Pretty hotel close to the mountain lift! The staff was wonderful and had a great menu for the kids. Room was large and comfortable with a great terrace! Pool was beautiful.
Our room was an older room.
Nichts
Essen sehr gut, Zimmer Komfortabel, Naturschwimmteich
Stilvolles, gut ausgestattetes Hotel, beste Lage, schöner Wellnessbereich, Tiefgarage.
Schönes Hotel in toller Lage mit sehr guter Küche. Sehr freundliches Personal.
Goed hotel, eten uitstekend. Ligging tov gondel zeer goed.
The food was good, generous and big variety, the cook was sympatic. location was very close to ski rent/gondola. Room spacious. The ski storage was nice, spacious and heater for boots.
The sauna is forbidden for kids<15yo. ( Should have been written more clearly in the description, in my point of view). The kids corner tiny but present. Tap water is extra. The pool is nice looking "1unfortunately" it was fully natural => very cold in winter
Lief personeel, fijne kamers, heerlijke week gehad!
Nvt
it would be nice to have an indoor pool, but is ok with the outdor pool.
Remek az elhelyezkedés, felvonó közel. Bőséges sokfogásos étkezés délutáni kiegészítő teázással, süteménnyel. Kedves, barátságos személyzet. Mindenkinek csak ajánlani tudom. 😊
Nem volt ilyen.
This hotel is very clean and well maintained. The stuff is the friendliest we have ever experienced. The dishes were prepared with thought and skill by the chef. We really enjoyed all of it: breakfast, snack and dinner. The sauna area is very relaxing and picturesque.
There is nothing not to like
NEGATIV GIBT ES NICHT !

Food was good, excellent breakfast, overall facilities nice including the spa and very friendly staff.
The coffee, they need to obtain a proper coffee maker
the view
lots noise from small kids but not they’re foult. it was first time going without kids just to relax and not expecting to be so many small babies. Again is no one fault.
The Alpenschlossl is an exceptional hotel, the quality is evident. The hotel owners and staff are so kind and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant is exceptional and coupled with great facilities and super close proximity to the Alpendorf lift station, it genuinely deserves full marks. I've been skiing in Austria for many years but I have every intention of returning to the Alpenschlossl.
We stayed there for 4 nights with 3 kids including a young baby - the personal touch of the stuff and the hotel management was definitely present! The playground outside was amazing perfect for the kids including some pet rabbits - it felt very safe for the kids to go outside and play after dinner as there were lots of other kids playing there. The food was also delicious and with such a variety! dinner always had a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff always keen to help. The hotel is run by a lovely lady - it seems like the business has been passed down in the family and they really do know how to consider their guests and give them a true relaxing and attentive experience. The room was also lovely with a breathtaking view of the Alps. It is also walking distance to the ghost mountain which has lots of activities for kids to do all the way up to the top (there’s a mini train which takes you up) and a cable car !!
We stayed at the Alpenschloessl in February for five days. We are a family of four with two girls aged 7 and 10. The Hotel is located directly in front of the lift so that´s very convenient. We had a family room which was spacious enough for a family and a balcony with a lovely view. The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The cons: The decor especially in the rooms / bathroom is extremely dated. All very clean and spotless but in need of a facelift. The food was ok, not amazing like we´ve previously had in other hotels. The vegetarian options were average like pasta, pasta and tasteless dishes so definitely room for improvement there. The desserts were amazing , always! The kids food was just AWFUL! pasta, pizza, chips ! unacceptable for the price. The slopes were great but ...never go in the holidays!! we had a 45 minutes wait on the lift every single day, so not worth it having so many other beautiful ski areas in the region. All in all, a nice stay, but not perfect. Ok if you don´t mind the old and dated decor and if you´re not vegetarian !
We have had a brilliant time during our short stay at this hotel. It is well organised right from the reception and right across. All the meals we had were first class. The hotel is within walking distance to the lift. Very convenient. A big thank you to all the staff who looked after us so well especially Yli. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a great skiing trip with excellent hospitality at the hotel.
Calling all discerning clients, this hotel offers everything a well travelled client could wish for. Staff, food, location, spa facilities cleanliness, and value for money. Put it to the test should you dare...
Friendly and attentive staff make for a very relaxed and happy holiday. The standard of the service all round is excellent - delicious and plentiful food and well appointed and beautifully clean rooms. Great base for hiking and accessing the many stunning sights of SalzburgerLand.
So yes lovely hotel although very expensive! I had three nights here while on a company ski trip. Large, clean room with fantastic views of the mountains. I opted for breakfast which was ok, no porridge. The staff were attentive and friendly although there were some language issues but nothing that would upset my stay. The hotel has an ok gym and the pool is shared via a corridor with another Hotel. One little bit of advice, on returning late to the hotel you need to use a night door which was quite hard to find. On the whole a nice stay and I'd go again.
