Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour au Greenfield ecostay. L'endroit est magnifique, la grande piscine avec une vue sublime, on y mange très bien, et les vélos sont mis gratuitement à disposition, et la location d'un scooter est très pratique pour se balader dans la région. René et sa femme sont de super hôtes, plein de bons conseils et bienveillants.

We absolutely loved our stay at Greenfield Ecostay. We travelled as a family of four with two children, and it was such a lovely place for all of us. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed, but what really makes this place special is the incredible location. Surrounded by rice fields and mountains, it is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. We actually accidentally arrived a day earlier than we had booked, and René and Ngân were so kind and accommodating, managing to make space for us at very short notice. We really appreciated how helpful and welcoming they were, and they genuinely made us feel at home throughout our stay. We hired bikes and loved riding around the local area, which was great to do as a family. The pool is exceptional – probably one of the most beautiful settings for a pool we have ever experienced. The children absolutely loved it, and it was the perfect place for all of us to relax after exploring. The food was another highlight. We had breakfast there each morning and also stayed for dinner a few times. Everything was so fresh and delicious. In particular, the pancakes with mango and banana are out of this world – definitely order them! Greenfield Ecostay was one of the highlights of our trip and somewhere we would happily return to. It was perfect for us as a family, and if you are visiting the Phong Nha area and want somewhere peaceful, beautiful and genuinely welcoming, we couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Pool

An absolute gem in Phong Nha! It’s important to know that this place is located outside the village, but for us, that’s exactly what makes it so special. You are surrounded by greenery, fields and absolute silence, yet there is a very easy and convenient road to get into Phong Nha whenever you want. And you can rent a scooter at the property for a very little money. The property itself is beautiful: a fantastic garden, lots of space and a gorgeous swimming pool overlooking the surrounding fields. Sitting by the pool and enjoying the peace and the view was one of the real pleasures of our stay. Breakfast was also excellent, freshly prepared every morning and made to order according to what we wanted. Everything was cooked on the spot, which made it feel much more personal than the usual hotel breakfast. But above all, what makes this place exceptional are the hosts. The couple who welcomed us are incredibly kind and genuine people. They were always smiling, extremely helpful and ready to support us with anything we needed during our holiday. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel truly welcome. For the price you pay, the value is simply unbelievable. Honestly, this place feels like it should cost ten times more. Peace, nature, beautiful surroundings and wonderful people. One of those places you are genuinely happy to have discovered. We would come back without hesitation.

Really enjoyed our stay, the pool is a great bonus after a busy day, gorgeous views over the rice paddies, so peaceful. Rene and Nguyen are excellent hosts, friendly with lots of good tips, creating a community atmosphere. Great breakfast and delicious evening meals. Bikes you can borrow, I could have stayed a month!

Rene, the owner of the ecostay is a realy nice guy who is going to help you with everything you need to organize your activities in the area. I prolonged my stay because the region is beautifull and it was the highlight of my motorbike trip to Vietnam. Strongly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful stay here. One of our favourite places we’ve stayed at so far in Vietnam! It’s a Beautiful location, not far from town and the hosts are really kind and welcoming! They gave us excellent recommendations of places to visit and restaurants to try. Scooters are available to rent and the hosts even let us use their own personal scooter when we needed it! Very clean, quiet and in the most wonderful location. We moved here after having to change our booking from a nearby hotel that had a rat problem, and the hosts let us check in shortly after booking it first thing in the morning. They even let us keep the room until our night bus arrived! They have the best salt water pool around, breakfasts are amazing and you are surrounded by beautiful gardens and fields. If you want a truly peaceful stay, surrounded by nature, this is the place to book in Phong Nha!

Quand on arrive on est accueilli par René et sa femme comme si on arrivait chez des amis. C'est un endroit magique. Nous étions 5 et avons pris nos repas le soir et aussi le petit déjeuner. Un vrai régal en plus d'être très bien présenté. Un étape magnifique. Sans doute une des meilleurs au Vietnam, jusque là c'est notre troisième voyage.

Greenfield Ecostay is like a oasis within beautiful rice fields and surrounded by the mountains. Lovely food with vegetables from their own garden, and Rene and Ngân are fantastic hosts.

This is a hidden gem - a wonderful family run homestay in the middle of the stunning Vietnam countryside. The hosts and their team were amazing - from the moment we arrived we felt right at home. The warm welcome, the food, the conversations, the atmosphere, the care to make sure you’re ok and have everything you need was exceptional. If you have the chance to stay at Greenfield, don’t think twice about it, just book - you won’t regret your time spent here surrounded by beautiful nature and wonderful people.

