Chillhouse Lembongan

I had originally booked a hotel on another part of the island but was advised by a friend (a recent returnee from Lembongan) that this part of the island was better served by restaurants, bars, etc so I switched to Chillhouse and have no regrets. The place is close to the beach, spas and numerous quality eateries. The staff are respectful and incredibly well-mannered and go above and beyond to help. I do not have WhatsApp and was therefore having difficulty organising a future transfer from Sanur to Ubud but Gede sorted it for us very quickly and efficiently. When we asked about a taxi to get to our fast ferry (Setia), Gede and his employee (a wonderfully helpful and polite young man) volunteered to take us there on their scooters, despite the fact that Gede was dressed and ready for an important religious festival. The room had everything I could ask for at a very good price. The pool is a refreshing little oasis.

All the negative reviews are confirmed. Most importantly, the towels were terribly dirty, grey, with brown and yellow stains. There was a horrible smell coming from the bathroom. The place is outdated, and the value for money is poor.

Gede and his wife are unbelievably helpful organising scooter, trips, and even adhoc things. The accommodation is close to the main town and ferries. I stayed in Apartment No 1 which was closest to the road and it was still super quiet. Endless hot water, great internet and a super spacious apartment/bed.

The smell that comes from the sewage can be a bit challenging on the nostrils at times, but there's a fan in there to air it out - so it didn't bother me.

A meticulously well maintained property set just back from the main road so it was really quiet. The room was very spacious with plenty of space to move around. And they cleaned it every day if you wanted them to. Lovely staff. Nothing was a problem for them. Location was great. Plenty of cafes & warungs within a short walking distance. And a family shop out the front to buy any necessities, like water. I’d stay here again, for sure.

I had an issue getting water to stay hot in the shower for any length of time. I think I must have been using it at the same time as everyone else. Probably best to try outside of ‘popular’ showering times!

I liked the location, daily cleaning, comfy bed, the room was spacious and quiet.

One small thing - please wash or change the day curtains, they're extremely unpleasant, dirty. Also, please fix the shower head, it was a huge struggle to adjust the water the head wasn't cleaned up from the build up.

This place is well located on the main street so its easy to walk everywhere with loads of food options close by and diving shops and beach. Rooms are spacious and beds comfy. Being on the main road it can be a bit noisy so I recommend ear plugs if you dont sleep well.

The only thing that was not good was the shower hotwater system had a 240 volt connection right above the shower which is really unsafe (not to standard in Australia) but at least the hot water worked :)

The host was very welcoming and responsive, always taking care of things that I asked and when there was some issue with noise even that was taken care of immediately. I was very happy with the level of service. The bed was comfortable (mattress a bit on the hard side for those who prefer soft), aircon worked perfectly, water in the shower was hot and there was even a hairdryer in the room. Thank you for providing a significant amount of hangers for clothes (that is rare in Indonesia).

Curtains could be a bit darker as the sun rises early and it is a bit difficult to sleep in without a sleep mask.

Very friendly and kind family run business. Lovely rooms. Very helpful with whatever we needed. Very handy as they have a shop, rental bikes, can organise any kind of tours. Highly recommended. Definitely be back to stay again

Very close to the beach and restaurants. The Family was very warm and accommodating. They have a shop right there to buy any essentials you'll need. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean and well maintained. Even provided a hair dryer. Quiet location. We liked it so much we kept extending our stay.

Die Familie und Hosts waren super zuvorkommend und haben sich um alle Wünsche gekümmert. Zur Unterkunft gehört auch ein kleiner Laden, sodass man direkt alle Annehmlichkeiten vor Ort hat. Absolut empfehlenswert.

This is a fabulous little homestay which doesn't look like anything from the front. The sign is a little faded and you'd nearly miss it if you didn't know it was there! Gede is a lovely man who has excellent English and is extremely helpful. He even took me and my luggage to the ferry for my trip home with no bother at all! The family also own the mart in front which has everything you could want for your stay. The room has a fridge and kettle so all is there if you need it. The aircon was good as was the wifi. The pool is really nice and a great addition. There are comfy lounges also! The room was huge and the bed very comfy. They do not supply a blanket but i used my light travel blanket which was enough for me. They have scooter rental onsite but I wanted a bicycle so just went around the corner and rented one from there which was very convenient. The position of the homestay is perfect with good access to the beaches and restaurants/bars etc. It is so quiet and lovely. Thanks Gede and family for a wonderful stay - I will definitely be back!

