My friend miss Gloriana is a wonderful person and a very kind lady I love her and staying at her hotel is my favourite place to go when I spend months there very nice people great food and staff are very friendly and I love them very much thank you My name is Mr Ken she gave me that name. Oxox miss G
unprofessional staff,stinky,mosquitoes
Perfect location, friendly staff and prices were great!!
Cleaning the pool and having enough staffing would give the place a plus. everything in the shower was falling aprt lots of mosquitos coming from bathroom
House keeping average
The room was beautiful will stay there again. The food from the restaurant was awesome. The staff was very accommodating and made the stay pleasant.
Was not a bad experience. People were down-to-earth. The securities were helpful and staffs were great. The Owner needs to approachable though.
Great layover place to stay. I missed me flight and it was very convenience 5 minutes from the airport.
Love the room and pool
My stay was very disappointed for the price. The room was filled with mosquitoes, the furniture were old, and the room did not smell fresh.
THE WORST!!!! The owner is soooo RUDE and unreasonable! The FF&E is outdated. I stayed for one day and I had issues with my room. I was told to leave the property once I expressed I was dissatisfied with the hotel equipment in the room they assigned! It’s convenient, but the service isn’t worth the stay!
It was a quick room, when i was medically evaced off our cruise, super dirty, and not much safety wise to speak of , glad we were only there for 5 hours
I like that I was able to book the property easy and fast
No tv sevice
The security scams people and the drivers change cars and threaten my life I am so angry happy to get out alive it was a nightmare
Close to the hip strip is its only upsell. I stop here on my last night in Montego Bay due to the convenience of being close to the airport
Property is not maintained and linens are old and worn! Have to wear shoes in rooms flora are so dirty. Menu consists of two maybe three items. Owner is a fantastic lady kitchen staff security and front desk staff are great. Beautiful spot just not maintained. This place should be a hotspot for tourists it is so close to Montego Bays Hip Strip, Drs Cave beach, margaritaville and Coral Cliff gaming lounge and restaurant along with many other attractions.
This hotel location is perfect, the hotel itself needs to be updated and clean. The bathroom door doesn’t have a handle and it smells like urine, plus 80% of the employees are rude, the food was okay but not great. If you only need somewhere to sleep this would be perfect but not to stay.
The owner was Jen, the staff was & is awesome the property kneed a face lift all around , from inside the rooms to outside the property, but we tolerate it all into a good thing.
Older building the wonderful cleaning staff did what they could However toilet handle had to giggle so water wouldn't run on. Middle piece in shower to switch from tub to shower was stuck on shower side. I called at 9am one day and asked for room service When i returned to my room at 2pm nothing was done, saw a cleaning staff who came right away. Who informed me there is only 1 key for my room so i should have left it at reception. Who would know to do that.?? All in all like the staff, however building definitely needs some updates
Management customer service is poor
Close to the airport
I really enjoyed the pool. Its design and size was perfect for laps to floating and lots of space. Great speakers for music pool side, also! Food was fantastic and it was a great place to stay.
The property was below a hole in the wall. The patio door was not able to be closed and locked. Poor water pressure. Toilet didn't work properly. Noisy as heck. Couldn't sleep at all. Employees, behind the desk, weren't polite at all. Totally bad experience
Do not go
This place is rundown there are bars on the window there are leaks in the ceiling If you want to feel like you are in prison this is the place to be Would never stay here again
Rooms need some cleaning.. doors are a bit ancient... each room needs a safe in it to lock a way valuables.... Overall staff are very nice and work very hard...
Okay
Just old and dirty
Great hotel. I have stayed there many times over the years. Walking distance to the hip strip, to Doctors Cave beach and very close to the airport. less than 10 minutes drive
There is nothing positive about this hotel. No manners or friendly service. Not even clean sheets in the bed! Old garbage and the bed was like a hammock. Didn't eat or drink couse it was to dirty there. The pool was so dirty so u couldn't see the bottom!
Needs a full new restoration & i deserve a full refund i didn’t sleep well i put the dresser behind the door that’s the type of vibes this hotel gave me.
This is not a hotel 1, you pay for what you get . The room I got was very dirty . When I went to go in the bathroom there was someone hair in bathroom . At one point the bathroom was not working . The environment is not clean and wants dust . As I say you pay for what you get !! the furnitures is old . The tv has no remote and the just put tv on some thing . Listen it’s terrible !!
