The bed was comfy
The food was poor and the noise from a motorbike every morning at 0500hrs
Food was good, Room was lovely clean and comfortable, staff were really friendly and they served Hawkstone on tap which was a bonus at really good prices
only thing i could suggest is a bigger menu but that hard when its a local pub, in a rural area which i understand, so not alot i can say that i didnt really like
Nice restaurant , good food and service
Our room was disappointing, too small to be a family room , no where to put anything and a very low and uncomfortable bed
Big room, comfy bed, location
Nothing really
Staff
The smells in our room, coming through from the kitchen. Spiders webs. It wasn't a luxury room.
Good breakfast. Would have liked fruit. Good parking
Difficult WiFi. Low ceiling in bedroom
The food was surprisingly good.
The TV reception was terrible. Also, I felt that atmosphere was more suited to tradesmen. There were quite a few.
nice and clean, friendly staff Was great having No.16 as we was able to let the dog out for a wee, in our own secured outside space.
Nowhere to place the soap in the shower. Lots of noise from the flat above could hear the shower running and the toilet when flushed. Some sound proofing is needed
It was near the wedding venue
Not geared up for a wedding party / large volume of guests
Ideally situated for our needs Clean well equipped room Excellent food …Sunday lunch and breakfast Friendly staff

Great, clean, comfortable hotel. Value for money, perfect match!
Beautiful location, friendly staff and comfortable
Was loud at some points with doors closing and thin walls
Genuine pub serving good beer and wine, excellent food and comfortable rooms
Leaving
The room we stayed in was clean and tidy. Good size with good walk in shower. Lovely breakfast, hot and cold choices (or both ! ). We ate there on both nights, food was excellent, large portions and very good value for money. Staff were very pleasant and helpful
Some areas looked a bit dated and could do with a freshen up. Not very good signal on the TV in our bedroom (not the end of the world tho) A bit out of the village so nowhere to walk to in the evening. Too far to walk into the village
Very good and served by a lovely lady
Not the best mattress but not the worst either
It was clean and tidy
Good breakfast well priced
Restaurant decided to close at 7.30 because they were quiet
Location and breakfast
Dinner menu could be better, there was far better choice in the local area. But the quality of the food was good
NIce comfortable rooms with friendly staff at reception and serving breakfast.
Our first interaction was being asked for an 'early check-in' fee of £30 because we wanted to use the room before 1600 in order to change for a wedding - other guests who were also stung mentioned that 'this was a bit of a cheek'! We would agree as the room was already ready! Our comfortable room was in a converted cottage alongside the main building - the free guest wifi could be best described as intermittent. We were also puzzled about how we would have coped if there had been a fire in the cottage - there were no instructions on the back of the door and no obvious means of escape apart from back down the narrow stairs which could well have been the source of the fire.
The breakfast was adequate, but they kept running out of things. Service was slow.
The menu in the restaurant was very sparse.Cod for the cod and chips was frozen, which made it watery and tasteless. The steak pie had more vegetables than steak, with the pastry a hard lump served on the side.
Very small room smell from bathroom like blocked drains. Cobwebs around windows. tv ( 19 inch ..really) Broken ..not seen anything that small in 10 years. Poor quality food gammon very salty and fatty a load of oven chips !!! I paid £80 room disgraceful. Ask for better room refused due to being full....only 3 cars in car park total cowboys
Everything
Location. We were staying for a wedding at the Hopton Court which was a five min walk away. Room was large and comfortable. Staff were great. Asked for an iron and ironing board and a fan as it was very hot and all supplied very quickly. Food was great. Staff were lovely even when I left without paying the food and drink bill from the night before.
I felt the outside seating area was a little run down and could have benefited from some TLC which has obviously been lavished on the rooms.
We chose this hotel because it was close to a family wedding which was due to start at 3pm; we had stayed for a similar occasion 7 years ago, and were happy to return. Arriving after a 2 hour drive, we had a good pub meal before the wedding with other family members, the staff were friendly and our room was clean. Some of us had the breakfast which, at £12 ph was good value, though there were was no fruit available.
