Hotel Giosue' a mare Sorrento

I had a wonderful stay at Giouse a Mare and would happily recommend it. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. Travelling alone, I really appreciated how accommodating they were and how willing they were to assist whenever I needed something. They helped with transport arrangements, including transfers to and from Meta station, and were especially helpful when my travel plans changed unexpectedly. A special thank you to the reception staff for helping me reorganise things on my final day, including arranging transport for me and assisting with cancelling an excursion. Their kindness and willingness to help made a stressful situation much easier. The hotel itself was comfortable, peaceful and in a lovely location. I also enjoyed eating at the hotel restaurant, which was very convenient, particularly on the days when I didn’t feel like going out. Overall, what stood out most was the hospitality. I felt genuinely looked after during my stay, and I’m very grateful to the team for making the final part of my trip such a positive experience. Grazie mille for everything! I would definitely stay here again.

Uns hat die Anbindung zur Bahnstation Meta sehr gut gefallen, das Hotel bietet einen " Pickup Service" an. In der Nähe sind gute Restaurants direkt am Meer.

Posizione direttamente sul mare, personale molto molto gentile, terrazza per cocktail e cena. Servizio parcheggio (15€) anche se è un gioco ad incastri.

La struttura è molto basica ma con qualche problema. Stanza poco insonorizzata (senti tutto quello che succede in corridoio e non solo) e abbastanza luminose al mattina. Noi abbiamo preso la stanza base vista mare laterale (più di 220€ a notte) con vista su edificio crollato con parecchi detriti e un po’ di roba accatastata, non bellissimo da vedere. Inoltre, balcone “alla francese” non percepibile da foto Booking e/o descrizione. Abbiamo segnalato porta rotta del bagno (scorrevole da trascinare di peso per essere chiusa e aperta) e doccino (ammuffito) che buttava acqua ovunque, ma nessuno è intervenuto. Colazione nella norma ma con caffetteria fatta da macchinetta. Lo sapevamo ma, visti i servizi offerti in relazione al prezzo pagato, l’ingresso al mare(30€/20€) dovrebbe essere decisamente incluso nella stanza. Il mare davanti alla struttura è abbastanza terribile, acqua torbidissima e nei giorni della nostra permanenza puzza di fogna. La valutazione dell’hotel era molto alta e anche le recensioni erano bellissime (per questo l’avevamo scelto)…o siamo stati sfortunati o c’è qualcosa che non va!

Si può fare colazione entro le 10. Un giorno su cinque ho fatto tardi ma comunque alle 10 (neanche un minuto dopo) ero davanti la porta della sala; il cameriere alla fine mi ha fatto entrare dopo avermi urlato in faccia che se fosse successo un’altra volta non mi avrebbe aperto. Un po’ esagerato considerando che alle 10 in punto ero là e in ogni caso non si doveva rivolgere un quel modo a mio avviso.

Per me è sbagliato che le persone che alloggiano in hotel debbano pagare non solo il servizio spiaggia ma anche le docce,poi hanno televisori abbastanza nuovi ma il servizio smart ovvero netflix ecc viene bloccato dall hotel (ancora non capisco il perché)

Sorrento is amazing, the hotel is in a great location with it’s own beach, the rooms are very clean, however if you get room 301 or 302 you are above the tunnel on the main road, this is quite noisy at night as vehicles sound their horns coming round the corner. The staff are really friendly especially the cleaners and the sun bed staff. The food in the restaurant is hit and miss with some very good food and some mediocre. Sorrento itself is beautiful with amazing restaurants and bars. The major disappointment was when we checked out a 10am, to be told we had to pay for the beach, we weren’t getting picked up until 17:00, this is not good enough, and the receptionist who checked us out was very matter of fact and not very accommodating. Other than that we had a fantastic holiday, visits to Tico Tico and the crew bar, both just down from the hotel are a must, the food and service in both are excellent.

The properly was exactly as described

There was no personal touch , I had contacted the hotel in advance to advise we were coming for a milestone birthday and most hotels would offer a small gift or token or even acknowledgment this. Amare didn’t which was dissapointing as it was such an expensive hotel.

Rengjøring på rommene. Det blir mye sand når stranden er 2 meter unna, så her burde det vært vasket hver dag, også terassen. Her ble det mye sand og maur etterhvert.

