Goede prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Centrale plek in Marrakech. Vriendelijk personeel en héérlijk ontbijt. Leuk binnenplaatsje

I loved the hospitality. Karima was fabulous and went out of her way to make us comfortable. It was hard to find at first, but so close to the markets! Great stay! Breakfast was amazing.

The instructions to get to the door could’ve been clearer as it is a quite hard to find. Maybe a video may help?

Breakfast was nice. Staff were helpful. Great location. I stayed one night only.

Very hard bed and it was cold during my stay - there was heating in the room but not the bathroom.

The hosts are lovely and very welcoming. The Riad is incredibly difficult to find when you first arrive - although made easier in the knowledge that white arrows have been crudely painted to display the correct route through the labyrinth of the Medina. It was quite overwhelming to navigate through dark alleys, unsure of where you are going. The property would benefit from more visible signage, or sending an email to guests with directions prior to the stay. The Riad is a little rundown, with windows cracked and missing in the rooms - however they still display the gorgeous Moroccan decor. I am unlikely to stay here again, having stayed at another local Riad during the same trip - however I do not regret my visit to this authentic and traditional Riad.

The hosts were very friendly. We really enjoyed the time we took to talk and drink tea when we arrived after a long flight from Canada. The place was really beautiful and the terrace on top to watch the stars at night was really amazing.

Good location, close to the souk and the Secret Garden. Fresh tea on arrival. Big breakfast. Although hard to find initially, the owner then showed me white arrows marked on the walls leading through the maze of streets back to the riad - which was helpful. Lovely old building with beautiful tiling on the walls. It does have charm!! Feels safe and tucked away. Peaceful.

Very hard to find, at first. Owner tried to overcharge me and then claimed that the Euro must have fluctuated since that morning (not plausible given she was asking for £30 more than the agreed price on booking.com!) Dirty carpets and sockets hanging out of walls - all felt a bit grimy and run down. My room was on the ground floor so was small, dark and cold at night. Breakfast was big but just lots of types of bread. Information was drip-fed/only in response to questions (eg directions to the main street, WiFi, the fact that there's actually a roof terrace...)

The property was beautifully decorated in traditional way.The hosts were very friendly and caring.

You cannot reach the location by car,It was difficult with luggage and kids. There was a bad smell in the room and toilet.

I liked how cozy and comfortable the riad was. The history behind it and old photos were very interesting.

It was difficult to find, however you can call Omar and he can direct you with the phone number linked to the riad.

Spent a night here after hiking in the Atlas Mountains. The host was super nice, the room was large, it was very quiet inside and breakfast was good. We struggled a bit to find the riad but eventually learnt to follow the white arrows (and there wasn’t a sign on the door originally which didn’t help).

Family business. Very nice ppl and wonderful breakfast

Hard to find the place

Charming and helpful hosts in attractive Riad. Good breakfast but basin area in poor state. Shower fine. Overall some simple maintenance would help a lot.

A fantastic place to stay in Marrakesh—perfectly located in the heart of the city, yet remarkably peaceful, with only the soft songs of birds to wake you in the morning. Omar and Karima pour their hearts into making every guest feel truly welcome, ensuring a stay that is comfortable and memorable. With its authentic charm and very warm hospitality, this is more than just accommodation; it’s an experience, a seamless immersion into the essence of Morocco.

Authentic Riad

Really simple, quite cold in winter for guests

Authentic Riad experience hidden in the tight alleyways of the Medina. Just getting there is half the experience. Great family run Riad with the best breakfast I had in Morocco (also the best amlo) and very welcoming hosts. Almost felt like you're part of the family.

Shared bathroom might not be for everyone...personally I was aware of it, but for someone might be a deal breaker. The facilities where very clean.

Clean and Super kind and nice family owned liad. They are very helpful with thiyou may need😊

A very good accommodation in terms of both location and staff. Karima and Omar made me feel at home during my holiday in Marrakesh and were extra helpful in various matters.

Perfect location, breakfast 😋

I loved the room, it was sweet and intimate and just right with external bathroom and small central plaza for gathering with locals and breakfast, le petit dejeunner. I was looked after by Karina and she helped me with my trip to Essaouria and returning back tor staying again and the flight home. Breakfast tres bon, merci beaucoup auvoir for now

It was a little cold on the first night, I asked for an extra blanket and they were more thank happy to oblige. Thank you

Lovely hosts and central location

I really recommend u to stay there. Karima and her sister Samira are very helpful and I felt really welcome there.

Very traditional Moroccan riad.

Beautiful riad down a very quiet street a few minutes from the edge of the Medina. Kareema looked after us really well and was lovely. We woke to the sound of birds for the first time in many weeks. Great breakfast and lovely old style rooms.

Omar is very helpful. He prepared a good breakfast even if we had to leave the riad in the early morning. The riad is very quiet and elegant. Owners very kind. I recommend 100%, also the location is central.

Located right by the market but a world away once in the riad. A seeming maze (actually well marked so easy to get back to) to a traditional court centered house. All you hear are the birds in the courtyard trees. A quiet place after enjoying the crazy busy Medina.