For obvious reasons, we needed access to our rooms in order to change before the wedding. We were told the rooms were ready but we would need to pay an extra £30 in order to gain access because 'check-in wasn't until 3pm'. We had no choice but to pay up, but no member of staff was inconvenienced by admitting us to our rooms an hour and a half early. This has never happened to me before and, in my view, reflects poor customer service.
15 minutes walk from venue
headboard, bathroom rad had no thermostat, which was an oversight given it was on full on the hottest day/night of the year to date.
It was clean & comfortable, they went the extra mile for our pet dog with providing a bed, towel & bowl.
Only a minor detail, the location was 2.5 miles from Cleobury Mortimer where the post code is registered.
The cooked breakfast was very nice, and served promptly. The location was handy for our plans in a beautiful part of Shropshire. Good beer at the bar.
Our room a little bit noisy in the annex
Lovely location and family room is nice and spacious. A good breakfast - recommend their homemade marmalade
It was better than anticipated its oldy world which is quite nice. Rooms were spacious clean comfortable. Had teas & coffee. Smart TV big bonus we stayed in the family room single & king bed. Food was nice excellent hot cooked breakfast loads on the plate and the coffee is the best.
Only complaint is the bed was too low even a higher mattress would make a huge difference.
Cute cozy property, had all the essentials including bathing products.Tv in room.
Unfortunately you can hear the neighbours below who were noisy until after mid night so floors a bit thin.
Location ok
The stay £154 was expensive compared 3 days during week £258 for 3 days
Lovely quiet pub, excellent food and staff.
The staff all very helpful and nothing too much trouble always smiling Cleanliness was very good . Food was excellent and well priced Would stay again if in that area again So a big thankyou to all the staff at the Hopton Crown
Quaint hotel (which is a pub / restaurant) in a handy location for travel. Room and food were good. Friendly staff and large free car park.
Wifi was poor, which was frustrating as the mobile signal in the area is very slow and patchy.
Great menu and speedy service
very clean, lovely friendly helpful staff
clean, comfortable, spacious room. Great food
Comfortable bed, great breakfast
Staff very attentive, food excellent
Nothing
Poor quality beds and materess. No Hair Drier. No Where to store materials in the shower.
Everybody was friendly and good location for our stay
No hairdryers in rooms
Quiet location, good wifi connection with there being no signal in the area, very clean, decent price
Staff were quiet but not an issue, still polite.
Friendly staff. Parking on site. Good food. Lots of locals eating or drinking there.
Couldn’t take my dog in the restaurant for evening meal so I had to sit in the pool room with people playing pool. My room was next to a noisy generator or boiler.
Location and cleanliness
Food. Fridays nights fish and chips saw the fish burnt and 80% batter. 20% fish. Saturdays scrambled eggs were not egg but the reconstituted stuff you buy to save money. Saturday nights dinner was bland pizza ( we’d asked for extra jalapeño and got none ) and the Thai curry was too powdery and minimum chicken. Bar prices a little expensive but I guess it’s where it’s at. Locals in the bar very unfriendly towards us guests.
The room was beautiful very clean and fresh we had a meal at lunchtime and it was amazing if you ever order the loaded fries it was massive enough for 2 people the staff are so helpful and friendly we had a room with a great view over the fields . We had breakfast which was also amazing
We had our room changed due to a misunderstanding about our needs. The staff were helpful and we had a great room.
The full English breakfast was very poor. The egg and bacon were overcooked and almost inedible. The continental breakfast was poor, compared with previous visits. With a lack of selection, no pasteries or preserves and no glasses for the fruit juice
Not alot
Room we stayed in - very basic Unfriendly staff No welcome
Good value, clean and comfortable
Noisy other guests banging doors etc. Not hotel’s fault
Dropped a pin on booking.com & this was close to where we wanted to be, so the location was great. The room was huge (but watch the step down) with a lovely big comfy bed. Staff were friendly & food portions were HUGE & also delicious. Would we stay again? Yes we would
Low beams!!! 😂😂😂 be careful if you’re over about 5’10 😂😂😂 if that’s the only negative, then you know they’re doing the rest well.