Fijne gastheer en vrouw, maken gezellig een praatje. Tour naar de grotten ook bij hen te boeken. Goede locatie in de rijstvelden, 10 min met de auto van phong nha. De buurt kan je met de gratis fiets verkennen. Kamer was fijn, warm water. Tot nu toe beste verblijf in Vietnam.

Best place in Vietnam. Our gracious and accommodating hosts, Rene and Ngan, went above and beyond, for example, they bought a lamp for our room so I could read at night and upgraded our room for free. Definitely the most beautiful setting of any place I've ever stayed. I could watch the buffalo, cows, and farmers in their rice paddies from the gorgeous infinity pool, surrounded by greenery and flowers, or watch the sunset from our balcony or hang out on comfortable chairs in the thatched roof pavilion. Phong Nha and this beautiful gem of a hotel is my favorite place in Vietnam; magical. The valley is surrounded by mountains - awesome photo opportunies. I loved swimming in the huge, clean, salt water pool. Flexibility with meal times was appreciated. Rene, his wife and staff made great coffee, and delicious meals, with many choices, including a special BBQ meal, and we loved hanging out with Rene and drinking great wine and Scotch whiskey (he has a great bar), and hearing about his many experiences and swapping stories. Rene was a motorcycle tour guide for years so his expertise was very helpful. Rene even fixed my iPhone and arranged for his motorcycle mechanic to put air in the tires and oil the chain. We enjoyed cycling into town on his free bicycles, and walking to a restaurant called Lotus in the village. Our huge room and big bathroom counter had many places to put our stuff. Quiet area at night.

Essentially, nothing. Wet shower, ie, not enclosed, so your feet get wet when using the commode but this is common for Vietnam, but the sink area was dry - a plus. Bed was a little too firm for me, also common in Vietnam - my husband thought it was OK - but I used another comforter to add padding and then it was fine.

We had an amazing stay at Greenfields. We had to change our plans due to most of the caves/tours being cancelled due to the typhoon at the time but René and his wife were very helpful and organising other activities for us (the jungle hike was great!). We loved swimming in the pool every afternoon and having a few drinks. They also organised washing for us, and we borrowed some push bikes to ride around for the day. The little cats they have are sooo cute and friendly, and definitely a highlight haha. The food was delicious and it was so nice not to have to go back out after a big day if we didn't want to. Overall, a stunning location overlooking the rice fields, with a beautiful garden and lovely owners/staff. We will be back!

We loved our stay at Greenfields, it was a great detox from the busy city. Renee was an awesome host, nothing was too much trouble. He helped us with transport & a tour to local places with local people, & was always up for a chat, which we loved! The pool was amazing & very much a feature of the place, a swim on a hot day was very relaxing.

This place was perfect for our trip

This is my second stay at Greenfield, it is only a couple of km’s out of Phong Nha and situated beside the rice fields. It is so relaxing with an amazing pool and the hosts are so welcoming and genuine. Both nights an excellent dinner was provided by the hosts which made it even more relaxing. You can’t go wrong with staying here !!!!

Emplacement éloigné de tout, il nous a fallu prendre un grab pour aller manger (à noter qu'il est possible de dîner sur place le soir). Coût du transport assez élevé et pas toujours évident à trouver (René peut vous partager le contact d'un chauffeur, mais il faut compter 200k aller retour) Bien sûr pour ceux qui sont véhiculer pas de problème.

Feeling apart of a small community for the length of the stay. The quiet space outlooking the rice fields. Riding a bike to get around. Chatting to the other guests staying there. The Pool.

The beauty of the place exceeded expectations. So glad we found this place. It’s easy to get around from here but we stayed in the pool relaxing on the sofas for a couple of days because it was such a beautiful pool and view. Renee and his wife are the loveliest people and we felt so looked after during our stay. Prices were really reasonable and Renee organised great trips out for us. They did our laundry. We could have stayed and would definitely go back in a heartbeat ❤️ They really go above and beyond for their guests. The food was excellent and this was easily the best place we stayed over our whole trip.

We hebben een geweldige tijd gehad bij Greenfield Ecostay. Het is heel ruimtelijk en toch knus. Zowel het avondeten als het ontbijt was elke dag heerlijk. Het zwembad is groot met een super uitzicht en voldoende plekken om te liggen. De omgeving is prachtig, er is veel te ondernemen maar je kan ook gewoon genieten van de natuur. De eigenaren zijn heel vriendelijk, behulpzaam en gezellig! Als je naar Phong Nha gaat moet je zeker weten hier een paar nachten verblijven.

