Sun Moon Home 明宿阿爸食堂

The room was very clean and comfortable. The wooden house and environment around was very pretty and lovely, cute cat and doggy around added fun. Breakfast was very sufficient and nice.

The pillows were a bit too soft. Mosquitos in the car park was very serious in the evening.

Absolument magnifique, à ne pas manquer ! Endroit charmant, calme et extrêmement confortable. Nous y avons séjourné deux nuits et tout était parfait. C’est l’endroit idéal pour profiter pleinement d’une journée autour du lac et se ressourcer. Le personnel est aux petits soins, ce qui rend le séjour encore plus agréable.

The breakfast was excellent, the room was spacious clean and comfortable. It also had this really nice wood smell. They had Netflix and YouTube accounts and it was v comfy to watch while lying on the bed. The whole area was very nice, very quiet. The on-site cafe and restaurant was excellent as well. Honestly I would’ve happily stayed another night and would def stay again if I visit Sun Moon Lake.

Nothing! I will say that it is about 10 min drive from the lake itself - but that wasn’t a problem as we rented a car. But I reckon getting to the lake by bicycle or taxi wouldn’t be too difficult either.

A beautiful Japanese house in picturesque countryside on the road around Sun Moon Lake. The room is a delight and tea very zen. Dinner in a traditional courtyard house was superb.

We had an amazing stay at Sun Moon Home. They offered an unique city getaway experience - traditional countryside dining, spacious apartment with a lovely private hot tub, and a cozy cafe that serves delicious desserts. Could not recommend Sun Moon Home more highly to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing stay. The hosts were extremely hospitable as well. Having arrived late, they welcomed us warmly and made sure we had something to eat. We had many nice small conversations too which was nice. 10/10 stay!

The dinner and the breakfast were both amazing. They provided me a vegetarian meal that was well balanced and delicious. The rooms are quiet except for the frogs but the earplugs did the trick. I slept really well. As a solo female traveler it’s a safe, comfortable and welcoming place to stay. I highly recommend staying here if you are going to Sun Moon Lake. You can make a carpool reservation on Trip Pool if you don’t want to take the bus. Uber does work but during the week there are not many drivers. You can ask the staff for help.

Friendly and accomodating host with good communication. Additional paid set menu dinner and complimentary breakfast was fresh and plenty of variety. The natural wooden smell of the room was a pleasant bonus

Beautiful and charming accommodation, very high standard in traditional Japanese design. feels a bit like in the shogun tv series. we had a car breakdown and the staff was super helpful in order to find a solution, I can absolutely recommend this hotel to anybody!

This place was a little gem for our family. We loved the remote location, making us feel alone & special and nearly part of the family. One sister is in charge of the hotel, with her husband leading the design of this manucures and authentic place. Another sister is in charge of the lovely Taiwanese restaurant & the breakfast and the last one of the coffee place.

I would mention 2 things - These 5 Japanese rooms surrounded by greenery are a blessing after cycling around the highly touristy sun moon lake where the norm are high sky rise hotels - the caring attention of the staff/family to ensure we feel at home.

Very lovely design of the guesthouses. It’s located further from the town centre, which is about a 10min car ride away. However, the location means that it’s generally very peaceful and relaxing within the property. The food offered at the restaurant and on site are all highly recommended too. We had the best time staying there, also thanks to the warm hospitality from the staff and their many lovely pets on site.

QUIET CONVINIENT AND SAFE

住宿環境很舒適，附近清幽安靜，適合沈澱身心。主人非常友善，早晚餐看似簡單但是非常美味。強力推薦喜愛山居節奏的朋友們！

明宿位於日月潭旁邊半山腰，純日式小民宿，比照片還舒服。大概離日月潭水社碼頭有10分鐘車程左右。特別適合喜歡清靜的人士。滿分推薦。

The rooms are amazing. The host of the property was accommodating and friendly. I recommend this place for anyone looking to stay in a very natural and traditional setting yet still close enough to enjoy Sun Moon Lake. Rent bikes in town and make sure to bring things you will need as there aren't any stores in a reasonable walking distance. We rode around Sun Moon Lake and were quite naive about the length of some of the hills, but it was a great experience all in all. The host's father A-Ba makes some great dinner so make sure to try it out.
