Pet friendly, perfect location for enjoying Red mountain
Clean, nicely furnished.
great position and views

Right on ski hill
View wasn’t what I expected
Lovely rooms. Nice facilities. Friendly staff
It’s too far to walk into town and there are no trails to do that. You have to walk along the highway.
Nice location and beautiful views.
We stayed here with a group of 17 people on July 11th. We absolutely loved the live music on the patio during happy hour. The serene mountain setting was perfect and the happy hour specials were really good. After the band was done, we relocated inside the restaurant. The food & service were excellent. As for our stay, the rooms & bathrooms are super cozy, nicely decorated and very spacious. We would all definitely stay here again.
Location was good and the room comfortable.
Breakfast buffet was way overpriced at $30 per person. Given how empty the hotel seemed, it would have made more sense to offer a normal menu.
The staff were so helpful. The beds comfortable. Clean and well put together.
The coffee maker didn't work it at least needed directions. Made a mess. No hot tub.
Staff were Friendly, meals excellent and room was clean and bright.
No pool
Wonderful attention, care and greeting by Jazmeet at the front reception desk. Very comfortable beds and bedding. Buffet breakfast had a nice variety of food.choices. Excellent menu for other meals. We ate at the hotel on the evenings we were there. Staff overall were professional. We enjoyed the hotel "specials" offered each day. On one evening of our trip we accepted the free flight of beer offered in the lounge/restaurant. We really enjoyed our 2 day stay at the Rosie!
Hotel did not have EV charging station for Tesla or other electric vehicles. At the moment the hotel has nothing. This would be a welcome addition to the hotel for future Tesla cars arriving up in the mountain.
Room was exceptionally clean and hotel's location is beautiful
Had a wonderful stay at this Red Mountain resort. Got upgraded to a corner room due to status. Room was clean and the bed was comfy. The outdoor sauna is a nice touch. Had breakfast and dinner at the onsite restaurant. Food was delicious and service was great. The resort was not busy when we went, which is an added bonus. Will come back for sure.
Mooi hotel, lekker restaurant, wintersport locatie
Ietwat afgelegen en de airco viel ongelukkig uit. Rondom hotel wordt nog verbouwd
Amazing staff, loved the ski valet, and the lobby bar. But after a day on the slopes ; there is no hot tub and the saunas are mediocre at best. Please do something about this so we can return !
The room was spacious and the location on the mountain was ideal.

The beds and pillows were amazingly comfortable!
It was all great!
The views were amazing, the room was big and comfortable, and the free secure bike storage was a nice add on. I was also pleasantly surprised by the free daily events. Would stay here again!
No complaints here
The staff and the place were great. We were very well taken care of. The cute Saunas were a highlight, and there is even a gym. The restaurant has nice bistro like food.
While everything was very clean, the sofa in the room smelled a bit of sweat from prior customer. While you cannot re-fresh a sofa the way you change a bed, the hotel should think of more regular steam cleaning of the sofas in the rooms. Skiing can be a sweaty activity.
Loved the atmosphere, the staff was super friendly. The room was exceptional, very clean.
The wait staff in the restaurant were wonderful. The menu was a bit limited.
YOU COULD NOT ASK FOR A BETTER SKI IN SKI OUT EXPERIENCE
The Josie has a fabulous location on the mountain. The view of Red Mt. was outstanding. We enjoyed the large bar after skiing with very friendly bartenders.
Our room was on the smaller side with a small closet. The room lighting needs improvement (too dark).
Location was great. Proximity to the lift. Concierge service with skis.
Furniture in the room was very uncomfortable and impractical. One upright chair and a huge lounge sofa with no back support sounds reasonable as I write this but was totally impractical so that there was no place to settle and read a book accept lying in bed. Forced you to leave the room like staying at a McDonald’s. Bed was comfortable.