Karima made me feel at home, she was super helpful and kind! She not only provided me with towels but also a bathroom so felt a bit fancy ;) The Riad is very beautiful and I especially loved the bathroom and the rooftop! All in all it was a great stay and I highly recommend this place!

The only thing I would say is that the wifi was not reaching my room very well.

The service was great, the food was awesome and whilst things didn't go to plan they made everything work out better than expected.

My original room had been overbooked but they for me another space and it was perfect.

Karima is definitely who you will miss the most upon return to home 🥰

there is a amazing breakfast, cakes and tea. owners are guestfriendly i feel like home. also rooms and space is clean, coisy good to work inside

Karima was a fab host who pulled out the stops when I was unexpectedly caught out by a lack of transport back to my origin city and needed a second night. Also the ambience of course.

Was tricky to find. Maybe have water to buy on site as it’s quite a walk to any shop!

I stayed at Riad sidi Omar for a couple nihys and I felt welcome all the time. All of the staff are very hospitable and kind, they also make a lovely breakfast every morning

Wifi can be a bit spotty

It was the only place available after my other booking fell through so I was happy to stay here. It wouldn't have been a first choice option.

Room was on the roof terrace. Needs modernization.

I paid for a twin room, but instead I was given a room with a double bed on the floor, not what I expected. The room had two chairs with a lot of dust on and the table had a dirty table cloth. I expected the room to be cleaner with twin beds as per the photos on the website and what I paid for. The room I was staying in was poor, had a bad light, very dark and dirty.

Excellent people with extraordinary hospitality

Different to reach by car or find my way easily to it

We had a great experience at this riad in Morocco! The staff was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The hostel's central location was a major plus, providing easy access to local attractions. I highly recommend this hostel to fellow travelers seeking a vibrant and friendly atmosphere in the heart of Morocco.

The location is great and breakfast was lovely.

The owner's brother - Jawad or Jawal? charged me 1850 Dirhams, which is 170 euros instead of 150 euros (the price listed on the website). He also gave me incorrect change when I paid for the hotel stay and the taxi ride there. I don't like being cheated and for the price I ended up paying, it was not worth it at all. Also Jawal/Jawad wasn't there when I turned up at the airport, despite a pick up from the airport being arranged beforehand, I eventually managed to call the hotel and then he turned up but that shouldn't have happened. There is no heating so it is very cold at night, the wifi doesn't work, sometimes there was no hot water and no toilet paper in the bathroom... I wouldn't have minded this for the price I originally agreed to pay but since Jawad cheated me, I'm not happy with the experience. Of course, if the hotel want to refund the money they essentially stole from me, that would be acceptable.

Very authentic experience. Family run, clean and comfortable bed. Heat worked well on chilly nights.

Property is dated and a bit run down, shower doesn’t drain and fills up with water, lounge area hard and uncomfortable

Absolutely beautiful a very old riad and Karima was such a wonderful host, she really took care of me, exceptionally attentive and cute! Very filling and nice breakfast. So beautiful. I will be back!

Now, it is very difficult to find UNTIL you know! So put in your maps Derb Snane it will be a white arch way go down and turn left then right THEN you will see these WHITE ARROWS! Follow them and they will take you to her door a BLACK/BROWN door with studs. Ring the bell and voila!

Gentillesse de Karima !!

A beautiful little Riad away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Lovely courtyard and sun terrace. Karima couldn’t have been kinder and more accommodating. We had a fantastic stay.

The path to the accommodation itself, from the "Bab Al Qsur" to the inn, is very beautiful. It takes you on a journey through time in an alley that widens and narrows, filled with beautiful doors and small plants that adorn parts of the way. The inn's staff are very kind and helpful. The breakfast is very good. I recommend it for those who want a genuine experience of the Moroccan lifestyle. I will definitely return.

I was there during the earthquake. The host "Jawa" who is kind at heart and help me go through the difficult time there. I express my heartfelt thanks to you Jawa. I feel pleasant and more than satisfied with quality, atmosphere during my stay in this place. Alhamdulillah

I have nothing to complain

Sehr liebenswerte Menschen, tolles Frühstück

Fantastic central location . Family so hospitable. Omar, Karima, Omar’s father. Breakfast was so nice & fresh & timely. Omar & Karima went out of their way to help us to go to certain locations & even help in the souq. Very respectful family.

Got scalded in shower because thermostat not working properly. Window pane missing when as it is sound travels easily out of the room. Some window shutters do not close . Bath/shower soap & shampoo not provided.

..

We had a very good stay. It was just like arriving home .Omar made as a tea and joined us, drinking the tea. He explained the culture of Morocco very beautifully. For me, this was very important as I was travelling with my two kids . So educational. The next day was no rush of chacking out. We took our time to check out. This felt like home super chilled and reserved. Omars sister was amazing. Nice breakfast The way she said goodbye to me was just like home with the hug and kisses. The room and bed were nice and clean. Breakfast was super nice. For the price, this is very good service

I loved the hospitality. Was home away from home

All staff is welcoming, safe and private environment. The hotel is clean. Tasty local breakfast . Quiet atmosphere. Before arriving ask the staff about directions, and they will show you the white arrow to make it easy

Karemia was amazing, she would do anything for you and brought excellent breakfasts every morning that set you up for the day!

