D.I Residence Boutique Hotel vs Similar Hotels

Room size and comfort were liked, but issues with bed quality were mentioned.

Multiple complaints about outdated/damaged furnishings, very small bathrooms, hard mattresses and discrepancies with listing photos — overall below-par room quality for a 4* expectation.

Rooms were described as old, and some had maintenance issues, mixed with some decent experiences.

Some reviews mention cleanliness positively, but bugs and aging fixtures were noted.

Mostly reported as clean and tidy by multiple guests, but several mentions of cigarette smell in corridors/rooms and at least one report of roaches, so slight deduction.

Numerous reviewers highlighted filth in rooms and bathrooms, indicating poor cleanliness.

The view from the windows and proximity to local attractions were appreciated.

Mixed: praised as being in a wealthy/central area and partly self-contained, with good views; but also noted to be in Chinatown (not riverside) and not within easy walking distance of some sights, plus nightclub noise issues.

The location is convenient for those wanting to enjoy nearby entertainment.

Staff were described as polite and helpful.

Consistently praised staff — friendly, helpful and accommodating (arranged shuttle, tuk-tuk availability); strong service sentiment across reviews.

Guests appreciated the friendly and helpful staff, including assistance with laundry and other needs.

Breakfast was a common point of criticism with limited offerings.

Repeated negative comments about breakfast (poor variety, frequently empty, quality issues) and note that meals are provided via a neighbouring restaurant rather than an in-house dining experience.

No specific feedback on food and beverage, assumed standard for this hotel tier.

Some amenities were lacking, such as water in the room.

Gym and swimming pool are positive features and frequently mentioned; some issues reported (slow elevators, broken tiles in the 13th-floor pool) but overall amenities are a strength.

Amenities received mixed feedback, particularly regarding the pool and gym equipment.

Affordable rates received positive feedback.

Value is questioned by guests: complaints about higher booking-platform prices and limited/poor breakfast offering reduce perceived value.

Several guests feel that the hotel does not provide value for the price paid.