We booked a hotel initially but it was too far from the main part of Lembongan. We moved to Chillhouse and we couldn’t recommend it more. Dahyun and his wife were extremely welcoming and super lovely. Location was fantastic and close to all the bars and restaurants. Would highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for somewhere on Nusa Lembongan.

The staff were super nice and had a convenience shop right next door. The room was clean when we arrived and had it cleaned while we were gone. AC was nice and made the hot days a bit better.

Wasn't a lot of space to put stuff, towels were hard to hang up (maybe because i'm short) so made it hard to dry towels.

Such a great home stay, very clean rooms with everything you need to be comfortable. Pool was lovely and it’s very close to the beach and the shops. There is a little shop at the front which was really handy. Quick walk to Kawanns Inn for great food. We really enjoyed our stay here and will def be back! Thanks so much

This place is like my second home in Lembongan, it was already the 3rd time that I stayed here. Gede and his familiy makes sure you have a great vacation. The room was nice, clean and offered a lot of private sphere. The family also has a small shop so you can very easily get all supplies. Gede and the other staff were fantastic - very friendly and attentive. The room was serviced daily and the pool was maintained very well. Organising scooter rental was very easy and Gede provided excellent suggestions for activities on Lembongan.

The downstairs room was slightly dark even with the light on.

Loved this family run homestay. So convenient - close to restaurants and shops and 5 minute walk to the beach, fast boat, and dive centers. Air conditioning and wifi worked great. Nice pool. Just a few rooms, so also fairly private. I was on first floor. Upstairs rooms are very private. Attached convenience store in the front of the property for easy access to water, snacks, supplies. Komang, who serviced the rooms, was incredibly nice. I would 100% stay here again.

Yes, the bed is a spring mattress with not a lot of padding, but on a humid tropic island, that's probably a good thing. I slept just fine and I'm kind of sensitive if mattress is too firm. I

Le logement est bien situé, à proximité de tout. La location de scooter est disponible c'est 70k RP par jour. En plus, un demi plein d'essence est fournis. La clim ne fais pas de bruit. La piscine est cool et il y a des transats. Il y a une bonne pression d'eau. C'est un bon rapport qualité prix. En plus de gérer des logements, la famille a une épicerie.

La literie est à revoir, le lit est fait de ressort et l'oreiller est trop mou, un petit coussin est présent pour solidifier mais c'est pas agréable. Les rideaux manquent d'opacité.

Lovely guesthouse that exceeded all of my expectations. The family are delightful, location is perfect and the room met all of my needs. Motorcycle rental is available and a well stocked store and refrigerator of cold beverages on the property.

The AC in the room was super loud making it hard to sleep, and also there was a bad smell in the toilet. In general, the room needs a bit of maintenance.

There were a couple of trip hazards - the pump? access on the pathway leading to room #6 was quite raised and easy to trip on. Because of a warped door, it was very difficult for me to lock my door. Most nights I gave up and didn’t. Put the stool across the door.

This was the best place we stayed on Nusa Lembongan by far! Good Day is a great owner, the most lovely man with brilliant English too. He also gave maximum effort in helping us with booking taxis and maximising our stay. The room was very clean and also cleaned perfectly every day. It’s a brilliant location for the beach and restaurants would recommend to anyone going to Lembongan!

This is a family owned business and all the staff are really friendly and helpful. The location is really good, walkable to all the shops and restaurants. Room is clean and nice pool. They also have a convenient store right below the unit and it’s super convenient and good price. The only downside is the WiFi didn’t really work and the bed can be nicer, otherwise everything else is great, will recommend it!

The location was perfect in my opinion. The staff were so helpful especially when I fell ill. Gede kindly arranged for us to stay longer and help find a dr to resolve my Bali belly.

Great location, on the main drag, my room was at back of building so quiet away from street noise, big windows on top floor, very private aspect.

Gede & his family were brilliant, so friendly and helped organise our manta ray snorkelling trip, as well as the boat back to Sanur Harbour. Room was great for the price - simple but does the job. Location was perfect - right by the beach and loads of restaurants/bars. We also hired a motorbike for the day for 75k from Gede.

We struggled to get hot water. We didn’t mention to Gede as we weren’t too bothered as was only a few days (I’m sure he’ll have sorted it if we told him).

Faintly in the background you could hear some motorbike noise. Maybe if you have a room further into the property that would be OK. Does not provide refillable drinking water. The price is a bit expensive compared to some cheaper finds in the area.

