We had an truly unforgettable stay at this beautiful hotel. The location is ideal: peaceful and relaxing, yet convenient for reaching Sorrento’s city center and the train station, perfect for day trips to Pompeii and Herculaneum. The building, a restored ancient convent, retains all its historic charm while blending in refined, modern details. The outdoor areas are a little gem—impeccably manicured gardens and a lovely pool, perfect for recharging after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was a real treat: rich and varied, with hot dishes made to order, and always served with great kindness. However, what truly makes this place special is the staff. Attentive, smiling, and helpful at all times, they made us feel welcomed as friends rather than just guests. It was a stay to remember, and I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone looking for an experience of charm, relaxation, and sincere hospitality.
This B&B was surprising. Exceptionally clean and comfortable with a bar and excellent breakfast. The location is great. Beautiful gardens and pool. The staff were what was most memorable. Olga at the front desk was a huge help with anything I needed including helping me plan transportation to my next destination. This was a great stay in Sorrento.
We are just back from a 6 night stay in this brilliant hotel, the best I have stayed in. Everything is kept super clean and decorated tastefully. The beds were extremely comfortable and the shower was powerful. My teenagers stayed in a bunk room which was also very comfortable. The location is great being just outside Sorrento, it is quieter and a bit more authentic. Nearby restaurants and bakery were better value for money too and didn’t have a tourist trap feel. The hotel offers a daily shuttle into Sorrento and back which was so useful, we walked it some days though and it only takes about 25 minutes. The hotel is 2 minutes walk to the train station which was convenient for Pompei and Naples. The breakfast was superb, cooked to order and plenty of options. The staff at this hotel are something else, the best customer service ever!! As well as being generally welcoming and helpful they went out of their way to help with things like bus/train/ferry information, directions, restaurants etc. We had one tiny issue with our shower plughole not draining and this was sorted out within half an hour whilst we were having breakfast! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
A truly delightful hotel for our week long stay. Everything was amazing from the quiet location just far enough from Sorrento centre but near to the rail station to facilitate the trips to Pompeii and Herculaneumn. We loved the way the former convent had been tastefully renovated leaving it's history intact. The gardens and the pool were a quiet, pretty oasis. Breakfast was everything we could wish for, hot dishes freshly cooked to order and served with a smile. However, the 'icing on the cake' was the staff, they all went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and despite it being 'end of season' they were all pleasant, helpful and smiling all the time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Well what can I say? This is probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in ever!!! 10 out of 10 for service from the staff, lovely decor, everything was catered for, a small and friendly hotel close to everything in Sorrento and the surrounding area. The hotel provided a shuttle service, which was also very good. Pack up breakfast was also provided on the day we had an early flight and on days we were on trips. Infact the front of house staff sorted out so much for us during our stay and must say a particular thank you to Venere, who made the most wonderful coffees and made sure we had dinner on our return from a day trip. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a fabulous stay.
The hotel is stylish. We really liked its design. Common areas and the garden is beautiful. It is very close to the train station. They also offer shuttle to Sorrento. Overall good experience.
Je recommande absolument. Service impeccable, très propre et bon déjeuner d’inclus. Nous avons adoré le service aller-retour de navettes vers le centre-ville. L’anglais des employés est très bon et communication rapide avec whatsapp. 10/10
Excellent property and staff!
Amazing stay! Very friendly and helpful staff! Rooms and the grounds were super clean and well taken care of. Food /breakfast all fantastic!!
The location is a short walk from the train station. The neighborhood is walkable with stores and restaurants nearby. Excellent service from the staff.
We stayed at this hotel for a week in September. The hotel is very clean and well kept. It is smaller hotel in a nice quiet area. The garden and pool are lovely, so much better than staying in a large hotel. There is also a shuttle to and from Sorrento that runs regularly. The Sant' Agnello train station is only a couple of minutes walk and that gives you access to Sorrento/Naples etc too. The best thing of all were all the staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble for any of them and they were always willing to help in any way they could. Excellent stay and would definitely stay here again!
This hotel is wonderful. Very clean and well kept. Nestled down some small streets it is very quiet, away from the busy roads. The garden and pool are both lovely and different from the large commercial hotels. The food and drink were very good and well priced. There is a shuttle to and from Sorrento or the Sant' Agnello train station is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. From here you can go to Sorrento or Pompei, Naples etc. The best thing of all are the lovely, helpful and welcoming staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble for any of them. Always willing to help. We would definitely stay here again!
The hotel was lovely, and although close to Sorrento, it was not easy travelling back and forth. The hotel does offer a limited shuttle service, and there is a frequent train service, which could be useful to some guests. However, given that we were heading to the ferry many days, it was more convenient to walk than use the shuttle or train.