Had a one night stay due to a flight delay. It was close to the airport and cost 15usd to get there from the airport for me and my hubby. It is convenient and suitable for the night we stayed.
This hotel came in hand as we missed our flight and needed somewhere to stay for the evening. There is a pool and a cook on staff. This is not your all inclusive resort hotel. This is more for people who live locally and just need somewhere to stay while in town.
The property was ok. It's very old but I guess they're trying to jave a vintage look. Tjere was no warm water in my room, so I'm not sure abt the rest of the hotel
Very noisy, walls are very thin, staff is unfriendly and indifferent, roaches in the bathtub, dusty and dirty. I had to take a night there due to a flight cancellation, it was the only available hotel. I would have rather stayed at the airport.
The truth is the place is old room not clean there was a order coming from my room the bathroom a stink one by experience overall was poor. I will never introduce nobody to that place. I’m sorry, but is the truth.
My stay was excellent, room was clean , i had hot water , air conditioniner , staff was polite .
This place is run down and dingy. The entire place needs remodeling, renovation, and updated everything. The towels were disgusting and the chair had a big stain in it. I could go on and on but it was very cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. Never the less it's super close to the airport so a little investment in this place could help it generate much more...
The electric outlet was loose/ no tv remote, the pool needs cleaning,,,this was was of my Best hotel in Montego Bay but it is loose its Beauty it’s horrible now
Horrific! Do not go to Hotel Glorina. I wish i can rate this hotel less than Zero. We missed our flight and the air Canada rep called Hotel Gloriana to try to get us a room. The outside looked really bad but my friends and I decided to give it a try. They showed us a room in the lobby and said all the rooms are the same. I was skeptical, but my friends convinced me that we were only staying for 5 hours. The bellman took our suitcases to our room and left. I an still think , this was a horror movie. The towels are old and dirty, the blankets are so worned out and dirty. The faucet didn't work. They have not replaced anything in the rooms since the seventies. The rooms have roaches and mice. I stayed up with my feet on the suitcase because I refused to open my luggage. Could not shower because the roaches were plentiful. I'm scared for life. The owner is rude and doesn't care. Please be aware of this Horrific Hotel.
Room was clean but in need of serious renovation.
My self respect dropped a few notches after staying at this hotel. This place is garbage! There were a large number of issues. I only gave it one star because there was no option to give it zero stars. Firstly, when we arrived, the hotel told us that Expedia had not sent over our reservation that we made three days prior. They sent us away bag and baggage into Montego Bay with nowhere to go. I reached out to Expedia, who reached out to the hotel to confirm our reservation and we returned and checked in. we checked in because we had nowhere else to go. The following are just some of the issues that we have with the hotel. Electrical outlets didn’t work, wiring was sketchy, the toilet didn’t flush, the TV had no reception, there was no laundry service as indicated in the hotel services online. We asked and we told that there was no laundry service that day because they dry the clothes and it was raining. The bathroom door didn’t lock and it fell open when you tried to close it zero privacy for taking a shower or using the toilet . there was a gaping hole in the balcony door where the handle used to be. Air conditioner was either on or off (so you were either freezing or roasting). The ceiling fan didn’t work. There were no light fixtures, just bulbs sticking out of the wall. There is no smoke detector it was pulled out of the ceiling and you can see the wires (see picture) There were multiple light switches. We had no idea what they were for because they didn’t seem to do anything. There was an ironing board, but no iron. Housekeeping came and handed my husband a random brown tray and said it belong to the room. She laid it on the fridge, and we realized later that the reason that it was there is because there was a leak around the bulb in the ceiling and it was dripping down into the fridge where by the way, we are unknowingly charging our phones. In summary, I do not recommend this place I recommend that you stay as far away from possible. I don’t know who are these 10 out of 10 ratings on other sites and I’m pretty sure that it must be staff or the owners..
I arrived at the property and was told that our reservation was not sent to the property by Expedia and was told to leave the property for two hours until they straighten things out. TV did not work. The toilet did not flush. There was a gap in the balcony door, where the handle was torn out. The bathroom door did not close.. there was no hot water in the bathroom sink. Etc. etc..
