The bed quality was the worst I've ever experienced a $50 mattress very hard and impossible to sleep on. The pillow was incredibly fat and hard impossible to sleep on I had to use the throw pillow which was Tiny and crappy. The windows to the busy road were useless for noise so we heard every single noise. On the positives breakfast was fantastic and good decent quality espresso and the place was clean and your front desk staff was friendly. If you make a little investment on the things I mentioned you would have gotten a five-star review from me

Just a warning if you have luggage; the "elevator" is not easy to get to and use. you have to lug your luggage up two sets of stairs just to get to the elevator, and the elevator drops off in between floors, so you have to lug luggage up or down another set of stairs. As a solo traveler with a standard 45 pound suitcase and a carryon and personal item, this becomes painfully awkward.

Old, run down and totally devoid of charm. Seemed clean enough, though. We stayed on the top floor because of the rooftop balcony. The balcony in itself was really nice, but the table and two chairs were literally falling apart. A balcony door, the blinds exc. were also broken and did not work.

Hôtel correct. Le personnel est très accueillant. La chambre est relativement propre mais il y a des traces de moisissures dans la salle de bain. Il est important d’apporter des bouchons d’oreilles, c’est plutôt bruyant (les murs sont en carton)… Mais pas trop cher pour Lisbonne et bien situé.

Bem localizado, porém caso necessite de acessibilidade esse não é o seu lugar. Quarto grande e confortável, cheirava um pouco de mofo, porém deixamos a porta da varanda aberta para ventilar bem e melhorou. Café da manhã bem simples, servido no restaurante ao lado e com horário bem restrito. Bom custo-benefício.

Its okay if you just want a place to sleep, which is what we were looking for. It is ideal for people with mobility. We have a stroller which made it difficult with the stairs. There is an elevator, but it does not go directly to each floor.

The staff of the property was gentle and the room decent. The only concerned was the toilet in the bathroom. It was kind of broken .

Wer nur zum schalfen kommt, ist es ok, obwohl es sehr laut sein kann. Die Speiseauswahl beim Frühstück war schlecht und hat auch nicht gut geschmeckt. Würde das Hotel nicht noch mal wählen.

Room smelled of cigarette smoke, coming through from adjoining balcony. Shower screen had no sealant at the bottom so water spilled out onto bathroom floor. Shower curtain was mouldy. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Decepcionante. Muchísimo ruido proveniente de la calle pasan ambulancias cada 30 minutos, imposible dormir. La habitación estaba al lado del cuartde baño comunitario asi que el ruido también cada que alguien iba al baño. No hay ni agua en las habitaciones. Lo ofrecen como tres estrellas pero no llega ni a una. Nuestra habitación tenia baño privado, era lo único que valía la pena. Nos cambiamos de hotel la ultima noche pues no pudimos dormir las tres que estuvimos.

we needed a place for one night and this hotel was sufficient.

El lugar es tranquilo, está bien ubicado, cerca pasa un autobús que te lleva a la torre de Belén y el metro está a 10 minutos que te lleva al aeropuerto y al centro. De hecho puedes ir caminando a los lugares turísticos.

A decent hostel with a very limited buffet. The room was nice, complete with a closet and a balcony, and it was clean.

Pretty average hotel small room. Staff helpful though. It is a good walk into the city about half an hour. Rooms clean and has a small balcony. Don't know if I would stay in this hotel again as so far out of the city. A lot of restaurants about the hotel though.

The hotel had a slightly odd set up but was comfortable and meet all the needs. There were issues with our shower and hair dryer, we ended up using one of the extra bathrooms down the hall and found it easy enough, however had the hotel been full I’m not sure how that would have worked out.

Was not really like in the pictures. But considering price it was ok. Room only had two electric outlets and there was no handtowels in the shared bathroom. Location was nice and you could walk to any attractions.

The room we stayed in was infested with bed bugs. Hotel staff was accommodating but we found one on the ceiling and left with so many bites.