We stayed at the Josie earlier this month for a ski week at Red Mountain, BC. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable. I had a great view of the mountain and the ski in/ski out experience was great. One of the very best things about the stay was the ski valet service. We dropped off our skis when we checked in and they took care of them after that, moving them outside for our use each morning. They also held our ski boots overnight and our regular boots/shoes while we were skiing. They were friendly and very professional. Kudos for the ski valet!! I'm giving fewer stars than 5 due to some other issues. Not super important but annoying was that the room was too dark. There were lamps around the edges but no overhead light and when it was dark out it was hard to find things in the suitcases and drawers. One other issue was the sauna. It started out nice and hot at 95 degrees but after about 1/2 hour it was down to 65. Major bummer. And they don't have a hot tub, which would be very nice for soaking in during a weeklong ski vacation. One last review is for the on-site restaurant, the Velvet. I have to say it was the worst restaurant I've been to. I was not feeling well for a couple days and ordered the chicken soup via room service. The soup was awful. It tasted like a can of overcooked chunky soup with brown gravy. Yuck! I couldn't eat it even though I hadn't eaten all day. The next night I had a caesar salad in the restaurant and that was also awful. It was like watered down dressing with no flavor, hardly any parmesan and overcooked, hard croutons. They really need to get a better chef since there are not many food options available nearby for apres ski/dinner without taking a shuttle into town. The daily breakfast included with the room, also at the Velvet, was just ok. I liked the egg frittata and the pumpkin bread but they only had each of them one time during the week. The daily bacon was not crisp, the sausage was terrible, the scrambled eggs were dry, and they had dry, tasteless pastries every day. They did have fresh fruit, which was nice, but I wish there was more variety, and more berries, and not as much tasteless canteloupe and melon. I want to add that I am not a foodie. I am NOT picky, so the restaurant had to be really bad for me to have this reaction. I heard they've gone through many chefs, so something needs to be done on that front.
Incredible staff, couldn’t be nicer, and fantastic location mere steps from the ski lift made this a perfect spot. Excellent restaurant and nice exercise facility were added bonuses.
Mattress could have been a little firmer, but that is a personal preference and pretty nitpicky.
Some problems with the hotel's accounting system as random charges put through my card but sorted out extremely well by the manager.
My husband and I stayed here 4 nights during an extended ski road trip. We loved it. The location is perfect—chairlift right outside the door. The service is casual, but every need is met with a smile. The restaurant and bar have wall to wall windows out to the mountain, and food and cocktails are excellent. There is no hot tub, but there is an adequate workout room (overlooking the chairlift, very motivating!) and two outdoor saunas. Highly recommend!
Beautiful hotel with great restaurant right at the base of Red Mountain.
Location. The Velvet Restaurant. Comfortable room. Sauna outdoors.
Location bar and dining
No hot tub. Sub par saunas

Not as much snow as i was expecting
The breakfast buffet we included with our room stay wasn't great but the service was good.
The towels in our room were damp for some reason and there was definitely a musty smell in the room. Other than that, the facilities were pretty clean
The Josie Hotel offers a beautiful setting in Rossland with excellent amenities and a cozy atmosphere. The rooms were clean and well-appointed, and the location is perfect for enjoying the surrounding area. I have organized multiple large group trips to this property. Unfortunately, our groups experience was overshadowed by an interaction with a manager, Karri Ann Taks, who was unnecessarily difficult and unhelpful. When I raised a concern, I expected a professional and solution-oriented approach, but instead encountered dismissiveness, a lack of willingness to resolve the issue, hiding behind technicalese, and everything but head rolling. This was surprising given the hotel’s reputation for hospitality. If you also have a negative enounter with Karri Ann Taks, I recommend just going directly to the manager Gerome Boye. It is unfortunate that the very negative attitude and pettiness of Karri Ann Taks soured the overall experience with an otherwise stellar team. I have organized multiple large group trips to this location, but would reconsider now in the future given that one of our guests had such a negative experience. I would also going forward ask that guests with any issues go directly to Mr. Boye and buypass Karri Ann Taks if she were ever to enter the picture again given the unnecessary unprofessional demeanor.
