Golden Topaz Resort

The resort seemed empty and we thought that it might off-peak season. Spacious and clean rooms, staff are friendly and breakfast was great! We requested for a baby cot and were provided with it. But it had a musty smell, and when we requested for another one to replace it, they said they only have 1 cot available. We jus Overall, it's a decent resort and the pool is also beautiful.

Clean, affordable and quiet

Location wasn’t too bad walk to the end of the street & you are able to hop on the free bus which goes up to vinwonders,grand world safari and also airport which was so convenient, the rooms were spacious although very hard bed, pool was amazing swam everyday morning & night, breakfast was disappointing as no restaurant and the lack of choices available & misunderstanding by staff, great restaurants near by which made lunch or dinner easy. This resort is about 30 mins out of central town so if you are looking for something central you may find it an issue

Rooms were lovely although bed (mattress)was extremely hard, breakfast had to be ordered the night before as no restaurant, basic breakfast. Pool was amazing we had the pool to ourselves the whole week - little further away than I wanted but that was our fault although an amazing restaurant across the road ‘the wood house’ ate there everyday.

Beautiful, quiet, cosy resort with amazing buffet breakfast options. Friendly and accomdating staff. The puppy Bo is super cute, will definitely come back :)

We had a fabulous time here, we are two families and although we got the family rooms set back from the pool it was still wonderful. The pool area is so lovely and always sunbeds available and different people coming and going from all nationalities. The breakfast was lovely and a good choice including pancakes, bacon, eggs, toast etc as well as fruit and Vietnamese soups etc. The rooms were very clean and large, the shower was always hot and powerful. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Location on the North of the island so quite a quiet spot but lovely restaurant nearby called streamline, we ate there 3 nights out of 5 it was so delicious! The nearby beach by ocean bay resort is simply beautiful, the best from our 16 day trip.

Beautiful grounds and pool located close to the beach with shuttle service offered. Beds were not overly comfortable and linens were not changed every two days as hotel policy mentioned.

Trevligt litet hotell med 10 minuters promenad till allmän strand. Flera mysiga restauranger längs vägen. Lagom turistigt område.

Location was nice. Pool was Great. Breakfast was good. Nearby restaurants and stores available. Public beach is quite far away - you have to pass thru two private beaches to get to the public one.

The hotel was way better than I expected and by far the best we stayed at. The hotel is a short (5 min) walk to the beach (and there is a golf buggy to take you down which was great for my elderly mum), the pool is great, and the rooms are exactly like the photos show. The staff are super friendly, and breakfast was awesome. There is no restaurant, but there are great places to eat along the quiet road the hotel is on.

The Golden Topaz way surpassed expectations! Tom the manager was amazing! The property is exactly as the photos look, just opposite is a great restaurant, then there are 4 others down the road towards the beach. The pool is great, breakfasts are fantastic! I would definitely return!

Idyllic resort full of friendly staff and guests. Great food options both on the property and close by within walking distance. It was perfect for much needed r&r. Rooms are large and beautifully decorated. The pool and lounge area is peaceful with plenty of sun and shaded spaces. I’m so happy we chose Golden Topaz. Great massage service that I have booked 2 times. I can’t think of one thing I would change.

This is a lovely resort, it's small and has a beautiful pool and grounds and it's very relaxing The bed rooms are good, comfortable.. Fairly basic.. Very roomy.. Nice balcony Any small issues are resolved quickly by the staff The breakfasts are a bit inflexible as have to order the night before and not many European options..

This was one of my most unusual stays at a resort as we came during low season and we were the only ones there for the week. The owners live on site and they were great at accommodating whatever we needed, which wasn’t much. But check in was simple, they brought our bags up to our room and the room was clean and cool. They provide small toiletries if you need. My only complaint was the hot water is so finicky that you sometimes are cold or burning hot and you’ll never know what’s coming out. They let us rent a moped for $120,000 a day which is super cheap. And we had to stay an extra day at the same rate due to flight cancellation. You can pre order breakfast to make life simple and it is very affordable. The site itself is well maintained and lush with foliage and a beautiful warm pool. We enjoyed it very much and it was a fantastic deal.

We stayed, 2 families, 8 people and had interconnecting rooms. Communication before and during our trip was great. They organised our transfer and were very helpful when we arrived with washing and advising things to do and eat around the area. It is a quiet little resort, walking distance from the beach and to eateries around the area. There was a great little restaurant across the road which we frequented. All the staff were lovely and at times it felt like you were the only the people in the resort. The rooms are very big and huge bathrooms. They were cleaned daily and the gardens and area were very well maintained. I would stay again, there are other bigger fancier places but Golden Topaz felt that bit secluded and great value for money

Nice clean property and lovely staff. Good location to beach and surrounding restaurants. A great little place across the road open from breakfast to dinner with good food and cocktails. Huge rooms, bed and bathroom. They use solar so didnt always have hot water but not a big problem as they turned on the hot water service when it was required. Nice pool, with hardly any residence using it. Would definetly stay there again.

