The castle is a stunning experience: you can walk around the grounds, which have very pretty nature. Strongly recommend to book the three course menu for dinner. The food was amazing, both dinner and breakfast.

Absolutely gorgeous old Victorian manor house hotel on the shores of Loch Oich with the ruins of the historic Invergarry Castle on the same grounds. The staff were superb, from check-in to the restaurant. At dinner we were served the best meal we had in Scotland, retired to the library for games, cheese and port, and breakfast the next morning was freshly cooked for each patron.

There was nothing I didn't like. It was a little more expensive than similarly rated hotels around, but Scotland at that time of year seems to be pricey, so you get what you pay for. I was happy to pay a little more to stay in an establishment such as this.

The castle and grounds are historic and fun to experience. Staff were attentive and kind. Food was delicious. The rooms brought to mind a different time.

Food menu for dinner was small

The most romantic hotel we have been trough. It only doesn’t have five stars because it doesn’t have a lift but everything else is exceptional. The food was top level and the wine list is luxury level. The staff is very easy going as is the overall experience. The grounds are absoluetly wonderful and I hope the hotel will not renovate anything into these modern messes they are doing today. Clean, smelling wonderful and you really feel like you are living in someones house.

Il Glengarry castle hotel sembra uscito da un romanzo di Agatha Christie, perfetto per ambientare una storia di Hercule Poirot. Peccato che il delitto si consumi all’interno della cucina del castello dove vengono preparati cibi improbabili . Sicuramente noi italiani siamo abituati troppo bene e quindi è anche colpa nostra che abbiamo aspettative troppo elevate. All’entrata della sala da pranzo comunque sostituirei il cartello “dining room” con un più dantesco “lasciate ogni speranza o voi che entrate “. Inoltre, va bene esporre l’argenteria, ma ogni tanto andrebbe anche pulita

A spacious and comfortable family-run hotel, a peaceful oasis at the edge of a lake in an otherwise very busy corner of the country. Lovely room, comfortable bed, good shower, kind staff, good breakfast! We had a wonderful time.

Location & surroundings were exceptional. Meals & cream teas were to die for. Very professional friendly staff on hand.

Magical setting, peace of mind, secluded and cozy. This was a setting that totally matched our personality: full of reading corners and lounges around the castle, inviting gardens around the estate, even its own flock of sheep to contemplate near the Loch. Best stay in a long time.

Amazing experience that puts you into a Jane Austen novel. Nearby Castle ruins with history and proximity to the loch as well as immaculate rooms were a true find.

Beautifully decorated magical castle. Relaxing reading room and sun room to lounge around in with a book or drink. Wonderful dining room, with excellent service from the young staff. Lovely walks around the property, down to the Loch, through the hidden forest or along to the old castle ruins. The rooms are beautifully styled in period furniture with mod-cons. This is our third stay.

It is a stand alone property in the country side, so access only via car. But it is central to many tourist attractions.

We loved walking around the property-it is in beautiful surroundings. The library was relaxing for reading, drawing, having a drink while looking out at the water. The seated Scottish breakfast was delicious and the servers were kind. The view from the room was also beautiful.

The room was small; the bathroom was very small. The shower temperature was barely lukewarm after a cold, wet day(our biggest complaint). The tub was not clean.

First class stay. Lovely people! Great food!

The most charming authentic place we’ve ever come across. Stumbled in here after a few nights of very wet and windy camping on Skye and felt like we’d arrived in heaven. The staff are warm and welcoming, the restaurant is exceptional, and the rooms are cosy and quiet. Wanted to stay here forever!

Nice experience to live in an older castle/mansion compared to new modern living accomodations. Nice big rooms, great breakfast, great dinner. Great staff.

The restaurant was on the more expensive side, as you might expect. But keep that in mind when booking and you want to eat there.

History and location

Bland decor throughout the hotel is most unfortunate. Big rooms need bolder decor not cream everywhere!

Beautiful old estate in Invergarry. Location is good as a stop between Glencoe and Skye or Inverness.

Everything about this hotel (with the minor difficulty that it did not have an elevator, and our rooms required quite a bit of lugging luggage up stairs) was wonderful. The place is really beautiful and situated in a magical spot. There is a ruin of a real castle (Invergarry Castle) on the grounds of the hotel, and it is on the banks of Loch Oich, so it is extremely picturesque. The staff were uniformly warm and delightful, and the food was outstanding.

