Un séjour absolument magnifique à Dar El Rio à Chefchaouen ! La chambre était impeccable, très propre et stylée avec un magnifique revêtement en bois et une vue imprenable sur les montagnes. On se réveille avec un paysage de carte postale. Service 5/5, rien à dire. Le personnel est extrêmement sympa, bienveillant et aux petits soins. Et le petit déjeuner était riche, varié et délicieux. Je recommande les yeux fermés, j'y reviendrai avec grand plaisir !

I had to give a 10 to this amazing place. It was a pleasure to stay here, we were helped parking the car (and trust me it wasn’t easy so the guys went the extra mile for this). The tea they serve is great and the breakfast is very good. They also made us discover a sweet made in Chefchaouen, and direct us to a very small shop managed by a old woman, without them we could’ve never found it. Rooms are comfy, clean and with a very nice look. It was the best stay of our trip.

We absolutely loved our stay! The hotel is beautiful, charming and full of character, perfectly matching the magical atmosphere of Chefchaouen. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We truly felt at home.

A place we would recommend without hesitation. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. The team was warm, calm and attentive, always available without ever being intrusive. We were leaving very early the next morning, and the night receptionist already knew this from his afternoon colleague and spontaneously offered to have breakfast prepared for us to take away. The next morning, a member of staff even came out to help us to our car. Small gestures, but exactly the kind you remember. We also loved the character of the property, its thoughtful design details and lovely rooftop. A warm, welcoming place with a team that seems genuinely happy to have you there. We would happily have stayed longer and will definitely return.

Das ganze Hotel liegt in einer perfekten Lage, Hotel ist modern eingerichtet und bietet weit aus mehr als das was man braucht. Super freundliches Personal und die Dachterrasse ist sehr schön.

Die Parkplatz Suche war sehr nerven aufreibend. Die Matratze hätte ein wenig bequemer sein können,das ist aber meckern auf hohen Niveau.

Very nice and cozy riad in the heart of Chefchaouen 💙 we loved everything about our stay: the room was comfy, the view was nice and the riad has a beautiful terrace with a wonderful view of the mountains and the blue city! Staff was very welcoming and attentive, helped us with our luggage and the taxi on our way out☺️

L’emplacement et le petit déjeuner sont top. Chambres avec tout ce qu’il faut et propres.

C’est un vrai cauchemar pour s’y rendre en voiture et se garer. Il n’y a pas de parking contrairement à ce qui est indiqué - l’hôtel vous indiquera un parking payant où une place est soi disant réservée pour les clients de l’hôtel mais qui est plein donc impossible de se garer. Nous avons fini par nous garer complètement à l’extérieur, sur un parking sécurisé puis prendre un petit taxi qui d’ailleurs lui même refusera de s’aventurer dans les minuscules ruelles où vous risquez d’abîmer votre voiture.

La décoration de Dar Elrio est superbe. L’accueil est incroyable, avec un thé sur la terrasse et plein de bons conseils. Fabuleux petit déjeuner ! Très bonne literie.

De petites réparations seraient souhaitables (douche, robinet lavabo…) dans la salle de bains rendraient le séjour encore plus incroyable.

Was wir immer sehr schätzen, ist ein freundlicher und netter Empfang – und genau das haben wir hier erlebt. Das Zimmer, das wir hatten, war klein und fein, genau wie wir es uns vorgestellt haben. Bis jetzt haben wir auf unserer Marokkoreise hier das beste Frühstück erhalten. Der Ausblick von der Dachterrasse ist großartig. Parken auf der Straße ist möglich und kostet 20 MAD. Der Parkplatz befindet sich quasi direkt vorm Hotel, nur zehn Meter entfernt in einer Seitengasse.

Es gibt nichts auszusetzen ☺️

Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön! Der Service ist top und die Mitarbeiter unglaublich aufmerksam. Das Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse war ein Traum. Wir haben dort auch Abends bis spät in die Nacht, Chefchaouen mit seinen Lichtern von oben bewundern dürfen! Sehr empfehlenswert!

The receptionist and all the staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help, which made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was excellent and customizable to our preferences, which we really appreciated. The food was fresh, delicious, and prepared with care. Our room was incredibly comfortable, cozy, and well-maintained, providing the perfect place to relax. The view was absolutely breathtaking and added something truly special to our stay. Beautiful property. You can hear the river from the rooms and the rooftop. Lovely views and breakfast. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived. They were very accommodating and attentive. One of the rooms we booked didn’t have a functional AC so we were upgraded for free. The front desk was very helpful and offered us recommendations for dinner and local shopping. I recommend you stay here as we will definitely be booking here again !