One night but we woud recommand to friends going to Sorrento
Everything about this hotel was superb from the decor to the staff and the lovely gardens. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff - one example we had an early start one morning and a packed breakfast was ready at Reception without even asking. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
My fiancée and I had the most amazing experience at Unconventional Sorrento. From the moment we stepped in, we felt the real peaceful atmosphere of the place and were greeted warmly by the reception. Our room with the sea view over the bay and Vesuvius along with the balcony was spectacular. The bed was incredibly comfortable, we slept well every night. Breakfast was a real treat and freshly made with ingredients from their garden. The area surrounding the pool was extremely relaxing. Sant’Agnello station was only a 3 minute walk and the shuttle to Sorrento main town was really convenient. Staff were very attentive and extremely helpful with directions and information on the area. We highly recommend staying here and will definitely be returning.
Wow, what a beautiful place to stay! We have just spent 7 wonderful nights at this hotel in room 115. All of the staff were fantastic, very professional and friendly. The room was very spacious with a huge double bed, clean and welcoming, beds made and clean towels when required. The fully working aircon system was super quiet, we could hardly hear it and it was very cool. Lots of choice on the breakfast menu, would recommend the poached egg and fruit bowel. We also made use of the snack menu when we stayed around the pool, this time I would recommend the Bruschetta, lovely! The garden and pool area is an oasis and very relaxing. The pool is very clean and the garden is amazing with lemon and lime trees a plenty. The hotel provides pool towels on request. We made use of the 10 euro transfer which was very useful. You can message the hotel if your out in Sorrento and if available, they will pick you up at a selected time. The latest we were collected was around 9.45pm. Location is a 2 minute walk from the train station, which we used for trains to Pompeii and into Naples. Sorrento is a pleasant 30 min walk using the back streets, but look out for scooter riders! All said, Unconventional Sorrento is one of the best hotels which we have stayed in. Absolutely perfect in every way possible. Oh, I must mention the view from our bathroom window of Mount Vesuvius, it was stunning to see at any time of the day! Thank you to everyone at Unconventional Sorrento, we loved it!
Small cooking experience with Madda & Miguele This was one of our best experiences! Madda & Miguele Were welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating to us. They were excellent hosts and teachers in the craft of Italian cooking. We made sauce, ravioli, gnocchi, tiramisu, bruschetta , drank wine and lemon spritzers . They kept adding dishes to the menu to either make or taste! I would highly recommend this event! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Unconventional Sorrento is a lovely hotel. The grounds are beautiful and well looked after. The pool is small but great for a cool off and a few strokes. We had orange and lemon trees for our parasols. There are 2 large terraces with very comfortable seating. Our room was very comfortable with modern decor and fittings. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. A fabulous, relaxing stay and would 100% recommend. So glad we found this place, an oasis and a super place to stay just away from the busy centre of Sorrento (use the shuttle, well worth 10 euros for the week)
Well, what can i say. The Unconventional is simply a wonderful Hotel. A short walk from the station and you are immersed in Italian luxury. Only a few minutes stroll to the sea front and restaurants, the hotel is in a fantastic position. The staff are kind, considerate and attentive. The hotel is spotless and the views from our room were stunning. Breakfast is all freshly made and the coffees are exceptional. The little buggy service the hotel provides, to Sorrento is a fantastic touch. Thank you, for a great stay.
We had a really wonderful stay at the hotel - felt very unique, beautiful rooms, very lovely and helpful staff, great location and family feel. Would highly recommend.
Venere is the most amazing sweetest hostess I ever had!! She is patient, hard working and helped us with everything we needed. She definitely is a 5 star employee!!
Loved the attention to detail and hospitality at this hotel. They always made us feel so welcomed and the hotel is in a charming location. The room was well kept and spotless.
Exceeds expectations!!! This hotel was chosen by our tour operator but we couldn’t be happier! The staff are so accommodating, the breakfast is wonderful and the surroundings are perfect! Verena (? apologies if name is spelt incorrectly) was so lovely, friendly and helpful in the bar. Highly recommended 5 star service!!! Check in was great, very informative and every whim catered for. Not too far from Sorrento but lovely and quiet with the handy hotel shuttle into town a godsend.
