Provider-sourced guest reviews.
It was a large bedroom with a good bathroom and conveniently located on the High Street. Parking was available on site and the breakfast was very nice.
Nothing really. The floors were sloping in the room but that reflected the age of the building and was part of its charm.
Good location - in the heart of Tenterden. Super quirky rooms - great breakfast
Nothing
Lovely old building, with a pleasant atmosphere. The room was very comfortable and clean.
I would not recommend the breakfast, the first day it was ok. But the second morning it was terrible. The bacon was so overcooked it was like cardboard the tomato was also over cooked so was like a dried skin and the eggs were awful. It should not have been sent out of the kitchen.
Very comfortable and extremely spacious. Very clean and a great breakfast with plenty of options. Free parking available on site. Would stay again.
Good location and authentic building
For an ancient building the facilities were fantastic! Thoughtful decor and very helpful staff! Spotlessly clean!
Nothing considering the age of the place! Really well done and brought up to date!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location in the centre of Tenterden was great for our needs.
The only downside which is not the Woolpacks fault as it is an old building. They have maceraters in the bathrooms so can be noisy. They also informed as well. It would not stop us staying again as they were honest and upfront about it
The Woolpack is ideally situated in the heart of Tenterden. There is parking on site which is a great bonus. The staff were friendly. The hotel was clean and tidy. As you would expect from an old building adapted to suit the modern visit, you do have to be aware of the character of the building. The Woolpack is an ideal place to relax and explore the local area. The Kent and East Sussex Railway station is only a few minutes away. The Morgan museum in Rolvenden is a short drive away.

Perfect breakfast. Clean everywhere. Efficient staff
Website said pay in May but booking.com took payment day of booking which I didn't know till I got bank statement..man at woolpack not interested in helping. Daughter in hospital so changed dat to September. Charged extra for changing.
Interesting heritage property very centrally located. Nice restaurant and friendly staff. Parking on site.
It was quite noisy with traffic close by. It would have been useful to have information in the room with the Wi-Fi code and instructions on how to work the tv for example.
Authentic 600yr old hotel- 12th century church next door. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Beds and pillows so comfortable. Excellent bedside lamps for reading - very unusual in hotels in my experience.
Because of hotel age, floors are uneven and sloping. People with balance issues should be aware. No BBC or ITV1 available on TV!
The property has that old feeling but with a very modern touch to make it fresh and a pleasure to stay in. The staff are very welcoming and the breakfast comes highly recommended. Clean and tidy and will be returning back. Parking available before check in and you can leave your car after you have checked out for a lovely walk through Tenterden high street.
Not a negative but being 6ft 1 the “mind your head” signs come in very handy…. 😁
Spiksplinternieuwe studio boven de pub. Bedden heel erg goed en lekker ruim. Goed ingericht en schoon. Authentiek. Leuk stadje.
Staff were very friendly and obliging; although feather pillows were provided, I was given a different pillow when I requested it. Good selection of teas and coffee in the room.
No information sheet in the room - we only found out the wi-fi password on the morning we were due to leave! We were only staying for one night, so room was fine, but lack of a wardrobe could be a problem if staying longer. Although our 'full English breakfast' was good, there were only 2 cereals and 2 juices available, along with 2 small pastries on the buffet table - li.ited choice with no fruit. We requested decaf tea, but there was no decaf tea or coffee available - the young lady did try to find some, and was very apologetic. I was also surprised that any beverage other than basic tea or coffee (eg latte, cappuccino, fruit tea) would demand an extra charge.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Full of character. Would definitely recommend
The character of the whole place
Wonderful attentive staff - Regan, Jess and Rowan are a credit to their employers and The WoolPack Inn

Great historic pub with lots of character and generous room size
Small awkward car park
Breakfast was delicious. Staff friendly amd helpful. Everything was well organised. Clean tody and well run. Evening meal also delicious. Lovely old buildings with lots of character in aprimeposition on the accessible High Street.
Nothing!
Cooked breakfast choice was good. Non cooked selection was average
The hotel was in a good location. The garden was nice , parking available ,Friendly staff. The bar was nice and so was the old building. Would stay again but maybe not in the summer
It was very hot and the upright fan provided was useless . We had our own which helped a bit. With the window open it was noisy as the room was in the front. The food menu had been reduced due to the heat so not a great choice especially as it was our anniversary. The shower head was placed a little low and not moveable for tall people!!
Friendly staff, Beautiful Rooms with lots of character!

