The location worked for us - close to Penzance.

Rooms have clearly not been updated since they opened some years ago. Dirty pillows, inadequate pillow cases, no bath mat. Shower door failed to close. These are some examples.

Parking was good. Room was ok. Bed was comfortable. Good wifi

Bathroom was filthy and very smelly.

I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. The room had a terrible, unpleasant smell as soon as I walked in — it was really strong and disgusting, and never went away during my stay. The bed was very uncomfortable and I couldn’t rest properly. On top of that, the furniture was broken and in poor condition. It felt tired, neglected, and not at all what I expected. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to anyone.

"To be honest, this property wasn’t really to my liking. I paid over £75 for this and it was honestly such a waste. We travelled all the way from Birmingham, long journey, and were very tired. I even called ahead to let them know I’d be arriving late — check-in was 11pm and I got there just before 10:30pm — but when we arrived, the staff just ignored us. We were standing there waiting and they didn’t attend to us properly. That really upset me, especially after travelling so far. The room was no good either — it smelled really bad, the bed was uncomfortable, and furniture was broken. It felt like just a place to pass time, not a proper hotel. I couldn’t rest at all after such a long trip. Staff were okay when they finally did attend, but being ignored like that wasn’t nice. Definitely not worth the money and I won’t be coming back.

Sehr dreckig (Zimmer wie auch Bad und Toilette) inkl. der Handtücher, kaputte Elektrik, heruntergekommene und teils kaputte Möbel, Personal dem es egal zu sein scheint. Im Treppenhaus stinkt es nach altem Bier. Boden total verdreckt und klebrig.

The room stank of drains and was really quite dirty and badly maintained. There was a small table in the room that the surface was breaking up on, there were huge patches of mould on the back of the curtains. The bathroom cleanliness left a lot to be desired, all round the skirtings and sides of the shower tray are desperate for a scrub and every rung of the towel rail was thick with dust.

Er was een festival in het hotel en dat wisten we niet van te voren. Dit gaf veel geluidsoverlast in de kamer. We hadden een ventilator maar daar kwam viezigheid uit. Het was wel erg warm in de kamer. We hebben maar 1 handoek gekregen, zelfs na een keer vragen.

Comfortable bed with nice fresh linen. The staff were lovely but rushed off their feet. The shower worked well.

The room was damp and had mildew, and a horrible smell. The furniture was badly worn and grubby. The extractor fan in the bathroom was so dirty. The toilet seat did not fit the toilet pan. There was caked on dirt on the window frames. The paint on the walls were a bit flakey. There wasn't any hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels etc.

Good do with a bit of a tidy up in beer garden, cigarette ends, sweep up, furniture needs a face lift, good clear up of car park bin area, didn't feel loved.

Location in Hayle was OK, 25minute walk to a very nice Beach Bar with great food & drinks. The hotel did have its own bar which looked OK.

No cold water in the bathroom sink. The shower doors did not meet in the middle. Shower pressure is ok, but the bottom of the shower cubicle looked very grubby & could have done with a jet wash.

Some of the staffs attitude! Didn't realise when we booked the room there would be lots of very late noise outside.. 1st night this went on until 1.30 am.... was less soon night 2 or was it because we were so tired! (we were going to a funeral the Friday!) The shower was not as clean as we expected... dark hair in the shower.. we are both grey/white haied!! Couldn't open the bedroom window as it wouldn't stay open!

The DJ in the pub was very loud in the early evening (Saturday); the floor the room was on was very hot and the room was on teh main road so noisy.

I spent about 45 minutes there—I couldn't stay any longer.

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE – DO NOT STAY HERE I have never written a review this bad, but I feel a moral obligation to warn anyone considering booking a room here. Calling this place a "hotel" is a massive stretch. It felt more like a psychological experiment in how much discomfort a human can take. Here is a breakdown of the disaster: The Room was a Sauna I stayed here during an extreme heatwave. Not only was there no air conditioning, but the room heater was blasted on full blast and completely broken/unresponsive to turning it off. The room was easily a suffocating 40°C. Filthy and Broken. The walls were covered in disgusting stains and dirt. The furniture looked like it had been dragged out of a dumpster—cracked, chipped, and completely damaged. Not even the basics were covered. There wasn't a single towel in the bathroom. When you can't even get a towel to wipe the sweat off your face in a room that feels like a furnace, you know management has given up. The Absolute Worst Part? The Staff. The front desk staff could not have cared less. When I explained that my room was dangerously hot and filthy, they just shrugged. But the crown jewel of awful service goes to the manager. When I finally tracked them down, they were completely dismissive, rude, and entirely uninterested in solving a single problem. Zero accountability, zero empathy, and zero customer service. This place is a health hazard and a total rip-off. Do yourself a favor: sleep in your car, sleep on a park bench, but do not stay here.

Central location, very clean room and ensuite. Mattress was very comfortable and I believe new. Hot water very hot and instant.

Roim very hot - only had an ild fan . Noise of road, heavy doors that slammed, no cleaning of room or emptying bin in the 5 days I was there. Is fine for an overnight stop. Not so good for extended stay.

