Lovely property, set in a peaceful garden away from the noise of the main Lakeside road

Eine unfassbare tolle Unterkunft. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und liebevoll und man fühlt sich direkt wohl und gut aufgehoben. Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt immer wieder verlängert, was auch an der Unterkunft lag, es ist mir sehr schwer gefallen zu gehen und ich bin sehr Dankbar diesen wundervollen Ort gefunden zu haben. Auch die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und zum wohlfühlen. Der Garten lädt zum verweilen und zum entspannen ein. Vielen lieben Dank für alles!

I had the best stay here, the room was simple yet super comfortable and spacious, the garden is beautiful, there’s a couple lounging areas to sit down around the garden and on the building I stayed. Looks just like the pictures with nice shade around and good fans in the room. The house is on a calmer quiet area of lakeside but still walking distance from restaurant and shops, to go further into the busiest area of lakeside you can always get an inDrive moto taxi super cheap fast and comfortable be there in 5min, and still get to rest in a less crowded area. The family who runs the place are incredibly nice, very helpful and always available for anything you may need, they helped me with my laundry and I believe they also have trekking recommendations. They keep the place super clean and it just has good loving energy. I felt very comfortable the entire time and would definitely suggest it specially for longer stays.

This was my 2nd visit to New Tourist Guesthouse, and the wonderful staff and owners treated me like family. This guesthouse is like a small retreat in the midst of busy Pokhara. The immaculate gardens give you a sense of peace where it is very relaxing to enjoy some quiet time with a good book or chat with other travelers. My room was very comfortable, but at this time of year, a small heater would be very welcome as the nights are cold and the room gets damp due to the rain. They serve breakfast, too. Shanty, the owner, makes delicious banana and cinnamon pancakes. The guesthouse is located a couple of minutes' walk from the lake. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby.

Beautiful idyllic location next to the lake with peaceful garden and the most kind and helpful staff. We stayed twice, before and after our trek and they were very accommodating, holding our extra luggage and answering any questions we had. Highly recommend.

Pour le prix il serait très difficile de ce plaindre. L'ensemble du personnel est fort sympathique. La chambre est propre avec un ventilateur plafond. Il y a de l'eau chaude et pleins de petites gargote dans la rue ( restaurants, laverie, magasins alimentaires). Ce qui palie à l'absence de restaurant et de petit-déjeuner dans l'hôtel. L'hôtel est à 4 mn de la rue principale.

Bisogna ricordare che è una guest house e non un hotel: non aspettatevi di trovare la stanza pulita tutti i giorni e i cestini dello sporco svuotati (viene pulita prima dell'arrivo e dopo). In dotazione viene data una saponetta. Purtroppo la nostra stanza peccava di privacy perché le finestre davano sul balcone da cui si giunge alle diverse stanze. L'aria condizionata non c'è, ma c'è solo un ventilatore. Le ciabatte in dotazione per la doccia sono un paio (anche se ci sono più ospiti) e ho dovuto richiedere un asciugamano in più (ce ne avevano dato uno ma eravamo in due). Bisogna chiedere quotidianamente la carta igienica.

The receptionist tried to sell me a different room instead of the one I had originally booked. He likely made up a story about someone staying in my room due to illness. He showed me another worst room for 800 rupees, but I refused and insisted on either the room I booked or a better one for the same price. After a heated discussion, he eventually gave me the room I had booked. Just be aware — the host might try this kind of dishonest tactic

Exelent location. Very near to lake, restaurants, and away from busy points of street. Beautiful courtyard. . Everything very clean And all the staffs helpfull and good.

Bed was a little small for me. But not a big problem.

Location was great, close to cafes, restaurants and shops. The guest house has a lovely garden area. The owners provided exceptional service.

The staff are very attentive and easy to communicate with, We couldn’t stay in the room booked as the mattress was a little too hard for us, they did try to make it a little more comfortable for us but we upgraded to a softer mattress. Rooms are very clean, comfortable, there’s fly-screens on the windows so you can open the windows and let the cool breeze in at night. Not a far walk from the lake and there’s lots of restaurants near by. Wifi works well. The bus we took from Kathmandu basically dropped us at the end of the street.

I like the friendliness and community developed around the resort.

Maybe cleanliness can be improved a bit.

Such a lovely place! The owners are super sweet, the lake is just a short walk away. Everything you need is nearby — perfect stay!

Place was nice and cozy. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Location was less than 5 minute walk from Phewa lake. Instead of high commode the room we stayed in had low commode. And no bidet. Other than that our stay was good.

Charging for water, basic rooms are really basic, but have bathroom attached which is a plus :) been too cold under the blanket only one night.

Hot drinking water was not readily available and we had to pay everytime we refilled our water bottles with drinking water.

Good hotel on price and good location

New Tourist Guest House is run by a very friendly family and staff. The location a little south of lakeside is a max. 10 minute walk from the center and still surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars and other hotels. It has a cute little yard to relax.

For the price range, I think its the best one. We were there at the new year eve so price went little up but its was a good stay so far as we booked it last moment.

Shower was not working properly. Slippers were super old. Just very small issues I think.

The location is really good, the garden is pretty, and the room and bathroom are clean. The owner and staff are all friendly, and the hot water comes out really well. There are restaurants, shopping, coffee shops, and a lake nearby. It's a perfect location. I had a comfortable rest. Thank you~^^~

Super friendly at all points during the stay - lovely people to chat to while passing through reception/garden. Very quiet location, but still close enough to the main tourist centre. Very helpful with storing bags, booking taxis and booking a room when we weren't sure on exact dates. Garden felt safe to store 2 kayaks while we were there. Room was very clean.