Nothing - liked everything

Lovely Riad in the middle of the Medina. Omar and his family were amazing hosts, very caring and helpful. The communication was very good. We received great hospitality.

Small room, bathroom door not lockable and bathroom was smelly (probably the drain).

Beautiful little family run traditional Riad. Felt at home and well taken care of. Location is perfect. Highly recommended.

In the old Medina and tricky to find, but charming and pretty with wonderful staff. We’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

Liked everything.

A beautiful riad just about eight minutes from the main square. The owners are the most lovely people and made sure I felt safe and welcome from the first minute, even as a solo female traveler. The room is simple but nice with a view into the garden which means that you can wake up to the lovely bird sounds. The bathroom was shared but clean and never crowded. The Moroccan breakfast was also very very good. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

location good breakfast

Warm, welcoming, and very beautiful... staff are super helpful and friendly... the riad is amazing and quiet even though it is so close to the heart of Marrakech, just a couple of minutes away from the stalls and square... the room we stayed in was cosy, quiet and homely, breakfast was amazing!... We would definitely come back here... thank you for such an enjoyable stay 😊

it was great

.The best place to be. It isn't just good,it is perfect.Karima,Omar are amazing.

Nothing

good location close to the medina, very kind owners who can help with restaurants, finding your way etc. special shout out to karima who was just wonderful! overall solid value for money. I would ask for a room higher up to get the best out of your stay

staff is - for my taste - a bit too pushy in wanting to help you buy products at the market. I felt it was almost a second business pillar to make money through commissions I assume. my room on the ground floor was quite cold in December - I could use the 2nd blanket of the bed (I was travelling solo) but would recommend taking a higher room (best one undoubtedly is the one on the rooftop terrace). some parts could use a touch up e.g. the shared bathroom on the ground floor.

I loved the staff, super friendly and helpful whenever I needed any questions answered. They also showed me around the Medina and anything nearby if they were available!

Not much to not like, it gave an authentic Riad experience! Maybe some directions to get to the Riad since it is a little bit out of the way and Google Maps had a hard time directing me to their location.

The location and breakfast were fantastic! We had bread, crepes, eggs, pancake type items and croissants. Lovely coffee and orange juice all served by friendly staff. Omar was very helpful in getting us to and from location and with his communication. He is kind and even gave us a ride to train station. Samira treated us like family and showed us around the Medina. She showed us the good stores and helped to explain what was good value. I would definitely stay here again!

Feels like home, good breakfast, nice and calm place and friendly atmosphere.

This special place was amazing for relaxing, i had a wonderfull time. Omar and his family were so helpfull and allways present in my stay during these days in Marraquech. The breakfast was delicious. Thank you Omar and to his beatifull wife.

As I wrote in the former review, there is a lot to like about this riad

Information about how to reach the riad especially at night is wanted. Therefore I enclose two maps showing how to get to the porch into the area, and then white arrows on the walls of the lanes will lead your the remaining 200 m to Riad Omar

Sidi Omar is a very pleasant riad with a pretty patio with orange trees and some interesting Berber and African artefacts. Breakfast includes the standard fresh orange juice, yogurt, triangle of cheese but a little extraordinary three different kinds of bread and the usual triangle of cheese, jam and honey. The wife of Omar takes great care of the guests. The rooms at the ground floor are traditionally facing the patio and are nicely decorated.

Some people find the riad difficult to find - and that is true, so I include some guidelines. The address is Derb Snane in the district of Mouassine. Derb just means alley, and the taxi driver knows the area, but as it is within the Medina, cars are not allowed (if you come with your own car you will have to park it outside - ask the taxi drivers), so he will set your off at the portico to Rue Sidi el Yamani - cf enclosed maps. With your suitcase you will have to walk 200 m to a porch on the left side (the only one) which is Derb Snane that includes all the lanes, but don't expect any street signs, and if you see the sign for Riad Anjar you are in the right lane. You go for number 85 and if you arrive by night as I did there are not many people in the street to ask and there is another 200 m to Riad Sidi Omar. It is a maze of alleys, some under houses, but the owner, Omar has painted white arrows on the walls on all corners. No names but they lead you to Sidi Omar and No. 85 above the door. When you want to get to Place Jemaa el Fna and everybody want that, just go in the opposite direction when you are out in the business street than the one you came in. At the white Mouassine mosque you turn right and follow the flood of people to the el Fna square

Karima and Omar are kind and hospitable people, it is a good option if you are looking for a quiet place and relax

The breakfast was superb. The location was great, just follows the white arrows! when finding the Riad. Omar provided great tips, helped me with excursions adding to my whole experience. I recommend this Riad for a genuine family run experience but still felt independent staying here.

Nothing to add here

The owner welcoming and treatment was remarkable, He did the best to provide the best possible experience at his beautiful place, thanks 😁

The owners are amazing some of the nicest people you'll meet. Super friendly and welcoming.
