El hotel es correcto, tiene check in tardío y te guardan las mochilas el día de la salida, lo cual es de gran ayuda. Además, está bien ubicado.

No había agua corriente en el hotel. Al parecer, era un problema de todo el barrio, ya que llevaban varios días sin agua. Lo que no nos pareció aceptable fue que al hacer el check in no nos lo dijeran, ni que al menos dejaran una botella de agua de cortesía. Revisando los comentarios, veo que es un problema que se ha repetido varias veces en los últimos años y los huéspedes deberían ser avisados por el personal del hotel, si no de manera previa, al menos al llegar. Tuvimos que salir a comprar garrafas de agua para poder ducharnos y usar cualquier parte del baño, con su correspondiente dificultad para mantener la higiene del espacio y la personal. Fue un detalle muy feo por parte del hotel. Tampoco funcionaba el aire acondicionado, y en invierno es necesario calentar la habitación ya que hace frío en Johannesburgo.

I saw a previous rating about room 10 needing renovations. I was quite disappointed that they haven’t attended to that review because the room does need serious renovations.

I had an excellent stay at Saffron Guest House for a week while on a business trip. The guest house was clean, comfortable, and provided a peaceful environment to relax after long working days. What truly made my stay exceptional was the outstanding hospitality from the housekeeping team, especially Olipha and Thando. They were always available to assist whenever I needed anything and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and at home. Their friendliness, professionalism, and attention to detail made my stay truly enjoyable. I would also like to commend the manager Emely for her excellent customer service. She was quick to address a challenge I experienced and ensured that it was resolved promptly and professionally. Her responsiveness and commitment to guest satisfaction gave me great confidence in the level of service at the guest house. The location is another major advantage, as it is very close to my business area, making my daily commute convenient and stress-free. I highly recommend Saffron Guest House to anyone travelling for business or leisure. I will definitely be staying here again on my future visits.

Honestly, there was nothing significant to dislike. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and any concerns I had were addressed promptly.

Location was excellent... close to the buzz of Melville... but far enough to have peace if needed.

Parking was a bit of a problem for early departure on Sunday morning. Nothing serious though.

Rooms were quite spacious with a small fridge & a prep bowl to rinse utensils. The beds are very comfortable & clean.

My room was cozy since I had arrived when it was very cold, I enjoyed a warm bath, got to watch TV, and had no issues with the wifi. The staff were so kind to me.

The air conditioner was difficult to operate. I couldn't get it to get warm.

The guesthouse is situated close to restaurants and bars. It was very noisy, especially on a Friday night. And it didn't feel very safe.

The warm welcome at check in. Peter is amazing and goes an extra mile to make a guest feel comfortable and safe. He assisted even when he was off duty , always available. I got way more than what I expected. At check out the ladies on duty assisted me with luggage and even helped me dress up for the wedding that I was heading to. It was such a great experience ❤️

Our toilet wasn't flushing, we had to walk across the street to ask for help at night We wanted to bath the following day we awaited for bath towels until 2pm! Worse place to stay! Old debilitating walls, mould, smelly cupboards, kitchen sink flooding! Please improve and stop taking advantage of people needing proper accommodation!

A wonderful stay with exceptional hosts and exceptional staff! The place is clean and well maintained, the breakfast leaves you begging for seconds and the view from the balcony is stunning. The hosts are very welcoming and kind and will promptly adhere to any request you may have to the best of their ability. 10/10 would recommend!

I guess the bed was fine

The water was terribly cold! We couldn’t shower properly in the morning. There were cars spinning and making loud noises during the night

The day staff were very kind and helpful however that is where the pleasantries started and ended

The night staff Peter who was meant to assist us with our late check-in, was less then professional, he not only refused to assist me with locating a simple remote he also raised his voice at me and made myself and the other guest feel very uncomfortable and not at ease, to make it worse when I attempted to let him know that his behavior was unprofessional he (Peter) proceeded to tell me that he has worked there for years and no complaint will affect him...to say I was highly disappointed would be an understatement

The location was perfect. Close to shopping malls and the Joburg Zoo. It was very clean and we enjoyed the electric blankets. We didn’t get to try the breakfast.

We struggled with the TV in room 3 working and the TV in room 2 didn’t work.

The air conditioning was not working.The water was cold.

Breakfast was delicious .The staff made sure we had a gas heater nearby to keep us warm during our breakfast which was appreciated.The rooms were clean and spacious.

I stayed at room 7 near the gate where everyone passes and I wish there was some lace curtains or blinds so that I get some sunlight and privacy when I opened those brown curtains.. the aircon was also not keeping the room warm, it switched on but not doing the job..

Everything was perfect for my liking

The location was perfect for us - close to Milpark Hospital. The staff was amazingly friendly and tried helping wherever they could. The beds were very comfortable.

The internet services in room sucked (for lack of better word). The TV never worked from day one. And the path to our room, being an elderly couple, was too uneven for us to walk safely. The rooms need urgently to be repainted

It was close to the hospital

I liked the area close to the main street in Melville. Close to restaurants and clubs. It was quite and peaceful. I like the access to Netflix and other apps. The room was clean and had all the amenities listed.

I have stayed at Saffron Guest House before and liked it alot and the rooms were lovely. I was a bit dissapointed. Room 10 was a bit outdated the ceiling had mould and cracks there were a few broken titles in the mini kitchen area. The room was smaller even though in the description it said I booked a superior double room.