Greenfield is surrounded by lush vegetation and vibrant green fields, just a short ride from Phong Nha center by scooter, car, or taxi. The setting is peaceful, with a beautiful garden and a fantastic seawater pool. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, thanks to the  hosts, René and Mémé, who go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay— I recommend checking with them for transportation and tours—they’re very helpful and knowledgeable. Good breakfast with fresh homemade options. One of the highlights of our stay was biking through the area, it was a fantastic way to explore the surroundings. Free bicycles are available, and scooters can also be rented. Highly recommended! Our teenage sons said it was their favorite place in Vietnam so far.

The owners are so helpful and friendly, the setting is breathtaking and of course it is well placed for adventures in Phong Nha Ke Bang caves and jungle treks. After a day exploring the area you can cook off in the pool and enjoy the stunning views across rice farms and karst formations. Serves great local food for dinner, and the pancakes at breakfast are the best we've had so far in Vietnam!

Wow, what a great stay we had. Lovely property a bit out of town next to rice fields. The owners are so hospitable and friendly and nothing is an effort. Breakfast was great and plentiful. We ate in a couple of times and meals delicious. There are pushbikes for a nice ride into town.

I loved everything! Definitely the best place I stayed in Vietnam. The owner is such a sweet lady, she makes you feel at home. The food was great. Good service of WiFi, important if you are working remotely like me. The rooms are big, clean and very comfortable. I spent lot of time at the pool and garden. There is also laundry service and they can arrange transportation from and to the airport. You can use the bike for free and explore the surroundings. Very beautiful area.

Owners provided an excellent, safe place with awesome facilities, great meals, and super advice on what to do at very affordable prices. Greenfield has the most charming infinity pool overlooking the rice fields. It has seating for everyone for quiet time to be by yourself to a true bar full of all your favourite spirits and beers where you can chat to other tourists and the occasional local. Renae organised all my activities from the moment I arrived, right to the best sleeper bus to Hoi an i have experienced below what I was looking at online in all cases. Thanks to all the staff at Greenfield Eco stay.

Nothing to dislike

Beautiful setting amongst rice fields with views of limestone peaks and distant mountains. Ngan and Rene couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful, and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed a lunch and three excellent dinners prepared by Ngan and her staff and she even welcomed my daughter to learn how to make a few different rolls.Breakfasts were included with basic offerings and great fresh fruit. Rene arranged to reschedule our bus to Ninh Binh because we wanted to stay an extra night with them in Phong Nha. He also arranged a day tour of two of the area's caves for us. Great infinity pool, lounging and eating areas and a perfect little bar area. We loved everything about this great place and couldn't recommend it enough. It was perfect for our stay near Phong Nha - Ke Bang and so happy we found it!! Thank you Ngan and Rene for such a memorable few days!!

This was by far the best homestay during our Vietnam vacation! The location is super quiet and beautiful (therefore requires some time to get there by bicycle or scooter, both available for rent). The hosts are super helpful and mindful and easy going. Also very knowledgeable about trips & travel destinations. The food is great and fresh and the pool as well as the property is just beautiful for relaxation. This was our place for refueling our energy.

The only small thing you could complain about are the slightly draughty rooms vs the AC. But well, therefore they are clean and not humid or moldy in any way!

What an oasis after the hustle and bustle of the major cities! I could not believe how unbelievably lucky we were to chance upon this place. From the incredibly reasonable rates, to the stunning views, to the warm, generous and caring hosts, who at the same time gave you your space and the most delicious and hearty home-cooked meals, it was the most memorable and special of experiences during our time in Vietnam. The laundry cost a song and the drinks, next to nothing! And most importantly, the showers were hot. Wifi was freely available everywhere, despite being in the midst of the paddy fields. The pushbikes are free so treat yourself to a trip to the Phong Nha Caves nearby. And at 100.000 dong you can hire the Homestay's scooters and head to Paradise Caves.

If you are looking for the perfect stay around Phong Nha stop searching and start booking! We loved everything about it. The people, the place, the pool, the beautiful rice fields and that everything was so quiet and peaceful. Thank you!!