Cleanliness and comfortable
The lound noise coming from the bathroom
Characterful room and bathroom.
Flashing bulb in main light in bedroom
Very clean. Friendly staff and welcome.
Too many high stools
Uneven floor
Great old building without a straight wall or right angle anywhere :) Super comfy very large bed. Staff friendly and very helpful . Good central location to explore all around Kent
Two minor gripes. Wife would have liked if there was a dressing table to sit at. And would have been nice if there was a full stand in shower but appreciate could be difficult to fit in.
Typische Engelse pub Inn met modern ingerichte kamer. Gezellig en knus.
In het centrum en gezellige pub beneden.
Lovely spacious room
Nothing
Authentic pub in lovely village. If you are looking for something luxurious and modern/new, this is not the place to go to. Pub food was very good.
Fun place to stay. Very convenient in the center of town and walking distance from everything, Enjoy the pub which had great energy. The breakfast was good. Some great options.
There wasn't much we did not like.
Perfect location for our needs and a comfortable room.
Very friendly staff. Good sized room and bathroom. Great location in the heart of Tenterden. It was a hot day but I was pleased to see that a fan had been provided in the room. Large choice for hot breakfast, freshly cooked - delicious!
Clean rooms . Comfy beds. Lovely staff.
Room was incredibly hot. Serious need for Air conditioning in the upper rooms.
Excellent hotel lots of original features Staff where excellent and very helpful Would highly recommend
500 year old inn . Free parking and great room . Breakfast was delicious.
Amazing location on the main street, moments away from shops and restaurants. The room was so quirky: not a straight wall, but excellent facilities. A great bathroom, lots of storage space. We ate in the restaurant: The pie was amazing, and the service was exceptional.
All was excellent!
Clean and comfortable great location. Interesting old building
All good except perhaps a wider choice at breakfast would be good. Cooked breakfast very good but other choices limited eg toast, fruit etc
It was charming great location and friendly staff
It has a great atmosphere
Location excellent in central Tenterden, own car park for guests, friendly helpful staff, fans in each bedroom (heatwave week), stayed in the loft apartment so does have steep stairs but this is an historic 16th century building so is to be expected - recently decorated and well appointed to make the most of the space. Beds have little shelves and bedside lights, hooks rather than wardrobes but plenty of space for suitcases in the loft apartment. We didn't eat at the restaurant in the evening, but breakfast in the morning was good and no problem for me to take tray up to the room for an elderly relative.
A photo online showing the steep stairs to the 2 bedroom aparement wouldn't hurt, and a little oil on the bathroom door, but otherwise really quite perfect.
Toppen. Att rekommenderas!
Great breakfast
It’s old world charm and its location. The bed was large and quite comfortable.
Car park was cramped and awkward to manoeuvre in. Notwithstanding the property is very old, the room, albeit quite large, was sparsely furnished with no place to put one’s suitcases apart from the floor and the decor was bland and uninviting. There were tables but seemingly no room to put anything, both in the bathroom and the bedroom. The shower was not really a shower, more of a hose down heath robinson affair, and the macerating toilet was noisy.
It’s very old and characterful
Nothing to dislike
Location good, staff lovely efficient friendly and professional. Room quirky, spacious and clean. Only there the one night, but would definitely go back, we'll done.
Nothing to moan about.
Great location, clean & good value
Our bathroom was too small and very difficult to access as door didn’t open fully
En fullträff! Boka nu! Genuint bra.
Lovely old inn with very comfortable rooms.
All good, although maybe the car park could be bigger. The second part of the 'secret garden' needs some attention.
The quirkiness of the ancient building, the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. Location very good for visit to Chapel Down winery, with good local taxi services.
The streaming channels on the TV were not accessible and no one knew how to fix the issue.
Location
Ideal location, friendly staff, very clean. Given history of this 500+ year old hotel and fully advised of quirks due to the age of the building. Good choice of food for breakfast and good quality food. Have stayed before and will do in the future. Definitely recommend.
The room and amenities were excellent.
More coffee sachets in the room please!
Great location, beautifully clean, spacious bedrooms and lovely, attentive staff.
We were warned about the noise from the macerator toilet and it is indeed noisy but, realistically, this is a very old building so the plumbing was obviously retrofit!!!
A lovely old inn right in the centre of Tenterden. Full of character, comfortable rooms, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. We particularly enjoyed the sense of history in the building and its excellent location for exploring the town. We’d happily stay again.
Honestly, very little. If anything, our only complaint was that we weren’t staying longer.
Smashed avocado on toast at breakfast turned out to be a smear of pre-prepared avocado 'paste' on very tough sourdough toast - not good at all. Only bread/toast on offer was sourdough - a choice including brown bread would have been appreciated. The cooked breakfast options were excellent.
The following are issues of awareness for other visitors:- Being a lovely ancient building, guests (especially more senior ones) should be aware that floors in some bedrooms and bathrooms are very uneven. The hot water in bathrooms is VERY hot and one of my companions was unfortunate enough to scald her ankle in the shower because there was no warning. The staff were extremely concerned and by the time we returned later in the day hot water warnings had been put in the bathrooms.
Location albeit on the main road with pub customers sitting outside in the evening.
Very hot with only a fan available. (Very old building). Noisy water/waste system.
Lovely old property, charming room. Great breakfast.
It was a hot day, but one small-ish fan and a window that couldn’t be opened more than 6 inches made it ridiculously hot.
The location, the staff and the room was lovely
Nothing
Good breakfast- central location with parking
En suite bathroom was tiny - basically a cupboard off the room and sloping ceiling made access difficult. Very noisy . Evening menu limited
We were meeting up with family also staying in Tenterden so ideal location .,easy to walk around the town - and had allocated parking .
The first night the music from the bar was like a continuous thumping .. I know the building is old but needs sound proofing for bedrooms. The macerator system in bathroom was v annoying
Zimmer gut ausgestattet.
Lovely town, very centrally located to Chapel Down and Gusbourne. Pub was very cute, and very tasting food (we had dinner in one night) and friendly staff.
Room was steep, with the bathroom floor very slopey so wouldn’t recommend if any accessibility issues. Can only speak for the room we were given and expect that is not the case for all the rooms.
Cosy , unique & location
My meals were delicious. The staff were friendly. There were plenty of options for hot drinks in my room. The water was lovely and hot. My room was clean. The sheets were crisp and clean. The location was great for looking around the shops.
It would be nice to have the option to have synthetic fillings in my pillows and duvet as I am mildly allergic to feathers (my eyelids swell and my nose becomes blocked. Nothing life-threatening!) The mattress topper had a 'stain' on it. The towels didn't smell freshly washed although they appeared clean.
Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Staff friendly and heloful
Bar food very average .
Very quaint old property, which we both loved, staff, beer, and food all great
there was nothing not to like
great staff great food fantastic room
nothing
Superb breakfast and staff
Loved the room, gorgeous bathroom, cute view.
