Love the George. This was our third visit. Close to everything of interest in West Bay. Triple room was spacious and comfortable and breakfast was plentiful. The yoghurt and fresh fruit was a lovely addition. We will be back!

The George is een oud hotel/pub gelegen in een klein kustplaatsje. Zeer rustig, maar overdag veel mensen (motorrijders, automobilisten) die langs de kust reizen en ven stoppen in West Bay voor een hapje en drankje. Overdag in de zomer kan het druk zijn. Maar geen overlast of harde muziek en in de loop van de avond werd het steeds heel stil en rustig. Zeer praktisch gelegen op loopafstand (200m) van het strand, het haventje en de indrukwekkende kliffen. Je kunt over het strand lopen of bovenlangs met prachtige vergezichten. Het ontbijt was zeer uitgebreid. Goede kwaliteit en smaakvol maar simpelweg te veel als je het Full English Breakfast (inbegrepen bij het onbijt) kiest. Gelukkig is alles aan te passen en dus ook de hoeveelheid. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Met mooie keuze uit Lager, Ale en Cider van de tap. Ook voor een diner is the George zeer aan te raden. En als praktisch punt: een eigen parkeerruimte naast het pand. Al met al een aanrader op alle fronten: personeel, locatie en ontbijt/diner/overnachting.

1. Free cooked breakfast with fresh fruit and yogurt every morning! There was a daily menu with a selection of different cooked options, with options for vegetarians and vegans. (e.g. veggie sausages/veggie bacon with cooked breakfast) 2. Comfortable room and bed - the bath was so nice! 3. Friendly staff - everyone was so welcoming and lovely, we had a fun jokey conversation with one of the guys serving at breakfast and I could hear him being friendly with the other guests as well 4. Great location - easy to park around the back and to travel to Charmouth and Lyme Regis !

As it is above a pub, you will hear noise and general chatter from the pub. The pub closes around 10-11 and conversation tends to die off around 11pm. This was fine for us, as we were out most of the day but something to be aware of!

The George is very well situated for access to all of West Bay,it has it's own car park. The room was spacious and clean with a big ensuite bathroom.Comfortable bed and hot shower. Tea and coffee provided. There was minimal noise and we slept well. Marvelous breakfast with healthy choices or full English. We ate in the restaurant which was a reasonable price and good quality,great portion of fresh veg. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Be aware that sometimes there is a funfair or activities in the adjoining field. Closure at 10pm meant no noise at night.

La posizione, a due passi dalla spiaggia e da tutto. La stanza era grande e spaziosa anche per tre persone. Ottima la pulizia. Letti molto comodi. Personale gentile e disponibile. Bene anche il parcheggio.

Nulla di particolare. Abbiamo scelto di cenare lì e abbiamo mangiato molto bene, ma i tempi di attesa erano un po' lunghi.

Fab location, exceptionally clean and spacious room, even a chocolate on our bed! and staff who could not do enough from taking our cases upstairs, letting us check in to car park abit earlier, offering extra toast and coffee without being asked and giving time and interest. A special shout out to Gemma who was so attentive at breakfast and at check out, superb customer service. When the staff are happy it shows in such excellent customer service. Can’t wait for our next visit!

We had our room early and could park on site. Lovely spacious bedroom and bathroom. Everything very clean. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast served to us. Thought it may be noisy due to World Cup but went quiet at 11pm.

Het hotel is prima gelegen, op korte loopafstand van het strand. Lekker ontbijt, heel vriendelijk personeel, goed bed. Het was erg warm toen we er waren, maar een goede ventilator op de kamer zorgde toch voor wat verkoeling.

All the staff were lovely and friendly and our room was great.

Steep stairs, but they can't be helped in an old building.

The food was very good, staff were very friendly and helpful. The position of the pub was excellent being near to the harbour with a lovely sea view. There's a bus stop right outside the door which had buses into town and along the coast. There are multiple other places to eat nearby so you don't need to drive anywhere. Good value.

The TV in the room was annoying as it was internet only and required resetting when switched on. There was some traffic noise. If you have poor mobility you might find the stairs difficult. None of which spoiled our stay.

Super Lage, direkt am Hafen mit Blick auf das Meer. Spitzenfrühstück! Perfekt, um die Jurrasic Coast zu erkunden.

Die Matratzen könnten mal getauscht werden. Abends etwas laut von unten, ist halt ein Pub.

We really enjoyed our stay at this bed and breakfast. The location is perfect, right in a beautiful town with a lovely atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent and a great way to start the day. Highly recommended!

The main window in our bedroom didnt open and it was a very hot weekend. But the hotel did supply a fan.