A positive aspect, despite the room, was the bathroom. It was large and generous, with a spacious shower. Unfortunately, it was the only good thing about the hotel.

Before booking, I was aware that the hotel was part of a pub, which was advertised as closing at 11:00 PM. I expected some noise until around 11:30 PM or midnight, and I accepted that before making my reservation. However, in reality, the pub remained open until around 2:00 AM, with extremely loud noise throughout the night. At around 1:30 AM, I went downstairs and spoke to a member of staff, who confirmed that the pub would remain open for another 30 minutes, until around 2:00 AM. The noise inside the room was so loud that it felt as though the people on the terrace were inside my room. The windows appeared to be single-glazed and provided virtually no sound insulation. I paid for a hotel room to rest and sleep, not to be kept awake until 2:00 AM. At 1:34 AM, I also sent an email to the hotel through Booking.com explaining the situation, which I can provide as evidence.

The location is excellent.

Locked window that you couldn’t open. Carpet hadn’t been vacuumed and was sticky. Headboard was stained. One wall had damp stains and holes in the wall. Tv didn’t work. Left at 8 am as just couldn’t stay any longer there.

Spacious room. Efficient check-in. Nespresso machine (or similar). Nice walk to the handy big Asda. Great to have a separate exit to come and go without having to go through the pub.

The room was surprisingly hot. Perhaps from everyone's towel rails being on. However, a fan was provided, which was needed. The sliding shower doors didn't shut fully. One of the bedside cabinets was dusty. The bathroom had privacy film on. I would suggest it for the bedroom also, given it's at the same level as the house windows opposite. Nothing major.

Gute Lage

Staff were friendly and helpful if needed. Check in was quick even though we were earlier than expected. The cost of the room was fair. Plenty of toiletries were available.

The room was extremely cold when we arrived and we went out about an hour or so later to find a warmer place to have a drink. When we got back about 10:30 the room was much warmer but we think the timer should be adjusted so the heating comes on earlier.

Bed was comfy and clean. There was a sky box what was a nice touch. Staff was very helpful.

If you want a party this place is for you. If you want sleep from 9.30 you can forget about it. Bar was really warm but my room was freezing cold until I told them twice to switch it on. While downstairs is nicely warm

There was a rave night going on until 12am - the walls were literally vibrating. Then people were shouting until 4am. The worst hotel I've ever been to. You HAVE to warn people this is planned before booking.

The pub had been run down, but there is a lot of poverty around in Cornwall. However, the owners had made an effort to improve the interior. Rooms and bar area had been tastefully upgraded,but the bedroom was tight for space. The staff were friendly and helpful, so it's okay for an overnight stay.

Hayle is a great spot to base off to explore Cornwall. The provided parking was ideal and staff were friendly and helpful. The only issue I had was with a weak WiFi at night, but i was at one end of the building. Overall, a great experience.

Check in was great, greeted by a very friendly and helpful member of staff. The room & ensuite were comfortable, clean and spacious. The location and parking were very good. We had a lovely, tasty and reasonably priced evening meal and delicious desert in the bar, served by friendly staff with great customer service and a good atmosphere... then, a different member of staff came on duty who was rather rude and unhelpful, we waited 20 minutes after ordering a post-meal coffee only to be told the coffee machine wasn't working, we asked for a hot chocolate instead and waited a further 15 minutes only to be given a stone cold drink. When we asked for a replacement we were told that wasn't possible and were very reluctantly given a refund... shame that this poor experience tainted the overall good feeling for our stay.

La struttura è molto sporca. Nelle camere (2) abbiamo trovato pavimenti pieni di briciole, asciugamani rotti/bucati, molta sporcizia. Ringrazio però ancora Den per la sua cortesia: unica nota positiva della location. Pagato tanto!

Una delle peggiori esperienze mai avute in una struttura. La camera era sporca fin dal primo momento, con evidenti segni di mancata pulizia. Nei giorni di soggiorno nessuno è mai passato a pulire, nonostante avessimo segnalato la situazione alla reception. Le tazze sporche sono rimaste lì, gli asciugamani erano visibilmente macchiati e maleodoranti, il bagno era in condizioni indecenti, senza nemmeno il minimo indispensabile come shampoo o sapone. La sera, dopo aver chiesto espressamente un intervento di pulizia, abbiamo trovato tutto esattamente come prima: sporco ovunque. Servizio inesistente, totale disinteresse per l’igiene e per il cliente. Una struttura che non dovrebbe nemmeno essere su Booking. Sconsigliatissima, da evitare assolutamente. Pretendo di essere risarcito. È stato un furto spudorato.

La camera era confortevole, con un’ottima macchina del caffè, parcheggio gratuito e buon cibo da pub in loco. Il personale è stato cordiale e accogliente. I cuscini erano fantastici e, anche se il letto era un po’ morbido, era comunque molto comodo. La camera era pulita, ma avrebbe bisogno di una mano di pittura. Nel complesso, un soggiorno piacevole.