Rene and his wife have created a very special place. A meeting place for fellow travellers in a stunning location. Rene is an amazing, generous host. A genuine people-person full of interesting and entertaining stories and useful information about Vietnam, but at the same time very interested in others. Helping yourself to beers from the fridge and writing them down in the "honesty book" further creates an atmosphere of feeling at home. Undoubtedly our most memorable place to stay on this six week trip to Vietnam. Leaning against the side of the pool gazing out over the paddy fields was an unforgettable experience. We rented a scooter for the day to visit the mind-blowing Paradise Cave at a very reasonable price and didn't even have to fill up with petrol on return. Good breakfast with limitless coffee. Finally a personal story: we had brought our own bicycle combination locks to Vietnam as we knew cycling would feature prominently on our six week trip. We left one of the locks attached to one of the bicycles when we left for our next destination in Dong Hoi. I messaged Rene to let him know the combination just so the lock could be removed from the bicycle and used by others. Much to our surprise the lock arrived a few hours later to our hotel room in Dong Hoi, which was completely unexpected but very appreciated. Thanks Rene!

The room was pretty basic, but this was more than made up for by all of the other aforementioned attributes of Greenfield Ecostay.

The breakfast pancakes were a hit with our kids as was the pool! The staff were super friendly and caring. The surrounding scenery was gorgeous.

Amazing owners, made to feel very welcome, plus they helped us plan tours and transportation. Loved that most residents had communal dinners together, met great people and had lovely conversations. Pretty location, nice pool. Great value

Authentic Vietnam Quite simply, I experienced something special here… There are many amazing sights to see in Vietnam, and there are many people here to see them. As we tourists swarm from place to place, we just might miss the extra special things Vietnam has to offer today. Here, I found something we are all searching for. In the fields and villages that surround Greenfield, there is a pace of life and harmony that, if you let it, will give you something very rare in today’s world… In addition, your host, maître d', and bartender, Rene, is something special too. A Belgian gentleman who has lived in Vietnam for over 30 years, he speaks English, French, Vietnamese, Dutch—the list goes on and on. This means we all get a chance to hear his unique blend of wisdom. He will guide you, if you wish, to find the best places near and far, whilst regaling you with stories of his experiences. To give you a flavour , he worked on the movie *The Quiet American*, supplying extras and meeting Michael Caine! If you prefer, he simply melts into the background. Like all great hosts, he creates an environment of bonhomie. Whilst I was there, this certainly helped all of us guests to get to know one another for the brief time we met as our journeys crossed. If you allow it, this place will give you something very special as well. If you are fortunate in life, you find authentic people and places… In Greenfield, I think I found both.

In all honesty, if you find any faults speak to Rene and he will deal with them. I for one, had no issues.

Wonderful views and pool. Super friendly owners. Used grab to get there from the bus only about 80k. So worth getting out of the main town. Can hire a scooter from the stay for 100k for a day to do a loop and see the caves. They can do laundry for 150k each, which seems quite expensive. Amazing dinner, with a good portion, but not necessarily having a choice and was 150/175k which seems quite expensive in comparison to the surrounding area. Overall, I would definitely come back and recommend, but it would be nice to have prices given to us/written somewhere before having things.

Taxi which is orangise by the stay was 150k into town, pretty extortionate compared to any Grab.

Greenfield is idyllic, set a short distance away from the sleepy village of Phong Nha in the rice fields. We came to Phong Nha to disconnect and explore the incredible scenery and we were not disappointed, this is definitely a place to switch off. Greenfield itself is an oasis, the pool has the rice fields as its backdrop. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you require, the breakfast was fresh and filling and dinner was different every night, freshly cooked and with produce from their own garden. However, what really makes this place are the owners, Rene and his wife. They made us feel so welcome, are fabulously knowledgable in respect of the local area and Vietnam more widely, and Rene is your very own Google translate, he speaks a number of languages so everyone feels included, he is also fair game for a little banter 😊 can’t recommend this place enough.

We loved staying here! It is in such a peaceful location surrounded by fields. Our hosts were generous with their time and were always happy to help. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. We loved the pool and the gardens in the property. They have good, free bikes to borrow so you can explore the local area easily. Would recommend!

Hot water runs out quite quickly!

A beautiful homestay in the middle of the rice fields. The rooms are simple and clean. The place is cozy and the owners are super nice. They help with all questions and give valuable tips. The food tastes great and you can take a moped directly from there into the national park. An ideal accommodation for backpackers, families and travelers who want to travel authentically.

We just missed the village planting the rice with a day or two, that would have been an experience!

