I can't say enough about the charming Wisteria Guest House on Salt Spring Island. Slow mornings in the garden and lazy afternoons with Steve, the host cat. There could not have been a better place to spend my first three days on the island. The Cottage, the surrounding gardens, and the Guest House itself were so incredibly magical and relaxing. It was just what I needed. I hope to make it back one day.

Lovely spot, walking distance to the centre of town. Large and comfortable shared spaces as well. Access to coffee, ice, water etc. Room was really nice. We will return.

We liked the privacy of self check in. The guest living area was very unique and Steve- the cat is an added bonus.

The facilities were stunning, so many beautiful flowers and plants. We got Studio 1 and had a pretty patio nestled in the back which was very private. Its incredibly quite at Wisteria House.

A little more hangup or closet space. There was a little mounted hanging rack inside the door but only had 2 hangers. Our clothes were pretty wrinkly and needed somewhere to hang them and spray them with a little water and let the wrinkles come out. We hung them over the shower rod but only had 2 hangers.

Quiet location, pretty surroundings. Good clean studio space with everything you could need. Owners very accommodating, allowed early check in as I wasn’t feeling well. Had lots of cuddles from Steve the cat which made me feel better

I had a lovely stay at Wisteria Guest House again. I have stayed here for many years for my holidays. My room was lovely as usual & had everything I needed. Such a welcoming place for a vacation stay.

There was a problem with the toilet often not flushing properly. There was no toaster which made breakfast difficult.

We enjoyed our yearly visit to the Wistetia Inn. We have stayed in the cottage the last few years. It is the perfect size for two guests. The cottage has a very comfortable bed and nice seating area in the garden. The inn is very quiet yet so close to everything. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook but we enjoy walking down to the many restaurants as well as the Saturday market. Nice not to have to drive. Thanks Steve (the cat) for the excellent customer service! See you next year.

It is such a lovely place. Comfortable and clean room. The shared living room feels like home. The surroundings are very pretty. And it’s just a 10min walk away from the Marina.

We stayed in Room 4 at Wisteria Guest House on Salt Spring Island and had a wonderful experience. The guest house is set in a beautiful, quiet residential neighbourhood. The room was charming with lots of natural light, a very comfortable king-size bed and a clean bathroom and a handy mini fridge. The hosts Len and Kim were friendly, courteous, and very accommodating throughout our stay. We especially loved the lovely, large, common room where you could grab a coffee or tea (from a great selection) and an afternoon cookie! The sunny backyard garden area added to the warm, home-like atmosphere and it was a great spot to read a book or chat with other guests. Steve the cat, the official greeter, was a delightful bonus. Overall, Wisteria Guest House is a charming and peaceful place to stay, and we have recommended it to many friends.

The facility was nice and felt very welcoming. We loved the onsite cat and the fresh coffee in the morning was so nice to have. It was such a great location! I would stay again.

Not much, the rooms were small but all we needed. I would have liked the lounge lights to stay on until 10pm, the 9:30 shut off felt a little early when we were using the space to read before bed, but we just went back to our room and read in there.

Beautiful home on lovely landscaped land. Room was perfect with a small porch as well as nice shared space. Would definitely stay again.

What a great place to stay! Len was the perfect host - informative, hospitable, and respectful of our space. The location is quiet and welcoming. The beds are very comfortable, The bathrooms are clean and large. Wisteria House is convenient to the town and markets. This quaint rental exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful venue, comfortable and spotless room, flexible check-in system. The small fridge in the (standard) room was a pleasant surprise. Must not forget the welcoming, gracious host Steve, the cat. The property is nestled in a beautiful, lush garden, peacefully quiet while still within walking distance to the marina and the town of Ganges.

I only stayed two nights, thus unable to meet the human hosts due to tight schedule. We had a great communication online. I really can't think of anything I would change!

The property is beautiful with lots of greenery, lots of parking and is in a great location for us, close to Ganges. We also loved the room, the bed was huge and having our own little patio was lovely

The extra comforter in the room was too heavy for me, it would be nice to have a lighter alternative as well.

Wonderful gateway place on Salt Spring Island. We have been here before, and were so happy to come back again. Love quiet and beautiful garden, clean rooms, and of course - Steve (the cat, who lives on permises).

this was our third stay at the Wisteria and will always stay here while on Saltspring. The bed in the Cottage unit is the most comfortable we have ever slept in. The location is perfect as you can walk to Ganges in 15 minutes.

The room was nice & quiet and we appreciated the mini fridge. The large common room was fantastic: games to play, books to browse, and coffee with granola bars in the morning and home baked cookies in the afternoon. The grounds outside were lovely with greenery, gardens & flowering trees.

It would have been nice to say hello and thank-you to our hosts…we didn’t see them at all during our 4-night stay though we understand they have busy lives!

A stunning, beautiful, and quiet place that I really enjoyed staying at. Super close to town, a short walk by the water. Best part was Master Steve, a kitty that lives on the property, was beyond friendly and make my stay more wonderful! Definitely return to this gem for another getaway!

The Wisteria Guest House was nestled amongst beautiful gardens. My studio suite was cozy and had all the amenities I needed. Heated floors in the bathroom was a nice surprise. The common lounge held books, puzzles, coffee and tea, plus homemade cookies from the owners wife. Only two minutes away from the hub of downtown Ganges but still feeling like a quiet oasis. Oh and Steve the cat is the official greeter!

What did I think of the breakfast???? What breakfast? Overall, the room itself was OK, kinda cramped but about what we expected. Bed was fine, no problem there. Bathroom and shower were also decent. The big bonus was the space where all guests could gather - it was excellent!! I loved the huge book collection - even some good science fiction books (though only about 8 or 9 of them, out of what must have been a couple thousand books). The partly finished picture puzzle was a nice touch. I quite liked the background music (classical) also. The ground were also very nice, including the big red camellia bush/tree right outside our door (see attached pic).