The common areas are dark and dingy. The door on the room has a simple lock with no dead bolt or chain, while the Small TV is in cased in rebarb. So they have extreme security for their TV, but nothing for your belongs. It’s unbearably noisy. Street noise out of the sliding door and lounge music blaring from the courtyard. They did not receive my reservations from Orbitz and told me that they dont use Orbits for booking even though I showed them the email. So I was exhausted and tired, so they told me to cancel the two day reservation that I had and pay for a single night. So far no refund. They told me they couldnt do it and to talk to Orbitz. So far. no refund. Besides no safe in the room, I rented a safety deposit box for $5, but it was 3 inches wide, too small to hold my Ipad and other valuables. The lobby shuts down at 10:30, so there is no drinkable water in the room or lobby at that time. Not the best.
I was so disappointed , the room was not properly clean, there was a couple that stayed in the room before me, their slippers were still there, seems like they were on their moon. There was hair in the bathroom sink. Just disgusting, room need a lot of work . Window curtains need to wash. May I truly believe that they should inspect the room before putting anyone in there. experience was not good.
I expected clean usable towels. The towels are thread bare. The sheets were dingy. I used one use sheets to cover the bed. They really need to invest in new linen and towels.
No hot water.
Hotel Gloriana is a friendly hotel. Ms Gloriana and her staff were very friendly.
The service was on point. Friendly staff and willing to help. Property is clean. I have nothing bad to say about this Hotel. I have been coming to Mobay for 7yrs and have stayed in many hotels. So far this is my favorite and i look forward to staying there on my next trip.
The room I was staying in.. 1201 the A/C was leaking and wet the entire bed even my suitcase and clothes
1st room the bathroom light/ refrigerater wasn't working and they changed it immediately
I always stay at this hotel when in Jamaica was beautiful at first ,but now the place is in need of a face lift .the electric outlet in the room was loose and so many other things ##need a lot of maintenance
Terrible customer service, staff simply don’t care and don’t even attempt to be pleasant or helpful. Room was very very tired looking. Linen and towels are threadbare. You must pay for breakfast as you go. You cannot add it to your room bill.
This hotel needs some TLC, make it more comfortable. Looks nothing like the pictures, gives MOTEL. I stayed out and partied just so I wasn’t there for long 😂 wasn’t comfortable at all.
I reserved a room with one king size bed and settled with what they had remaining. Upon arrival, it took 1 hour to check in because they overbooked the rooms. The airport that day cancelled all their flights, mine included. so all the travelers scrambled to get a room because the airport didn’t allow overnight stay. Many others were turned away that came after us. As we entered the room, housekeeping was leaving from just barely readying the room before we arrived. Thinking back on it, they reception desk delayed our checkin because the room was ready. Keep in mind this was 5:30 in the evening, beyond checkin time. The room has no windows or a peep in the door, the tv was not functional, toilet seat loose, bathroom facet flew off when water turned on, no ventilation in bathroom, sheets were damp.
Had a flight delayed overnight so needed emergency lodging. Hotel was recommended by airport staff. Expedia entry for hotel indicated they had a free shuttle from airport. I called to make arrangements. They asked how I made my reservation. When I said Expedia they said they needed to call me back. After a hour there was no call back. My wife called and was told we would get a call back. After 30 minutes with no call back my wife called and got the same "we will call you." I was clearly concerned, but we walked to the hotel, anyway, as it was close on level ground. We forgot that the walkways would be difficult and there would be lots of mosquitos. On our arrival at the hotel, the desk personnel said they were overbooked and were not accepting any web reservations and we, along with many others, were told to leave. We looked for other lodging, found none and settled into the airport for the night. I requested a refund and Expedia called the hotel. Hotel said they had my room and were waiting for me! My personal impression was that with the cancelled flights that the hotel wanted to skip out on the Expedia fees and only do direct bookings, leaving one room available for complaints. Nothing Expedia did or said gave me that impression, it is strictly mine. Expedia was very prompt and professional in handling the situation. I was told I would receive a full refund, but the refunded amount was short $15, which I am ignoring as part of my education.
Close proximity to events. No hot water.
Absolutely terrible. They gave away my room when thought I made reserved it weeks in advance. The staff was so rude as well
The towels and bed sheets are very old and the pillows are lumpy. Otherwise it was a place to sleep with good vibes and music. Meet a few nice people. Front desk was very abrupt but the restaurant staff was very pleasant.