We had a fantastic experience at Unconventional Sorento and would very highly recommend this place to other guests who wish to visit the region! All members of staff were very welcoming, very courteous, available for advice and help at all times. For a first time visitor to the region, they provide lot of local info and help you plan your trips. Rooms are spacious, cleaned everyday and the breakfast is freshly made everyday using local produce, tasty and prompt service! They have a nice small pool outside, some green surroundings and very close to St.Agnelles train station. This is certainly an option to consider rather than stay in Sorrento centre which you reach within 5 min of local train travel. Likewise, easier to travel to Pompeii and nearby attractions. We stayed 4 nights at the place and throughly enjoyed our stay and visit to the region! Anoop family
And relax....my friend and I stayed here for 5 nights. The moment you walk in you cannot help but feel a sense if calm. The garden and pool was very peaceful. The pool is more of a dip pool, but refreshing never too busy. They could do with a few more sunbeds, but we were there are peak season. Nearby restaurants worth a visit are Alfred's, absolutely delicious food and a classy environment, reasonably priced. Il Ruttino, great for pizza, pasta etc. Very close to the train station and bus stops. Highly recommend.
Venere is SO SWEEET. We loved her, super helpful, nice always drawing hearts in our coffees. 5 stars ⭐️ the hotel super good and the staff also !
I read the reviews about the hotel and did not read one bad one .Well the place stood up to the great reviews and beyond. The staff could not do enough for us nothing to hard the place was spotless. The pool was small but just perfect to cool down also very close to the train station. Thank you to all the staff.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The property is absolutely gorgeous, the staff are amazing and very friendly, and they provided us with some fantastic recommendations for the surrounding area when we asked! The breakfast that is included was amazing and much nicer than we anticipated for a free hotel breakfast. It was only about a 5 minute walk to the train station and grocery store, and a 30 minute walk into Sorrento.
Small Hotel, lovely setting with a natural pool. Staff are fabulous, very helpful, providing recommendations for dining and trips. Amazing breakfast, lots of choice. Well situated very close to train station. We booked a deluxe room with balcony, views were spectacular. Would recommend
A wonderful small hotel, situated in an ideal spot. Close enough to the centre of Sorrento without being in the hustle & bustle of it all. The hotel is spotless both inside & around the gardens and pool area. The staff are wonderful, so friendly, helpful & professional. Lovely spacious bedrooms & bathrooms. Overall, a great stay!
Excellent staff, Excellent service, Excellent food, Very accommodating, Very clean Hotel…. List will go on. Overall great experience
We had a great time at Unconventional Sorrento. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. They gave us every bit of information we requested and even sent follow up messages via WhatsApp. Hearing the choir practice in the church opposite on one of the days when we walked to dinner was magical. The food at breakfast is amazing! We particularly loved the cake of the day, the homemade marmalade, homemade jam and pancakes. The waiters and waitresses at breakfast were so kind and approachable. Our triple room was very clean, spacious and well appointed. The shampoo, hand wash and shower gel smelled amazing! The pool was great for an evening cool off and my daughter and I loved the yoga session in the garden! The fact that the train station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel is a winner! We went to Pompeii and it took about 30 minutes. The entrance to Pompeii is next to the train station so you don't have anywhere to walk when you arrive. Loved the hotel and our short stay in Sant'Agnello. We ate in 4 different local restaurants that the staff in the hotel recommended (all within easy reach by foot) and they were all fantastic.
We had the best stay here; if you are looking to relax and get away from the crowds, this is the place for you. The place is quaint but super clean and presentable with a small but stunning and peaceful garden and pool as well as unique and charming interior design. The staff are also very welcoming and accommodating to needs, including travel arrangements. The breakfast here is absolutely delicious with a wide variety of options from fresh cakes and fruits to interesting salads and savoury options. Truly a spectacular place with an atmosphere like no other; do not hesitate booking this beautiful hotel!
We felt extremely comfortable during our stay. The staff is wonderful, breakfast and snacks are delicious, the garden is particularly beautiful and the hotel is very clean. Communication was super easy via WhatsApp. I definitly recommend staying at Unconventional! Thank you to the entire staff for creating such a wonderful atmosphere!