We wanted to eat some yoghurt and berries for our breakfast, but forgot that there are absolutely no utensils at all. Tried to eat it using a coffee stirring stick, which was not very successful. I get it that you want to limit guests to just coffee/tea, but it shouldn't be a huge ask for you to put out some inexpensive (plastic is fine) utensils also, for folks who want to bring in a bit of food for themselves.

We loved this quiet, well- run Saltspring get away.Wonderful large,clean private bathroom and a comfortable bed.Loved the quilts and also easy access to the heat of the room and bathroom.So grateful for the choice of puzzles.Star of the show was Steve the cat,who purrs like a well run engine.We will be back.S and B

Great location; easy walk into Ganges. Very quiet. Room was bright and comfy.

The best place to stay on Salt Spring! The atmosphere is very welcoming and we were made to feel like family. We stay at Wisteria whenever we are on the island and the location is excellent. It is a short walk to downtown Ganges and the location is quiet with beautiful gardens. I highly recommend.

Everything was great.

This was our second stay. The place is homey, quiet, clean and has such a relaxing vibe. Love the main room with its walls of books, comfy seating, quiet music, tea and coffee bar and homemade cookies - the perfect place to read and relax in the afternoon (affectionate visits from Steve the Cat add to the ambience!) The absence of TVs, pools, gyms, ice machines, etc., is exactly why we like it here. The location is perfect - walking distance from Ganges. We will be back - again!

Super cute and well-appointed accommodations. Rooms have all the basic necessities, but the shared space has tons of books, puzzles, and items to peruse - a very charming spot! Loved that there's water (hot and cold), tea, coffee, etc available.

Beds are softer than we'd like (personal preference), and I guess you could say there isn't much sound insulation between rooms. The guests there at the time were all great, but just something to note. Our bathroom had little ants. Nothing too intrusive, but they're there. Len set out some traps, but it'll take time at this time of year.

Issues with reservation system. Never received a booking confirmation or any other email communication so booked another hotel. Charged for stay nonetheless. Dismissive response when I contacted them. They were completely unwilling to consider the error was on their side. I looked up the booking system they use and it lists numerous ways in which errors occur on the part of the hotel or booking system. So much for working with the customer to resolve a problem.

A perfect B & B find on Saltspring Island! Every detail was taken care of — and very clean! We enjoyed the ‘common area’ with a coffee/tea bar looking out to the garden - lovely even in the torrential rain. The Country theme of collectables was charming. We were greeted when we arrived which was really thoughtful. Walkable to Ganges Village and restaurants. We will book Wisteria again and definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

No breakfast offered but close to a great grocery store to stock up. We put the fridge to good use. We were there without a car but were able to get around on foot and by bus. Len, the owner, was very nice and helpful. The premises were gorgeous and the room was very comfortable.

One and only criticism were the signs. One at the entrance saying not to bother coming before book in time without prior communication. We did arrive about an hour early and were prepared to sit and wait but we were greeted right away and shown to our room (a pleasant surprise). Also, we knew that no dishes or cutlery were provided but there was a terse sign reminding guests of this. Such a friendly place except for those 2 signs.

So peaceful and well maintained. Loved the books and sitting room, and Steve the cat 🐈

A nice touch would be to offer a light continental breakfast.

A family run property, extremely well kept and maintained property with a homey atmosphere. The large family room was filled with books with a delightful day long coffee and tea service. The hosts went out of their way to welcome guests and make them feel like their stay was with friends from all around the world.

Some of the rooms had only double beds with might be a concern for couples who need more bed space.

Wisteria Guest House is a favourite place for our annual girlfriends' getaway. The rooms are comfortable and the large common room is lovely and inviting, but it's our hosts who make our stay so welcoming. Let, Beverly, Kim and Steve the cat make sure we have everything we need and more.

My husband and I had a lovely time staying in the cottage at Wisteria Guest House. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Like the rest of the property, the cottage was characterfully furnished with homely features. We loved the quirky but classy features of the whole setting, with interesting books, art and other artefacts. It was just a ten minute walk into Ganges and very close to a supermarket. We’d recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Ganges.

We had an incredibly memorable and pleasant stay at Wisteria Guest house whilst visiting Salt Spring Island. The host Len was extremely accommodating throughout our stay, and responded immediately to any queries we had. The property itself is beautiful, expertly decorated with stunning artwork and beautiful furniture. Free homemade cookies were an extra tasty bonus! The rooms are very clean and spacious, we even had a mini fridge. The guest house is about a 15 minute walk into town so it is best to have a car to explore more that the island has to offer. But does mean it is perfectly relaxing and quiet place to rest. Our only complaint was that our stay was so short! If we ever returns to salt spring island, we will absolutely be staying at Wisteria Guest House. Also Steve the cat is cute.

I liked the property and how it was decorated. There was a lot of interesting things to look at, from the plants outside to the trinkets inside. I also liked their cat, Steve, who was very friendly.

It was kind of expensive for what it was (a room with a private bathroom). I wish there was a sink in the coffee station area.

Wisteria Guest House is a lovely inn, in a quiet spot, easy walking distance to town. The rooms are warmly decorated, the owners are very interesting, and I hope to stay there again next time I'm on Salt Spring Island. Highly recommended!

A very comfortable and restorative place to stay. Loved the cat... have been missing my own. Nice welcoming touch having the cookies and home grown fruit on offer along with tea and coffee making facilities in the spacious lounge. Thoughtful decor... homely but tasteful. Peaceful garden surroundings.

I didn't miss cooking facilities, but would have liked at least a toaster to be available. Nice to have tea and toast before setting out on the day's adventures.