Eine der schönsten Übernachtungen auf unserer Marokkoreise. Alles sehr stimmungsvoll und das gesamte Personal sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit.

The staff managed to arrange for us a private car transfer from Fes on the first day of Eid with just a few days notice as our original transport cancelled, we really appreciated this! They also provided complimentary laundry service which was great. Our room has a nice unblocked view to the mountains too, and you can have your breakfast on their terrace with the same view. The building is accessible by car so we did not have to walk through the medina area with our luggages.

The bathroom needs an upgrade and looks very dated, especially the shower. There are no windows due to the design of the building, so there isn't sufficient ventilation and there are signs of mold in the shower area.

I stayed one night at Dar El Rio and had a very pleasant experience. The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The location was convenient and offered a relaxing atmosphere. I particularly appreciated the hospitality and the attention to detail. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would gladly recommend Dar El Rio to other travelers.

The location was absolutely perfect in the heart of Chefchaouen. Having breakfast on the rooftop with a beautiful view of the Spanish Mosque and the mountains was unforgettable. The staff were incredibly sweet, welcoming, and very attentive throughout our stay. The atmosphere of the riad was cozy, peaceful, and authentic.

Abbiamo alloggiato nell’unica camera con letto a soppalco, molto piccola ma per una notte davvero carina, hanno sfruttato tutto lo spazio. Staff gentile e colazione molto buona. Abbiamo parcheggiato a 20 metri quindi comodissimo. Lo consiglierei sicuramente.

Tres bon accueil ! Endroit au top avec une très belle terrasse ! La chambre etait tres confortable également avec le son de la rivière et une tres belle vue !

Nous avons particulièrement aimé ce Dar un peu caché mais qui offre une vue incroyable sur la montagne depuis une terrasse extrêmement agréable ! La chambre était très belle et le personnel vraiment au top !

2泊滞在しましたが、スタッフの皆様には大変親切にしていただきました。 ハネムーンだということを伝えていたら、部屋を可愛くデコレーションしてくださっていて、感動しました🥹 部屋にオイルヒーターがあったのが何気に良かったです。洗濯物がすぐ乾きました。お水も毎日大きいボトルを提供してくださいました。モロッコでは私たちは歯磨きも念のためミネラルウォーターを使ったので、とても助かりました。 テラスからの眺めがよいので、夜夫とゆっくりしていると、飲み物を提供してくださいました。合計3,4回くらいいただいたと思います笑 朝ご飯は多くの人がテラスで食べますが、自分の部屋でも食べることができるそうです。 私たちは早朝のバスに乗る必要があったので、タクシーの手配をお願いしました。モロッコはタクシー運転手によっては高額なチップを要求してきたり、何度か悲しい気持ちになりましたが、親切で安全なタクシー運転手さんを呼んでいただき、快適に帰ることができました。 朝ご飯も持ち帰れるよう、準備してくださいました。ありがとう！

Accueil impeccable! Nous sommes arrivées en voiture et ils nous ont aidé avec le stationnement qui peut être un petit défi! Nous avons profité d’un breuvage de bienvenue sur la magnifique terrasse, et le déjeuner était excellent! Le personnel était aux petits soins pour s’assurer que notre séjour soit vraiment parfait. La proximité à la medina est aussi un grand avantage (restaurants et commerces à proximité)! Ils ont même transporté nos bagages, et préparé un petit déjeuner à emporter puisque nous devions quitter tôt!

Le seul petit défi est le stationnement: nous vous conseillons d’aller voir le personnel de l’accueil directement qui pourront vous aider (« gardiens de rue » très insistants)

Dommage que la vue sur la montagne était un peu gachée par l'établissement en face qui avait de gros projecteurs LED pointés sur notre chambre.

Arrivare in hotel con l'auto non è semplicissimo. Purtroppo un problema che hanno in molti nella città, è la viabilità e il parcheggio non facilissimo da trovare.