From the moment we arrived we were blown away. The moment you walk through the doors you’re met with a sense of calm. This hotel exceeded every expectation and truly made our trip unforgettable. The staff were genuinely warm, helpful and incredibly accommodating. Nothing was ever too much trouble and their passion for hospitality shines through in everything they do. They could teach a masterclass in customer service! The grounds are absolutely stunning. Serene, peaceful and immaculately kept. The garden and pool area felt like a hidden oasis as it was so quiet and calming. The pool is designed more for relaxation than swimming which suited us perfectly. We loved that produce used in the bar and restaurant is grown onsite in the garden!! The breakfast each morning was a dream. It was cooked to order and delicious. You can order as much as you like and the French toast in particular was out of this world! On the day we had an early trip booked they prepared a breakfast to go which was so appreciated. Our room was simply breathtaking!! Spacious, stylish and so beautifully designed. The high wooden beams, decor and luxurious bathroom made it feel more like a boutique retreat than a hotel. The location is just outside central Sorrento which we absolutely loved as it was peaceful and away from the crowds but with an easy, convenient shuttle service into town. In the evenings we loved returning to enjoy a drink in the courtyard and was the perfect way to unwind and escape the crowds of Sorrento. But above all, it was the people who made this hotel so special. Thank you to the incredible team for making our trip so sensational. You’ve set a new standard for hospitality and we can’t wait to return and will recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Fabulous hotel, everything excellent, and staff friendly and helpful. Very clean, the room had a safe and fridge, and the hotel had a nice bar serving food and drinks. Felt safe walking in the area, although the driving is quite scary, so if walking into Sorrento take the route that doesn’t go along the main road. Train station is very close but we found the trains to be quite unreliable, with delays and cancellations, which can be a problem if you have activities booked or dinner reservations. Maybe we were just unlucky but there was an issue each time we used the trains. Including a full cancellation of trains the day we were returning from Pompeii. We luckily shared a taxi back with 6 other people but it still cost €25 per head for the shared journey. Taxis are expensive, so you want to take advantage of the hotel electric shuttle or be prepared to walk as we did. Plenty places locally to eat. Would strongly recommend Lapillo, just a few minutes walk from the hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was the most friendliest I have ever encoutered in a hotel, all of them, no exceptions. I really liked that you can reach them via whatsapp really fast. The location is a bit secluded from Sorrento which is also nice as it is quiet area with less tourists. There are some restaurants and grocery store nearby though. You can also use their own shuttle service to reach Sorrento. Room was nice, nothing to complain about it. AC worked well. I enjoyed their breakfast, it was done only for you, and I thought there were many options. Only minus that I can think of was the takeaway breakfast as it was practically water bottle and small sandwhich. I wish there would have been at least few options to choose from. For example I would have skipped the dessert and just switched it to a fruit or a cup of coffee.
We loved our stay at Unconventional. The hotel felt like a luxury 5 star resort. The staff were so kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and very generous. Despite being slightly outside Sorrento it is very easy to get in. Can’t recommend this hotel enough.
Such an amazing stay. Very easy to find, right next to a station which is accessible from pompeii or Napoli. Staff were very friendly. They run a shuttle service into Sorrento town - 10euro each for as many shuttles as you want during your stay. Very clean rooms and a great breakfast each morning.
The Unconventional Hotel has perhaps the very best customer service I have ever experienced! The staff are kind and the communication amazing. They go above and beyond to recommend restaurants, help with tickets and trains, and have a lovely shuttle into Sorrento. The location is perfection! A quiet small square a few minutes' walk from the train station. Lovely and quiet. The garden and pool a calm and meditative and the breakfast is phenomenal--delicious, fresh, and beautiful.
This is such an amazing little gem. So relaxing and Italian! The staff are so helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. The whole place smells amazing and the breakfast was a delight. I’ve never tasted French toast as good. It’s unlike any hotel I’ve stayed in before as it was small and very relaxing . The location was perfect for us - near local transport and walking distance to Sorrento central. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing stay with plenty of restaurants to choose from and quiet bars to sit a relax in the evenings.
Oh my, where do I even begin! This hotel is situated in Sant’ Agnello which is 2km away from Sorrento and to me - is the best little gem to stay in. The area is quiet, peaceful and has tons of amenities. Theres a grocery store on the corner, restaurants (which are WAY cheaper than eating in Sorrento) a pharmacy close by, and the train station is legit 100 steps away. This hotel to me is literally almost like an all inclusive. You walk into a beautiful place that has a pool, garden area, lobby/TV lounge, bar/kitchen area, an office/computer area, fitness area, and more! Breakfast is included and it’s hot, fresh and should I mention I think the best French toast I’ve had? Again, if you don’t wish to leave then they have the bar/kitchen area opened all day. All the staff are extremely friendly (shoutout to Kiera!!!! The sweetest!!! Hope I spelt that right!) and connecting with them through whatsapp is so convenient. Especially coming from someone who hates phone calls. If you wish to visit Sorrento they do have a shuttle service that runs until 10pm every day and yes it only runs at certain times but who cares? Just plan your day around it and if that doesn’t work again, the train station is legit 100 steps away. The shuttle is fast and drops you right in the middle. Some tips I have is 1. At least in our room, the fridge was in the cupboard. We found when we left the cupboard door open the fridge worked amazing. I think it doesn’t have enough ventilation when it’s closed. 2. Yes the economy room is small and basic but they’ve integrated an open closet around the area so just utilize it correctly and you’ll be fine. 3. This isn’t the hotels problem, but if you have allergies come prepared!!! The humidity and the AC caused both of our allergies to flare up massively. I literally was so upset to leave and will be recommending this hotel for anyone that visits. I can’t wait to come back! Ciao! ❤️
We had a lovely experience during our stay. We booked two rooms for our family of four and it was perfect. Room sizes were small but adequate and we really enjoyed having a balcony and beautiful views of Mt Vesuvius. The hotel smelled wonderful and it was very clean. Breakfast each morning exceeded our expectations. Excellent variety of food and quality. The area is quiet and close to Sorrento. Some reviews say it’s an easy 20-30 min walk to Sorrento but it’s def longer. We did it once, in the heat and it was not enjoyable. Definitely recommend using the shuttle service or get a taxi/uber. The shuttle is quick but it only runs at certain times of the day which is a little inconvenient. Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel and would stay again.