We spent a week here in August 2016 with our two children, 5 and 7 years old. The weather in Austria is changeable, so you have to reckon with some rainy days. The indoor pool and the children's programme helped here enormously. The sauna was good for us parents too! The hotel is clean and fresh. The staff are very helpful. The summer crowd is perhaps more German speaking than might be the case in the ski season, but that didn't seem to make a difference. The food is good and a step above your typical Alpine fare. My only complaint here was that there was little in the way of vegetables for the children (not that they minded). The area is lovely. The hotel is in the ski area, not the town. Again, great for kids, with a big playground at the bottom of the gondola. The Geisterberg play area at the top of the gondola was a real treat, well worth the cost of a ride up. All in all it was a good trip. I would recommend this hotel for other families with younger kids.
Our kids love it, we love it,... From the morning start with a great breakfast to friendly staff and amazing dinners this hotel really offers perfect vacation spot. The location just across the street from the ski lift is perfect to start your skiing adventure and after the skiing you can spend some more calories in the gym or just relax in the pool, sauna or enjoy a massage. There is also a small playroom, where kids can play, draw, watch cartoons and in the afternoon they also offer complimentary babysitting. We've been regular guests in the hotel for years and plan to revisit again!
The family & staff are really warm hearted and do their utmost to ensure that everyone enjoys the stay. Chef is above average Austrian with a kitchen offering both great and varying dishes during the whole week. No wienerschnitzels here, thanks God! Their menu is a 6-course with a 8 course gala-dinner once a week. Very nice wine assortment as well. Just a few minutes walk to the ski-lift & rental.
This hotel and our week’s holiday over the Christmas week surpassed all of my expectations! Staying over Christmas was truly a magical experience and I already feel enticed by the the hotel’s charm to return in a future Summer or Winter season. We found that the hotel half-board package provided exceptional value considering the high standard of cuisine and service that was provided. From breakfast, through to afternoon snacks and to dinner, the food was of high quality, plentiful and varied. The room was spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and surroundings, with a balcony facing to the south with a panoramic view. The Family Vienhhauser run a beautiful purpose built hotel which has great ambience and fantastic facilities, which includes a first class spa and pool. The hotel attracts many regular guests which cross the whole age spectrum. But alone bricks and mortar don’t necessarily make a holiday so great, it was the ambience and genuinely friendly team of staff which consists of two generations of the family Viehhauser and a committed team of staff who helped make our stay so enjoyable, away from the stresses and strains of every day life. Skiing lessons were arranged for us and the package included ski passes and a healthy discount off ski equipment. There are so many attractions whatever the season is. Salzburg itself is a beautiful historical city with an amazing castle and surrounding city walls. Friends recommended Austria as a place to go for first time skiers and after some research I identified this hotel as a good match as it was only 50 mins away from Salzburg, 10 mins away from a historical town St. Johanne and situated in close proximity to the Alpendorf ski resort, which is well known for its plentiful ranges and infrastructure for all abilities. Thank you Hansi and Elfi and to the team of staff.
While I generally love travelling to Austria for the great hospitality and warm, welcoming hotels, the Alpenschloessl exceeded all expectations! When we first arrived at the hotel, the staff was exceptionally but genuinely friendly, and not over the top as found in larger hotels. The rooms themselves are reasonably big, and come with all necessities. At first glance they seem nice, but not exceptional. However, with an attention to detail, they've managed to put in many useful hidden features and amenities which you wouldn't otherwise expect from such a small hotel. The spa in the hotel is quite limited with a sauna, waterbeds and a few wellness rooms as well as a small gym overlooking the valley below. However, in the basement there is a short tunnel connecting the hotel with the neighboring Tannenhof, where there is access to a pool and larger spa area included. The food is exceptional, with a large breakfast buffet, a bit of cake and soups after skiing and then a large 6 course dinner included. All in all, I was genuinely surprised by the quality of this hotel, especially seeing that it is quite reasonably priced. I normally don't write reviews, but the service I received here deserves to be recognized!
The family Viehhauser with their staff really know how to pamper their guests. The easy, relaxed and still high class service with a fantastic eye for details makes you feel that the experience is not just a family hotel but your own paradise. The hotel is high class, the restaurants chefs & service staff are really something you seldom see. And every evening a new twist to it. Sauna and spa areas as well as gym are of high standard as well. Of course with the strange mixed sauna that one find here.... Coming from Finland I must say the wooden hut-sauna outside is excellent when one can throw some water on the stow. The other saunas are probably great for those who are not used to high heat. Hotel is situated some 100 meters from main lifts where you can hire and store your ski-equipment. In the village is not many other options for dinner, but the hotels restaurant is great with new menus every evening. 5-course menus. Great alp-view from room, rooms are very spacious.