Emplacement fantastique
Absence de spa pour la relaxation post ski
Overall average experience, but with a negative overall impression. Front desk should be able to offer free parking when situations warrant, and have coffee available later than 7am. Have stayed there several times in the past, am a Marriott Bonvoy member. Suggestion1: When occupancy is low, generate goodwill with guests when snow is predicted and the garage is nearly empty. Suggestion 2: Have coffee available later than 7am. I understand you need to be profitable, but cutting these types of amenities at a luxury hotel is bad form. How much does it cost to offer complimentary parking in bad weather conditions and to have coffee available until mid morning?
We stayed at this Autograph Collection hotel for three nights, and unfortunately, it fell far short of the standards we’ve come to expect from other Autograph properties in North America and Europe. This is neither a boutique hotel nor a true luxury property. It lacks the individuality and character that typically distinguish Autograph Collection hotels, instead feeling like a generic large ski-resort operation. The hotel is owned by an American company based in Texas and was only recently added to the Autograph/Marriott portfolio. Prior to that, it functioned simply as a ski-resort hotel — and, in truth, that’s still exactly how it feels. The on-site restaurant, Velvet, was disappointing for both breakfast and dinner, and we would not recommend dining there. On a positive note, the rooms were clean and the staff provided adequate service, though nothing beyond functional.
It was so special !!! They upgraded us to a suite and we didn’t even tell them it was our anniversary! It was awesome!!! Everyone gave top tier service!!! Would highly recommend!!! The meals from the restaurant were delicious!!! Highly recommended!!!!
Expect a bs “resort charge” to unexpectedly show up in your credit card.
Great rooms and amazing hotel!
The Josie hotel was pretty empty when we stayed. Service was fine a big shout out to the chamber maids who do a great job. Internet and TV is a pain would be nice to have warning coffee available instead of in room espresso machine
Modern, comfortable rooms with great views of the mountain.
Windows were dirty but the rest of the stay was excellent. Loved it.
The beds, hotel, location and amenities are all lovely and we really enjoy rossland. The cleaning staff and restaurant staff were all very nice.
We stayed at the Josie last year and really enjoyed it, which is why we decided to come back for a little mini moon after our wedding. We noted this in our booking and the hotel acknowledged it, but nothing was done to recognize the occasion during our stay. Given it was the shoulder season and there were very few guests, that felt a little disappointing. We still had a nice time and were excited to be there, but since it was a special trip for us and on the more expensive side to celebrate the occasion, we had hoped for a bit more effort to make it feel special. Also, just a heads up for anyone booking through booking.com — there is a pet fee of 25 dollars a night that isn’t listed there and they will just charge it to your room without telling you.
This was a lovely stay and I recommend the experience. The restaurant is good, the hotel is slope side and the staff is friendly.
We will be back!
All good
It’s practically brand new so everything is in great shape. We had a suite so it was very lovely. The bathroom was enormous. Could have used some tea bags along with coffee pods and the body lotion was empty, but we lived, lol. Just lovely and we enjoyed chatting with our breakfast server too.
Beautiful location right next to Red Mountain ski hill.
Great location, clean and spacious rooms, friendly staff
Staff was very friendly and the hotel was amazingly clean. The only complaint is the mattress was extremely soft and bouncy.
Beautiful property with modern vibe. Quite quiet in the off season. Service in the restaurant was very slow even though there were only 3 tables with guests.
Nice, spacious room and bathroom. Good linen.
Location and scenery
Awesome place to stay!!!
What I didn't like was a destination fee of 20 dollars, I guess is like Las Vegas resort fee. Also they should have waved covered parking because of all the construction in the area with very limited parking near by.