Loved it here. The hotel far exceeded my expectations. It’s really cute, clean, great value for the money, and the staff were all wonderful. We stayed in one of the bunk bed rooms (which I was imagining would be awful) and it was great. I loved the pool and garden and the included breakfast. I highly recommend this place.
Wow what a hotel find!!! Fantastic place in a lovely location in Saint Agnello. The staff are extremely helpful and polite, nothibg is too much trouble. A great choice of food for breakfast. Lovely gardens and swimming pool. As we were going to miss breakfast due to early pickup a breakfast bag was prepared for us without asking, fantastic and welcomed. The hotel provided a shuttle to and from central Sorrento with extra trips that can also be arranged. €10 per person for entire stay, use as often as you like. Again a fantastic guy as a driver. If you are looking at this place and are thinking of staying, I say go for it you will not be disappointed. We will definitely go back.
Our private experience at this Italian cooking school was outstanding! Our hostess Maddalena gave us a beautiful tour of their gardens and our chef Michele was welcoming and extremely knowledgeable in the techniques and recipes that we created. We were treated like family and friends all day and enjoyed their company. The food we made was delicious and easy to prepare. We have taken many cooking classes in the past, but this one was so special because of their friendly and outgoing personalities. We enjoyed the food we prepared and have made lifelong connections with Maddie and Michele.
What can I say about our stay at the Unconventional Hotel in Sorrento - it was magnificent!!! The beauty of the hotel and grounds made us feel welcome and special. But it was our hostess, Ciara (I hope I am spelling that correctly) that made our stay the best in all of our travels through out Italy. She helped us through travel issues and logistics problems that were our own making and saved our trip. And the Negronis she concocted were excellent :) To anyone travelling to Sorrento - come to this hotel for the gardens and accommodations and because Ciara will make your stay special. Thank you Ciara!!!!!
A very nice hotel, with attentive staff and a decent room. Unfortunately I didn't have time to visit the gardens/swimming pool because I was always out and about. But overally it was a great experience. There's a lovely breakfast selection - The first day I tried the croissant with a tiramisu-type filling, and the cake of the day, also some homemade orange marmalade using oranges from their garden. The next day I tried the mozzarella in carrozza, like a fried sandwich, which was surprisingly nice as a breakfast item. The coffees were very nice too, however the hot chocolate was pretty bad, so I'd say stick with the coffee selection. The staff were happy to help advise for taking buses to Positano/Amalfi and also sell the tickets, rather than having to go to a tabbaccheria which I imagine is quite convenient for most people. On our last day there was a train strike, which didn't affect us, but it was nice to see the staff had put a notice up at the desk to make it very clear to all their guests. They offer a shuttle for a one-off €10 fee per person that lasts the duration of the stay to take you to Sorrento - personally I didn't go for it as I was only staying a couple of nights, but the walk to Sorrento isn't so pleasant, so I certainly would use the shuttle in future. My only small issues were: - The AC - It worked well once it was on, but the panel was very non-receptive so it took many attempts to turn it on/off (room 301) - The top bed would make quite a bit of noise whenever the person moved in it, which I think is just because there's the metal bed frame hitting the metal bunk frame. I would recommend adding some padding around the edges of the bed frame to reduce this issue But I reiterate that these were very minor things, overall my stay was great, probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in!
We stayed for a week in April at the Unconventional Sorrento with our two teenagers. It was a superb experience; the hotel is perfectly positioned in a lovely old part of Sant’ Agnello near to the train station and a supermarket, as well as lovely restaurants such as Alfred’s Modern Trattoria (a huge recommend) and Mi Ami. Our room was spacious and always super clean, with a big terrace. The breakfast was always delicious, with a big range of treats, and the staff were to a person helpful and friendly. The shuttle was a great way to get to and from Sorrento. The building is characterful and quiet, and facing a beautiful religious building. It was a magical base while we explored the wonderful town of Sorrento as well as Pompeii, Herculaneum, Capri and the Amalfi Coast. Grazie mile!