Un grande punto di forza è sicuramente il personale, sempre gentilissimo, disponibile e attento alle esigenze dei clienti. Una nota speciale va ai proprietari, persone davvero umili, cordiali e alla mano, che ci hanno fatto sentire subito come a casa. Un posto che consiglio assolutamente a chi cerca qualità, tranquillità e soprattutto tanta gentilezza. Ci torneremo sicuramente! 🌊❤️

Colazione abbondante in una location "mozzafiato". Tutto il personale è cortese ed efficiente. L'ospite viene subito messo a proprio agio. La notte ci si addormenta con il sottofondo dello sciabordio del mare. Ottimo il ristorante.

Fantastic hotel, every member of the staff so friendly and helpful. Private beech is cleaned every night. Wide choice of breakfast taken overlooking the sea. Bedrooms are clean and modern. The roof top restaurant and bar is great, you eat and drink whilst watching the sunset, we were on half board with a varied selection of 3 course meals each evening which we all enjoyed. The hotel offers a shuttle during the day to the railway station and will also collect you from the drop off point by just calling them, we used this 3 times & they were there within minutes . They have a minibus you can book from 16.30 - 22.30 to take you into Sorrento and collect you, also 100m down the hill there is a public transport bus (number 008) that runs every 20 minutes for €2 that goes to Sorrento and runs until about midnight. An excellent stay & with the hotels own private beach right outside with safe swimming the location is ideal.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questa struttura e non possiamo che parlarne magnificamente. L'hotel è davvero molto, molto bello e curato nei minimi dettagli. Camere pulitissime, accoglienti e dotate di ogni comfort possibile. Ci si sente subito a casa. Tutto il personale è di una cordialità, gentilezza e disponibilità uniche, sempre pronti a soddisfare ogni richiesta con il sorriso. La cena servita sulla bellissima terrazza vista mare è stata un'esperienza squisita e buonissima, unita a un panorama da togliere il fiato. Nota di merito anche per la colazione: super abbondante, variegata e ricca di opzioni per tutti i gusti. Lido e Spiaggia: Comodissimo il lido con spiaggia privata, perfetto per rilassarsi in totale tranquillità. L'hotel è la scelta ideale sia per le coppie in cerca di una fuga romantica, sia per chi viaggia in famiglia. Super approvato e straconsigliato a tutti. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente!

La cordialità e la professionalità dello staff non è una cosa così scontata. I servizi che offre tra cui la spiaggia, parcheggio per l’auto e la possibilità di prenotate la navetta per/da Sorrento rende il soggiorno in struttura piacevole e soprattutto rilassante.

This hotel is an idyllic setting on the seafront—a place where you feel right at home. The staff are so welcoming and helpful and always went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure everything was just perfect.

Camera ampia ma senza persiane o serrande(la tenda oscurante lascia passare luce già alle 5,30 del mattino), letto matrimoniale di ridotte dimensioni.