The staff were really nice and the room is exactly as it was described. The bathroom was bigger than most Parisian hotel rooms. It has central air, not a noisy AC unit attached to the side of the room. It's definitely a big step up from most other hotels in the area. You'll pay twice as much to stay in Nelson for a much lower quality room (Summer Rates).
Clean, quiet, comfortable bed.
Just simply awesome from staff to accommodation
At check in the hotel refused to accept a debit or anything other than a credit card for incidentals. Would of lost prepaid stay if I did not borrow a friend’s credit card. I will not stay here again. Never had this problem at any other hotel.
Lovely location. Great restaurant and delicious food!
You need a car to get to the main town but it's not far.
Property is new and beautiful. Rooms are updated and comfortable. Service was excellent. Hotel amenities also excellent. Location great for skiing or bike trails. Need your car to dine in Rossland or go to hiking trails. A lot of construction in the immediate area.
New and clean
Parking only in basement. Construction all around the hotel. No signage on how to get to hotel. Ended up parking in a gravel pit over night
A beautiful resort style hotel sent against a scenic mountain backdrop. The staff and guest service and attention to detail were phenomenal!
Nice hotel with great beds! Only there for a few hours so didn’t check out facilities,.
Beautiful hotel. The service was wonderful. We were immediately upgraded to a suite upon arrival and told everything we needed to know about our stay. The tub was wonderful and much needed. The his and her sinks were a great addition. The nespresso maker was great. We hoped we would see some bears on the hill but no such luck. This is a great spot if you’re looking for somewhere classy to stay off of the beaten path. 5 minutes to town and we were thankful we chose to stay at the Josie instead of in town. My only tiny complaint would be they need to figure out a system for letting cars into the underground parking without having to call the front desk. I found that a bit annoying and felt bad for the person working the front desk each time I had to call haha. Perfect for a couples trip! We will be back! Thank you!
Beautiful hotel.. friendly staff, delicious food! A memorable birthday for sure !
Beautiful hotel!
Overall a decent property, however there were a few issues. It's a bit off the grid in that you have to drive down a dirt road for a while to get there. The entire area is under construction and as we were almost there I had to back up for almost 100 meters to allow another vehicle to get out before I could proceed. The so called free self parking is a fair walk into a dirt area. I was given another option in the underground garage which I chose because as the check-in guy offered one or the other he quickly added that the hotel is not responsible... I found this method somewhat tactless to be honest. Last, we had free breakfast with our room and even with previously reading negative reviews I didn't think anyone could screw up breakfast. I was wrong. Over easy eggs were over hard and burnt. Sourdough toast were very burnt. A few sausage links also very overcooked. Last, I chose a diet coke for my drink choice and it was flat. My wife had a waffle with chicken which was okay, except... Yes, the waffle was burnt. Dear Manager, please note that there is something wrong with your restaurant! We will not be returning to this property.
Location, location, location! Close to tons of hiking trails for us. The hotel is at the ski resort for winter and primarily is a trail bike resort in the summertime. The town of Rossland, BC is a quaint small town with some great restaurants too.
Free coffee was only available from 5 to 7 AM. Some of us don't get up that early when we are on vacation.
I paid extra to have a mountain view and I got a view of the parking lot even after double asking at front desk about my view they assured me that my room was considered mountain view. Also paying an extra $15 to park underground when there is only 8 parking spots in front of the hotel is not acceptable.
Excellent all around!
Beautiful mountain Great breakfast and thank you Millie for your service at Velvet. Limited amenities in immediate areas but everything we needed was within a 10 min drive.9
A great facility.
Fantastic!
lovely hotel and staff
Initially, during the check in time the staff member, the white female wasn’t polite at all, didn’t explain the things properly. No smile in face. Then, no amenities in the hotel. Not even a microwave in the room.
Service and the velvet restaurant were fantastic, the rooms were clean and modern.
This is a wonderful hotel. Beds are very comfortable, rooms are quiet, excellent location, staff is helpful and friendly.