My only slight reservation was the lack of an elevator, but the house is such that I don't think they could put one in. Otherwise, it was as close to perfect as it could be. Our favorite hotel out of five we stayed at on our trip.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Unser Zimmer mit Himmelbett war sehr geräumig. Das Frühstück schmeckte gut, es gab reichlich Auswahl. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Wenn es überhaupt etwas zu sagen gibt, dann, dass die Matratze für unseren Geschmack zu hart war.

What a gem of a hotel. We booked this an hour before we checked in whilst doing the NC500. The temperature was dropping down to 1 degree C so we decided to opt for a hotel rather than the campervan for a night! If you are passing Invegarry book a night here. You will not be disappointed. Our room was small but spotlessly clean and had everything we needed . And the service from all the staff from the warm welcome to the food service was second to none. So friendly and lovely during our entire stay. And the food. Wow. The dinner was absolutely amazing- really top class and the breakfast also superb. And all set in beautiful grounds.

This place is very special. Beautiful place and the rooms are quaint and comfortable. Feels like going back in time. The staff were very sweet as well.

the staff is fabulous, the grounds and the castle are a fairy tale setting. the dinner at the castle is lovely. portions are small, but all very good. the rooms are nice and clean. breakfast is a treat.

the dinner portions could have been larger. guests should know there is no lift to get to the rooms.

Le moment magique passé dans un authentique château écossais, le café au coin du feu, la vue sur le loch depuis notre fenêtre et depuis la salle de petit déjeuner, le magnifique parc aux arbres impressionnants donnant sur le loch … et le propriétaire des lieux un homme charmant avec qui il est agréable de discuter. Merci Donald pour ce moment hors du temps… nous étions tristes de partir.

Amazing place, just beautiful! Room very cozy with a sweet provençal decorations, spacious with updated bathroom, above expectations. BReakfast not buffet, everything personal and very well taken care of. Overall, the best hotel we stayed, loved it!!!!

Just the location is difficult to find, specially at night, maybe more signs on the road. but its also good that it was "hidden" in the woods, making it very quite and beautiful.

I stayed for 2 nights in September 2025. What an amazing hotel. Every member of staff was extremely friendly, the breakfast was excellent. This was a modern hotel but with the character and charm of authentic Scotland.

Gorgeous hotel with laods of history including castle ruins on property. The loch walk was beautiful and peaceful and there are options for row boat rental or fishing if you are keen. Breakfast was ample and tasty however the evening meal we rated average to a little disappointing especially for the price. That being said food options in the area are limited so we will probably do the dinner again on our next stay.

Clean room and great service

This place is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful room, library, lounge, gardens, reception area, and dining room. The beds were comfortable and we all slept very well. The breakfast was included and SO good. You could order anything you wanted off the menu and we enjoyed it all!

There is no hot water in the castle. This was kind of disappointing. So If you like a hot shower or bath after a cold and rainy day in Scotland, I would have to tell you not to stay here.

Everything was perfect. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The room was amazing, I loved the view and the ambience. Breakfast was excellent and the staff couldn't have been better.

Superbe hôtel, très élégant et chaleureux. Très beaux salons, bibliothèques, pour prendre le thé, boire une guines ou déguster un whisky bien sûr, assis dans des canapés très confortables, moelleux. Cet hôtel château a une âme ! Si vous voulez plonger dans l'atmosphère écossaise, c est le lieu ! Très beaux jardins bien entretenus qui donnent en contrebas directement sur le Loch Lochy. Le décors est magnifique ! Côté restauration,Le pdj est copieux. Le menu pour le soir change tous les soirs. 40£ pour entrée/plat ou plat/dessert. C est bon. Je recommande cet établissement pour un très joli moment d évasion, dans un très beau décors dans le calme absolu, en pleine nature en bord de loch.

A unique, high quality property, quiet and serene, the location is beautifully set in the mountains and lakes of the Highlands. In house fine dining, the food, presentation and service are very well done. A great base to explore the area or just relax and decompress in the natural beauty.

Ich übernachte regelmässig in sehr vielen Hotels. Wenn doch nur alle so wären wie dieses hier! In Familienbesitz und von diesen auch selber geführt. Sehr viel Stil, aufmerksames Personal, Top-Lage, überdurchschnittlich gutes Essen in schöner Umgebung, Details die stimmen, genügend Parkplätze. Ungewöhnlich sauber für Schottland. Ich war vor 10 Jahren schon mal hier und es ist immer noch genau gleich toll. Im Verhältnis zum Gebotenen ist der Preis absolut fair. Kompliment.
