Toby's Resort

Very clean. Staff very polite and pleasant. Our room was on the first floor, with a pool view and a balcony. We really enjoyed it. The shower was great, and the parking lot also. The location is awesome if you are there in high season. Off season is a little empty and feels uncomfortable to walk around. But it served our purpose very nicely. The restaurant was a lovely surprise!!! So good, the price so fair!

Some information from the front desk would be nice, such as places to go ou to dine in.

If ur do in business or pleasure in Montego Bay it is hard to beat the location. They have slowly been doin upgrades that really enhance the rooms. Deluxe rooms really only give you a fridge and coffee in room and a bigger balcony. But the standard room is fine without those amenities.

As all rooms aren't fully upgraded yet, it's a bit of a crap shoot as to what you get, unless you specifically ask. Rooms near the central staircase are a noise nightmare... Some extra money needs to spend on those to sound proof.

My housekeeper warm personality, the rep i spoke to onthe phone, met on my 2nd to last dayand on departure.

I came in extremely late as my flight was late and I was coming from Kingston... when I got to the front I didnt received friendly greeting, security brought my bags up (thankfully) but he was able to properly orient me ab I utilize the room, how the equipment in the room work, iron etc.. i wanted tea and he told me whatever I dont understand I should call the front desk. (Which i didnt) i ended up calling the front desk for the WIFI as the codes that were given weren't working, the lady at the front wasn't able to assist and IT was out and I would have to wait till the morning as this point of more Mr nice guy because I need to reach my family. Then only then she suggested another Wi-Fi, which worked. I hated the location of the room as I was woken up by noise the morning as the back of the room was garage, the room, pool,building was outdated. I work at hotel and to be honest the service I got I couldn't give it to anyone my guest, my over telephone encounter was really good, put my mind as ease but when I got there I was truly disappointed to see that it wasn't the same person. I met her the follow day and upon check out and she was really nice. I can tell the employees means well just needs some training, I understand updating a Resort takes money and proper planning but fix at least the fixtures in the room. The bed side lamp never worked, they weren't plug in. My housekeeper was really nice, very personable, however I got some brown towels ( supposedly waswhite) I never had soap to shower had to use the one I came with.

The food in the restaurant was awesome! Clean room with a small balcony to sit out and enjoy plus a couple pools and hot tub.

Toby's is a home away from home, and has a lovely family feel to it. All staff are amazing and go above and beyond to ensure you have a great time. Especially Mikey at the pool bar.

this hotel multiple chances to redeem itself, but unfortunately the biggest issue is the complete lack of hospitality. There was one woman at the front desk who was genuinely nice throughout my stay, and I wish I had gotten her name so I could give her proper credit. Unfortunately, my experience with Kadeen was the complete opposite. I had an argument with her before check-in, and afterward she continued to be extremely rude and unfriendly. There was no greeting, no basic communication, and at checkout she simply stared at me, motioned with her fingers for me to come over, then held out her hand for the keys without saying a word. The same attitude carried over into the restaurant. The first day I went to get lunch, the host/server was lying on a couch. He got up, looked at me, and said absolutely nothing. No hello, no “how can I help you,” nothing. I walked into the restaurant because I had no idea what I was supposed to do, and he just followed behind me staring. I later realized he was actually the host and server. The next morning at breakfast was almost identical. I walked in and the woman working there just stared at me without saying anything. I walked directly up to her and we literally stood there looking at each other because she still would not greet me or ask what I needed. Eventually, I just walked out. Then it happened a third time. My girlfriend went into the restaurant separately, and the same male employee did essentially the exact same thing to her—just stared at her without greeting her or explaining anything. So it wasn’t just my perception; she experienced the same behavior independently and confirmed exactly what I had been saying. That basically sums up the entire experience. The staff, with the exception of one very nice woman, came across as extremely unfriendly and completely lacking in basic hospitality.

Very outdated, no towels on arrival. The room has a very dirty atmosphere. Due to the flooring and furniture is very old.

Great location and close to the airport so if there is traffic it does not take you long to get there either way. Office staff was nice, pool was nice, bar was nice. Room was big and a/c/ and wifi worked well. A quick walk to sunset beach that is tiny but free and you can snorkel there and see a lot and the planes come in and the sunset. At the start of the hip strip so off the beaten path and quite.