We stayed 3 nights at Greenfield Ecostay and wished we could have stayed longer. The location is stunning, with the most amazing views over the rice fields. The pool is the best I have seen in Vietnam. Rene and his wife are very friendly and offer great travel tips, they also offer motorbikes that can be hired to explore the surrounding areas. The caves, mountains and forests of Phong Nha are truly stunning and well worth exploring.

Great little find - peaceful out in the countryside, wonderful pool to cool off in and fabulous host in Rene. We ended up having dinner both nights and the food was delicious and plentiful.

We recently stayed at this charming countryside ecostay run by a lovely couple. From the warm smiles upon arrival to their genuine willingness to assist, the hosts made our stay truly enjoyable. The place is surrounded by picturesque rice fields, offering a serene setting for relaxation. The real highlight for our little ones was the beautiful pool. Our kids had an absolute blast splashing around, and we felt at ease knowing they were safe. The pool area was thoughtfully equipped with balls for play and plenty of towels for our convenience. Additionally, the relaxation zone by the pool was simply fantastic, offering a tranquil space to unwind and enjoy the serene surroundings. I recommend this place to families looking to experience the beauty and tranquility of the countryside. It's a perfect retreat for those traveling with kids, offering a delightful blend of comfort and peacefulness.

Situated in a serene little village, friendly folks (owner and staff) with excellent sense of service and chilled vibes made you feel at home. Simple yet amazing ! The swimming pool with a panoramic view of the rice field was phenomenal. Merci Ngan et René pour cette belle expérience 🥰. We'll be back !

Amazing property with a super friendly staff. Great biking distance to main town, although we stayed mostly in the home stay for the amazing pool and view. The food from Greenfield was gorgeous too!

Rene and his wife are great hosts. Together with their son and the whole staff they made our stay a fabulous time. Initially we planed to stay only 2 nights but eventually extended to 4 nights. Such a relaxed, quiet, and peaceful place between rice fields. But still just a few minutes ride into town. Our bungalow was clean and cozy. We liked the vegetable garden and the big pool overlooking the rice fields. We had great breakfast and super delicious dinner. They offer to rent scooter, provide tips, and help you with planning tours if you like. On our last day Rene and his son drove us to our pick-up place for the bus. We can definitely recommend this beautiful place. It was one of our best stays in Vietnam throughout our trip.

I absolutely loved my stay at Greenfield. The owner (Rene) along with his wife and son made my stay extra special. They were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The facilities were incredible, especially my room and the outdoor pool. I had 2 delicious breakfasts, as well as an unofficial lunch and an evening meal. The other guests were also lovely. I hired a moped from Rene and they also did my laundry - I didn't have to lift a finger! The location was a little out of the centre but that was a huge plus for me. So peaceful and quiet (but only 5 mins into town and the lake). The place, room and pool area were particularly clean also. This is by far one of the best places I have stayed in during my time in Vietnam.

The hosts were fantastic. Went out of their way to help with everything. Speak perfect English, and very flexible and accommodating with everything. Breakfast is included but you are welcome to eat lunch and dinner with them if you want. Beautiful outlook with lovely swimming pool overlooking the paddy fields. Good bikes for use to ride into town if you want. Loved everything about our stay. Perfect!! Thankyou!

Amazing Ecostay in a quiet, relaxing part of Phong Nha. The owners are awesome - thoughtful, caring and interested / interesting. They will go out of their way to help with tours, support etc. The food is great - the evening meals especially - and the swimming pool has one of the best views we had.

The location was amazing, very beautiful surroundings. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

This place is like a home away from home! Located between the rice fields with views of the farmed tending their land, walking the cows it’s impossible not to just sit back and relax. The owners are amazing - so friendly and warmhearted. It’s 7 km from the city of Phong Nha but it’s an easy and beautiful to go by bicycle (which is free to use also). The room is simple but comfortable but the pool and the surroundings is like a four star hotel⭐️ If you want the staff cooks an amazing dinner for you every night

We had an amazing stay at Ecofield! Renee and Nuoung are amazing hosts who go out of their way to make guests feel at home and to ensure they enjoy their time in Phong Nha. It was easy to borrow bicycles and rent scooters, and they provided great recommendations about the local area. The food they serve is amazing, and the pool area is incredible with gorgeous views of the mountains and rice fields!

The house is very cozy, and the host is very helpful and nice. This is not a ‘yet another hotel’, this place has the soul. Moreover, everything is clean and fresh in the room with a nice garden and pool outside