We stayed for a week as a family of four with teenage daughters and chose a large bedroom with an adjoining lounge area that had a double sofa bed and a very spacious terrace. It worked perfectly for us. Breakfast was a great mix of cooked and cold options, all made to order and absolutely delicious. There was also a daily “cake of the day,” which was a lovely touch. The staff were all marvellous—friendly, attentive, and very helpful throughout our stay. We also used the hotel’s shuttle service, which added a bit of fun to the experience! There’s a train station just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, with tickets to Sorrento costing only €1.50 one way. However, the train was very crowded when we tried it, so we relied on the hotel shuttle whenever we could. The location is outside of Sorrento, which for us was one of the hotel’s biggest attractions. After a day of navigating the busy crowds in town, it was lovely to return to somewhere more peaceful. The area seemed to have more of a local feel, which we really enjoyed—it was a welcome escape from the full-on tourist scene. We tried some local takeaway delicacies at Mi Ami and also Il Buon Boccone, which were both fantastic. The hotel’s shuttle service into Sorrento (offered for a small extra cost) was both efficient and very reasonably priced.
A brilliant hotel and experience from start to finish. We stayed for four nights and had a large room with balcony which also had a very comfortable large bed. Breakfast was great with a selection of cold and cooked breakfasts all made to order. Each day there was a cake of the day all of which were superb. The staff were so helpful and arranged bookings for us at local eating places. A particular mention to Chiara who made our stay go so smoothly. The location is very quiet and a little out of Sorrento itself, but they provide a shuttle service into town at a small addition cost which was both very reasonable and efficient. Highly recommended.
This hotel is in the perfect location to visit all the sought after locations. We stayed for 3 nights and visited Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and Capri by ferry. We did a tour of Pompeii and Vesuvius in the same day which we booked prior to leaving the UK and I would recommend doing this as it’s very difficult to navigate Pompeii without being on a tour. It also saves time. Tour was from Sorrento. The train station is a 5 minute walk away and the hotels golf buggy is brilliant (was one of the highlights for our 11 year old) to easily get into Sorrento (as is the train, just one stop away). The hotel is full of character with beautiful grounds. The breakfast is lovely, freshly cooked and the staff work very hard to provide a lovely atmosphere in the mornings. If you’re going on an early trip they will pack breakfast up for you which is very organised. The only problem we faced in regards to the hotel was the central heating system. When we arrived we were told the air conditioning was not working and to open the windows. The staff politely apologised and agreed the room was very warm. We did open the windows but it was incredibly noisy and we could not sleep. I think we were especially unlucky as due to Easter they had an event at 4am with a band playing during the early hours right outside our room for the church. Generally people outside making noise through the night, every night. We did talk to hotel staff as the room was 27 degrees!!! We were told that the hotels manager was aware of the problem and it was due to the central heating being set for the colder months and not yet switched over to allow the air conditioning to work. There was no way to control this in the rooms. Unfortunately this was still the same when we left. We really felt this spoilt our time in the hotel as it was too uncomfortable to sleep with the windows closed and too loud with the windows open. We plan to visit again and would absolutely return to this hotel (we will check ahead that the air con is working next time). The staff make this hotel, they are so friendly and helpful. Always greeting you warmly and helping you with any queries. They clearly work very hard and we thank them for a lovely a lovely mini break in Sorrento.
The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The hotel was very clean, beautifully decorated and warm and welcoming. We had a beautiful view from our room which was spacious and well organized. Th hotel provided a free shuttle to downtown Sorrento area which took about 10-15 minutes. They also provided a great breakfast every morning with numerous options.
Situated perfectly to experience an authentic local vibe but only a stone throw away from the train station and local eateries to whisk us into the hub bub of Sorrento centre or Pompeii. Truly a haven of calm and tranquility, with the service and rooms and facilities exactly what we were looking for, over a long weekend. Big thanks to Gianmarco for such unfaltering service, whatever our requests. The room was well proportioned, with all the key facilities that we needed to be truly comfortable. The decor was tastefully done, with some cheeky eccentric touches, you wouldn't see at those boring international chains. Rarely can I offer an unconditional recommendation for a stay at an "unconventional" but this place smashed it. Definitely will return in the coming years. Oh, and loved the late evening Limoncello !
The staff here was very friendly and helpful! The room was very minimalistic, but good value for price. Very clean, and we had nice views from our windows. It is a pretty far walk to the town center of Sorrento, but they offer a shuttle service you can pre-book times on. Would stay here again!