Tom was absolutely amazing. He could not do enough for us. His English is fantastic and he is full of energy and so very happy and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, clean, great air con. The pool is super as was the breakfast. Exceptional service and wonderful hotel. Tom thank you so much for making our stay so special.

We stayed for 4 nights and would stay again. The grounds are lovely with a beautiful pool as the centerpiece. Rooms are large, very clean, excellent bathroom and the beds are luxurious! Breakfast was good. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The head reception man, Thong, was so friendly and helpful and provided good advice and recommendations.

Resort is super comfort and clean. Staffs are nice and helpful, breakfast is delicious. location is quiet but close to the beach. Highly recommend

this resort is a bit out of main area ( 5 min taxi ), rooms big & luxurious, great clean pool & staff were amazing (english limited) but beautiful people who would do anythink for you - golf cart free to take you for tripos to Ong la beach or main road no need to stay in 5 star place this is better

From our cold arrival drink, our deluxe poolside room with verhanda, fabulous eats in hotel restaurant and buggy to run you to the beach & supermarket we felt totally spoilt! Staff were always happy & smiling. Its an easy walk to the beach but in the heat it was nice to have the buggy option! Try out the lemon freeze drink it's Amazing!! If I return to phu quoc I will head straight to Golden Topaz x

Amazing hotel - great rooms, super clean. Pool area lovely. Only a short walk to the beach but buggy ride is offered and to local supermarket. Food in the restaurant is freshly cooked to order and a nice menu. Try the lemon freeze drink it's amazing! Lovely staff.

Our rooms were very large and comfortable. Breakfasts were included and there was a fantastic variety to choose from. Staff were very helpful. They sorted out any transport requirements for us in a friendly and prompt manner. While we were happy to walk nearby, the resort provided an electric golf cart and driver to get us to the nearby township or restaurants outside the resort. The pool was very clean and refreshing.

We stayed here as a couple in a king deluxe room, with pool view. The room was beautiful, spacious and super clean. The stuff is lovely, so service minded and always smiling. The breakfast was very good and so was everything else we ordered from the restaurant. This resort is in a quiet area but with a 20 min taxi ride you’re in the main city. The resort also offer shuttle service a few blocks away with a few half decent restaurants. The closest beach was terrible bins everywhere, but I really recommends going by along the beach 1 km to Mango bay beach, very beautiful! Unfortunately we weren’t too impressed by Phu Quoc but I really recommends Golden Topaz!

We loved our week stay at Golden Topaz. We had booked a room on top floor but found it not for us so change to a poolside room,that was no problem as it was very quiet when we stayed. Pool is awesome the breakfast good, i could get cold viet coffee made for me each morning as well. Staff in the food area we very nice & always helpful. Our lovely buggy driver would drop us off each night at a different restaurant then they would ring him & he would pick us up no problem,that really was helpful as it was very hot when we were in Phu Quoc. The restaurants nearby were plentiful & excellent. The hotel is a little away from the town but don't let that put you off as taxis are cheap. The hotel also organized a driver (English speaking ) for a 5 our tour we wanted to do. I totally would recommend this clean hotel.

We found ourselves not wanting to leave this place after our short stay in Phu Quoc. It is a bit far from the center but far enough for the place to be quiet and peaceful. Everywhere is just one motorbike ride away so if you are looking at going around the island, just rent a motorbike and drive around. The resort also offers a free golf car ride to and from the restaurants nearby, which are just 15 - 20 mins if you plan to walk. The room is spacious and clean. You will love how they have a smart tv where you can just Netflix and chill after a long day. Pool is very inviting with the relaxing sound of the fountain. Breakfast is not buffet this time as it is the low season but you can order all you want from their delicious set menu. Last but not the least, the staff are very very kind and helpful. What impressed us the most is how they managed to arrange everything for us very quickly. We originally scheduled a pickup from the pier on a later time but we arrived earlier than expected. After requesting to get picked up ASAP, the driver arrived within fives minutes. Big thanks to Tee, Mien, Tom and Chan and the rest of the Golden Topaz team who made our anniversary and stay on the island a very memorable one. Cheers, Kris and Janine

Met at the airport. Welcomed with cool drink in the small reception area. Past this the resort opens out to a lovely pool around which all the accommodation is set. The room we had was very spacious and comfortable. Usual tea coffee and water each day and plenty of toiletries and soft towels, robes, and slippers. The staff here were exceptional . Nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was a good buffet with an egg and crepe station. Meals were available all day and on this occasion we ate at the hotel on most of our five day stay as the main meals were so good. This is a great place just to relax. There were always sun beds free and each room had its own outside space with quality furniture. The beach is a short walk away and late afternoon the road was in the shade so more comfortable for walking. The hotel offered a shuttle service as an alternative. The beach was not the best but there was a handful of bars and a good sunset view. My only personal concern about this hotel was that there was no grab rails in the huge shower room and I felt anxious about slipping. Also I found the area round the pool slippery. Overall we had a really great time.

