Reviewed Aug 12, 2026It was a fine little hotel within walking distance of the train station. The staff were nice and accommodating of my nearly non-existent Japanese.
The furnishings in the room were old, which I don’t mind except for that the alarm clock in the headboard (which I can’t imagine anyone has actually used in over a decade) had a light and made a noticeable buzzing noise right next to my head. The area around it is also just not very pleasant and the public transportation lacking. If I was visiting Hakodate again I would pay a little extra to stay in the old town area.

Reviewed Aug 5, 2026Overall a great stay. Location is close to the main train station. Room was comfortable. Not super tiny like some Japanese hotels. Amenities and toiletries provided. Fridge in room. Good air conditioning. Friendly staff at check in and out. Clean. And while I didn’t get it, they do have a buffet available from 7-9a.
Location is good for the main train station, but a bit out of the way from everything else. Building and rooms look slightly dated, but everything was still clean and in working order.

The whole hotel is full of tobacco smell even though it's non-smoking. It feels like a very old business hotel that hasn't been renovated for some time. They even give you an oil vaporizer to mask the smell. Also, quite a bit further from the station than we thought.