Not much to say really. Wasn't much space to hang kayaking kit up in the room, but I doubt that's a common complaint!

It was a special hostel with a home-like environment. The room was spacious. I like the trees, and plants around the property. The location was very convenient too.

The place was excellent for a budget trip, offering a variety of rooms at different price points. This flexibility is perfect for budget travelers. The property wasn't a stuffy building but had a lovely front yard, adding to its charm. Most importantly, the staff were exceptionally friendly and considerate. Despite booking a budget room, we were encouraged to explore other options and choose the one we preferred. My partner and I chose a budget room with low expectations, but we were surprised. The room was very clean, as was the toilet. They even provided extra towels and slippers. The location was also great. Overall, it was a fantastic stay.

Although there was plenty of natural light, the indoor lighting in the room was a bit inadequate. It's important to note that this place is more suited for friends and young couples.

Feels like home

This is my second visit in New Tourist Guest House and it was as good as last time. It's quiet, in a perfect location, run by a kind family and the garden offers such nice, calm surroundings. Room was really clean and comfortable.

Stuff was very kind, helpful, and beneficial for the visitors. The location couldn't be better- it's 2' from the main street in Pokhara and the road is very calm. We did not go for breakfast, so I cannot refer. The room was the best I've seen in Nepal traveling to different regions, in terms of design, comfort, and cleanness!

I have no objections. The standard is more than adequate to the price.

The family welcomed us so kindly, but that's Nepal for you. The room had so much sunlight with lots of windows you can open for fresh air, there was space to place our belongings, a decent sized bathroom, the power and wifi is good, it is quiet at night time. We were able to do some hand washing of our clothes outside and hang them to dry which is very handy! The location was good for us as it is out of the central hustle of Pokhara but close enough for walking to restaurants and the lake. The family was very helpful with all our queries and we would 100% stay again!

The room we had did not have much privacy, so we had the curtains shut most of the time we were in the room, as people walked by our windows a lot. The rooms also have a typical Nepal squat toilet which we don't mind but be aware of this if you prefer a Western toilet. No toilet paper provided.

Staff lovely. The outdoor areas are a really lovely touch for wanting to have tea or breakfast outside the room. Safe and welcoming vibe. Lock on the door. Breakfast was nice.

The ONLY thing I would say is the windows are thin so pack earplugs. But a very minor issue. With earplugs i slept fine. Bring some toilet roll if you use.

Very, very helpful staff. Great rooms, cosy and clean. Fantastic quiet and central location, if you want a peaceful place to stay that is great value and fast WiFi, choose this place.

Staff were very friendly, it was clean, hot shower in winter. Nice to have a bit of garden and we could see some Himalayas from the roof for sunrise. There were places to eat nearby and it was not too far from Lakeside. Also walking distance from the tourist bus park. Good value for money too. Thank you!

This guest house is a family run, and it feels like a home. Location is excellent , all necessities are very close, including lakes, fine restaurants, and shopping centers .management is very good and they take care of visitors very well. I strongly recommend this guest house to make your trip affordable and joyful 😊

My bond with the family goes back 46 years, and forty years after my last visit I found the new generation just as welcoming, accommodating, and eager to assist with any request. The room was very pleasant, the bed extremely comfortable, and the bathroom has a perfect hot shower. The garden is a little piece of heaven in the area. It's amazing to see how the New Tourist Guest House has evolved from its humble beginnings, while maintaining its wonderfully familial ambiance. This time I will not wait 40 years to return!

I was in September on the way to Anapurna. It is a family business, you can see the care and affection in the facilities and the garden. Don't hesitate to ask if you need anything. Always willing to help. The heir of this Hostel is a very intelligent boy and a good conversationalist. Without a doubt he will continue the care that his grandparents and parents have put into this charming place. Thanks from Barcelona.

Loved everything! Staff very kind and helpful. We made a mistake with our original booking dates and the staff were accommodating and got us sorted, no problem. Great location with being close to the lake but slightly down the street. Facilities were clean and tidy. Would stay here again!

Really nice and lovely family renting this place, very helpful with everything we needed! We could storage our Backpacks while trekking. Perfect location close to the Phewa Lake, shops, restaurants, etc. All in 5 Min. walking distance. Be aware: Cheapest rooms are equipped with squad toilet! We did not know about this, but it was no problem to change to a room with western toilet.

Beds were really hard and could have been a bit more comfortable.

Since very close to road, some high noisy dirt bikes disturbing the peace of stay during early morning.

They did not seem particularly happy to accommodate Indian guest. And was even charged for drinking water when tried to refill water bottle at the reception. Also room was different from the photos.

Lovely family. Decent sized room, with attached bathroom. I had no issues with the hot water. Convenient location.

The internet connection could be better/faster. They don't have a backup generator, so there may be times you'll be without power.

The best Guest House, in the quietest area of ​​Pokhara, a silent street where you can listen to the birds in the morning, since they have a beautiful garden with beautiful trees and flowers, the owners are a sweetheart, it is an exceptional family willing to always help with love and a smile, the rooms are well-equipped, clean, with a fan, I thank you for a very nice time with you!!!

no AC, it was not needed during the evening and morning but would be a plus mid day.

I stayed in the budget room. It's okay as a landing place, but maybe upgrade if you plan to stay a while as it's small. Bed was very comfy and the room was quiet.

The budget room has its own bathroom but no western toilet, just a squatter.

The hotel was amazing value for money. It was so nice and quiet, great location, clean and a beautiful garden to relax in. My only regret is that we could only stay one night. We'll definitely book here again when we return to Pokhara. Many thanks to the staff for a wonderful stay!
