Ach na Sheen Guest House

Very Good.

Staff, Sylvia, was very attentive at check in, in the evening and at breakfast. I thought the hotel would be loud at first but it was not. Great breakfast! My only 'negative' would be outdated furniture in room was aged and stained yellow. Linen smelt nice and freshly laundered. Comfortable bed.

The property was great and we were well looked after. We did have a hard time finding a local restaurant that was open after 6:00 PM.

The facility is not new, but everything was well maintained and worked well. The hostess, Sylvia was outstanding! She also cooks a fabulous breakfast to order, which also included fresh berries and home made jam.

The hosts were lovely and the breakfast was delicious!

Breakfast offerings were outstanding.

Sylvia was excellent and made our stay very welcoming. Our room was spacious. Breakfast was plentyfull and very nice. Plenty of onsite parking and a short walk to shops.

Fantastic breakfast always judged on the quality of the scrambled eggs.

Lovely lady who runs the place, but it needs updating badly.

The people that we interacted with that worked on the property were very nice.

Sylvia made us feel welcome and completely at home.

Lovely stay recently, Sylvia the host was very friendly and helpful. Nice comfortable room and great, freshly prepared breakfast

Comforable and Sylvia ran a great place.

As typical for Europe the room was small. It is an older facility with the quaint charm that comes with age. The staff were charming and very helpful. The only drawback was the lack of air conditioning, that is typical of older establishments. And that was only an issue because the weather was unusually hot and it became uncomfortably warm.

Comfortable beds and excellent breakfast

We had a lovely experience. The owner was warm and welcoming. The room was comfortable, the bathroom clean. The breakfast was excellent. Would highly recommend!

Sylvia and her family were amazing. The breakfast was astounding! Quaint, comfy room with solid wood furniture. They were all so nice and accommodating. My only minor complaint was they turn off the water pump at 11pm and back on at 7am because it's noisy. By no means a deal breaker.

Very nice people, good service and clean, However the property really needs some renovation and also all towels, bed sheets and even cloth table need to be replaced as all edges shredded over the years

Great place. Great staff. Shower was really small and hard to use. Toilet was also tricky. Overall, if you want to stay in Tipp Town, this is a great option.

Staffed by a family, the breakfast experience was extremely good. The proprietor was kind and knowledgeable about touring in Ireland in general. The rooms are a bit old, and had some carpentry issues that weren't advertised. The shower pump turning off at 11pm-7am was an oddity as well.

The facility is much older than depicted in the listing. The bathroom fixtures are dated at least 40 or 50 years and are rusty. The bed is not at all comfortable and the carpets are old and dirty. We asked for a refund which the owner refused so we contacted Expedia which managed to provide a partial refund. We did not spend the night there.

The hostess was very helpful and friendly. Her breakfast was large and amazing! Our only minor issue was that the rooms felt more like hostel rooms, with cinderblock walls and futon-like mattresses. However, slept very well, regardless.

We liked the location and while the rooms were a little dated and some areas needed tending to, the breakfast and the people were great!

Excellent guest house, very friendly and welcoming owners and staff. Breakfast was first class

Loved this guesthouse!

Wonderful service and breakfast. Room good but not aesthetically pleasing and tv very small. I was informed that water heater needed repair and was making a loud noise until shut off at 11pm. Hopefully, not a problem in the future.

Perfect host, had everything I was looking for. Old house, very clean and my room got the soft floor, not that I will go through but I did like it.

Great hospitality & wonderful breakfast

Washroom was small, but the room was quiet and the bed comfy. The staff are amazing. For some reason the floor beside the bed was wet? The breakfast was a real delight.

The room 10 had a countryside facing window to relax to. The shower had a good flow. The breakfast was comprehensive, healthy, good quality foods. Service at breakfast was cheerful and efficient. The bed and mattress were comfortable. The aura was positive, homely and relaxing.

