The Nines

One of those hotels where the room itself becomes part of the experience. The location is extraordinary. My room has a beautiful bay window looking directly over the sea and the marina, and I could genuinely spend hours sitting there. There is a wonderfully comfortable corduroy armchair by the window, so you can work, have your morning coffee or simply sit and watch the water. Combined with the very high ceilings, the room feels wonderfully spacious and rather special. But what has impressed me just as much as the setting is the hospitality. I arrived after a completely sleepless night, several hours before the official check-in time, expecting simply to leave my things and wait. Instead, the staff managed to give me my room early. It was such a thoughtful gesture at exactly the moment when it mattered most. And that warmth hasn’t been limited to check-in. Everyone I have encountered has been genuinely lovely. Even the small conversations with the staff add something to the atmosphere. Nothing feels forced or overly formal; you simply feel very welcome here.

Position was great, close to all the town had to offer. Bed very comfortable and bathroom nice and large.

No storage for toiletries in bathroom and very little storage for clothes. Couldn't get any hot water on first morning until maintenance had fixed the issue. But maintenace did come quickly.

A cosy hotel and the food was good. The outstanding part was the staff. They were the heart and soul of the place. Each and everyone who provided me with service were exceptional in their role. Warm, friendly and professional in their job. Thank you all.

Room 14 was a real find — beautifully styled and exactly what I wanted The staff were lovely and made sure I got into the exact room I'd requested — room 14. It was small, but from the moment I saw the photos I knew it was the one. Newly decorated with dark red panelled walls, a lovely mix of Art Deco and Victorian furniture, and really gentle, flattering lighting — it had so much character. The ensuite was a good size too, with a great shower. Dinner was excellent as well — tiger prawn pil pil with broccoli stems, garlic and pecans to start, a nice glass of Chardonnay, and banoffee to finish. Couldn't fault it. My only note: the bed was on the firmer side for my taste, so a mattress topper would make it perfect. Otherwise, this is now my go-to when I'm in Bangor for business — highly recommend.

Great location, near to Marina and local shops. Rooms large(we upgraded to sea view) clean with all amenities. Bar was vibrant and great music. Superb breakfast.

Didn’t bother us but no lift so tricky to access rooms for less able people.

Check-in was smooth, and to our delight, they upgraded us to a beautiful room with a view at no extra charge. The room could do with air conditioning. Yes we could open the window but alot of traffic noise We both felt that the staff weren't particularly friendly and not overly welcoming!

The apartment was great and really nicely decorated and designed (except a couple of little details).

The staff was not very attentive though.

Sehr nettes kleines Hotel mit sehr gutem Restaurant, wo man auch frühstücken kann (Aufpreis). Direkt am Hafen - kostenlose Parkplätz gegenüber. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt.

The location on the seafront. The closeness to the town centre and the free parking on the car park almost directly opposite the hotel. We did not eat there but the food looked and smelled very good

We had all the windows open but the room was excessively hot. This was during one of this summer's heat waves but was uncomfortable in the room.

Location Bathroom

The address of the flat is behind the hotel on an adjoining street. The flat has on street parking.....SO MUCH EASIER than parking at the hotel.... they advertise the free Carpark opposite instead. Theres a 1 way system outside the hotel so if you miss it first time you have to keep driving around the block..which was a bit frustrating. So better parking instructions would be a huge improvement

Lovely location. Stairs weren’t suitable for my 83 year old friend. Our rooms were at the very top with no lift facilities nor did anyone offer to bring bags to the room.

When my fiend ordered breakfast the next morning I realised it wasn’t included in the price thus paid extra. The breakfast was just over £30 for one and a child! Very overpriced.

We stayed in the 4 bed Townhouse, we were suprised at the space we had, as it was advertised only as an apartment on booking.com. Lovely as a family of 5 to have our own space. The beds were really comfortable. Bathroom was great. Good to have the dryer, came in useful to dry off hoodies after being caught in the rain. Comfortable sofas for the evening. Free parking over at the marina wad useful.

The area had nothing to offer. No fault of the Nines. The marina is undergoing development so the town is pretty derelict.

We were allocated a superb, high spec, immaculate room that was spacious and comfortable. The triple aspect bay window had a beautiful sea view. We were lucky enough to park just across the road. Our first time in Bangor. Can’t recommend The Nines enough.

Room was spacious, bathroom good size. Beds were comfortable and bedding was crisp white and clean. Staff kindly held on to our luggage so we didn't have to pull it around shops etc until it was time to leave for the airport. Would recommend. Had lunch the following day it was lovely (fish & chips)

A brilliant location, we were lucky to get upgraded to a sea view room and it was lovely. Great polite staff and loved that there was a variety of gluten free and vegetarian options for breakfast and dinner!

Lovely staff , comfortable beds and nicely decorated with kitchen and living space- car park just right opposite the bar and restaurant. Nice breakfast menu. Place is right by the sea front. All happy- highly recommended!

It was perfect for what we needed, my husband and soon had come off a long flight and needed a space to recover from jetlag. It was great to have a kitchen, and although they didn't have some larger pots to make dinner, these were quickly provided. We had breakfast and dinner x2 in their restaurant and this was good too. Highly recommend

We hired a car, it was on a busy street so parking was not always easy.

When the refurbishment is completed it will make a huge difference. Dinner was tasty, had sea bass which wasn't great just okay. Wait on dessert was stupid long

We had a great stay, the staff were so helpful, especially Cameron and Beth who were so lovely. The food was awesome, the restaurant was busy every night of our stay. The rooms are a bit dated BUT it was built in the early 1900s so doesn't have the modern fixtures like air conditioning. Our room was a bit warm, we asked for a fan and got one straight away. Overall we had a great experience.

The decor of the rooms, however I believe the rooms are currently being renovated.