We have just spent a week here following a hectic 2 weeks of touring Vietnam. It was fantastic. Large, clean, nicely decorated rooms. Staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. Everywhere was very clean and the gardens were well kept. Such a lovely oasis of calm.

A wonderful 6 nights at this resort in King suite. Fabulous size room and bathroom. Everything was great room staff cleanliness. We loved every moment. The pool is good plenty of sun loungers. The driver of the electric car is fantastic. So friendly and helpful an asset to the resort. If anything let's the resort down is the food just average though plenty of great restaurants nearby. Do come and stay here.

We stayed here almost two weeks with our family. We've reserved a pickup from the airport, but no one showed up, that was a shame and didnt start our holiday very well. When we arrived we asked our pickup from the receptionist, he laughed and said he forgot. Maybe he didnt understand, his english should be better. Other guy with classes and a girl speaks quite well. Rooms are really big and nicely equipped. And this place is spotless clean!! Cleaning team are doing such a good job, they even wash matresses from the pool. Surroundings, pool and facilities are good and beautiful. Food in the restaurant is tasty and service in restaurant and bar is really good. Even though they could sometimes come by the pool and ask if people want something to drink. Breakfast should be improved. A lot. Everything was always finished and it was not nice to wait something all the time: coffee, cups, glasses, juices.. Quality was average. And omelette station was always too busy. Our favorite was that handyman who drives that golfcar. He was always there to help, he even fixed our trolleys when airline broke those. Such a lovely man. In general really really nice place to stay. Would come again. And would recommend to my friends.

It’s a small resort but with good facilities. Rooms are spacious and clean. Location is slightly further to nearby restaurants but we had a golf buggy driver which is provided by the hotel to transport hotel guest to nearby location. Food is surprisingly good and delicious. Breakfast menu could have more options but it was good enough based on the value for money. Staff spoke very little English but was friendly and helpful to get us assistance. Recommended place as to stay if looking for average pricing accommodation.

This hotel is perfect for travelers who prefer peace and quiet surroundings as it is quite far from town (at least 15-20 minutes drive). Bai Ong Lang beach is accessible by foot or you can hop on any tuk tuk but the timing of tuk tuk varies and are not available all day. The room and bathroom is very spacious with a nice porch/veranda for every room and there is a big seafood restaurant at the resort next door. Friendly, helpful staff and wonderful environment. However it was quite difficult to ask the staff to bring us an iron and sometimes there were miscommunication along the way. Recommended to install a translation app just in case. Do take note that you will have to call for a taxi to go into town or to go sight-seeing. Communication with taxi drivers can be difficult as well so the translator app will definitely come in handy.

Great Resort, just a little far north from the best beaches on the island, but still close to the water. Need a taxi or bus to reach far side of the island where there seems to be more people and tourists. The actual Resort is very nice and has a great ambiance. The on site restaurant and bar is expensive(relatively speaking still very cheap!) but it is high quality for lunch and dinner (see below for breakfast) The staff is excellent. Very welcoming and approachable. Really seemed to care about you having a good time. Pool area is awesome. Plenty of seating and the pool is very large. Rooms are excellent. Very spacious and our bathroom was huge. The shower had a waterfall shower head and had live plants in it, very cool to see. The only negative I have about this place is the complementary breakfast. It’s not that great, but it’s included with the room so no harm. I would not have paid for it. I would stay here again.

Hotel is decent but very far away from everything. The beach nearby is very rocky and not suitable for swimming. There are no shops nearby. You need to take a taxi everywhere.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon and we had an incredible time, the hotel was immaculate and the staff were all brilliant and helped with everything we needed, the restaurant was beautiful and the pool area was lovely, highly recommend!

Spent 7 nights at Golden Topaz and had a wonderful stay. Bungalows are very spacious and clean. Staff are so friendly and very helpful. Whilst in it a 20 minute drive into Duong Dong area it was worth staying at this resort. Pool area was wonderful, clean and always had plenty of lounges to choose from.

Room is spacious and clean. We enjoys time at the Pool and spa. Staff are friendly and accommodating, difnitely come back if we visit Ong Lang beach again.