What a great place to stay on your visit to Lembongan! This is a small set of apartments run by Gede and his wife, Kadek. Such a beautiful family, always there to assist you with anything you need. They also run the shop on the premises where you can get your essentials. Snacks, drinks, sunscreen, bug spray, etc. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location is convenient to all the restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and also a five-minute walk to Jungutbatu Beach, which is gorgeous and has some good food spots along the beachfront. Be sure to rent a scooter from Gede & Kadek for the day (around £3.50) and explore both islands. You will have the best time! If you want a clean, comfortable place to stay in a great location, then this is it.

Chillhouse is a lovely quiet spot from which to explore Lembongan and only minutes from the beach! The room was very spacious and clean. It was nice to have a fridge to keep the water cold! The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was a good size. Gede and his team were very helpful including organising a scooter tour of the Island for me with Pandu (super guide and great fun! ). It had rained heavy the day I was leaving and Gede gave me and my bags a lift to ferry which was very good of him.

The door was a bit tricky to lock, but the guys were always on had to help out when I got stuck.

Excellent little home stay in the main part of Lembongan. The family that runs it is so nice and friendly and will help you set up anything you need. I did the scooter tour of Lembongan through Chillhouse and it was a really nice day. There is a little convenience store in front of Chillhouse and plenty of restaurants around. Also laundry and atm about a 5 minute walk away. The rooms were clean and spacious.

This has nothing to do with Chillhouse (which was wonderful!), but rather the company running the Nusa Penida tour that I booked via Chillhouse. The company put 28 of us on a boat with only 16 seats (and roughly that many or less lifejackets) and had people sitting on the side railings of the boat to go the 15 minutes over to Nusa Penida. I know it’s a short ride, but it felt incredibly unsafe.

The property is well placed in terms of location. The room was nice and quiet and met all my needs for what was required. A room, a bathroom, air conditioning and wifi. The owner and employees offered to take me on the scooter to visit different locations during my short stay for a small price. I am very grateful for that, it helped me get around the island as I new exactly where I wanted to see in the 48 hours. Thanks again for your hospitality! Definitely value for money and lovely ownership

Good location and staff are nice, fair price

- main thing: bed sheets clearly weren't changed. We saw long hair near pillows and small hair around legs area - lots of dead bugs in the bathroom around toilet - no soap by the sink (only liquid gel in shower) - had to walk thru puddles of water to access room after rain - hot water tank runs out too quick, 2 people impossible to shower - check out early at 10am - wifi wasn't fast in the room

All the staff including Gede were friendly, and the room and pool were all good. I've been to Gili, Amed, Sanur, Ubud (Today is my 29th night in Bali) It's a cost-effective and fool included mibasic accommodation.

Staff were amazing and tried to help in anyway needed. There is a store with everything you need and bike rental is just 75k a day. Rooms cleaned daily. There are TVs in room, however no English channels and no options for Netflix etc. bathrooms are the outdoor style. Nice small pool

We had a very nice stay at the Chill house. Our daughter enjoyed the pool, we the quiet atmosphere and the cleanliness of the place. The host family was always there to help with tips and other things and we rented a motorbike for a very good price. Really recommended!

We choose the location of Chillhouse Lembongan and to be honest we were pleasantly surprised with the quality and how clean the room was for the price. Special mention and praise for the owners of Chillhouse Lembongan for their attention to detail and very warm welcome we received when we arrived at 11am. They couldn't be any more accommodation with our needs or recommendations for what the Island has to offer.

We loved our stay at Chillhouse, it was clean, right in the centre and at a very affordable price. The owners were also super kind and helpful.

If I could have any extra wishes, I'd say: - it would be nice to have a hand towel and soap next to the bathroom sink, - curtains could be darker/blackening. But for the price, it was still an excellent deal!

The shower head is clogged and it is difficult to take a shower, the mixer is also broken - the water is either boiling water or ice. There were also a lot of insects in the room at first.

Chillhouse is at a very good location in Lembongan and the rooms are very nice! What stood out was the service and Gede is an extremely professional and good host. Would recommend to everyone!

Nothing much to dislike

Well the previous reviews were right, Gede (the owner) and his family provided amazing service. From check in, booking island tour, hiring a scooter, arranging a fast boat for us to get back to Bali was all so easy, great prices. (Was cheaper getting the fast boat back then there) Whilst the pool was small, it was prefect only a small hotel so never full with people when the place only had 1 room left. Would recommend.