Personnel très gentil et à l’écoute. Bon emplacement, hôtel confortable et sécuritaire, très propre avec très bon resto juste à côté de l’hôtel. Seul bémol, on dort bien mais les matelas sont mous. Nous avons adoré l’endroit!

The bed was not good at all with a big holl in the middle. Very noisy and antiquated. I spent one night in this hotel and I regret my choice. I didn't slept well because of the bed and the pillow. It was too hot in the room.

La struttura e molto semplice, con il problema dell’asse dire che arriva solo fino al terzo piano, ma le scale si fanno piuttosto bene; la nostra “suite” era molto spaziosa così come il bagno, ma mancava un piccolo frigo bar dove poter lasciare acqua e qualche altro cibo. Tutto sommato buona esperienza.

Trying to end my trip on a good note and spent a bit more for a 3star hotel. This is definitely a 2 star!! My room was clean and spacious but there were no blinds and a sheer curtain which did nothing with the street light outside my window. The neighborhood offers nothing special and is just a bit far dragging luggage on cobblestones from the metro station. I was disappointed and definitely preferred staying in old town. No comparison.

In three weeks of travelling in Portugal this was the most expensive hotel we stayed in- a splurge for our last two nights. What a disappointment. It is nothing like the photos and very definitely only a two star hotel. The lobby area is utilitarian and unwelcoming. Reception staff are not welcoming at all. The lifts stop on a mezzanine level so you have to carry your luggage up stairs. The rooms are in poor condition with damaged walls, airconditioning not working, outside metal shutters removed from windows and only sheer curtains meaning the room is not dark, tea and coffee facilities not provided as advertised. The rooms are very noisy with only single glazing onto a very busy road. It is a long way to the metro and the cobblestones are very bad in this area wreaking havoc on suitcase wheels. There is nothing romantico at all about this property.

Posizione ottimale per raggiungere la metro e i mezzi in generale. Con una bella passeggiata si può arrivare a Rossio e piazza del commercio. Anche i dintorni non sono male. Innumerevoli ristorantini e negozi. Colazione ottima, buon rapporto qualità prezzo. Purtroppo ci è stata data una stanza vicina ad un Office e li sbattimento continuo di porta giorno e notte era alquanto disturbante

Questa struttura pubblicizza servizi che non dà ovvero la Spa e la camera, io avevo prenotato una suite familiare, in realtà era solo una normale camera molto sporca. Sporchi i guanciali, le coperte e gli asciugamani.

I knew what I was getting into when I booked this hotel so my expectations weren't too high. The rooms are small and bathrooms are shared. If I counted properly, there were 10 rooms (mix of singles and doubles) per floor served by two bathrooms per floor. Surprisingly there didn't seem to be any bathroom back-ups during my stay. The room was small and featured an incredibly uncomfortable single bed, but it was what I expected. No fridge or microwave in the room, but there was a shared kitchen on the 1st floor with a fridge and microwave. The location was excellent, perhaps a 10 minute walk from Picoas metro stop; slightly longer to Marques de Pombal or Avenida metro stops. Optional continental breakfast next door at Hello Vietnam restaurant was OK; skip the scrambled eggs from a mix for a hard boiled egg. There are two small grocery stores down the block. It seems that the hotel is located on a quiet side street but looks can be deceiving. While not a major thoroughfare, the street connects two major plazas, so gets a lot of traffic and has two bus routes (luckily, buses seem to stop running around 10pm). My major complaint was the noise--the street is paved with cobblestones (Belgian Blocks), car, truck and bus tires make an incredible racket as they drive over them. Some rooms at the back of the hotel might be marginally quieter. No regrets staying at this affordable hotel--but my ability to sleep definitely suffered!

Location is about 10 mins walk from Marquês. The rooms are basic but clean and the bathroom was quite nice. However the roller blind wouldn't close properly and despite me asking them to fix it, they didn't. It's also winter in Lisboa and some heating is required. That didn't work properly either! As somewhere just to sleep for a few hours, it's OK but I thought it was over priced for what it offered.