Excellent breakfast - especially the fresh fruit to start, nice spacious room with a good view of the harbour, tasty dinner, even if a bit more than we could manage to eat. Most of all, the staff were so friendly and helpful.

The Breakfast was exceptional although plates were suggested mixing items to make what you fancied was no problem. Room very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. We had an evening meal one night which was also very good.

There was only one chair in the bedroom so one of us had to sit on the bed which is not always comfortable when you are older.

I stayed here over a weekend, the staff were all so friendly and can’t do enough for you. my room was immaculately clean, they even made my bed day 2 .. location excellent, loved this place, can’t wait to return

Fantastic location, great friendly staff, room was excellent and plenty of room. We had dinner in the pub that night and it was excellent. The breakfast included was also just as great. A selection of hot foods were available and it was all tasty. Fantastic pub stay!

Breakfast was very good. Restaurant at the George offered a good range of great meals at a reasonable price. The staff were cheerful and very helpful. Room was good, with a nice view from the top floor. We would stay again.

No lift - I wasn't aware of this, but possibly I didn't read the available info well enough! Not a deal breaker for us. Also no slip mat in the shower, but again I could have asked, but didn't, so not something which made a big difference

The staff, location, bedroom and food were all fantastic! Considering our room was on the top floor the shower was both hot and had excellent water pressure (a problem we have experienced in other places!) Room was clean and tidy, tea coffee etc replenished each day. Nothing was any trouble when we asked the staff and we ate here 3 times during our 2 night stay, 2 x breakfast, 1 x lunch, 1 x evening. Free parking was an absolute bonus too. We enjoyed it so much so we have booked to stay again later in the year 😊

Nothing to dislike other than maybe a few more non alcoholic drink options such as 0% gin would be nice. As we both don't drink and the only 0% choices were cider, guiness or lager.

We have visited the George several times, and it's always a great experience. Staff are friendly, headed up by Karen. Great waitresses, bar staff, and cleaners who are always friendly and helpful. We intend to return again. So much fun at the Pool 'competitions'!! Dan - thanks for the laughs. Ruby - lovely catching up with you and good luck in July. The location was fantastic and view from our room over the harbour was amazing. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and we ate two nights and the food was fantastic. This was our second stay both times for our anniversary and both times were amazing and had so much fun. Booked again whilst there and very much looking forward to seeing you all again soon. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Right in the middle of West Bay, close to bus stop and with terrace next to the river. Nice room with good shower. Arrived for breakfast just after they had finished serving as we got times wrong but still allowed us to have it, and it was a huge full English.

Breakfast can do with finishing later,but I understand they have got to get pub ready for lunches etc.

In great position in West Bay, staff all friendly. Room was lovely,tea/coffee biscuits in room as well as bottled water. Lots of storage, very nice bathroom with nice toiletries. Very good breakfast too

The property was in a good location and had a car park for guests. Furnished rooms were large, clean and fresh with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, bottled water and toiletries in the bathroom. The bed was large with good linen and 2 pillows each plus cushions. Breakfasts were very good and it was no problem adapting them for dietary needs. The pub/restaurant menu has lots to choose from and the meals are very good.

Unfortunately we found the bed to be uncomfortable for us. Seagulls in the area deposited onto cars whilst flying over. The staff were helpful as they let us have a jug of water and some blue roll to clean the windscreen.

Perfect location with an excellent sea view room. Friendly, fun and attentive staff.

Only that they should keep the fire lit downstairs to really give the place ambience. Otherwise brilliant place.

Could be a bit noisy ( it is a pub in a seaside town after all) and some of it was a little bit run down ( though that was part of the charm of the place perhaps?)

The room was comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was excellent quality with generious portions. Can't comment on dinner as we ate elsewhere due to other commitments but the menu looked good.

No long mirror in the room. The bathroom mirror was too high (we are short 1.6m - 5'2") No shelving or hooks in the shower cubicle to put gel, shampoo, sponge or flannel etc on.

Good location for walking and exploring West Bay.

This was once the principal inn in West Bay with its prominent position in the harbour and yet it feels very unloved and down at heel. No heating or real fire on early evening and cheap chairs and tables propped up with beer mats. Breakfast the next day was poor - poached eggs like bullets tasting of vinegar. The landlady wandering around with an armful of her personal laundry. Cleaning products left on the bar. Before arrival we were messaged about opening hours but it would have been nicer to have added a note about where we could park rather than having to move the car from the parking in front of the pub. For £125 odd this is poor value.

Room 4 .lovely... 4 poster bed and sea view. Very nice breakfast and dinner...

We had a lovely view overlooking the harbour. The room was very clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was very tasty. If we head to West Bay again we would definitely consider staying at The George.

We stayed in the room with the four poster bed. The room had a view out across the harbour. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.