This is hard, as the hotel itself was very aesthetically pleasing, spotlessly clean and some members of staff were nice (the drivers especially) But there was just something we couldn’t put our finger on, which made the experience quite average - I’ll let you read what we thought and come to your own conclusions! Unfortunately due to delays we arrived at our accommodation after midnight to no food and one small bottle of water in our room, each. Our room was really beautiful, lovely comfy bed and with a stunning view (only had one plug socket though which made things tricky). We had a great night sleep the first night, but then sadly a very noisy family arrived in the room next door to us and as the walls were so thin they woke us up every night after midnight shouting and banging doors. I even ended up in the corridor telling them to shhh! I called reception and they didn’t seem to care. I spent the rest of the holiday sleeping with ear plugs in and a podcast on. Breakfast was mainly sweet pastries and a small selection of fruit, cheese, meat and hot egg dishes. Probably to be expected as I kept having to remind myself this is a pretty small hotel. On our first day we went down to the beach and the member of beach staff asked us where we’d like to sit and we chose a sun lounger on the front ‘row’ by the sea. I chose the hotel based on the fact that it had a private beach and that free sun loungers were included in the Jet2 package. The next day we went back to the beach and as we made our way to the same position that we were in the day before a different member of staff shouted across the beach the equivalent of “oi, where do you think you’re going?” He asked our room number and then we were then told that as we were Jet2 customers we were no allowed to sit just anywhere we fancied: we could only sit on the next few rows away from the sea and where he put us. I know this doesn’t sound like a big deal but I *really* love the sea, sitting near it and swimming in it. We live in the Midlands as far away from the sea as you can get, so this is the deciding factor when booking our holiday. We contacted our Jet2 helper and they quite abruptly told me that we were told when we reached the hotel that that was the case, but I can assure you that we absolutely were not, plus it doesn’t say anywhere when I booked that we would have no choice about where we would sit. The other Jet2 customers that were staying there were also similarly in the dark. The better sun loungers were reserved for people paying, often from outside of the hotel. The member of staff told us that we didn’t get the good loungers because we didn’t pay as much. If I’d even had the option to upgrade, I would have. So I was already a little bit unhappy, but then midway through our stay, with no explanation, half the beach was cleared of sun loungers and parasols so ended up sitting as far away from the sea as it was possible to get. With no explanation other than apparently that’s what The Boss told the member of staff to do. Another point to mention is that no late checkout was offered even though we asked and offered to pay. There is no shower room or anywhere to change so our last day was just spent sitting in reception until our pick up at 5pm. So, sun lounger-gate aside, there are a few good points about this hotel: the free shuttle up to Meta and into Sorrento was SO helpful I can’t even explain - it’s a very steep hill you’d have to negotiate otherwise! Sorrento is lovely and we went a couple of times. Also, the drinks and food in the restaurant are very good quality (if not a bit pricey - we found Sorrento restaurants to be as good and cheaper) however we did see the kitchen staff smoking which is a big no-no! After that we ate out. In summary, the hotel building and location are very nice, but it was just lacking in that level of care for customers and nice little touches that I would have expected from a family run hotel.

The view is super beautiful and the room was clean and everything was very great! The beach gets cleaned everyday. There is a free shuttle to meta station which with respect to the specific location of the hotel is very handy. The reception helped a lot with suggesting where to go and with clear instructions.

I wish they didn’t close the beach at 19.

הצוות המקסים קיבל אותנו ע״י איסוף עם שאטל של המלון- מה שעזר מאוד בהתניידות שלנו באזור. המיקום היה נהדר, הנוף היה פשוט מושלם בעיקר לחובבי השקיעות! החדר היה נקי, ארוחת בוקר מצוינת, נהנינו מאוד מהחוף של המלון שהיה נקי (שימוש במתקני החוף בעלות נוספת). ישנו בר בגג המלון, נחמד מאוד לצפות בשקיעה בנוף! הצוות נענה לכל שאלה, כולם ללא יוצא מן הכלל מסבירי פנים, ממליצה בחום, בטוחה שאחזור.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful, with amazing views that made our stay even more special. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly throughout, always going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The breakfast is also great. The evening meal was great and there are some lovely restaurants nearby right on the water.

The main drawback is that the hotel is more remote than it first appears. Although it looks to be only 12–15 minutes from central Sorrento, taxis can be expensive (around €60) and difficult to find, so you're quite reliant on the hotel's shuttle service - thank goodness they have that! It would be helpful if the hotel provided more information on arrival about how the shuttle works, what's nearby, and the best ways to get around, as this wasn't always easy to work out independently.

I’m here now with a group payed for single feed with air Canada on a tour the best of Italy And got the worst room ever payed 7300 k for the 10 day and got here and got a room with a connection and went to the front desk to change my room and did nothing for me Restaurant was horrible too Don’t waste your money here

Una ubicación maravillosa si te gusta disfrutar del mar, los atardeceres. Queda a 15 minutos en auto del centro de Sorrento, pero te llevan y traen con un servicio propio. El personal maravilloso, el restaurante nocturno con vistas increíbles.