Friendly staff nice food.
The welcoming staff, parking and breakfast were very good. The room was clean and had a good tea tray with biscuits . We ate in the restaurant one night and the portions were big and tasty, it was nice to finish the evening in the cosy bar area.
Could have had a couple of shelves in the bathroom to place toiletries etc.
So clean and staff were very welcoming
Tv in room was basic, and in the wrong place and too small for the room
No heating in room advised underfloor heating installed (
Excellent decor, great looking building
Nothing
Very cozy people so kind breakfast delicious everything super
Very comfortable bed and fabulous breakfast
Bar area a bit too noisy for us on Saturday evening
Spacious room and good location for what we needed. Very good value for food and drinks.
Small menu that wasn’t very detailed and room got very hot. Also no one on site when it came to check out
Breakfast ok.. had better in other hotels although the hotel price with breakfast included was reasonably good, so can't complain
The evening meal menu had limited choice and no specials board so ate elsewhere
The location was great, the hotel was lovely and the staff were so friendly. It was a beautiful drive in to Ludlow.
We loved everything
A lovely hotel/restaurant in the countryside, ample free parking. Exactly what we wanted to start our road journey round England and Scotland. Area very picturesque, my Australian friends where charmed by the chocolate box look of the surrounding area.
Amazing and clean and well laid out! Lovely comfy bed and bath. Breaky was super yummy and came quick.
Breakfast staff could have been much more efficient, and trained
Lovely location, great pub, friendly staff and customers
Wish breakfast had been extended, especially as NYE always a late night.
Friendly staff and welcoming pub and nice rooms . Had a lovely meal . Enjoyed the warm open fire .
Nothing
Nothing
Everything. Poor food - rib-eye stew with 3 pieces of meat. Armchairs in bar dirty, worn and past it. No heating on anywhere with bedrooms freezing and lukewarm water in bathroom and shower in the morning. No staff available on leaving after a night's stay and the place in darkness.
Nice location good food amazing breakfast clean tidy room powerful shower comfortable bed excellent stay Lovely staff very friendly
Cold room would have been good on a cold day for room to warm
Breakfast OK, Evening meal good, Beer good.
Bathroom cold as towel rail/radiator not heated.
Everything was lovely and clean, the staff were always polite and attentive.
Nothing not to like!
Good breakfast.
Rooms not as requested close and upper floors but spread over different buildings
Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Good size room.
You could hear other guests in other rooms who kept waking us up. No sanitary bin in bathroom. Quite small double bed that squeeked a lot.
Really lovely place. Stayed whilst attending a wedding at Hopton Court and location was perfect.

Cleanliness
7.5/10Mixed comments: several reviewers said rooms were clean and tidy, but others reported cobwebs, small-room smells and blocked-drain odors in some rooms — overall slightly below standard.
Service
9/10Consistently positive: multiple mentions of friendly, helpful staff and a 'splendid lady' serving breakfast; quick responses to requests (iron, fan) justify a strong score.
Location
9/10Very good for the target audience (wedding guests): several reviewers noted proximity to the venue and convenient walk times, making location a clear strength.
Room Quality
8.3/10Generally comfortable and spacious for many guests, though some reported small rooms, a mediocre mattress and concerns about cottage fire-escape signage — overall slightly above average.
Amenities
8.1/10Mixed amenities: positives include timely provision of irons/fans; negatives include intermittent guest Wi‑Fi and a somewhat run-down outside seating area — roughly at standard for the hotel tier.
Value for Money
6.9/10Several comments about extra charges (early check-in fee), perceived overpricing (paid £80 for a poor room) and disappointment with some offerings, lowering perceived value.
Food and Beverage
6.8/10Notable complaints about sparse dinner menus, poor dish quality (frozen cod, poor pie) and running out of breakfast items; some guests enjoyed meals, but overall food sentiment is negative.
Overall Experience
9.2/10Overall the stay worked well for event guests: staff and location are strong positives and several guests praised breakfast and helpfulness, resulting in a generally positive overall impression despite food/value issues.