This hotel is a must! Location; perfect, quiet and away from main road. Staff; friendly and accommodating. Breakfast; just don’t miss it-choice and quality of food Cleanliness; spotless everywhere Hotel provide a shuttle service if you don’t fancy the 10min walk into Sorrento. The walk through typical Italian streets to Sorrento is a must though😊. Rail station is a two min walk away. Nothing bad about this hotel, we had a wonderful stay. Can definately recommend and we would most certainly return .
My daughter and I absolutely LOVED staying at this hotel. Everything was wonderful! The staff was accommodating, the breakfast was delicious. The hotel was lovely and clean. Beautiful garden too. Thank you Unconventional Sorrento! KCoker
Great stay
Great stay! It smells so good in there. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The break is incredible and served to order. There is AC in the rooms and great garden and common area. So close to train station. Peaceful and wonderful taste of Sorrento. Loved our stay.
Loved our stay at this hotel! Very well renovated, comfortable room, lots of space. Large bathroom. Beautiful pool and garden. Very close to train station and a 30 minute walk to Sorrento main square. Hotel offers a shuttle (large golf cart) to Sorrento however seems a bit overpriced unless going to use it a lot.
Excellent! Would stay again. Far walk from stuff but they have a shuttle. Free delicious breakfast!
The hotel was not fancy but very comfortable. Staff went out of their way to help us. It was easy to communicate in person or by WhatsApp.
Amazing staff who were super friendly and helpful!
Thank you to the wonderful staff!
This hotel might be rated three star, but in our minds, it is a five star. All the staff are so friendly, approachable and helpful. They immediately make you feel at home and will ensure you have a very comfortable stay. The hotel itself is in a perfect location, easily within reach of Sorrento with a 30 minute walk, or 10 minutes with the use of the shuttle service provided by Antonio for only 10 Euros per person per stay for as many rides as you want! Transport further afield is readily available; the train station literally 3 mins walk for trips to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples. Buses from the town plaza only 5mins away. The location also means it is a quiet, relaxing place and the rooms are very comfortable as is the outside space of a terrace, garden and pool. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone.
This hotel was perfect for a short stay in Sorrento, located along a quiet lane, but close to shops and restaurants (Alfred’s was excellent, 1 min walk). It is a 2 min walk to the train station or 25mins ish walk into the centre. Hotel and room were spotless clean and very comfy bed and pillows. The gardens and pool were a lovely relaxing space and the free pool towels a bonus.. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good too. We really enjoyed our stay, would recommend and return. We loved it.
What a superb hotel, the staff are all excellent, all speak English and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are of a high standard and the facilities are excellent. My overall impression of this hotel is how peaceful it is, so relaxing. It is two minutes from a train station and the hotel lays on a golf buggy to take you in to Sorrento and will pick you up too, fantastic for having a night out n Sorrento. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and can’t wait to come back some day. We had done a 3 centre trip and this was the middle stop (5 nights). We were heading to Sicily after and had to get an early bus back to Naples airport- the hotel laid on a packed breakfast for us at 6am to take with us - that’s the level of service they deliver. Awesome!
Fantastic Hotel, very very friendly and helpful staff - went above and beyond on all areas of service. Gino (chef) truly amazing as were others. Would highly recommend this hotel. Beautiful landscaping of Lemon / Olive trees, rosemary and lavender along walking paths with pool. Lovely and felt very authentic to the area.
Disappointed the experience, felt more like a hostel than a hotel. Walls in room were very marked up, shower was tiny and did not drain properly. During a 3 night stay they did not clean our room once (only made the beds), had to ask front desk for fresh towels.
Pool was closed which is why we booked hotel. Recommend restaurant turned us away at 7 pm early. Air conditioning was broken
While we appreciated the proximity to train and that the Sorrento stop was only one stop away and about 3 minutes long. But the two stations are third world and the Sorrento stop is still a 10 minute walk to the main Piazzo. Hotel offers an electric cart shuttle which can hold five passengers but runs on the hour out and half back although it is only a ten minute ride. You need to reserve a seat and it books quickly so it is not easy to get a ride on it. Next option is a taxi which is 25 or 30 euro; right it’s about 2 km and very controlled and very expensive rate by local govt and the one service that the hotel will call which BTW does not take credit cards. If we knew all this we would have opted for a more expensive hotel in Sorrento. I will say the cart driver, Antonio, was an absolute joy to ride with (when we were lucky enough to get a reservation which was maybe 1/3 of the trips we had to make to/from Sorrento. We were there for four days.
beautiful and quiet and very centric
Clean, comfortable hotel, walking distance from the Sant’Agnello station. Friendly and helpful staff
The hotel is located in a quiet area.
Amazing and helpful stuff.
Lovely boutique hotel 15 mins walk from seaside dining, shopping and excursions. Take a walk in any direction and you’ll find something new to explore! Above all, the staff were absolutely wonderful and the included breakfast was a nice bonus! Pool and grounds will be ready for summer.