Es muy difícil llegar al hotel desde el puerto, los taxis por alguna razón no acceden a ir, de igual manera desde la estación de tren. Si o si cuadren el trasnfer con el hotel desde la estación de tren, sino pueden estar fácil más de una hr tratando de conseguir taxi. El transfer es gratis

We recently stayed at Hotel Giosuè and overall had a lovely stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, peaceful, and the scenery overlooking the sea is absolutely amazing. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing away from the busy centre of Sorrento, the location is perfect. The beds were extremely comfortable (and I’m very fussy with beds!), the pillows and sheets were lovely, the room was spotless every day, and the air conditioning worked really well. Breakfast was excellent with so much choice, and even the coffee machine was surprisingly good, which is rare in hotels! A kettle in the room was also appreciated. The reception staff were outstanding, especially Maria, who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. We were dropped off and collected at the church in Meta because the coach couldn’t access the hotel, but we knew this before booking and the hotel arranged quick transfers to and from the property, which only took around five minutes. Although taxis into Sorrento were very expensive (around €60), we found the Number 8 bus at the bottom of the hill fantastic — every 20 minutes and only €2 each way. The private beach area was lovely and very cute. We stayed in room 208 with a side sea view. The view was still nice, but the balcony wasn’t really usable, and I do wish we’d known this beforehand as we probably would have upgraded to a full sea view room with a proper balcony. Unfortunately, the main reason I can’t give this hotel 5 stars was our experience with the restaurant. We ate there one evening and the food wasn’t great, but more concerning was seeing the restaurant manager/cook repeatedly smoking while handling and arranging food in the open kitchen area. This happened more than once and was clearly visible to guests. We reported it to reception, but nothing seemed to change, and later that evening we could still see him smoking in the kitchen area from the rooftop terrace. Because of this, we didn’t eat there again. It’s such a shame because the hotel itself is lovely and most of the staff were fantastic, but this issue really let the experience down for us. Unfortunately, because of repeatedly seeing someone smoking while handling food, we would not return to this hotel.

A little difficult to get out and about and taxis expensive. Shuttle bus not often enough Main problem was the Pizza festival which was extremely noisy for 3 of our 4 nights. A warning about this before we arrived would have been preferable

We booked this Hotel Giosue a Mare in Meta because we wanted a small hotel, near a beach but not in the main tourist part of Sorrento. We got a lovely hotel right on a private beach. It's staff are delightful, friendly, consistently helpful and all of them put up with my appalling attempts to speak Italian! We didn't eat our main meal there every night but we could have. I had the best tuna I have ever had there, one evening in the rooftop restaurant. We certainly ate snacks there quite often and sometimes the snacks meant we didn't need a main meal. We had chosen one of the cheaper rooms and it was not large, although bigger than a premier inn room, while the bathroom was quite big, and both were extremely clean. It was very quiet. The hotel is at the bottom of the cliff at Meta.You can walk up if you're feeling energetic, but there is a bus or a lift. However, the hotel will organise free car rides to Meta train station and in the evenings free trips to Sorrento centre as well as the return. We took rail trips out for the first few days; a guided one to Pompei and unguided one to Herculaneum as well as Sorrento and then, exhausted, spent the last days of our holiday swimming or lying on the beach. It's a very good place if you want that sort of a visit. You don't need a car, the railway and buses are cheap and functionally excellent if colourful. We had a great holiday and cannot recommend the hotel enough but next time we go we will get a bigger room.

Tutto ciò che serve per un soggiorno in cerca del distacco dalla routine quotidiana. Ogni servizio pensato viene offerto accompagnato dal rumore del mare l'intera giornata.

All the staff but particularly the chef were both helpful and informative. Our room had an incredible view out over the sea towards Vesuvius and beyond; an absolute pleasure sitting out on the balcony watching evening fall. Breakfast was plentiful and unrushed, the room clean and spacious, the location peaceful and beautiful. As we were there for only a few nights, and ate outside, I can’t comment on the restaurant or bar but what we saw looked attractive and inviting. There is a complimentary service to take you into/ pick you from Sorrento in the afternoons and evenings. We used this on the first day but found the local bus to be more convenient and a chance to see a bit more of the area.

The only issue was that the walls are very thin and we could hear everything happening in the next room. It wasn’t a huge issue but once you realise you can hear your neighbours, you understand they can hear you!

Location is perfect easy access with bus that just starts and ends at the hotel area going to sorrento center. Love it coz its away from the crowd. Though its april nit the peak summer time.

Stayed for 5 days, on the 2nd day thought we would like our towels change, even though i followed the instructions if we want it change, but they never change until we check out. Its a small thing, no big deal though.