It was a good location - walking distance to main attractions. Great restaruants near by. Clost to metro. Friendly staff. Basic accomidation but very good value for the price.

L'hôtel Universo Romantico a bien rempli son contrat concernant la qualité/prix. La salle de bain et les toilettes étaient à l'extérieur de la chambre mais nous avons choisi cet hôtel en connaissance de cause. Le personnel a l'accueil était sympathique

I have stayed three days in this hotel however the towel were not changes even once i had to request the manager to give us a new one on the last night . the room was not cleaned. the day i arrived until 5 there was no towels in the room. the location was horrible away from metro its a lonely road after 10.00pm. the breakfast was excellent. staff were helpful however some had not idea of the surrounding. If you want to live in the city then i don't recommend this place. one plus point was that the manger was vey helpful and humble.

This place is all you need. Breakfast was great. The rooms are a bit small and sound travels quite a bit but worth it for the price point.

Wir hatten zu dritt ein grosszügiges Zimmer im obersten Stockwerk mit Terrasse zum Innenhof, war sehr ruhig, Frühstück gabs im Lokal gleich nebenan. Uns hat alles gut gefallen.

Hemos estado muy cómodos en la habitación. El baño era compartido pero estaba muy limpio,al igual que la cocina compartida. Por destacar algo negativo es que tiene ascensor pero no llega a todas las plantas y teníamos el ultimo piso. Personal muy amable y desayuno muy bueno

Great size room, great bathroom, air conditioned. My only (minor) criticism is that, while there was a kettle in the room there was no tea/coffee provision. I asked at reception and was told they weren't provided - in which case why put a kettle in the room? That simple thing would have raised our rating. Otherwise very happy, very well located (10 minute walk to Avenida Metro).

L’emplacement de l’établissement est bien, l’ascenseur pratique. Chambre grande avec un beau balcon mais mal agencée, salle de bain (douche) noire de moisissures, serviette troués. Dommage de ne pas avoir de lit parapluie pour bébé aussi. Petit déjeuner peu varié. Et enfin chambre (Porte) complètement non insonorisée. Ce n’est pas un mauvais établissement mais certains nombre de chose son as revoir.

Falta de toalhas ,faltava uma porta no banheiro , não havia chá nem no quarto nem no bar do hotel , para o pequeno almoço temos que sair do hotel e ir a loja ao lado mesmo sendo incluído na reserva , a roupa de cama estava manchada quando cheguei e as toalhas também foi a minha pior experiência . Não recomendo e sem falar que fiquei no quarto romântico …

Très bruyant

Estadia muito boa. Limpeza, alimentação, atendimento, banheiro, tudo muito bom. Apesar do nosso quarte ser bom, espaçoso e com camas confortáveis, não tinha muita iluminação natural.

O quarto estava degradado , tomadas ao nível da almofada , o duche com bolor , e imenso barulho durante a noite , acabámos por não descansar nada.

J’ai trouvé que c’était très mouvementé la nuit. Bruyant dans la rue. Le plancher était sale avec des graines de nourriture.

I stayed here with a group of girls. We stopped for a week and enjoyed it a lot. The personal was friendly and helpful. We reserved the stay in a prior and paid when arrived. When one of the rooms with a balcony was available, one of my friends could change easily with additional pay. The breakfasts were included. They had fruits and national "pastel de nata" tarts along with eggs and bacon.

Me and my friend stayed here for 4 nights and we are very satisfied. Room and toilet as weel as the whole guesthouse is very clean. Brekafest was tasty ans staff was very friendly and helpfull with all the informations we needed. Price was reasonable for all of that. We for sure recommend this place!

If you're looking for a central place to see Lisbon, this is a great choice indeed. It's relatively cheap and only about 5-7 min walk to Marquês de Pombal metro station. The only thing missing was shower/toilet in room. Being by myself that was fine and enough, a bed is a bed, but wouldn't stay there with my wife mainly due to the shower/toilet thing.