Horrible service - do not book this hotel. We arrived at the property and our reservation was cancelled without notice. Expedia did an excellent job with finding another hotel.
was fine
I loved that it was close to everything! Very nice and professional. Clean and very comfortable. I been to Jamaica over 30 times in the last 13 years . This hotel by far is my favorite and highly recommended
The Room was Dated towels needed to be thrown away the Main light fittings was literally hanging off the Bed . Would never ever go back there even if i was Desperate
The pictures used on these booking websites are OLD....it looks NOTHING like this. The staff is rude and unprofessional. The rooms are scary AND dirty. Note there are no microwaves, irons, ironing board or hair dryers. The linen is old. The owners have reinvested NO money into maintenance and upgrades. Furniture 8s old...everything is old and decrepit The fist room we had, there was a leak coming from a light fixture in the bathroom. Called the front desk and no one came to check. We had to go and get help the next day.
Very well situated to airport. However don’t let the shuttle service as advertised fool you! Shuttle service is a taxi that you cover the fee. Rooms very tired and need update. Linens very itchy and lowest quality. Road outside hotel very noisy, expect limited rest. Walking distance to a few restaurants.
The owner of hotel Gloriana and Spa hotel in Montego bay is very rude and disrespectful. I called and reserved a room near to the garden that I was in previously . When I got there after a long trip the room was given to someone else. The person at the front office stated that there was someone else in the room. I asked to speak to the owner because I specifically requested that room again because that room had plants around it and did not flare up my asthma and allergies. I spoke with Gloria who was very reluctant to speak to me. She was aggressive, uncaring and rude over the phone. She asked me harshly what I wanted her to do. She said there was a man in the room already and that is it. She was loud and asked me sarcastically over what I wanted her to do. I thought she was very unprofessional. I wonder why in the first place she took my reservation. I was traveling from far. I was very tired, and hungry only to be told my reservation was given to another person. Also, the room I stayed in on my first occasion had no hot water. It was just warm. My TV was defective for three days but I still stayed there because of my asthma. It was near the garden and not smoky and that is why I made reservation again for it. I was very disappointed!!!
Needs updating
Cleanliness of the room could have been better eg: carpet wasnt properly vacuum. Split liquid on dress drawers. Used soap in bathroom. Towels had stains on then.
Extremely rude and unprofessional staff especially the owner/manger. She was so rude and discriminated my appearance especially my hair. She had no manners whatsoever and don’t know how to speak and treat people. Do not recommend at all!!
I missed my flight back to the uk . Therefore i went to this hotel as last minute for 2nights . Noisy bed , toilet wasnt working properly , the bath paint all chipped. So on my second night i fell asleep at around 2am and woke up 8ish as had an uneasy rest only to find out that someone sneaked into my room and stole my phonee whlst i was asleep. I told d security he didnt want to do nothing about it, the manager even worst she declined to check the cameras saying it was imposible for someone to steal. Other guests were complaining that someone tried to break into their rooms . I called the police and they didnt do much as the manager kept lying and lying and had to leave the place and go go to the airport because i had my flight on the day that it was stolen. Everythng just sounded like an inside job. The amount of distress i experienced imagine i could have been raped or murdered yet the hotel chose to do nothing . Could not contact my family nor friends. I just hope this hotel gets closed down because human safety should be prioritized.
Location
I av been visiting Florian's for 12 years now and each time I went back there it felt like it's ma first time. The rooms and bathroom is well clean. The food is excellent. The service u get there is one in a million. My daughter was conceived there in 2007 and my twins was also conceived there in 2016. When me and my fiancee want a break that's where we go. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else😘😘😘
this place will try and rip you off. I booked a room here for the night for my friend. My partner and I checked into the room and made sure the room was good then we left. My friend who drove all the way from kingston was not allowed to stay there when he arrived. He drove over 2 hours to get there and was turned away! they said that since I had another friend with me when I checked in that I would have to pay rooms costs again. I sat there arguing with security. I paid for the room for the night and was not even staying there! It was for my friend and the security would not listen. it made absolutely no sense. they just want your money. scammers!
This is a great place to stay. Full of life and vibrance. I always enjoy my self whenever I visit when I am in Jamaica. Friendly staff and great breakfast. Close to the airport and close to the strip.