Old but ok

We were met by Sylvia when we arrived. Allowed early check-in. She gave us great information on nearby walking/hiking trails & dining options. Parking onsite a plus. Accommodations were comfortable. Included breakfast which was delightful. Sylvia was a great host.

Very friendly guest house, very accommodating, able to check in early, great breakfast, lovely owner

Attentive staff. Clean but dated facilities. Wonderful breakfast.

We are not usually B and B folks, that said, this was a wonderful experience. Breakfast was a feast for the eyes and tastebuds. Sylvia cooked to order, so cheerful and friendly. Initially Tipperary was an in between stay but it turned out to be one of our favs.

I was made to feel welcome be by Sylvia and her staff. . A very traditional B&B with wonderful breakfast options to suit all tastes. Beautiful layout including fresh fruit.

Nice location. Wonderful hostess. Great breakfast.

Sylvia is a wonderful hostess. She is very welcoming and accommodating. We had a great time hanging out in the front room playing the piano and board games. She even cooked our breakfast to order and no extra fees. She is great and would stay again.

Wonderful hospitality. We were treated like family by the owner Sylvia. Made to order breakfast - even accommodated food allergies in our party. Highly recommend this wonderful place.

We enjoyed our stay with Silvia. She is a wonderful hostess. She helped us plan our day trips and even provided a cooler so we could keep our snacks in the car. Would visit again.

Very friendly helpful and beautiful breakfast

Dry friendly and accommodating.

Very friendly staff, offered to let me wash my close immediately as I had fallen and very accommodating. I would stay here again.

Right in the action of Tipperary . Great friendly stay with Silvia, the family and great friendly staff making your stay in Tip the best experience . We were there from Sydney for a family reunion for 3 nights and had the best stay and the comfort and friendliness was outstanding .would recommend anyone to stay here as it’s so close to Tipperary town . Thanks for a great stay we all loved it. John Sandra Jake Grace and Brodie

Beautiful bed and breakfast in the Tipperary area. Our host Sylvia was vvry welcoming. Comfortable beds, excellent breakfast and close to Rock of Cashel and Cahir Castle. Highly recommend this establishment.

Silvia is a great host and makes you very welcome. Great location for the area.

The house is charming, especially the well apportioned dining room, and Sylvia is amazing, the very soul of generous hospitality … and a wonderful cook. Hers was far and away the best Irish breakfast I had of my several trips to Ireland! Sylvia even found me great local help with my family history quest and is herself quite knowledgeable about local history and about things to do and see in the vicinity. The central area of Tipperary town is just a short walk away and Sylvia is an excellent guide to the various local shops The house is older so has a few quirks as to be expected, but everything is very clean and comfortable. I had quite a lovely time in Tipperary largely thanks to Sylvis and my stay at her establishment.

We were made very welcome by Sylvia and her team. A very traditional B&B with wonderful breakfast options to suit all tastes.

The owner Sylvia of this quaint property is very friendly and informative. We really enjoyed staying there.

Hostess was excellent, breakfast was delicious. Bed mattress was flimsy - could feel the springs.

A very warm welcome from the host on my late arrival. Homely feel to the nicely laid out property. Handy location for touring, with good links to the ferry and major cities. Walking distance to the town and my first Guinness. Sylvia served up an extensive delicious breakfast with homemade bread from a family recipe. Will certainly return on my next tour.