Room was a little dated and there was a lot of water that leaked from the shower and a lot of ants around the perimeter of the shower maybe coming in from the shower window but they stuck by the shower and did not get into any of my stuff so it was fine. Bed was ok and pillows had to find a god 1 out of the 4.

Great location. Walking distance from several beaches, restaurants, Hip Strip, shops. Very easy to get there from the airport. The room was quiet, secure, and had everything I needed. I had breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant, and both were good. I would eat there again. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and made me feel comfortable there.

The wifi was a little bit spotty. It can be a bit noisy due to traffic.

Nós adoramos o resort. Todo o staff muito comunicativo e prestativo. Super perto de tudo, e foi-nos possivel caminhar até à nossa praia preferida.

Reservamos 3 quartos com base nas fotos que estão na app. Dois dos quartos não eram iguais aos das fotos. Pelo que seria melhor se as fotos fossem mesmo dos qiartos em questao, ou semelhantes.

The property felt like a home away from home, the rooms were very comfortable with air conditioning. Loved the pool on property and the fact that the property was walking distance from the hip-strip.

We were pleasantly surprised how comfortable and modern Toby’s Resort was. We only spent a night as we got in on a super late flight but if given the opportunity we would have stayed longer. The property is a 5 minute drive from Sangster Airport. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was an addition but absolutely delicious.

The gym could use some attention

The room was clean and the receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful really late at night.

The air conditioning was extremely loud, with a constant ticking/grating noise, and the nearby highway and clubs made the overall noise unbearable. Worse, the promised airport transfer never arrived, leaving us stranded for over an hour. We had to withdraw cash and arrange a random taxi at 11 PM, which was extremely stressful and frightening. While the property apologised and offered complimentary breakfast, it’s simply unacceptable to leave guests stranded at night after promising transportation.

Everything was beyond what we expected, room was clean and comfortable even though the furniture is not what you would see in rooms at a resort and the restaurant food was excellent, overall, we are inspired to try them again in the future.

Parking can be a challenge at times, and the pool party can be bit loud after midnight. Property is not equipped for people with mobility issues.

It was in a great location, close to the airport and also shopping and restaurants within walking distance. The food inside and outside of the hotel was delicious. The staff were very welcoming and hospitable. The room was exactly what we paid for. Would definitely book again.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel’s location was very convenient. My experience with the staff varied depending on who I spoke to, but the woman who checked me in was especially friendly, welcoming, and made a great first impression.

The room was spacious and the location was convenient, but unfortunately my overall experience was very disappointing. The biggest issue was with the luggage concierge. As soon as he brought my bags to the room, he immediately asked, “So what have you got for me?” After I gave him a tip, he replied, “Is that all?” When I said I could simply take the tip back, he told me it wasn’t enough because one of my suitcases was heavy and insisted I should give him more. He then asked what I was planning to do that day and suggested I visit a nearby street because there were ATMs there, telling me to withdraw cash so I could give him a larger tip the next day. I was so taken aback that I didn’t know how to respond. Later that day, while I was trying to rest, the same employee returned with a technician who spent around 15 minutes doing virtually nothing in my room. I eventually asked them to leave, and as they were leaving, they asked for another tip. Later, when I saw the luggage concierge again, he reminded me, “Don’t forget about my tip.” To make matters worse, the woman who handled my check-out was rude, dismissive, and seemed completely uninterested in helping. Unfortunately, these repeated interactions with the staff overshadowed the positives of the hotel. Based on my experience, I would not recommend staying here.

