Reviewed Mar 1, 2026The whole experience was brilliant, we had a fantastic stay there and the on site manager was incredibly helpful and thoughtful in making sure that we were comfortable. Loved the plunge pool and all of the extra luxury details. We would definitely stay here again!

Reviewed Mar 17, 2025Very nice and neat property. Has everything to make a stay comfortable. Loved the heated pool, just wish the weather was better to make more use of it. Lots of wood and enough braai space. Everyone had their own bathroom which was great. Wifi was good and the tv had enough options. Also a tv in 2 rooms so everyone could watch their own thing.

Very small suggestion- We had a vito and there is a metal piece that sticks out on the gate entrance- I was so worried we would bump it. I know it’s for safety reasons but if it was possible to move it to so that it doesn’t obstruct the size it would be amazing.

Reviewed Jul 8, 2023The house exceeded our expectations. Spacious, luxurious, comfortable extremely well equipped and perfect position. John greeted us to hand over the keys on arrival in the evening; the fire was going and heaters were put on already. Our stay was made very easy and easy comfortable throughout; there were beach towels to use, filtered water, firewood and lighters, bath salts, shampoos and other bathroom essentials were provided and beds and couches were very cosy too. The house was serviced daily by the lovely Bonnie. We would 100 percent recommend the Oyster Shack and love to be back.

Reviewed Nov 17, 2022Beautiful house perfect for a family with a playground and so many great areas to hang out. 2min walk to the most gorgeous river mouth and beach. I would highly recommend staying here, it’s super cosy.
Leaving was so hard….we wanted to stay forever!