After a lovely trip from negril. My sweet heart and I decided to get a room for a night at this hotel. The price was abit high for the suit but we tired it. Oh lord.i believe the suit we got havent been used in a while very dusty. The sheets on the bed very very itch. Even saw couple roaches. I believe if your going to stay here dont do suits.any other room that the staff cleans on a regular. N look out for roaches.
Recently spent a night here before transferring to Negril. Hotel is close to the airport which is nice. Had reserved a garden view triple room but ended up with room 2101 overlooking the busy road in front of hotel. Slider glass door is old single pane glass so you hear all the traffic well into the night. The rooms are spartan and nothing fancy, which I expected to a degree. However the 2 table lamps were not plugged in and they are just for show because they had no light bulbs. Bathroom had cobwebs above the shower head and our unpleasant surprise in the morning was a cold shower as there was very little hot water pressure. The hotel has a nice looking pool but since it rained we were not able to enjoy. We let the front desk lady know of our problems we incurred and she said they would try and do better. I honestly don’t think we will stay here again but go somewhere else and upgrade our experience
So I went to the Gloriana had breakfast first of all the lady in braids is very disrespectful and has no manners!! Even her staff are afraid of her!! I was on my laptop having ackee and salt fish at the bar I asked for the music to be turned down. She ignored. THEN THEY STARTED SPRAYING INSECT SPRAY IN THE KITCHEN AND I WAS THERE EATING!!! Disgusting I would never book here. Food sucks!! Hospitality even worse!! They lucky I can’t give them no star HORRIBLE!!!
We checked into Hotel Gloriana for one night. We had made the booking quite late and didn't have many choices for accommodation. It's a budget hotel, but the location is great, being within walking distance of the premier tourist area, the "Hip Strip" and 1km from the airport. When my friend and I walked into the reception area to check us all in, we burst out laughing. Kitsch beyond! The decor had clearly not been changed since forever, complete with the 1970's plastic flowers in a vase. The floor tiles were mismatched and clashing horribly as you can see in the photos. I took pics of the pool area and the lights made it look reasonably good. We laughed as we watched others check in. The expressions on their faces! Hilarious! Well, I stopped laughing the minute I walked into the room with the porter. For a few seconds I was happy at the big, clean room, until I noticed the monster watching me from the dressing table. Yep! A giant cockroach. Ok...maybe not a giant, but it might as well have been one! I ran out of the room, screaming at the porter that I'm not sharing a room with an animal. He tried to find it, since at this point it had obviously escaped. He then calmly tells me that it will be fine, since it's gone. So I tell him to find me another room, since I obviously know the creature will be sharing the room and that I will never be able to sleep. The owner comes upon this drama and tells them to find another room, which they did. You must be wondering why we were not running for the hills at this point, but I had read the story about the owner, a Black woman who had made it from being a vendor to the owner of one of the biggest hotels owned by a Jamaican. I had wanted to support her and not one of the big hotel chains on the island. She has written a book about her journey, to motivate others to succeed - From Glory to Gloriana. Her website describes it as "the experiences of a Jamaican girl, born and reared in poverty, who encountered numerous pitfalls and dissapointments, but pressed on despite obstacles and hurdles, in fulfilling her dream. Her story will inspire and motivate the reader, showing very clearly that all things are possible. Her persistence and ingenuinity are incomparable, yet they speak to us that innately, we were born to succeed. Although autobiographical, the content is richly steeped in Jamaica's cultural heritage, exposing a way of life that was passed down from generation to generation. This book will stir your imagination, and open your understanding to the truth, that our challenges are nothing, but stepping stones to our desired good." So, I decided that this is a woman I wanted to support and that a creature who can withstand a nuclear bomb will not deter me!
Be careful..everything is priced in US dollars not the local currency. The hotel requires a revamp, all out of date. The online images will fool you, when you are inside the rooms, it is very poor. no hot water, mosquito's were rampant, smelly room. House service does not know how to clean. No do not disturb signs, therefore house service will disturb you with the constant knocking.....I will return when the hotel is up dated, if not, they will not get my money again.
I had a very nice air conditioned room, I enjoyed room service breakfasts and my time at the pool. The hotel was clean and comfortable. My room was right by the pool and I loved the view, I had a small seating area outside my window for morning coffee.