Gute Lage, in der Nähe vom Flughafen, nahe Doctor‘s Cave Beach, kleine Shops in der Nähe, nettes Außengelände mit zwei Pools (haben wir nicht genutzt), es war sauber, für 1-2 Nächte zum Zwischenstopp ok

Das Personal war unfreundlich und man fühlte sich wenig willkommen, bis auf den Herren, der uns mit den Koffern geholfen hat. Das hat unseren ersten Tag auf Jamaica wirklich etwas getrübt. Insgesamt wirkte alles wenig einladend. Die Klimaanlage tropfte und trotz der Bemühungen des Herren funktionierte der TV nicht, WLAN auch eher dürftig. Die Balkontür schloss nicht richtig und einmal war sie auf als wir zurück kamen und wir hatten Insekten im Zimmer. Es war extrem hellhörig. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist hier überhaupt nicht gegeben. Ich würde wenn ein Deluxe Zimmer buchen oder eine andere Unterkunft wählen.

I honestly liked everything about my stay here! The staff were lovely. Thanks to Tionne for helping us resolve our concern and arrange our shuttle, and the lovely restaurant staff! Jeffery (the doorman/luggage and check-in support man) was just absolutely lovely! Such a kind and welcoming face and conversation each time we saw him. The shuttle driver gave us such a warm departure gratitude send off. Beautiful and convenient location. The pool that we accessed was lovely, but it’s also great that they have two.

The staff was not very accommodating. Our door key didn’t work. We waited one hour to get help. The lights kept flickering out due to the rain. It was very loud. The food was not great.

La ubicación es espectacular, llegué porque quería un hotel de salida de Montego… queda a 2 minutos del aeropuerto, así que un taxi puede salir 15 dólares, está cerca de la Playa más espectacular que es doctors cave, a la cual puedes ir caminando, en 5 minutos. Hay muchas tiendas de souvenir cerca. Las recepcionistas muy amables. Buen restaurante con buenos precios y tiene piscinas y un bar.

Salida a las 11, se me hace demasiado temprano, lo más común es a las 12.

La ubicación

Tenían un problema con el datáfono y nos dejaron más de dos horas esperando porque no podíamos pagar con la tarjeta, nos tocó ir a ver quién nos ayudaba retirando dinero para pagar. Casi reservamos en otro alojamiento, lo ideal es que lleven efectivo pero en billetes con códigos nuevos ya que si son códigos viejos tampoco los reciben.

Location of the resort was perfect, close enough to all the entertainment spot. Great customer from the front desk and restaurant staff. Only down side was that, the room that I got didn’t have any refrigerator and the beds was a bit small but apart from that the stay was pretty good.

Lady bring towels knocked then opened and walked in before we could even answer door. No apology, nothing to indicate she was aware she had intruded. Room 22 had old bath tub, and needs better sound insulation for door as it right by the stairs.

The grounds are open and spacious, well laid out. Warm and welcoming reception area. Friendly and helpful staff, got to give Jeffrey a special mention! Nice restaurant on site with delicious food and plenty of vegetarian/vegan options. The location is great, within walking distance to Doctor’s Cave beach (5 mins) and lots of other local amenities. Would recommend this place.

Die Anlage an sich ist schön und sehr zentral gelegen. Ausreichend Parkplätze vorhanden. Essen im Restaurant lecker und relativ günstig, guter Service.

Unser Zimmer ging zur Straße (lieber Verkehr als überlaute Musik am Pool). Abrissbaustelle vor dem Fenster, wo bis nachts halb 3 gearbeitet wurde.

The room was clean and met my expectation. The staff was friendly and the location was excellent. It is in very close proximity to all the hot spots in Montego Bay and the beaches.

La posizione è perfetta per passare un paio di giorni a Montego! Le camere sono ok, pulite , con balcone , e tutto ciò che serve per un gradevole soggiorno. Unica pecca, dopo le 22 il bar è chiuso e non esiste poter avere dell’acqua da bere, nemmeno in reception. Perciò bisogna uscire , camminare 5 minuti e cercare un market; perciò ecco meglio organizzarsi prima. Buono anche il ristorante e la colazione a la carte. Il barman è simpatico e fa degli ottimi cocktail. Inoltre se avete bisogno di un taxi per lunghi spostamenti chiedete di Paul alla reception.

The resort is clean and in a great location. The staff are extremely kind and hospitable. They go above and beyond. I went with my kids and felt very safe and secure being there. Poolside bar and restaurant were super convenient and it's very affordable. Highly recommend. I will definitely be back (hopefully without kids lol) and will be my go to whenever I'm in Montego Bay.