The guest house and room was in that much disrepair we walked into the room, spent 10 minutes booking another hotel and promptly left. The bathroom was mouldy and the toilet seat was broken, there was about 2 inches of dust behind the bed and before you ask why we looked there, we were checking for bugs as there were no word of a lie about 100 dead flies and insects on the inside windowsills. You couldn't have opened the windows if you wanted as its smack bang in the middle of major road works currently and noisy as hell. I think they'd tipped an entire bottle of bleach down the plughole to clear it, judging by the smell and my eyes streaming just by washing my hands. It was more like a hostel, with the man in the room opposite coming out in his boxer shorts and walking around, whilst leaving his room.door wide open and playing music as loud as you like. When we explained we were leaving, as at this point my wife was having am asthma attack, the owner said "we dust once a week, do you want me to pop in and give it a quick wipe now" How about you clean it inbetween each guest and more thoroughly. So as i said left and drove to Kilkenny and an absolutely beautiful clean hotel. Wouldnt touch this place with a barge pole, even if the previous reviews all said a 'little' dates but breakfast waa good, there was no way we were making it that far!

Sylvia was charming and her breakfast was amazing. The property is cozy and a great base for exploring the area.

Not new but spotlessly clean. Bed a bit soft for us but comfortable enough for a night or two. Fantastic breakfast and lovely staff. Convenient location to pubs and restaurants. Will stay again if we are in the area.

Sylvia and her staff were very friendly and assisted us with all our questions. The rooms were very clean. Great location!

Perfect b&b to use as a stop over on my travels around Ireland. Slyvia was the perfect host. Breakfast was plentiful and beautiful. Will definitely stop there again if I'm back in the area

Nice stay in Tipperary town, very close to pubs/Main Street/Lidl etc. Used as a stopover before a soccer tournament in Limerick for our son. The team won, so he must have had a good night's rest! Fantastic breakfast with many options, even our kid found something he liked to eat for breakfast. Room was a good size, decor a bit dated for my liking but the shower was strong. Would stay again if visiting the area.

Loving guest house. Amazing service. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast and nice rooms. Definitely recommend.

The staff were very kind and helpful. Silvia couldn’t do enough for us, my wife needed to see a doctor, she arranged the visit without hesitation. Breakfast was 1st class, the fresh fruit was amazing and cooked breakfast was great too. The bathroom could do with a spruce up.

Service was superb as was breakfast. Accommodations were casual and comfortable. Structure was somewhat dated but everything was in working order. I would highly recommend it for those who are looking for great value with reasonable expectations.

Our host Sylvia was very warm, kind, welcoming and friendly. She served an excellent breakfast! She went out of her way to make sure that we were comfortable. We were disappointed with the property being somewhat rundown.

Sylvia was most welcoming. Accommodations were adequate, a bit dated but functional. Location was close to town

Ach Na Sheen was very accommodating. The staff was particularly welcoming and concerned that guests were comfortable.

What a wonderful place to stay. The host, Sylvia, was outstanding and delightful. The breakfast was traditionally delicious. We highly recommend this place!!!

Property dated and in need of a refresh. Breakfast was good and plentiful. There is no mirror and an outlet close to each other to dry your hair even though a hair dryer was provided.

Ach na Sheen was perfect for our group! Sylvia was wonderfully helpful and great fun. We enjoyed everything about our stay.

Very outdated, rooms and bathrooms sorely in need of an update. However, friendly staff and good breakfast . Carpets, old and stained, but vacuumed and beds were clean.

It was very pleasant. Staff very friendly

The host was wonderful and accommodating. The breakfast menu was lovely and the food was very good. Some of the issues we encountered were the heating not working so our sheets were damp. The sink was leaking water, we were told it was going to be fixed and it still leaked.

Very quaint B&B just outside of the downtown area. Little older, but makes up in great food and friendliness.

The host was wonderful and made my son and I feel right at home. She also cooks one heck of a breakfast...delicious! Thanks for a wonderful stay and all the friendliness!

Very friendly staff who let me check in a good few hours early in order to drop my things before attending a wedding. Breakfast was fantastic as well!

Our stay, although short, was great. The owner was delightful as were her young adult children. We slept well and had a very nice breakfast.