(1) LOCATION: Very close to main city square. However in a very tight alleyway with no signboard on the road. Tight stair case and it is likely to be a struggle to move heavy luggage around. (2) BREAKFAST/ FOOD: Freshly cooked eggs with an assortment of vegetables and fruits, bread, mini sweet yum yum, two kind of jams, honey, butter, Morrocan fried bread, yogurt, fresh juice and tea. Doesn’t have a restaurant of its own. However they would assist to order take away from a nearby restaurant. (3) BEDROOM: Comfy extra firm bed mattress, if one liked such mattresses. Spacious bathroom. (4) SERVICE: The man and lady at the reception were helpful

(1) DECOR/ AMBIANCE: Very small and congested Riad, with tight stair cases. (2) SOUND ISOLATION: Very poor. Sounds from the surrounding rooms can easily be heard. The sounds from outside the hotel are quite loud, especially that of morning sermon very early in the morning which can last up to fifteen to twenty minutes. Unless one is a deep sleeper, it’s hard not to wake up. Proper triple glazed windows could help. (3) CAR PARKING: The establishment advertises as offering free car parking on site, in the street, which is wholly untrue. The street is very narrow and it’s a chore to drive the car on it with only a couple of inches of margin of error on either side. I specifically requested car parking and they sent me a google maps link, which took me to the end of the street, with absolutely no parking available. I narrowly avoided my car to have had a bump or damage driving on this narrow road with several cars parked on either side. In the end I had to park the car in a proper car park 15 minutes away, requiring a taxi every-time, to travel to it, from the hotel. Upon complaining, the man on reception acknowledged they should give the correct information to the customers in future to avoid confusion.

We had a wonderful stay at Dar Elrio, which is warmly run by sister Nada and her brother, Zaki. While parking was a bit of a challenge, the riad itself more than made up for it. We stayed in their smallest room, but it was perfectly good enough for us. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with a restful bed and good bathroom facilities. The WiFi throughout the accommodation was also fast and reliable, which was a big plus. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely, and both Nada and Zaki made a real effort to ensure we were well looked after throughout our stay. A special mention must go to Zaki, the strongman of the riad, who kindly helped carry our luggage. Overall, Dar Elrio is a charming and very welcoming place to stay. Highly recommended.

For those driving, it is worth noting that the road leading to the parking square is a one-way street, so patience is definitely needed. If you are arriving during weekends or public holidays, you may not get parking immediately, so it is best to allow some extra time.

Fantastic accommodation - a beautiful spot next to the sound of the river. We were very kindly upgraded, both rooms were beautiful. Fantastic breakfast on the stunning rooftop terrace.

早餐太豐盛，因女兒身體不適，他們特地送來房間，看著窗外溫暖的陽光，心裡無限滿足。CHECK OUT時，可以請民宿幫忙叫計程車，但建議一定要提前時間(建議半小時)來接，雖然到車站很近,但當地司機很會延遲，很令人緊張，還好民宿一直跟催，不然就趕不上車了。離開前還送了二個冰箱貼，很貼心的禮物。

地理位置比較不好找,我們叫計程車,很多台計程車看不懂英文,將我們丟在舊城入口,走了一大圈,但後來才發現,民宿前是有車道的,建議民宿可以直接給我當地語言的民宿名稱,就可以精準的在民宿前下車了

Alojamiento bien ubicado cerca de la medina y sin ruido. Vistas a la montaña y con el sonido del río cerca. El personal fue muy amable con nosotros y nos dejaron una habitación mayor al mismo precio, un detalle muy bonito. Nos ofrecieron té a la llegada, nos guardaron las mochilas después del check out. El desayuno estaba muy rico y era abundante. Las instalaciones eran bonitas y acogedoras.

Loved it, the room size & comfort, breakfast, and especially the staff/service. Nice area of town. We could hear the creek all day/night with the windows open. They did our laundry which was really nice. They ordered a cake and set it up as a surprise for my husband's birthday. It was possibly the best birthday cake I've ever had in my life. I really appreciated what the staff did to make that happen.

It would’ve been very useful to have received upfront parking instructions & how to get there, as Chefchouan has countless “park & walk” guides (although they look more like a scam and actually tried to scam us rather than pointing us the right direction to the hotel). After calling the hotel they helped us to the right place and facilitated parking instructions front of the hotel - altogether very well resolved by Dar Elrio, but we had rather been saved the hassle upfront :)

A beautifully designed hotel with a warm welcome and very attentive staff. The breakfast was delightful, and the room was quiet, peaceful, clean, and tidy, making for an exceptionally comfortable stay.