My Overall hotel rating is average. The room amenities/comfort were very standard. The location not bad.

Stayed at the Universo Romantico for 2 nights, it’s centrally located, the staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble, it’s well priced for the area, I would definitely stay again, down side it’s a small room with shared bathroom, still overall very good for the money

nothing special about this place in fact its not even close to the city centre however my issue was about the parking facility wich was broadly advertised by the hotel upon arrival i was told the parking was available at 150 meters away of the building at a 25 euros per night or on the nearby streets for an hourly fee at my own risk. when i confronted the staff member about it he acted as if i was lying and claimed the hotel never advertised parking anywhere even after been showed a research screenshot of the website clearly showing parking was available if you are driving to lisbon do not stay at this place for two reasons first there's no parking facilities nearby second the staff will give you an attitude

It was nice to have 24 hour concierge and the rooms were clean.

Helpfull staff who strive to make your stay comfortable. Big dubbel bed, good AC, very small balcony. Room with bathroom near bathroom for other guests so noisy all the time with people using it. AC not functioning but after they adjusted it in all the rooms connected, it worked. 20 minutes walk to Marques de Pombal with lots of bus connections and a metro. Breakfast with scrambled eggs (not warm), butter, jam, bread, milk, orange juice, croissant and coffee maskin. Had to ask for clean towels. Lots of steps to reach the elevator

Hotel is based in a good area not too far from Lisbon’s lively touristy spots with bars and restaurants. Staff friendly and accommodating, room was clean however quite basic, no fridge in the room, bathroom could probably do with some shelves or a stand where you can place your toiletries, not all rooms come with bathrooms as outside of our room which had a bathroom was a common bathroom for other guests, unfortunately walls are quite thin and we could hear people washing in a common bathroom. Another thing that you could possibly do is to maybe put a sticker on the door for the common bathroom for people no to slam the door as it was quite loud in our room, and it was used through the night hence waking us up. Overall stay was good.

This hotel is clean and green line Metro is just across street. It is in very convenient location. Hotel is very basic without Microwave, Refrigerator and hair dryer. Wifi is slow, but usable and be patient. Overall is good place to stay.

Really thoughtful and helpful staff, even got cold milk in for us for breakfast, that British habit of liking it in our tea! Room was clean and very comfortable the only slight downside, ( not a complaint, it is just what it is!) with shared bathrooms ( we did have en suite) there can be quite a bit of noise from the corridors and people go to and from bathroom, but given the cost and the overall experience of this hotel I would stay there again. Easy access to Metro and some lovely places to visit within walking distance of hotel.

Room was spacious and clean, bed was comfortable. Staff were helpful and efficient, throughout. Location is not in the city centre, but close (about 10 min. walk) to metro station. Breakfast was very filling, with a wide variety provided. Wifi worked well without any issues. We had a good, comfortable stay.

The product of this hotel is good with spacious room and well equipped bathroom. The breakfast is rich in choice and very good for Portuguese standards. The "private parking" is not owned by the hotel but rather by another company and is essentially a public garage, which can be used by anyone. Nevertheless it is protected and safe. Overall I can recommend this hotel.

A 20 minute walk to the biggest busiest rotunda Marquez de Pombal. A massive traffic intersection with some of the finest 5-star hotel. Once you get to the square, you are have access to buses and metro stations. Also the start of Hop-On Hop-Off bus terminal for 3 different bus tour companies: Yellow bus, Lisbon Sightseeing and Grayline bus and Sintra Express. Shopping is another 5-10 minute taxi right or 2-3 Metro stops on the Blue line to Corte Ingles 13-storey department store or to the Rossio tourist and shopping area. Guesthouse is converted from an apartment and still need a lot of operational improvements...room amenities, furniture, etc. Restaurant operated by the guesthouse provided bood breakfast and the lunch/dinner menu is acceptably good. A local supermarket is in the next block. Very good value for money. Receptionist speaks good English,very friendly and very helpful. Rooms are spacious. Good value for money.