Very nice hotel, good location and not too difficult yo find!
I can’t say enough great things about this place! It’s clean safe has a great breakfast included, it’s in a beautiful little town close to Sorrento but quieter and very quaint, 3 min walk to train station, and the staff could not have been any nicer or more helpful. And very affordable great value. Def would stay again!
I am definitely going to recommend Unconventional Sorrento to my friends and family when I get home! The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the check in was very quick when we arrived. There was a lot of selection at breakfast, service was quick and you could order as much as you’d like. The room was clean when we arrived and was cleaned everyday of our stay. The hotel is an excellent location, very close to the train station (~2 minute walk) which we used to get everywhere (if you fancy a walk, it takes ~20 mins to walk to sorrento). The hotel offers a shuttle to and from sorrento for €10 but we found it was better value for money (due to the length of our stay and the walking distance to sorrento ) to get the train. Thank you for making mine and my boyfriend’s first holiday to sorrento a wonderful and memorable experience, will definitely be staying here again if we return to sorrento! :)
My stay at the unconventional inn was the absolute best! I want to primarily thank Gian Marco, Magdalena, Angela, and foremost, Antonio for being the best driver to and from the hotel. This place is a hidden gem, about a 20 minute walk outside of downtown Sorrento, which is easily accessible with the shuttle that Antonio drives. The staff were incredibly helpful with any questions we had about day trips, transportation, and just anything to do with our trip in general. The breakfast, which was included in our stay was incredible every morning, and we have Chiro thank for that. The hotel and the room were incredibly clean and although we had a bunkbed room, it didn’t really make a difference in terms of size because it was so clean and so well maintained. Overall, our stay at the Unconventional Inn was a trip to remember, and we will for sure be coming back!
The staff goes well and beyond to make you feel welcome. They are very friendly and courteous. Definitely recommend this place to anyone
Place is absolutely perfect, staff is extremely nice and tentative to any issue you might run into.
Great location only 3 mins away from the train station which gets you into Sorrento in 2 mins or to Naples in just over an hour. Would highly recommend for couples and smaller groups. Breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful and polite.
The room with bunk beds had NO sound proofing between the rooms as we could hear normal talking and the tv in the next room.
Hotel was very clean, and customer service was really great! About a 20 min walk to central Sorrento. Hotel accommodations with ferry service, tours, shuttle service and private transfers.
We absolutely loved our stay at Unconventional!! Every single staff member went above and beyond to help us with transportation, recommendations, and any accommodation we needed. It was a little far for walking to the center of Sorrento, but was enjoyable. We had an amazing stay and will definitely be back!
Located in a quiet area near the train station. Excellent customer service, nice breakfast selections and close to Sorrento.
We have received a room with a bunk bed/. This is totally misleading. Ir was not clear during the reservation we had to leave and pay for another hotel
Great location, wonderful breakfast, clean, and with very friendly staff!
The hotel was disappointing, not as described on the website, we got an "upgraded" room on the 3rd floor without an elevator, which is hard to call an upgraded room. It was not stated that there is no car access to the hotel and the parking lot was about 400 meters from the hotel
Location was quiet and quaint. The feel when you walk in is light and airy. Property is unique. The staff was very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was good.would definitely recommend.
Very nice hotel, great staff. Nice enough location, convenient to Sorrento and train access and some nice casual dining close by. Please note a larger van can note get to the doorway. Your get dropped off about 100 yards away. It’s nothing to worry about, it’s a quiet area. Trains from Naples to Sorrento are scary, avoid if possible, but this hotel is an easy enough walk into town. Beds are on the firm side.
Very clean staff friendly but the distance with luggage is inconvenient
This hotel was Wonderful! The staff is simply AMAZING! So friendly and helpful. Very charming accommodations with a delightful breakfast each morning. They even surprised me with a Birthday Gift 💙
The design of the rooms is very efficient and pleasant. Breakfast is real food. Staff helped us print a document and made coffee at 5 am because we had to leave early for the airport. Would highly recommend.
Great hotel. Staff was super helpful. Was convenient to get to from Naples airport. Bus dropped us off 5 min from hotel. Safe, quiet, clean. Loved the breakfast. Very walkable to downtown Sorrento. Would definitely stay here again
Super place to stay. Good value, Fantastic breakfast. Clean. Lovely staff. Close to Sorrento!
We loved this hotel so much we planned one more night before we headed to Calabria. The staff is friendly and the hotel is gorgeous. Definitely a Place we will be heading back to in the future
The hotel was super clean, the staff were amazing - very helpful, breakfast was great! Very happy and highly recommend it! Location was perfect - near train station.