Great b+b , perfect location right in the centre of Tipperary, the hostess Sylvia was lovely very warm and welcoming, the breakfast was fantastic, would definitely recommend

Large room with big windows to see around. We ate out although few places were open on the night. Managed to find somewhere open to get dinner. Take away was had and we went back to the hotel to enjoy the open room with games etc. this room really added value to the stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Ach na sheen Guest House. The staff was very helpful, provided rides, and gave us great information about the area.

Incredibly friendly & helpful host. Rooms are clean & comfortable although a bit dated. Breakfast was delicious & plentiful.

Clean tidy an relaxing. Lovely breakfast

Lovely warm greeting by Sylvia after long drive getting there. Couldn't do enough for us that evening and at breakfast. Excellent friendly environment.

Stayed one night with small kids; comfy beds, easy walk into town, very friendly accommodating staff, BEST breakfast!

Excellent service and so impressed with how accommodating the staff are, including driving us to a restaurant for our evening meal. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

We loved the feeling of really being in a small town in Ireland, rather than a hotel. Felt very European, everything was spotless, the breakfast was well-appointed and delicious! The host was kind enough to connect us with a local genealogist who was extremely helpful in starting the family research - this would not have been possible staying in a generic hotel. Very happy with the visit!

Great property. Fabulous host

The hosts where wellcoming and the room was large and had a kingsize bed that was realy comfortable.

we really enjoyed our stay.comfortable surroundings very helpful staff and a great breakfast served every morning with warm friendly people

Great place to stay. I will be back

Clean lodgings and welcoming host. Convenient parking. Well located to explore the Tipperary area.

Sylvia was soo wonderful and cheerful. Just a delight to be around. Her homemade breakfast was amazing!!! I would highly recommend staying here!

We can’t understand the reviews of this hotel, we are fine with older decor if it’s clean and comfortable. This place is neither. The room was small, dark and felt like a 1970s school camp. Noise from other guests comes through the ceiling and concrete walls. After checking in we seriously discussed leaving, and wish we had. It the first place we’ve ever slept on top of the bed instead on in it after discovered dirty sheets. The bathroom was old, mouldy, missing tiles and had rubbish from the last guests in the shower. Overpriced and horrible

We stayed here three nights and each night was lovely! Sylvia was a great host. The room was clean and spacious, town close enough to walk to dinner or the store, easy parking. Breakfast was made to order each morning with a delicious buffet of yogurt, cheeses, fruit and juice while we waited. I highly recommend staying here. We used it as our base for day trips to the Rock of Cashel, Cobh & Cork, and Limerick.

Fabulous host and superb breakfast. Thanks

The owners are wonderful and welcoming, the food was awesome. Great place to stay.

Really friendly staff.

The owner, Slyvia, was very friendly, funny and made us feel welcomed. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of entrees and fruit to pick from. She also introduced us to Michael who is a genealogist, who helped us research our anchestors (Maher and Dugan) in Tipperary.

Very nice little place to stay at. I enjoyed the breakfast, they even had grapefruit juice! Staff was wonderful - very friendly, and also helped me find local bus routes and places to eat. Highly recommend if you're ever going through Tipperary.

The owner is a lovely, friendly hostess and provides a delicious breakfast. She gave a good suggestion for a dinner restaurant. Bedroom and a little dated.

Very friendly welcome. Lovely sized room. Great breakfast with really nice staff. The location is perfect for a wander into town. highly recommend.

We made a booking for one night as part of our motorcycle tour. No issues with booking On arrival, lots of parking on site. Met by the owner, Sylvia, who was a super host throughout. Cold drinks, bowls of ice ( it was 30degs+) Full run down on the area, good and bad. Nothing was an issue. The room was large and had everything you needed. Breakfast is freshly cooked by, yes, Sylvia, and it was first class and filling Highly recommended

I would absolutely stay here again. The room was clean and the owner was incredibly nice and knowledgeable and gave a great recommendation for a local dinner spot with a view. My room didn’t have air conditioning, but it had a fan, and even though I was visiting during a heat wave, it was very comfortable.

Beautiful view from room
