business travellers. Decent coverage could only be found in the bar area. The shower produced lukewarm water.
I booked on a bed and breakfast basis , on arrival/check in I was informed the establishment no longer served breakfast
I booked on a bed and breakfast basis the establishment advertised the fact that a full English breakfast was included in the price of the room . On arrival I was informed they no longer provided breakfast which was most dissatisfatory, had i have known i would not have Booked I would have chosen an establishment that provided breakfast as I was travelling back to Lancashire that morning
I was visiting my brother & this was the closest place to stay.It was lovely warm & I could get GBNEWS on the tele.We had Sunday lunch there & it was well worth the money.
Their wasn't anything I didn't like.
The breakfast was fantastic. Dog friendly room with own front door on ground floor.
Bathroom needed a small unit or shelf for toiletries - plenty of room behind door for one.
Central location for visiting the surrounding area. Accommodation is of a high standard and staff are very friendly and helpful
It is unfortunate there is no Wifi within the accommodation. Not essential.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming.I stayed with my husband for two nights on our fifth wedding anniversary. The room was nice, everything was clean, lovely shower and a TV,just across the car park from the pub. The bed was very comfortable and there was water, tea and coffee and bonus hot chocolate :D Bonus points for having a hairdryer in the drawer and mini fridge. Sadly no WiFi in the rooms but no big deal :) - available in the restaurant next door We met the owners as we were about to leave I believe but either way super friendly, lovely people. I only managed to take a photo of the bed haha but either way it was lovely. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We didn't use the restaurant only to have a quick drink but the food looked and smelled nice.(Will definitely sample a Sunday roast hopefully next time) :D Seemed busy too but did not impact the ability to sleep in any way.
Got promised to get invoice on email and never recived. If someone requesting invoicr please print out.
Room ok. Breakfast excellent and on time.
The Inn is on the corner of a major roundabout and the traffic noise never seemed to cease.
Lovely accommodation, always made to feel welcome
I was only there for one night
Rooms smelt of mould
Excellent restaurant food.
Mold in grouting & around base of shower. Beds comfortable with thick mattress toppers - but needing h airing. Matress very worn, needing freshening up ? Road noise a bit of a problem for light sleeper!(
Good size room and en suite bathroom with own entrance. Nicely decorated. Very comfortable with everything I needed.
I would have liked the socket to charge phone accessible while in bed but really all the positives outweigh this.
Basic but everything you’d need, clean and easy parking
N/a
The rooms are very clean and comfortable. It has everything you need.
Nothing to dislike
Self contained, value for money and has everything needed. Second time staying and would return
Property is absolutely fine however the mattress is a little thin
carefully prepared breakfast
can't think of anything we didn't like
The staff
The location
Let down by the dirty shower Otherwise a nice place But clean is important
Room was spacious and comfortable
Heating and hot water was not working well, after letting staff know it was fixed straight away
Great size rooms and great facilities.
Rooms were very cold and difficult to heat, maybe an additional plug in heater would be a good addition for the winter. Bathroom doors could do with some attention as they didn't shut properly.
Good location and good tea, coffee and water. room was clean and bed fairly comfortable.
Pipes to the boiler in the room were exposed and the cover was not secure. The bathroom would benefit from hooks on the door for towels and a shelf above the sink for personal items.
The staff are always welcoming and the breakfast is lovely
Not applicable
Clean and fresh Fridge with fresh water supplied and tea coffee etc. Comfortable bed - appreciate
Boiler in the same room and quite noisy albeit turned the radiator down Couldn’t get the TV to work on the channels - nothing in the room to advise passcodes etc
Lovely pub. Very comfortable room. Excellent breakfast.
Would be nice if the bar had a local real ale
